November 4-Day Split Check-in

Happy Sunday! Welcome to a new week! I started the second week of Cathe’s November rotation this morning with Higher Intensity Step. Fun, fun, fun! I thought Cathe forgot to add a blast after the first step combo. It dawned on me this morning that the blast is fun and choreographed and feels like an extension of the step choreography. This is my favorite blast of all time! It took me 3 weeks to recognize it as a blast. LOL! I would love to see Cathe create more choreographed blasts like this one.

I was bursting with energy after the fun cardio this morning, but heavy weight training always makes me tired. I am ready to enjoy a long nap this afternoon. Oh, I am so excited! I can use 20-pound weights for incline presses now. I am sure that is light for most of you, but 12 pounds was heavy for me 3 weeks ago.

I need to do dishes and laundry and grocery shopping this afternoon. Have a blessed Sunday!

Karen, Cathe shared earlier this year that she was planning to film another advanced step workout similar to Rhythmic Step as well as a travel workout and a boxing series. She responded Friday that those are still in the works, but it will take some time. It appears that STS is her first priority. I am happy with HIS and LIS, and I will wait patiently for another step workout.

Cab0899, I love water workouts!

Lori, I crave protein after weight workouts. My body does not tolerate soy protein, so this is a good option for me. It is raw, plant-based, and organic with 14 grams of fiber per serving. I add a cup of organic orange juice, an organic banana, organic frozen strawberries, and 2 scoops of Nutiva organic hemp protein powder to my blender. Yummy! It is a good way to get some extra servings of fruit in a sweet treat without any added sweeteners. Hemp protein powder is odorless and has a mild nutty flavor. It does not change the taste of the smoothie at all.

Heidi, you and Gayle have more self-control than I do! I opened mine as soon as the UPS man delivered them to me!

Well I had a interesting workout today. I started LIS from 4day split, I was on the second blast and the power went out. I waited a few minutes all sweaty in the dark and then grabbed my running shoes and went outside and did a 2.5 mile run. By the time I got home the power was back on and so did the cooldown with Cathe and then the weights. Figured I got an extra 10-15 minutes of cardio and sure is a beautiful day out so worked out well.

Heather, when are you going to the Cayman Islands? I was there once, very very beautiful!!

I have the day off for Remembrance Day and the kids have school so plan to get some heavy duty cleaning done this afternoon. Hope eveyone is having a good day! Kim

Hey Kim,

It's me...Heidi. I am going to the Caymans in January for 12 days. The family is going and we'll be seeing the rest of the family while there. My mother in-law is originally from the Caymans. She and my DD are staying on until the end of January. My DD needs this break from college, internship and working for a Catering Co. She is really looking forward to not having anything to do but scuba dive and hangout with her cousins.
I wish I could stay longer but work calls. We are right in the middle of a marketing project so even getting this break is going to be difficult. Having a portable is going to really come in handy while away so I can keep tabs on the business and keep up with you all.

added in MM abs. Later tonight I was thinking of doing the Low Impact Step to loosen up my legs for tomorrows cardio session.

My DS and DD are off from school today as well. They don't start Thanksgiving break until next week Weds. Today isn't really a break for my daughter because she is at the lab working on her research project. She has a Progeria conference later today. It is going to be another late night run to the train station.

Hey, gals...glad to read everyone's doing great workouts. I'm looking forward to LIS & Weights later tonight after DDs' bedtimes. Tomorrow won't be a rest day. I'm switching that w/ Wednesday, so I'll do BC * Weights tomorrow. Eating has been good...seeing/feeling results.

The Cayman's sound WONDERFUL. That was one of the stops on our honeymoon. Would love to go back. At this point I don't even have time to go up north (Michigan)!

Checking in with nothing exciting today. I did have another rest day on Monday. Hubby was off and the boys had hockey games by the time I got home I didn't have any energy to do HIS. Today was a cardio day so I did my treadmill. Where is everyone today?

Enjoying your rest day? I had a forced rest day yesterday so I have to shuffle my rotation a bit. Will do LIS & weights today. Bootcamp & weights tomorrow.

Hi ladies!!

I am here. I have been online all afternoon trying to do some virtual online Christmas shopping. I get almost all my nieces and nephews done..YEAH!!!

Anyway, I worked at today instead of resting. I did Bootcamp/bis & tris...Tomorrow I will rest as I have a dentist appt in the morning and the kids have PE class in the afternoon.

Kathy, I've had to reconigure my rotation for this week too.

I just finished BC & Weights. Tonight I'll do LIS cardio. Tomorrow AM I'll do LIS weights. Thursday will resume the regular rotation. I did BC becuase DDs were up & around and Iknew they would enjoy doing that one with me (they are 5&3) - they had a blast.

Have fun at the kids PE class. I get so frustrated w/ the moms at preschool. When its playtime they just sit there. PLAY WITH YOUR KIDS! If you don't teach them to be active & healthy no one will. They'll have to wait until they are 30 & overweight to learn & then it will be 100x harder. Just my rant of the day....see you!

Kate: you are so right!!! I feel exactly the same way..I try to get my kids to workout with me all the time. But, the footwork is a little tricky for them...But, I do have them do stretching. Which is what tomorrow will be about...a stretch day!!

Hi Kate,Lori and Kathy,

Just checking in to say hello and see how you are doing today.

It has been one of those hectic days for me. DS home not feeling well. I had quite a few orders to take care of for work and running around to banks and the post office. Then it was off to the store for groceries. By the time I got home again I had a bad headache.

It was a cardio day for me. I did an iTread #24 which I only did the first 1/2. I saved the other 1/2 for tonight. I also threw in SJP abs and planks. I had a hard time with some of the moves because my hip and quad muscles were tight from running intervals.

I guess right now I am debating doing to bed early so I can get extra rest and feel better tomorrow. My DD has to be picked up at the train station sometime tonight but that could be 11PM. I don't think I can stay up and wait. My DH will have to get her this time.

Oh, and I agree about having your kids workout with you sometimes too. They learn from us and if we show them how we enjoy working out to stay healthy they will do the same. My kids all weightlift and run,hike or bike. My DS who is the youngest of the group (12) can use 20#'s for his bicep curls. He was just telling me this before I went on line. Cutie :) makes me smile.

Not only did I do BC & Wieghts earlier today....I just finished LIS & weights! I feel so great! I figured I'd be too tired in the morning to lift so I just did it all! Yay, me!

Wednesday will definetly be a rest day!
 
November 4-Day Split Check-in

Blessing my body with an earlier bedtime last night was a good decision. I had a little more energy today. Starting this day with Kickbox helped too! There is nothing like a burst of Cathe sunshine in the morning to add a big splash of joy to the whole day. The cardio kickboxing is fun, fun, fun. I am never ready for it to end, but it is just right for the lower body work that follows. The heavy leg presses are getting easier for me. I modified and started the low-plane lunges from the top of the movement and still felt them. Mercy! Yes, I definitely felt them! I am amazed that Cathe and her girls can start on the floor with heavy weights in both hands. The final round is still my favorite. I have fun playing with the band! I am loving the core work in this one more and more every week. Did I mention that I love, love, love this workout? I was tempted to repeat the cardio tonight, but I am determined to stick with Cathe’s rotation. I am planning to enjoy the cardio premix Friday morning for my optional cardio workout, so I will enjoy it again this week. Yippee!

My cycle started today too. That explains my craving for sweets yesterday afternoon and the blues I was battling last night.

Stretch Max is in my DVD player for tomorrow morning, which is another personal favorite. I am looking forward to recharging tomorrow so I can have fun with Lower Intensity Step Thursday morning.

My boss was out of town today, and I enjoyed a peaceful and quiet day at work. My meals and snacks are packed for tomorrow. It is time to enjoy a warm bubble bath and call it a day.

I just ordered my 2008 Cathe calendar! It will be fun to see pictures of Cathe’s first bodybuilding contest and beauty pageant!

I ran out of time for personals and hope to catch up later this week.

Hi everybody. I am checking in with a better mood today!:) I was feeling stressed yesterday. I am having issues with my kidney. I am waiting to hear if I have a cyst or stones. I had to go for yet another test yesterday. The not knowing what it is is what is bugging me the most. I know I need to be patient but this has been going on since Sept. OK that was my vent of the day.

Checking in with Kickboxing. Heather I love this workout too. I also would love for the cardio to be longer. I was able to do the first two sets of low lunges from the bottom but the second round I had to start from the top. When I get to the ab section my legs are very tired that when we hold them in the split position I have a hard time keeping them up. But soon I will be ale to do it.

I think it is very important to keep childred active too. I have three sons and all of them play baseball and hockey. They will join me sometimes when I workout. My oldest (13) will go running. It surprised me that he can run 4 miles in 45min. I always tell them I workout for three reasons, my heart, bones and so I can run around the yard with them.

I am going to tell my hubby that he can start his Christmas shopping by ordering the new Cathe Calander. :D

Heather and Lori: I enjoy the kickbox workout too. I was feeling it in my glutes big time after doing it the last time. I am still having issues with the low lunges. They are tough!! But, I am working on being able to do them the way Cathe does. Right now I am still starting from the top and going down...


I am doing a stretch max segement today too. I needed a rest day and a stretch!! Works out good!!

Lori, I sure hope everything is okay. Please let us know what happens.

Our family is very active. DS has run a few short road races with me and is faster than I am. He really wants to run a half marathon with me next year but I think he is still too young (age 10). I much prefer to play sports with my kids than watch them play, I'm not shy about joining in. Their friends think it's great when I jump in the backyard pool or play street hockey and my kids still think it's neat but maybe one day they won't want me too??

Yesterday I enjoyed my rest day, sitting on the couch watching The Biggest Loser. Today I just finished Boot Camp and ordering my Cathe calendar. I would like to catch up a bit more but my biceps are killing me from Boot Camp and typing is hard. LOL;-)

Cab - Good for you on your soreness! I love when that happens!

Yesterday was a rest day. Tonight will be HIS & chest/back. I have a very busy day tomorrow so Fri. will likely be a rest day, or maybe I can sneak in some cardio then too. My DDs (ages 3&5) love to do BC - maybe we'll do that again.

Keep your eating clean to maximize results!!!

Good morning I want to say thank you for all the well wishes. I hope to hear something soon.

Checking in with YOGA. I did yoga for the first time. I did Inhale on the oxygen net work. It felt good. A couple of the moves I couldn't fold like them but may be next time. Is Cathe's Stretch workouts anything like yoga? I just might invest in a Yoga dvd.;-)

So who here is having Thanksgiving at their house? I am having it here with 20 people. I was thinking of doing something new this year. I am considering doing a "turkey trot" not running just getting everyone out for a walk. We also talk about which charity we will help out for Christmas. Instead of exchanging gifts we give to someone in need. What family traditions do you all have?
