November 4 day split rotation check-in...

Hi Everyone

I've sort of diverted from the rotation but still doing Cathe workouts. Presently my knee is injured but I'm able to do aerobics on the floor without the step. So I tried one of my favourites today BodyMax 2. It was the scrambled cardio premix 80 mins. It was great. I burned 551 cals I was really chuffed and my knee thanked me for not using the step. Then I did section one of Tracey Staehles sweatfest sculpt. I really felt this in my abs. At one point I thought I'd got cramp in my left oblique. Never had that before but it soon went when I rested it. It was quite funny really. Specially when one of my dogs Ollie the golden retriever decided to join in by sitting on my stomach ouch.

Eats today:
Meal 1: Oatmeal and eat whites.
Meal 2: Low fat natural yoghurt with grapes and strawberries.
Meal 3: Peppered steak and salad.
Meal 4: Whey Shake
Meal 5: Oatcakes with weight watchers salmon pate.

Also plenty of milk which is my downfall.

Yesterday was rubbish I had 4 glasses of wine ( I haven't drank alcohol for over a month) then proceeded to eat 3 choc chip cookies and a piece of homemade carrot cake.

I must be good all week. My eating can be very poor.

I loved the fact your dog decided it was a perfect time to come and sit on your stomach! :) Maybe he/she decided this would be good for stretching you out...;-)

Hi to everyone in this challenge. Just checkig in with you all to how it is going.

I worked out last night to GS chest/tri, Abs from BM2 and then a iTread #23 run for 40min. I am feeling it today especially in my shoulders and chest. I went for a 3.5mi walk with my DD to stretch my legs and get in some Mother/Daughter talk. Nice to have these few minutes alone with her. She is in college and very busy most of the time with lab reports, internships and catering all at once.

Wish I had more time to chat, but just checking in to say I did the w/o today. SO GREAT! I did well w/ eating today too. Will need to eat super-clean tomorrow so I have lots of energy for BOOTCAMP!
 
Swayze, that calf work was killer...but oh so good. I was just about in tears.

WHO'S READY FOR SOME BOOTCAMP TODAY?!

I likely won't be doing it until late tonight. Cathe's tricep strength amazes me. I f I remember correctly, she uses a 30 for tricep extensions behind the head. Blows my mind. I'm cryin' w/ a 20!

Good Morning everyone. Yesterday I was able to get on the TM. My eating wasn't clean at all. Today is a new day and the start of a new week. I will be good!

Today I did HIS. I almost have combo 3 down. I was able to leap over the step. I know everyone is on week two and I am a week behind. Is anyone else doing week one this week???

Did I read right did Kim say SNOW??? I am not ready for snow.

Hi Lori! I love that leap over the step part!

We have snow coming our way tonight too (Michigan). I'm not quite ready either. But it's Michigan, and it will probably be beach weather next week!

Checking in today with Bootcamp: Bi & tri. I really like those drills. It was a great sweaty workout. Tomorrow I may have to take OFF or do the elliptical. We are having our carpets cleaned in the house and the room I workout in is one of those rooms. So, not sure yet what I will do...

Homeschool PE - How fun! Do you kind of use your Cathe moves w/ them? I was going to HS my girls, but decided against it. Have fun... a BLAST!
 
Hey Kate: I do follow Cathe's technique when I stretch them out. Then the run around the field for cardio. Then we normally introduce them to a sport. We played baseball today. We have also done kickball, basketball, soccer, tennis, flag football and the Presidential Fitness challenge. It is fun and the kids enjoy the time with their friends. We normally do an hour of structured sports and a half hour of playtime...

We enjoy it...


I know those carpet cleaners!!HAHA

Hi All

Did HIS again today and added on Triceps & Biceps. I realised using a chair with back support I could lift alot heavier on the overhead press. I think with my weak back that may have prevented me from lifting heavier previously. Or by pressing my back against the back of the chair is that cheating. I don't know but I was able to get to 25lbs overhead press which I've never been able to do before.

Loved HIS step today. I love combo 1 & 2. Combo 3 is still a bit of a nightmare but I'm slowly getting there. Granted I'm not using a step due to my injury in my left knee but at least I'm moving. I want to do my legs tomorrow as I've neglected them since my injury. I must say I'm scared of putting pressure on my knee. I'm okay with weighted squats, plie squats and dead lifts but lunges and leg press on the high step I don't know. I might do Gym Style legs tomorrow with the band and light or no weight on the lunges I'll see. Better safe than sorry.

Eats not too good.
Meal 1: Egg whites and oatmeal
Meal 2: Whey
Meal 3: Beans on wholemeal toast.
Meal 4: Grapes, Strawberries and Low fat natural yoghurt.
Meal 5: Banana, Orange and Apple.
Meal 6: Oatcakes and cottage cheese.

I know no veg rubbish, must make up for it tomorrow. Also water wasn't much good either. Try harder tomorrow.

Kathy - That sounds like so much fun!

Laura - No worries about not using the step - you're doing great! So many people use any sort of weakness as a reason to sit around and be lazy - props to you! I'll have to try the chair trick too.

I just finished Bootcamp & weights. Cathe's freakish strength for tricep work will never cease to amaze me!

Tomorrow is "off" or cardio - what will YOU do? I'm going to do cardio, just not sure which one.

Checking in today with that rest day. Unfortunately!! We had the carpets cleaned and I can't get in there to workout.. So, I will do cardio tomorrow instead of that other rest day...

Enjoy your rest day Kathy! I feel like a need a rest day but will take it tomorrow. I'll do something low impact tonight - maybe the cardio from LIC. Enjoy your day!
 
Hi everyone Kathy I hope you had a good rest day. A rest day would have been nice today since it is a rainy day out there. But as Cathe says "no time for down time" I'll take my rest day on Sunday. I did 4DS Kickboxing. I just love this work out. I was even able to do the low lunge thanks to the suggestion by starting at the top.

Hi Everyone

I decided on a rest day today. Went to the dentist for a check up and did some shopping so didn't get round to legs.

Meal 1: Oatmeal and Egg Whites
Meal 2: Whey
Meal 3: Salmon Steak and salad.
Meal 4: Yoghurt and grapes.
Meal 5; Banana, satsuma and apple.
Meal 6: Oatcakes and cottage cheese.

Tomorrow must make up for it.

Another rest day here. I did do Boot Camp last night for the first time. DD7 did the cardio with me and giggled through the whole, she thought it was so much fun! Kim
 
Lori - I really like the KB too - and I don't usually like kickboxing!

Laura - Do you have a recipe for oatcakes you can share?

I just finished LowMax. I am really looking forward to a rest day tomorrow. My body really needs it. I went from 7-day/week ,2x daily workouts to working out sporadically for a few months. I was overtraining big time, burnt out and slacked off. Now I've "got my game face on" and trying to train more sensibly. So far, I'm likin' it! See you all later!
 
Goodmorning Kate and all that follow...Today was pilates for me I picked up my windsor pilates tape from my friend. Boy I am not graceful at all. The girl in the front must be a dancer she really points hers toes. I thought pilates is suppose to be good for the back? My lower back is killing me now. I will say it was a nice change of pace.

Checking in today with Imax3 done...It was great having a rest day yesterday. But, I needed that cardio today....

Lori: take care of that back. I have never tried that pilates workout. I may stay clear now...I have FIRM's pilates and it is pretty good. I haven't tried any others though..
