Nourishing Gurus

BlakKat,

That's encouraging. I could not make the call today, but will listen to the recorded session. I hate to give up anything! Eggs and Greek yogurt are 2 of my staples. Can't wait to hear what you "can" eat.

Trixoo, please keep us posted on how you like the program. I think, I will pass this time around. I broke my tooth a month ago, I needed a crown on that tooth. That was over $1000:oops: Two hours later, I was in so much pain. I had 2 damaged nerves. Last week my dentist sent me to a Endodonist, she confirmed I had 2 damaged nerves under that tooth, which needed to be removed. I wasn't happy with that. Tuesday I got a root canal on that tooth. I spend another $1000 on that:( I should have them pull that tooth:p LOL!

Oh my gosh, that's awful! I was feeling kind of sorry for myself with almost $4k in unexpected car repairs over the past 2 months, but I'd rather spend it on my car than go through that kind of pain!

I will let you know w AHR I think of the program. I've had seem life complications come up, so despite my best efforts I may not be able to stay with the program the full 21 days, so I'll restart when I can, but I will follow along as its happening!

Fox2star,
It's going to be tough. Atleast you can re-introduce eggs back in after 14 days. Basically to load up on veggies with a side of protein (chicken, fish, etc.) and some healthy fats. I don't like fish, avocado, beans or oatmeal so I am really going to be limited, but they said you do not have to use their recipes - they are just if you want to try them - you can just keep it simple. I'm already calculating what day I can re-introduce certain foods since Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday meal to splurge & enjoy-is that bad.

Have you Deb or BlakKat put your meals together yet? I am trying to do that today. I have never used coconut in so many ways. o_O

Thanks Trixoo! I went all through this trouble eating 1 bit of Ben & Jerry Peanut Butter Cups ice cream:eek: I am not kidding you! I am sorry you had to spend $4k in car repairs. That's a lot of money before the holiday's. Please, keep us posted how you like the program. I may sign up next time? We shall see! Good luck!

Wait! We are done by Thanksgiving right?? LOL....It is also my favorite holiday meal....

Hi fox2star - your Thanksgiving in the U.S. is Nov. 27, right? You should be ok. Program starts Nov. 3 and it goes for 21 days which will take us to Nov. 23.

Hi Jann - That's great you started with your meal planning already. I have only read through the materials yesterday. My mom is having a procedure (biopsy) today so I'm going to try to plan it out while waiting for her then shop on the weekend. I'm most uncertain about breakfast since it has to be super fast and there's not a lot I like in the morning. Mornings are crazy - I get up at 5 to work out with Cathe, shower & get my daughter to highschool by 7:30 and then straight to work for me so I really need to have that planned out ahead! I'm glad I'm not in this alone - I love the support and doing it together - it will be great to hear from everyone once it gets going! Good Luck to all of us!!!

I am planning on making the coconut curry chicken on Monday. It sounds really yummy. I'm most concerned with breakfast as I mainly rely on eggs, greek yogurt, oatmeal and protein shakes. Can't have eggs (first 14 days) or yogurt and my protein shake (Isopure) is not approved. I'd like to try one of the protein shakes they recommend but I've bought so many that I can't stand and don't want to be stuck with a big tub. Oatmeal works but would rather not have it every day. Besides it takes away my choice to have a grain in a later meal.

I plan to follow this program strictly as I am dealing with arthritis, inflammation and transitioning into menopause. My body is no longer responding to "everything in moderation" so it is time to find those triggers that are causing me issues. I like that the gurus do not call this a DIET because it is not. It is a lifestyle and a commitment to our health & well being. I'm ready for that!

I agree NinjaMom! I'm stumped on breakfast - I always have my protein shake or eggs. I don't want to waste money on more tubs of protein powder because like you said there are a lot out there I can't stand. I don't like traditional foods like oatmeal, pancakes, etc. I also am transitioning into menopause and the things that use to work for me, no longer do.

BlakKat -- I hope your mom gets good news! I am a protein shake and egg girl too!
Judi --- I like some of the crockpot meals and lunch salads.
I was looking at the puddings for breakfast. I am post menopause !

I thought that butternut squash breakfast looked good. I bought 3 butternut squashes and plan to roast them this weekend and freeze in individual portions.

As for protein power, they've said VegaSport is okay. Just FYI, you can buy a single portion at Whole Food and maybe other stores, which is a good way to try it without having to buy a whole tub. If you like it, you can get it much cheaper from Vitamin Shop online.

Good luck everybody! Still have to read all the materials...!

Thank you Jann! And, thank you Trixoo for the tip - I will have to check out Whole Foods. They really did give us a lot of information - I think I am going to keep it simple at first and then maybe try a few recipes after I get in the swing of it. Is anyone getting the Spirulina - can you tell me what it taste like?

I don't like to follow a diet is more at life style but I'm not good to prepare food for the week I do everyday, my husband eat different my kids I give from my food, it is hard sometimes ,

Well, I went shopping yesterday and went back out to Trader Joe's today. I think I am ready. I am about to start preparing what I can and will freeze it or bag it for the week.

My DH has decided to do this with me. (( it was either that or he would have to cook for himself

))

I have not tried Spirulina. Do you use it in smoothies?

I've been drinking the warm lemon water and adding 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (acquired taste!) and I swear my bloat is almost gone! I wanted to try the choco protein balls so I broke down and bought the Nutiva hemp powder and hemp seeds. The protein powder wasn't bad in these so I'm hoping the shakes will be palatable and the hemp seeds were yummy. The choco balls satisfy my craving for sweets without sugar other than the raw honey used and the protein is a plus. It is fun trying out foods I'd never heard of nor purchased before.

I can't thank Cathe enough for recommending the gurus! Stephanie & Jane have been awesome and I really think this program is going to be the beginning of a healthier & more energetic ME!

Morning!! Well, I love the cereal mix YUM! I was going to do the pudding decided against it because of some of the reviews and I wanted my first meal to be a good one! ;)
I made the choco balls yesterday, plan to have a couple this afternoon. I licked my fingers when I was making them and they are yummy!
I am doing just the lemon/water for now. I will have to work up to the vinegar - :D

I am having the tuna for lunch and speg squash for dinner.

Now, for my workout -- HighStepCircuit -- circuit workouts this week.

Angela, please talk to Jane and Stephanie about how you're feeling. They are so supportive and I think they can point you in the right direction. Don't give up on this now..we're just starting and we all have a lot of money invested in the ingredients and the course. I think with time your body will adjust. Make sure you're getting enough fats and proteins to give you energy and talk to the Gurus! I can't tell you how good I'm feeling now after doing this now a couple of weeks. I started it from downloading a bunch of stuff from the free part of their website and then joined the program. You will feel good too!

Angela -- please feel free to ask questions and express your feelings about your experiences. It's good for all of us.
I am a terrible cook and just not good at it. I find it incredible when I read how someone adds this or that and it's wonderful, even following a recipe mine is not always wonderful. I agree let Jane and Stephanie help, plus the FB people seem very supportive!!

Good luck!

Good luck to all of you. Keep us posted. Reading all your posts, this sounds very interesting. If they start a program in January, I may give it a try. My life should be slower by then. (probably not) But, nevertheless, keep us posted, and again, good luck!:D
