Lurkers Invitation For The Holidays

Julie I love power max! Glad you enjoyed it and it was doable even with your sore legs. I can relate to forgetting to do your push ups. That happens to me sometimes when I decide to delay something to the evening.
Thanks for the information on PUB and PLB, it sounds like these will be good ones to add to my collection. I really like the Pyramid format. Oh man, planks and pikes on the ball are so tough! You are definitely right that we are not all destined to be pushup queens like Cathe. Man oh man, I dont' know how she does all those pushups!

Janie Great job on TBS. It's nice to have Joey there to workout with again I bet!
Great job on taking that first step with the dogs! I think you are smart taking it slowly and of course making sure that Rolly is always safe. Hopefully this will get them used to seeing you around too. Those Mastiffs are slobbery dogs! It reminds me of that Tom Hanks movie (Hooch or something like that?) where every time the dog shook it's head they showed slobber flying everywhere  Ick!
Cheryl Good for you with your stretching. I'm doing extra stretches after my bonus burns every day, but so far that has been the extent of my extra stretching
Oh yes, your cats are just going to love your weekend guest! Should be interesting. I think our cats would probably just hide the entire time.
Glad DHs back is doing better. Can he do some lower back strengthening, or is there too much risk of him hurting it?

This morning was Cardio and Weights and my bonus burn. I love the 4th combo in that workout and that it's done to build me a buttercup. It always puts me in a good mood. I talked to the poacher at work the other day and I was so mad that I think there was steam coming out of my ears. He is going to be getting some counseling from HR, we'll see how that goes! I hope everyone has a great Saturday. It's cold and windy here today. I was going to go for a bike ride but not in this weather. Have a great Saturday ladies!

Pam

Will walk sometime today in between rains with Rolly.

Cheryl, Great job on your stretches. Have fun baby sitting your neighbors dog. The Kitties will most likely hide. Don't you think?

I agree with the slobbering stuff. YUCK! But, I'll continue on with it in hopes it does get easier.

I hope too, that your DH continues on with a healthy exercise program.

Enjoy your Norwex party tomorrow.

Pam, I remember the Tom Hanks movie . That's exactly what this dog does. LOL:D

Great job on C&W and the bonus burn.

Why is your preacher going to get counseling from HR? I think I missed something.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Janie

Today was Cardio and Weights. I love circuit workouts and this one was so much fun. I loved all the music on it. I also did pushups again.

Janie Great job on TBS which I now know means Total Body Sculpting not Stretching!!! ;) That is great news that you were able to approach the dogs. The barking was probably due to wanting more treats! Mine do that to me! Mastiffs are very, very slobbery. The Tom Hanks movie, Turner and Hooch, used a French Mastiff as the dog. My Oscar is a boxer and they have roots in the mastiff lineage. Oscar is as slobbery as Hooch in that movie! Not all boxers are slobbery but Oscar's jowls hang down much lower than most boxers. The pushups are not getting easier. I agree with Cheryl that Cathe is a robot and that is why she can do so many and make it look so easy! I hope you got a walk in today!

Cheryl I love Stretch Max segment 3. I think the band really helps get you good and stretched. Dog sitting sounds like fun but if your cat is like most cats they will certainly not like it :p but at least it is only for one night! I think the rotation I am doing is from 2005 so that is probably why it uses so many older workouts. They are good. So even though the clothes are funny, the moves will still get ya! Good luck with getting DH to continue with weight lifting and hopefully he will be able to strengthen his lower back so he won’t get hurt again.

Pam That is funny that we ended up doing the same workout today. How often can that happen with the number of workouts Cathe has! I was singing along to Buttercup at the end. Actually I wasn’t really singing but mouthing the words while I was huffing and puffing. :D Glad to see HR is going to step in with someone breaking the rules. Hope he learns from it and doesn’t dismiss it.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Today was 4DS Higher Impact Step Cardio portion only.

Pam Any little bit of stretching you can do is good even if it is only for 5 minutes. The cats are actually fine with Davis. They make sure he knows who is boss though. Tango our youngest cat likes to follow him around and make sure he doesn't do anything he isn't supposed to. I don't want DH to do lower back stretching right now. His lower back is really weak soI don't want to do anythng that will injure it more. Maybe when he has been active for a bit we may be able to do something. Funny I was thinking of doing Cardio and Weights this morning too. However there was a lot that I needed to get done today so I decided to just do 30 minutes of cardio instead. Hopefully HR will set your poacher straight.

Janie I walked Davis this afternoon. At least he doesn't mind the rain at all. As I am typing this DH is taking him out again to do his business. Our kitties are pretty used to having Davis around so they don't hide. I think once the dogs get used to you and the treats it will get better. I hate dogs that slobber. We used to have two bassetts that lived next to us (these were huge bassetts too not cute little ones). They slobbered so much you didn't want to pet them at all.

Julie Cardio and Weights is a fun workout. As I told Pam I almost did that one today too. I agree that the band helps you get a good stretch in. I don't think our cats are really thrilled with having Davis here but they are pretty tolerant of him but they let him know if he gets out of line. This is the first time we have had him overnight so we will see how it goes. I think that is what is so good about Cathe, even the old workouts get you, you don't grow out of them. Hopefully we can get DH lower back stronger but we will need to take it slow. His lower back is pretty weak.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Cheryl

Well...

I have briefly gone back and skimmed all of your posts of the last several days. I didn't grab every detail, but I got enough to know that you are all moving forward, facing fears (Janie and the dogs);), and that I am NOT up on all of the abbreviations for Cathe's many workouts! :p

Oh, and about Cathe being a robot...I don't know about that, but I am suspicious that her dumbbells are filled with nothing but air when doing sit-and-stands.:p:p

I am on a mission to lose weight during this upcoming holiday season. Yes, that's right...I said, "lose weight". When it comes time to make New Year's Resolutions, mine will be to maintain. Maintain my weight, by maintaining good eating and workout habits.

This means that I am going to have to get my workouts started by 5:00 a.m. every day. Since I don't always know when (or if) I will be called in to work, this is the only way I can be certain that I am putting myself first, and be ready to face whatever the day might throw at me. I am hoping it will only take a short time to get used to this routine again. I also need to check in here for encouragement and advice on a daily basis.

I have a few nagging injuries that have been hampering me, too. Two bad shoulders and now a knee that clicks every time I squat. I have started wearing a brace for my knee, which seems to help stabilize it, but the shoulders...:( I just have to modify and do the best I can.

My weekend alone will be over in a few hours. I got lots of things done around the house, but I will be glad when my DH and daughter get home. It's no fun cooking for one.

Have a wonderful Sunday. I will let you know how tomorrow's early a.m. workout goes!

Helen

I am sooo tired right now and it is not even 7:30. I hate the time change. I fell asleep on the couch last night and when I went to bed I totally forgot about setting the clocks back. So this morning when I woke up the clock said 6 a.m. and I could hear that Davis wanted out of his kennel.. So up I get and start getting my shoes on so I could take him for a walk and it then struck me......it is only 5 a.m......
Since I was already up I took Davis out so he could do his business and decided that I might as well stay up. So I had breakfast played with the cats and dog, cleaned out the fridge and took Davis for another walk before I had to go to yoga. I felt like I had already put in a day by 9 a.m.

Helen That was my comment about Cathe being a robot, especially with those push ups. I like your comment about her dumbbells being filled with air with the sit and stands :D. I will be right there with you to lose weight before the holiday season and to keep it off. We can help each other along. I have lost some weight and it feels so good. It seems that the only time is the morning where nothing else gets in your way. I start my workouts by 4 a.m. and I know Julie starts hers between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Pam and Janie are luckier that they don't have to get up so early. What I have found that works for me is eating healthy and getting at least 7 hours sleep. I feel like I have more energy. With your shoulder and knee problems it is best to modify. I have to do that with some exercises with my back. I either have to lift really light and not do it at all. Let us know how it went tomorrow morning.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Cheryl

Janie Hope you were able to get your walk in with Rolly and avoid being slobbered on! It wasn't my preacher getting counseling, it's my poacher! I had to laugh when I read that about the preacher!!

Julie That is funny that we both did Cardio and weights on Saturday. I really enjoy that one, especially because it ends with such a fun combo. Our Boxer wasn't too slobbery, but sometimes when we were eating he would sit there and watch us and drool would start dripping out of his mouth....ICK!

Cheryl It sounds like the dog sitting went pretty well. I can't imagine my cats being so tolerent of an intruder in the house!
That's funny that you almost did C&W on Saturday too!

Helen It sounds like you have a good plan for getting your workouts in. That would be tough if you have no idea when/if you are going to get a call for work. I am not crazy about the 5 am thing, but I do love getting my workout done first thing.
We will be here to support you in your goals. That is an ambitious goal to lose weight during the holidays, but I have faith that you can do it! Be careful with those shoulders and that knee though. Did DH and DD have a good hunting weekend?

Cheryul I know what you mean baout the time change. I had forgotten about it. I woke up Sunday morning and looked at the clock and it was 6:48 so I decided to stay in bed for awhile. 30 minutes later I looked at the other clock (the one that doesn't change automatically) and it said 8:13. It took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on! I liked having the extra hour though. I felt like I got so much done yesterday! You got a full day in before 9:00 a.m. though! I wasn't quite that productive!

Yesterday was my day off and my big accomplishment for the day was finishing cleaning out my pantry. I started 2 weeks ago and finished yesterday. I hate doing it, but it's so nice having it done. This is my HiiT week before leaving for Canada. This morning was 40/20 and Core Max 1. 40/20 felt good today, I think it's good to do it after a day off. Now it's time to work, have a great Monday everyone!

Pam

This morning I did CTX Kickbox cardio portion only, a 35 minute interval run and some pushups. I will be doing Muscle Endurance tonight when I get home. With the holidays coming, I am trying to up my cardio sessions to burn the extra calories I know I will be eating. We'll see how it goes!

Cheryl Good job on 4DS HI Step! Anyone who can do that is awesome in my opinion. I just can’t seem to get either of the step routines down in 4DS so I tend to avoid them like the plague. My DH has lower back issues too. He has actually been to physical therapy for it and they have given him at home exercises to do to strengthen his back. Does he do them? No! Does he still complain about his back? Yes! At least your husband is doing something. I so wish mine would get on board with attempting to get healthy! I agree the time change stinks! What makes it really hard is that dogs are very structured with eating, going out, etc. They just intuitively know that it is their normal feeding time and don’t care what the actual clock says. My dogs are used to getting fed at 5am. So on Sunday, they woke us up at 4 because well it was still 5 to them!

Helen Glad to hear from you! Losing weight over the holidays can be hard but having a plan like you do will certainly help! I don’t think it will take you too long to get used to morning workouts. Once you get started, you will appreciate getting your workout in and done with so as you said you can face whatever the day throws at you! I have knee issues too. Mine don’t click but they can get a sharp, biting pain in them if I don’t wear my knee strap during high impact exercises. I feel your pain on cooking for one! Since my husband doesn’t eat like me, I am often cooking just for me or having to freeze leftovers so I am not forced to eat the same thing for several days in a row.

Pam Great job on 40/20! I haven’t done a Hiit workout in so long and I miss it! I hate cleaning out my pantry and refrigerator too but it is so nice to get things organized. I really need to clean my deep freezer out. I might try to do that this winter it gets super cold and I keep things outside while the deep freezer defrosts. So not looking forward to doing that!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!

Cheryl & Pam: Thank you very much. Your support means a lot.

I started my warm up at 5:15. A little later than I wanted to, but I was finished with the workout, showered and breakfast started cooking by the time I had to wake my daughter up at 6:30. My shoulders held up well, but I did lighten my weights a bit. The burn was still good, though. It's too early to say that I'm on a roll, but it really felt great to have my workout done. I got a call at 7:30 to come in to school and I have to be there in about 30 minutes.

I did skip the last set of pushups, but I held plank with my hands on a stability ball for the entire time Cathe and her crew were doing pushups. That counts for something, right??

Have a good day. And thanks again for the support.
Helen

I woke up being really dizzy and nauseous so I called my doctor and she told me to go to urgent care. They said I had vertigo. A virus in the inner ear. He gave me meds and I already feel better. Tomorrow I'll try working out.

Julie, Great job on C&W. I like that one a lot too.:) I must have de ja vue, because I feel like I already posted a message to you about dogs. I'm losing my mind, that's all there is to it. I'm wondering why the push ups aren't getting any easier? Hmmmmm The Mastiff remimded me of what you said in Hooch and Hutch movie as well. LOL

Cheryl, Great job on 4DS, not an easy workout by any means. Well done. Yeah, I don't like the slobbery stuff from the dog either. EWWWEE.

Helen, Congratulations on wanting to lose weight. You can do this! Love the idea to maintain when it comes next year instead of losing. Great attitude! It doesn't take long to get into an exercise habit at all. Especially when you've schedule it. You can be sure there will be lots of great encouagement and advice here on this forum. There is nothing wrong with modifying, I do it all the time and the exercises still work. You and I both; don't like cooking along either.

Pam, Wasn't able to get out with Rolly that day. Rained very hard, no break in the weather. I better start getting ready for the treadmill on those kinds of days. Just feel sad for Rolly.

LOL:eek: about the preacher mix up on my part. Now, what is a poacher?

On your day off it looks as if you got caught up on things in the house. Great job on 40/20 and core max.

My steal cut oats and two egg whites are done and I'm starving.LOL

Have a great day everyone.

Janie

Janie: I hope your vertigo doesn't keep you down for long!

My husband has back issues, too. And high blood pressure. And about 50 lbs. to lose. But he won't do anything about it either. It's one of my daily prayers that someday he'll see the light.

I am writing today down as a success! :D As you all know, I got my workout done early and I managed to have a good eating day, too! I had my normal post workout breakfast of 1 whole egg and 4 egg whites with a slice of whole grain toast and avocado. I packed 1/2 a chicken sandwich on whole grain bread for lunch with some Greek yogurt as my sweet treat. The only problem was that the teacher I was subbing for has a lunch time of 11:00 - 11:25 a.m.! By 3:15, as the kids were just about to be dismissed, my stomach was growling like there was no tomorrow! I need to pack some almonds to keep in my pocket for tomorrow!

On to Day 2. Tomorrow's early bird workout is Plyometrics.

Have a good night!

Helen

This morning I did STS Disk 4 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps and this evening I helped DH out with his weight work.

Pam Our cats got along pretty good with Davis. It all depends on the dog though. As long as the dog is calm the cats are calm. If he was a really jumpy dog things wouldn't have gone as well. Well getting up at 5 a.m. really does help with getting things done early. However I was so tired by the end of the day I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Doesn't it feel good to get things cleaned that you keep on putting off. I have to do that with my cupboards. It is so messy that I really don't know what I have up there.

Julie I tried to do the cardio in the mornings and the weight work in the evening. I found it too much for me, I hope it works out for you. It took me a while to get the step routine down for 4DS HI Step. I found it really fustrating at first but now I really like that workout. I think you can't nag men to exercise, they need to figure it out for themselves. I was surprised when DH said that he wanted to start lifting weights, but he won't do it on his own. He wants me there too. Now if I could only get him to eat right.....
You know I really wish we didn't change the clocks. I like the idea of things changing naturally not this change the clock back an hour and BAM you are right into darkness early.

Helen It is a good feeling to get your workout done and out of the way. Good thing too since you did get called into work. It can take a while to get into the groove. Sometimes when I just couldn't get out of bed in the morning I would tell myself that I would do it when I got home. Did I do it when I got home.....noooo......I was too tired after waking up early and not getting back to sleep. So now I do it in the morning with no excuses, though I may take Wednesday as my day off. Holding a plank on the stability ball does count for something. That is just as hard if not harder to do than pushups. Good job on your eating too. You don't want to get too hungry or else if you are like me you will scarf down whatever you can get your hands on. Almonds is a smart choice to bring for the afternoon.

Janie Take care of yourself. Be careful with your vertigo, hopefully it will get cleared up soon. Don't exercise tomorrow if you still don't feel 100%. You don't want to get dizzy while you are working out and injure yourself.

Have a great Tuesday.

Cheryl

Julie Wow, quite the morning workout yesterday! Did you get ME in in the afterhoon also?! Good for you!
Animals and their strict schedules can be a pain sometimes can't they? My cats are pretty good about leaving me alone during the week until my alarm goes off, but as soon as that happens they are both on me! On the weekends they are usually not so patient since they are used to that weekday wake up time. I usually have to either push them away a few times or just deal with one of them sleeping on my chest for awhile.
I love the Hiits but may Hiit myself out here over the next couple of weeks. I did 40/20 the week before last, last Monday did the 30/30 and DWP double header and have all 3 hiits scheduled for this week and then again the week of Thanksgiving! I love how quick and intense they are though.
Cleaning out the refridgerator is next on my list. I'm planning on doing that the weekend before Thanksgiving after I get back from Ontario though. I want to have it all done before Thanksgiving food takes over! I did a complete fridge clean out a few weeks ago though so it shouldn't be too bad (hopefully ) I haven't cleaned my freezers out in awhile, I should probably try to do that that weekend too...ugh

Helen I know it's not so easy getting up to start the workout so early, but doesn't it feel great having it already done by 6:30?! I just love that part! Glad to hear that your shoulders held up well too! I think that planks are almost as hard as pushups, so I wouldn't worry about that modification. I almost always have to do some kind of modification on the push ups, I have no idea how they are able to do so many!!!

Janie Oh no, sorry to hear about your vertigo. That sounds scary! I hope you didn't drive yourself to the urgent care! Glad to hear that your meds are helping though.
Sorry to hear you and Rolly weren't able to get your walk in, hope that your weather was better yesterday.
The poacher is the guy at work who was trying to hire all of my people - I posted about it about a week and a half ago. I haven't heard any more from him, so hopefully HR has been in contact with him and has been able to set him straight.
I did get caught up around the house on Sunday and got some work done on my lamp as well. I have all the pieces cut out and am now working on the next step, which is wrapping all of them with copper foil tape to get ready for soldering. I really like this part because it's when you can start to see the colors. It always makes me motivated to get it done.

Helen I sure hope your DH sees the light with his health too. I know it can be frustrating but you can't make them do it, they have to want to.
Great job with your workouts and your eating yesterday! :D I am always hungry for lunch by 11:00 but try to hold out until at least 11:30. I do bring a piece of fruit to work with me to eat as my morning snack when the stomach starts growling and I usually need an afternoon snack also. If I don't I end up eating everything in sight when I get home!!

Cheryl You are making me want to do STS. I definitely have to start another rotation soon! Did you redo the 1 RMs or just use what you used last time? That is the biggest issue for me - I remember how long it took to do all those 1 RM tests.
It's great to hear that your DH is still keeping up with his weights as well.
Yes, it felt great to get my pantry cleaned out. It is a really big pantry and it was a mess. It feels so good to walk in there now! We'll see how long it lasts though. The rest of the family has a habit of just sticking things on any empty spot in there rather than where they found it. Errrrrr. It's a never ending battle!
I agree with you on changing the clocks - I wish we would just leave them alone!

This morning was PUB. I bought the download yesterday and I loved this workout. It just flew by! You were right about all those pikes and planks Julie, I just could not do all of those pikes. I modified some of them just pulling in my knees. It was still a killer though. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Pam

Oh boy, I just saw that the new workouts are supposed to start shipping on November 19th! Horray! I can't wait!

Last night I did Muscle Endurance. That was my first time doing that one. All I can say is I can’t believe I made it through all those leg presses! And the glute raises were crazy. I feel it in my hiney (sp?) today! :D

This morning I did Imax. It seemed harder today than a few weeks ago. Not sure if that was because of ME last night or what but I was really struggling today. I also did pushups. I am trying something new. Since I think the first disk of STS does 8, 8, and 30, I thought that is what I would try for. I am doing the first two sets of 8 on my toes and then doing as many of the 30 on my toes as possible before finishing up on my knees. Right now I can get 14 on my toes before having to go to my knees. I am trying to make sure that I push myself to add an additional pushup every couple of days.

Janie Sorry to hear about your vertigo. I can’t imagine that is too much fun. As Cheryl said, make sure you are 100% better. Getting dizzy and losing your balance or falling will not be good! It’s ok to lose your mind. Happens to the best of us and I believe it is necessary in life to lose your mind every once in awhile! No the pushups are not getting any easier but I am going to keep at ‘em. Some days I feel I can get full range of motion and go down closer to the ground. Other days … I am lucky to get halfway down. You mentioning steel cut oats made me crave them. I had them for the first time a few weeks ago and they were so good. I cooked them with some chopped up dried apricots, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and then added a small amount of brown sugar when they were done. They were so yummy!

Helen Good job with yesterday. All you can do is take it one day at a time! Just curious, you said you had avocado for breakfast. I love avocados but have never had them with breakfast. Did you put it on your eggs or toast or just eat it out of the shell? I have heard of people putting them on eggs and toast but have never tried it. I think packing almonds for snacking is a great idea. Way to be planning ahead! :D

Cheryl Great job on STS #4 and helping DH out with his weight work! I really try not to nag my DH about working out or eating better but sometimes it is hard when he complains about being out of breath or not feeling good. It takes all my will to not say “Well, if you took better care of yourself you probably wouldn’t have as many problems.” Instead, every once in awhile, I just tell him that if he ever wants to lift weights with me, I would love it! I really don’t know how long trying to do 2 workouts a couple of days a week will last. I really just want it to last until the new year to get me through the holidays but we will see. I am not going to risk injuring myself so I will just have to be extra tuned in to my body.

Pam Great job on PUB! Glad you liked it! I usually have to modify the last several pikes by just bringing my knees in too! They are killers! I did get ME in and it was a doozy! My arms and booty have some DOMS today! Our dogs don’t get on top of us (usually) when they want to get us up (thank goodness since one weighs 65 pounds and the other is 75) but they will stick their snouts in our faces with their cold, wet noses and then lick us until we get up. Sometimes they get the hint when we bury our faces under the covers and will leave us alone for 10 minutes but usually that just makes them more whiney and persistent. Unfortunately, dogs have to be let out which means one of us has to get out of bed on the weekends! :p

Thanks for the pats on the back, everyone. I can see (and feel) that the support and encouragement is just what I need. I hope to be able to give as good as I get as I get to know you all better! :)

Today's workout was Cardio X. It's about 45 minutes long and has a little bit of everything in it...yoga, kenpo karate, plyometrics, etc.. I was going to do Plyometrics (about an hour), but my back felt a little iffy this morning, so I opted to go a little bit lighter. It was still a good workout and I was feeling those stability ball planks I did yesterday! I brought an apple with me to school today and ate that as I did lunchroom duty (about 90 minutes after I'd finished my own lunch). That made me feel much better.

Today was "bring in something baked to share day" for the faculty. I didn't get that memo, so I didn't bake anything to share. But I was encouraged to "have just one" of something. I tell you, there were more cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, Rice Krispy treats, and cupcakes than in any bakery I have ever been in!! I did have just one dark chocolate chip cookie with pecans (it wasn't worth it) and I watched as quite a few teachers filled dinner sized plates with more treats than they should eat in a month. (Some went back for seconds) and most of them (all women) walked away with their loaded up plates saying, "I really shouldn't be eating this..." It really was eye-opening for me. They tell me they do this every other month!!

Julie: I spread the avocado on my toast in the morning. So tasty!

What is PUB? Can't figure that one out...

Tomorrow's workout is STS Disc 2 Back & Triceps before I go to the dentist. Then I'm having lunch with my parents. My mom (who is 73 years old) is training for a marathon and I can't wait to hear all about it! My dad used to be a runner, but had to have both hips replaced several years ago. Now he's content to cheer Mom on! :)

Have a good night! :)Helen

This morning was HiiT 30/30 and Pilates based abs.

Pam I didn`t redo the 1 RMs because it did take so long to do them the first time. I am just using what I had down the first time and it still works for me. When the new workouts come out I may just have to take a break from STS and do them :D. DH was keeping up with the weights but his back went out on him today so now he is on painkillers. Hopefully he will be back at it next week. Don`t you wish that people would put things where they belong. I am sure you couldn`t get the rest of your family to clean the pantry could you, since they are the ones who are messing it up. I like PUB but I have a hard time doing those pikes and planks too after doing all of that arm work.

JulieYou do a lot of leg presses in Muscle Endurance. I like the glute raises, I think they are fun  Some days are harder than others, it could have been because you worked out the night before. I found it hard doing the two workouts a day but listen to your body. If it is working for you go for it.

Helen It is good to do something a bit lighter if your back is bothering you. You don`t want to injure it more. They bring in all that baking every month  and load their plates up with it. I bet all the people who loaded their plates up are the ones who complain about their weight too. Good for you in having only one thing.
PUB stands for Pyramid Upper Body. That is a good workout along with PLB Pyramid Lower Body. I just did STS Disc 2 Back and Triceps last week. I am doing Disk 5 tomorrow Back and Triceps. We will do the same workout tomorrow just different disks. Good for your mom to be training for a marathon at 73. When is the marathon that she is training for?

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

This morning I did the cardio portions only of CTX 10/10/10 and Step & Intervals plus I did the abs from PS Shoulders, Legs, and Abs. I woke up feeling a little nausea. Not sure why. It really didn’t go away until I started Step & Intervals so I didn’t get to enjoy 10/10/10. I’ll have to try that one again. I did do my pushups and today I worked up to 15 on my toes before dropping to my knees. I think that may be the secret to getting better—just adding one more each couple of days. Now that I said that I probably do horrible tomorrow!

Helen Great job on Cardio X and listening to your body to take it easier with your back. All Plyo probably wouldn’t have been good for it. We have food days at work all the time it seems. On every birthday and during the entire month of December there is about 10 food days. I avoid them like the plague and will not even go in the room that the food is kept in. My co-workers have given up on trying to get me to eat food on food days and they know whenever they order out that I most likely will not be ordering with them. I will have to try the avocado on toast. Sounds yummy! That is amazing that your mother is running at marathon at 73!!! I cannot fathom running one myself and I am more than half her age! Good for her!!

Cheryl Great job on Hiit and abs! I did enjoy the glute raises especially since I could feel them working. Sometimes you do an exercise and don’t feel it so you wonder if it is doing anything. Working out this morning may not have been the best idea with feeling nausea but I was already up and dressed in my workout clothes so I figured I would give it a go knowing I wouldn’t be able to go all out intensity. I am feeling better now so that is good.

Julie I hope your hiney is feeling better today! :p Leg presses are definitely not my favorite but they are effective. Great job on ME and Imax! It is funny how a workout can feel so much easier/harder on different days. We are very complicated machines! You are doing great with your push ups too, let me know if you figure out the trick to making them easier!
Our Boxer used to come sit beside the bed and put his paw on it next to my head when he wanted to go out. He would keep lifting it and dropping it down hard until I finally would give in and get up and let him out. They know who the suckers are though - he never bothered my husband in the morning and neither do the cats

Helen I have never heard of Cardio X, how do you like it? Is the plyometrics workout that you mention from the same instructor (instructors?) I love Cathe's plyo legs workouts! That Cardio X sounds interesting. Hope your back is feeling better. It's definitely smart not to push it when it is feeling iffy though.
Something baked to share day sounds very dangerous! I do love rice krispy treats and they are not too bad from a calorie standpoint. Too bad that your cookie wasn't worth it - it sounds like it would be worth it! I can't believe they do that every month. Wow!

Sorry for all of the abbreviations, PUB is pyramid upper body. It's a great upper body workout and I am definitely feeling it today!
How awesome that your mom is training for a marathon! What an inspiration. That is so cool! Neither of my parents ever exercised just for the purpose of exercising and most of my family can't understand me doing it

Cheryl Your workout yeserday was a lot like mine today - I did Hiit 30/30 and weights and plates abs.
I think that I probably will skip the 1 RMs the next time too, it just took way too long. I am excited about the new workouts. Did you see that Cathe has challenged everyone to do intensity on US Thanksgiving? I am going to try, but I am going to have a housefull of guests so I'm not sure if I'l be able to. Several of them are going to do a turkey trot that morning though so I'm hoping that I'll be able to sneak up and do intensity while they are gone.
So sorry to hear about your hubby's back going out on him - was it because of the weight work that he has been doing? I hope not!
You are right, there is no way I could ever get anyone else to clean out the pantry! my youngest step son always complains about the way that my tupperware is organized. I've told him that any time he wants to reorganize it he is more than welcome. I don't expect that to ever happen!
I have a hard time with the pikes even when I haven't done all the arm work first, but AFTER, forget about it!

Janie I'm worried about you, I hope you are ok! I hope you are taking it easy and taking care of yourself and getting rid of that vertigo.

As I already mentioned, my workout this morning was Hiit 30/30 and weights and plates abs. 30/30 seemed like a breeze after last weeks double header and then Monday's 40/20. The weights and plates abs on the other hand.......ay yi yi! My bonus burn push ups were really hard this morning because I have DOMS from PUB yesterday. Ouch! It's a good hurt though! Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Pam

Yesterday Joey and I did TBS, was too rainy to walk Rolly. Today is beautiful outside and will take him out ASAP.

Vertigo seems to be gone. I know, I'm very lucky it went away so quickly. I read about it on the internet, wow. Someone is watching over me for sure.

Cheryl,Great job on STS Chest, Shoulders and Biceps yesterday and today on HIIT 30/30. Love that one.

You are so good to spot your honey.

Julie, Great job on the abs work and cardio of 10/10/10. Aren't they fun?

Hope you are not coming down with something. Drink lots of fluids.

I agree wholeheartedly that doing one more push up every couple of days is thee way to add more push ups to your routine. Well done!

Pam, Thank you so much for being worried about me. I've been buying rubber stamps on EBay and time just gets away from me. Before I knew it, was time for bed, and I didn't even get a chance to post.

I'm so lucky that I don't have anymore vertigo. Like I said above, someone is really watching over me.

Great job this morning with HIIT 30/30 and abs. I bet is was easier than what you were doing. Good for the body to relax just a bit, but I know this workout isn't a breeze in the park either. Very well done.

Take care everyone,

Janie
