Lurkers Invitation For The Holidays

Good morning everyone!

Today I did Maximum Intensity Strength. I love total body workouts but by the time I get to shoulders, biceps, and triceps, I am pooped out and don’t feel like I can lift as heavy as I could. I actually did extra pushups afterwards (4 sets of 10). It had been awhile since I had done them and I think my body noticed!

Cheryl Great job on S&H Bi & Tri! What a bummer about the yoga instructor not showing up but as you said at least it was free so you didn’t lose any money on it. Sorry to hear about your cold. :( I hate when I have troubles breathing especially if I can’t breathe through my nose. I hope you feel better soon. It is rainy here (not too cold but rainy). We had 50 mph winds this morning which is actually the first storm for this Fall. Guess winter is coming and I better start getting prepared!

Pam Great job on Imax and the bonus burn! I am so jealous of your weather! Sunday was nice here (70s) but then Monday was rainy and this morning was some more rain with 50 mph winds! There are a few different brands of black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream in my area. One is the store brand “Private Selection” and the other is Graeter’s. Graeter’s has cleaner ingredients and is much tastier but also expensive and hard to find sometimes. I do love Cherry Garcia. I also like the Fudge Brownie by Ben & Jerry. :p

Janie Good job on MM! Sorry to hear about your grandson coming down with a cold. It is getting to be that time of year. It is too bad that the dog is running loose again. I would hope it was an accident that he got loose but given the history that is doubtful! Even though I love big dogs and think that dog is adorable, I will admit that if I ran into him I would be a little nervous too. And no matter how friendly he may be (or his owner thinks he is), he should not be let loose to run the neighborhood! It is too bad you have to take pictures to prove what an irresponsible owner he is being!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Janie ERRRRRRRRRR...keeping the dogs in sure didn't last long did it? i wonder what the big deal is about keeping them in their own yard? it seems like such a simple and logical request. Sorry to hear about all of your rain too. We got a hard rain yesterday for a little while and then a storm overnight, but it is supposed to be quite warm all week. Highs in th e80's and lows in the 70s!
Great job on MM, that really is a good one!Sorry to hear you didn't get to babysit, but at least it sounds like you'll have other opportunities. Joey can stay up until 10 and get up between 1 and 3? Wow! I need so much more sleep than that! I am a true believer that we are only as old as we feel and Cathe is helping to keep all of us young! So glad your Joey will be home soon. I do enjoy my time to myself, but I am really glad when DH comes home!
I will post a picture of the pumpkin creation as long as it turns out ok! :p

Cheryl Sorry to hear about your cold. How annoying! I hate getting colds, it seems like it takes them so long to go away. I am usually coughing for about 4 weeks  I hope you got a good night's sleep last night.

Sorry, didn't mean to rub it in about the nice weather  Snow skiing, wow! We would have been water skiing on Sunday if my DH hadn't had a tee time! We have a fantastic farmer's market here, I've been trying to go more lately.

Julie Good job on MIS, that is a TOUGH one! You're doing great with your push ups too. I keep doing mine every day but they are not getting easier and they aren't any easier in the workouts either  OK, we have to stop talking about ice cream, it's making me hungry! There are so many good Ben and Jerry's flavors!

Hi Helen I hope you are doing well! Come catch up when you can.
Hi Debbie I hope you are doing well!

This morning was High Step Training for me. It seems like this one and HSC have been in my rotations a lot lately but I really like them. I love the format and the time goes by so quickly, despite the one arm dips, hover squats and sit and stands - OUCH! Then I did my bonus burn. I think the bonus burn is really doing the trick for me. All of those extra pounds are gone plus another one! Yea! Now I just need to manage to keep it here through the upcoming holidays  We will have to help each other stay strong through the next 2 months! Have a great day everyone.

Pam

Did Rhythmic Step. I forgot about how much I love that one. Will have breakfast and try walking sometime today with Rolly. Rainy Rainy and then threats of rain.

Went on line and saw a dog very close to what this animal looks like. I think the big gray dog is part Napoleon Mastiff. One of the largest dogs there is. I remember years ago while we were talking neighbors, that he mentioned Mastiff. They also have one that is part Pit Bull, and another one I have no idea what the breed could be then yet another one that is husky, short and a patchy brown. These are the dogs that usually terrorize us together (in a pack). Don't get me wrong, I love dogs with all my heart, but afraid when they are in a pack. Nervous of big dogs in general, but can warm up to them under controlled circumstances.

I just figured something out. Bert (my horrible neighbor) lives in Tacoma and works at Boeing from Tues. through Friday. He's in Shelton on Sat., Sun., and Mon. I also took a look (while he is gone) at the gate. He put the gate up on the easement part of the road, it has a fence connected on both sides to it, but only runs down the road for a short way and then it ends in the bushes. It's not to keep his dogs from staying in, rather to keep the cars from going any further towards his property. I often wondered how the dogs could get out when the gates were closed, now I know. He's also blocking a second route out of the wood if their is a fire. Now we only have one way out. Not good. Think I'll bring that up in the next meeting.

Rolly and I for sure won't walk the woods on Sat., Sun., and Mon. But will definitely obtain more evidence as time goes on.

I bet you all are getting tired of this, so I'll keep it to myself until I just have to vent again. I've calmed down knowing that there is permanent records coming along and if needed will use the evidence to help us someday make this jerk keep his dogs behind his fence. Thank you so much for your patients and ear. Much appreciated. I don't know what I would have done without you supporting my venting. Really, this will be a long drawn out thing.

Cheryl, So, so sorry about your cold. Must have been a strain you weren't immuned to. Stay warm, drink lots of liquids, especially with lemon in it. Take whatever meds work for you, and rest a lot. Thank you for your support on the dog issue.

Julie, Great job on MIS and the extra push ups. About the dogs getting lose, they are always getting lose, there is no accidents, he simply dosen't care.

Pam, The big deal for keeping the dogs in his own yard is nothing, he is just lazy and simply doesn't care about anyone but himself. Your weather sounds wonderful, do enjoy it. I love hearing about nice weather.

Joey stays up the latest around 8pm and gets up in the morning around 1 to 3 am. He can't help it. Poor guy.

I am so glad Joey is coming home to. I miss him!

Great job on HST and bonus burn. Congratulations on losing pounds. Yeah is right! Your right, we'll keep each other in check during the Holidays.

Like Pam says, hi to Helen and Debbie, hope you are doing well, and come join us when you can.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Well I stayed home from work today. I thought my co-workers would be happy about that then me coming in and sniffling all day long. So no workout today either, maybe tomorrow if I can breath.

Julie You are doing really well with the push ups. Maximum Intensity Strength was one of my first Cathe workouts. I did see a difference in my strength and tone when I did that one all the time. I very rarely get colds so I am not a happy camper right now. I rarely take sick days either so this is really weird for me. Yes winter is on it's way. Living in the Pacific Northwest you have to like the rain since it can rain steadily for months at a time. It is only getting up to 55 degrees during the day here.

Pam It does seem to take a long time for colds to go away. They really do seem to linger. I did have a good nights sleep, here's hoping for another one. I was just giving you a hard time about the nice weather you were having. I am really jealous of you right now. I could use some warm weather to help get over my cold. We are actually supposed to get a lot of snow this year. Two years ago we got so much we didn't know where to put it. The snow was piled over 12 feet in places. Those one arm dips are a killer. I can do a few of them but not all. Glad that you lost those extra pounds and then some. Yes with the Halloween candy, Thanksgiving for you guys and Christmas we will need to help each other stay on track.

Janie The weather really sucks in our neck of the woods doesn't it. Rhythmic Step is fun. That was one of my favorites for a long time. Mastiff's are very large dogs. They can get to be over 100 pounds. One of my co-workers got a Mastiff as a puppy and before long it outweighed his wife. Though his wife was just a tiny thing. I have been drinking a lot and have my wool socks on. Ohhh they are so nice and warm. I got some Cold FX in my Olympic package so I am taking that. Never did need it during the Olympics and I am not sure if it is working or not  That will be nice for you to have Joey home with you again. Especially with that stupid neighbour Bert and those darn dogs.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

This morning I did Imax 2 and the stability ball abs from Kick, Punch, Crunch. I also did 40 pushups again. My chest and shoulders were really sore from MIS yesterday so those pushups felt a little like torture today!

I was wondering, for those of you that have been with Cathe for a few years, does SNM have any good sales for the holidays? Since I want to buy the STS program, the tower, and possibly the weighted vest, I didn’t know whether the $40 coupon right now is a good deal or whether I should hold out for awhile.

Pam Great job on HST! How different is that from High Step Challenge? I have HSC but not HST and HST is coming up in my December rotation. I wasn’t sure whether to just sub HSC or whether I should just buy HST. I don’t remember HSC having one arm dips so maybe I should get it. Great job on losing the pounds! That’s really awesome! Yes the next few months will require extra support but I think we can all pull each other through it! ;)

Janie Great job on RS! I love that one! Mastiffs are huge dogs and can definitely be scary. It definitely sounds like your neighbor only cares about himself or just is not very bright! Feel free to talk about your troubles (or hopefully victories soon) regarding this. We are all here to support each other whether it is fitness/health related or just life in general. That is so exciting that Joey is coming home!

Cheryl Good job on resting! I would think your coworkers would indeed be happy that you are keeping your cold to yourself! :) I know I always find hot tea to help when I have a stuffy nose. Green tea has a lot of antioxidants in it if you enjoy green tea. I am not that fond of plain green tea but really like the Lipton cranberry pomegranate flavored green tea. Hope you get good rest and feel well enough to go back to work soon.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Janie I just love Rhythmic Step. That one always puts a smile on my face. Sorry to hear about all of your rain :( I hope you and Rolly are able to sneak a walk in between raindrops.

You're right, that dog does look like he at least has Mastiff in him. Your neighbor obviously doesn't care about his neighbors OR his own dogs since roaming around free can really put them in danger. People like that just should not be allowed to have animals!
So are you saying that even if the gate is closed there is no fence to keep the dogs in? That is crazy. He does not sound like a nice person at all! We don't mind you talking about it here, I know it usually helps to get these things off your chest.

Joey sure does have a crazy schedule! I was going to ask what he does at that hour of the morning, but probably the same thing that he would do if he got up later huh?!

Cheryl I think you were smart to stay home when you weren't feeling good. So many people these days come to work no matter how sick there are, and they can't be productive when they are feeling so bad AND they make everyone else sick too. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Our weather is really wacky right now. It's supposed to be 87 today!! This kind of weather this time of year is always a little scary because tornados and nasty storms pop up.

Julie Speaking of nasty storms, looks like you had some doozys up your way yesterday. Glad to see that it looks like you made it through ok. Great job on Imax 2, another goody! I BET those pushups were hard after MIS, great job!

I don't really remember if Cathe has good sales around the holidays, hopefully someone else will know. The $40 coupon seems like a good deal, but it's hard to say! Sorry I am no help here at all!
HST is VERY similar to HSC so you could definitely substitute it. It is the same format but HSC is a little more focused on endurance. I think they are pretty similar as far as intensity. HST does have the one armed dips and in addition to hover squats she also does sit n stands - just throws it all in! I got HSC because Io like HST and I'd say comparing them is kind've like comparing the different Imaxs. It's nice to have both, but not a must. HTH

This morning was supposed to be 50 minutes on the bike and Core Max 1, but since my ipod is tanked I didn't feel like doong 50 minutes on the bike without tunes. I subbed 40/20 instead and did Core Max 1 and my bonus burn. I figured that even though it is shorter it is so intense that it counted! Then I had a really fun morning. We have a program at work where we can email mentor a middle school student, and then twice a year we have in person events with them. This morning was our event here at IBM, so the kids came here and we got to spend the morning with them building lego robots, then we had lunch. It was really fun. I have a 6th grader this year so I will get to stick with her through middle school which will be nice. She is so cute! I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

Pam

Well I was feeling better so I went to work today. No workout today either but I am hoping that I can get back into the swing of things tomorrow. I am really missing it.

Julie I seem to remember that Cathe announced in April that April is going to be the month where you will get the great deals. I think that is the month where she got into her business. You may want to go back and do a search for it but I think the deals were pretty good. I wanted the tower but with the shipping and how our dollar was doing it was still quite expensive for me to get it. However if you have a $40 coupon right now don't let it go to waste. I like green tea but I haven't had it in a while. I should get some more and bring it to work.

Pam I thought I heard on the news tonight that North Carolina did get tornados today? Scary stuff, the weather seems to be really wacky right now. Wow 87 is hot, it was a balmy 60 here :D but we did have a nice blue sky. You could see the snow on top of the mountains too. Riding the bike with no tunes would be very boring. I think you probably burned more calories doing 40/20 than you would have doing the bike. That would be fun to have kids to mentor. I know the boy who lives across the street from us would be jealous to know that you were building lego robots. He is into lego big time.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

Cheryl

Joey and I did TBS using heavy weight. LOL:D Big surprise. Went walking in the wood with Rolly about 30 min.

Dogs were out today (took pictures), and Joey wished I wouldn't make waves with our neighbor. He says it's very rude that the neighbor does allow this. The authorities can't help us.

Maybe trying to make friends with his animals is a better way to approach this problem. (if I ever get the courage to face these dogs) I don't know. Joey is usually right on these matters, something to seriously consider. He says nothing can come of it, there is nothing that can be done, except hurt feelings on our part.:( It is a no leash law and a no win situation. Maybe treats are in order instead of a bullet. It is a peaceable way of looking at it, or a Gandhi way of doing. Hmmmmm. What would I do without my Joey? In the end, his perspective takes on a whole new look. However, I will continue to take pictures and gather evidence. You never know if we may need them.

My venting drama is winding down, but I'm still so very mad at this person for making us go through this for so many years and will continue his escapades no matter who he offends.

I will be civil towards this man (our neighbor) but oh how I despise him. I don't think I can ever really enjoy myself around him and I so want to make friends with people in the meetings. A game I guess that has to be played out when you are in a public situation.

Cheryl, You poor thing with your cold. Get better soon uh. How was work today, hard for you being all stuffed up? I know you are missing workouts, but it's best to feel better before you start doing them. Give your body a break form it all so it can get rid of that nasty cold.

I believe this Mastiff weighs more than 100 pounds. He is massive!

I love warm wool socks on when the weather is cold and nasty outside. Hopefully Cold FX will help you.;)

Julie, Great job on IMAX II, abs and the 40 push ups. Well done, I know how hard that must be!

The $40.00 coupon is a great deal, it doesn't happen often, take advantage of it.

Thank you so much for your support concerning the darned dogs and p0efe neighbor.

Pam, We are sneaking between rains for our walks and it is fantastic as always.

Thank you for your support on my delima, I agree, he shouldn't have animals.

Great job on 40/20, I really like those short workouts. Also on your abs and bonus burn. It works perfectly well with your program. Very intense workout.

Yes, there is no fence to keep the dogs in and there is nothing more I can do about any of this. It's so disconcerting.

Joey does work in the pole building on his radios and fixes things in and around the house in his early morning hours. He's the man.:)

That is so cool about the kids program at work. I bet is was tons of fun!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Cheryl Glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. Hope you are well enough to do your workout today. I know I start to get a funny tic if I miss my workouts too many days in a row :p
There were some tornados here yesterday in Charlotte, which is about 3 hours from here. We had one in Raleigh about 15 years ago over Thanksgiving weekend and the weather was very much like it was yesterday, very very hot and windy. Whenever that happens in the late fall I think about the night we got the tornado. I was several miles from where it actually touched down, but it just looked like a war zone where it went through. It was very scary.

Janie So funny, yesteday I almost said that since Joey is coming home I guess you'll be doing TBS! Good job with the heavy weights. Glad to hear you and Rolly got a walk in too. I know you are happy to have Joey home and maybe he's right about taking a different approach to the dogs? I know when I get worked up about something I can really build myself into a tizzy, but then DH has a habit of calming it down. Of course when HE gets in a tizzy, forget about it! ;) It would be nice if you can make friends with the dogs because then at least you wouldn't have that worry every time you go out. That is always a little scary with dogs that you don't really know though as you never know how they will react. Treats always help though! I do think you are smart to continue taking your pictures though!

Julie I'm thinking we may end up crossing posts again today!

This morning was legs and glutes, PLUS cardio only from 4DS boot camp plus my bonus burn. Holy Moly! It was tough! That is the first time I've ever done Legs and Glutes and all I can say is ouch! Even stretching hurt after some of those exercises. I feel like I need a nap now! I have been sitting on the phone for 15 minutes now waiting for a conference call to start, but the other person hasn't joined, looks like it is time to give up on her. Have a great Thursday everyone!

Pam

I did Circuit Max today. I had never done that one before but it was so much fun. The time flew by. I really like circuit workouts because of that. Plus this one and Cardio Kicks always makes me smile because of the two guys in the workout and the one that reminds me of Evander Holyfield! :p I also did my four sets of 10 push-ups.

Pam Yes it has been extremely windy here. We have had wind speeds of 50 mph or greater since Monday morning. So far no damage other than some tree limbs falling off our dying tree in the backyard. Thanks for the comparison on HST and HSC. I’ll probably end up getting HST because it is one of the few older workouts I don’t have. I may look into downloading it rather than getting the DVD since there is a $10 difference. Good job on 40/20! I would much rather do 40/20 than bike but I am not much of a biker. Being a mentor sounds like it would be a really neat experience for both of you. Good job on Legs & Glutes too! It has been awhile for me with that one but I remember it being a toughie. If I remember right the stretching at the end is done shoeless. Plus you did the cardio from 4DS Bootcamp and your bonus burn. I bet you do need a nap because I am tired just thinking about it! :p

Cheryl Good to hear you are feeling better! Isn’t it nice (and weird) to miss working out! When I tell people that, they look at me like I am an alien! I keep a box of tea at work and drink a cup every morning, even in the summer. It is my caffeine fix in the morning. I did a search for the sale month and it looks like it is March

http://cathe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=273304&highlight=snm+deals

Hmmm! Now I am debating whether to wait until March to order STS. I had wanted to start it in mid January but if I can save a decent amount of money it might be worth it. Or I could pre-order the calendar and use the 20% off but I really don’t want the calendar. Oh the dilemma! :(

Janie Great job on TBS (although I am not sure if that is Total Body Stretching or something else ) but anything with heavy weights is a good one! Perhaps Joey is on to something here. Kind of reminds me of the phrase “kill them with kindness”. When the dogs are out and they see you, do they seem friendly if you went up to them or are they barking mean and growling at you? If they seem friendly, definitely go with the treats and gain their trust. If it is the latter, I would say the treats may not be the best approach. In that case, you may have to ask your neighbor to properly introduce you to the dogs so they don’t growl at you. That will be tough if he is anti-social and doesn’t care about patching things up with you.

I truly apologize about having a tizzy fit and expressed it at all your expense. I'm usually such a positive and calm spirit. I guess my alto ego came out to play. I'm very embarrassed. All I can say is thank you for letting me go on about it and getting it out of my system. I do appreciate that. I will try to become friends with the dogs.

Did the Wedding Video today, it's been a long time and enjoyed it. To rainy outside for a walk. Poor Rolly.

Pam, LOL:eek:! I new I'd be doing TBS too. I'll make friends with the dogs as best as I can. Treats in hand.

Great job on Legs and Glutes and cardio, and the bonus burn. I can see it being tough. Well done.

Julie, Great job on CM and the bonus burn. CM is a lot fun, I like that one too.

Total Body Sculpting. Lots of fun, and hard work when using heavy weight.

It's been my experience that they bark with their hair standing on end, but never tried to give them treats and "kill them with kindness". I'll try it.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I did Low Max pre-mix this morning. I did 1 - 4 with the warm up and stretch. I felt pretty good. I will get up early tomorrow and do some yoga. I haven't stretched in a while.

Janie Maybe Joey is right to try to make friends with the dogs. It is a fustrating situtation with a fustrating neighbour. I would continue taking pictures they could come in handy. You don't have to apologize for having a tizzy fit. We all have those from time to time (I know I do). Sometimes you need that tizzy fit and to let things out. That's why we are all here, to help each other out whether it relates to fitness or other things.
My cold is much better. I had trouble breathing at work (all of that recycled air) but when I went outside on my breaks it cleared up.

Pam It felt so good to get my workout in today. I hadn't worked out since Saturday so for me that is a long time. Tornados would be scary. I couldn't imagine living where they happen all the time. Whenever I see the news with pictures after the tornado there is not much left. Wow you did have a good workout this morning. I like Legs and Glutes, it is one of those workouts that you don't really feel until it is over (at least for me). I agree that after some of the exercises it hurts to stretch.

Julie Circut Max is fun, not very heavy weights but the time does fly by. Some people just dont' get the concept of working out. I know people have told me "why do you workout? Your're not fat." Ummm that's not the point people......
I used to drink a cup of green tea every morning at work but since I moved to a different building I haven't done it. I think it is time I got back into that habit. I knew there was something in March or April. I remember it being pretty good too. I don't know what to tell you about ordering STS, but a $40coupon is a really good deal too.

Have a great Friday (TGIF) everyone.

Cheryl

Julie I love Circuit Max. it is one of my go to workouts! Glad you enjoyed it. I love circuit workouts because of how they fly by too. That is why I enjoy HST and HSC so much. Now I'll be watching for Evander Holy field the next time I do cardio kicks!
Glad to hear you haven't had any damage. Those strong winds can be very scary! If you are a fan of circuit workouts then I think you will definitely enjoy HST. I've been doing downloads recently too because of the price difference, but I do really like having the dvds. I love my spin bike but I have to have music. I put on my ipod and just do my own spinning class with hills, sprints, etc depending on the music. I got my DH a new ipod last year after he dropped his and broke it but he has never even taken it out of the box, so I'm thinking it's about to be mine :p

Janie You have nothing to apologize for. We all need to vent sometimes and what you are going through is a very frustrating situation. You're right though that you can't blame the dogs for having an idiot for an owner. I would be very careful though - barkiing with hair standing up doesn't sound good so go easy with your plan on making friends with the dogs. The good thing though is that if you do make friends with them then you won't have this worry hanging over you anymore whether they are out or not.

Cheryl So glad to hear that you were feelling well enough to get a workout in this morning. You must be on the mend! I know what you mean about people thinking you're weird for missing your workouts. I guess not many people realize that it really can be enjoyable. It's such a stress reliever for me! My whole family thinks I'm strange (brother, sisters) because none of them have ever exercised just for the sake of exercising. And then of course there are the people who think we are so lucky because you aren't heavy or gaining weight. UHHHHH...it's called hard work! A guy at work told me the other day that I am a 'freak of nature' because I'm not gaining weight as I get older.

TGIF is right, work is very frustrating right now. It should be a fun weekend though. Tonight we are having dinner with 3 neighbor couples and tomorrow night I'm having an 80th birthday party for my mom. My mom, dad and FIL were all born on Halloween if you can believe that! Then of course trick or treat on Sunday. This morning I was supposed to do kickmax but I don't have it so I did KPC instead plus my bonus burn. It was pretty good. Have a great Friday everyone!

Pam

Our house has been really dry lately and the last two mornings I have had a scratchy throat and slightly swollen glands. That has really made it hard to want to workout but I do feel a little better after working out so maybe it is true that exercise boosts your immune system.

Anyway, I did Cardio Kicks today. I also did 40 pushups. The first set of 10 isn't too bad but man those next 3 sets are still just as bad as always.

Janie I didn’t think TBS stood for Total Body Stretching but I was going to be really impressed if you used heavy weights to deepen your stretches! ;) I have never done the Wedding Video but I am sure you rocked it! Good luck with the dogs. It has been my experience that most dogs want to make friends with people because they are social creatures just like us but you have to always approach any dog with caution and bringing treats should certainly help. Good luck! Remember to let us know how things are going (and stop apologizing)! :D

Cheryl Great job on Low Max. Doing the premix was a great way to get back into things after getting over a cold and Low Max certainly not only gets the heart rate up but also works those legs! Yoga stretching sounds great and I have heard that it does wonders for improving your immune system. I think I am going to hold off on buying STS until March and see what kind of deals they have then. I was originally going to do the 3 ½ month STS rotation and then do Insanity (which I haven’t done yet) but I think I will reverse them and do Insanity during the months of February and March and then do the 3 ½ month STS. That will give me a little more time to save for STS and the tower. Although 2 months without any Cathe workouts sounds like torture!

Pam The guy in Circuit Max and Cardio Kicks is probably bigger than Evander but it just cracks me up to see this big burly guy doing the step routine and leaps. I tried using him to get DH to work out but he just laughed at me. I also asked him this morning how he felt about his wife being able to do more pushups than he could and he said he was proud of me. That made me feel a little guilty for trying to sucker him into wanting to work out. I know what you mean about actually having the DVD that is why downloads really haven’t appealed to me. Plus I figure, until they work the bugs out of the workout blender there really is no point in me downloading the same workouts I have on DVD. I say go for it with the ipod. I always tell DH that what's his is mine! Great job on KPC. I really like that one and it is pretty similar to KickMax.

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend everyone!

Joey and I did The Firm Vol. 1. It was a great sweaty workout. Also walked Rolly for an hour in the wood.

Cheryl, Great job on LMPremix. Ooooo, yoga sounds so good. Thank you for your dog support, I really do appreciate that. So glad you are getting better from your cold.

Pam, Don't worry, I will be very careful with the dogs, and I'll do my best making friends with them. It will make life more enjoyable and will be able to walk the woods. Hopefully.

Sorry work is frustrating for you. What's going on? It does sound like a great evening with friends. Have Fun! Do enjoy your mom's 80 birthday party tomorrow. All born on Halloween. How Fun! Once of my nieces is born on Halloween too. She loves that day.

Great job on KPC and bonus burn, good substitute.

Julie, Great job to continue your exercises (CK and the 40 push up bonus burn), when feeling a little low. I'm glad it worked out for you.

You know, that is not a bad idea using weight to deepen the stretches. I may have to try that! LOL:rolleyes:

Actually, I'm kinda looking forward to my new fur friends. Hope it works out. I'll have treats in hand. Scarrrrrry.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Janie

Did yoga this morning. It felt good to stretch again. I could tell it had been awhile since I had done it.

Pam Exercise is a stress relief for me too. I am the only one in the family as well who does exercise on a regular basis. He thinks you are a freak of nature does he  Wow some people just don't get it. That is unusual to have three people in your family have a birthday on Halloween. I think that would be a fun day to have a birthday though. Sorry to hear that work is so fustrating for you. That always makes the week long. Hopefully it improves soon.

Julie Hopefully you aren't coming down with a cold. It would be hard to workout when your throat is scratchy and you have swollen glands. I thought doing a premix would be a good way to get back into it and it does certainly work the legs. Both Pam and Janie have Insanity and they may be able to get you some tips on it. From what I have heard about it you may want to work some lower impact workouts in with it.

Janie Good job on your workout. It was a nice day to walk Rolly too.

Well have a great Saturday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie The dry air is one of the worst things about winter! I do think you are right that exercise boosts your immmune system though. I rarely get sick anymore. Cardio Kicks is a fun workout. I just did it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
You'll have to let me know how you like that insanity rotation. I have not been able to last longer than a week and a half doing only insanity.
Aww, that is sweet that your DH is proud that you can do more push ups than he can. I can see what you mean about it making you feel a little guily though! It can be frustating trying to get someone to do something that you know is good for them, but until they want to for themselves it just never works. Good luck!

Janie Good job on The Firm. That Susan Harris is such a sex pot in that one! :p And youi got a walk in with Rolly too, good for you!
Work well - first one of my best people resigned last week and I won't be able to backfill her because we always clamp down on expenses in the fourth quarter. Then on Thursday I found out that someone from another team has been contacting everyone on my team and telling them they are hiring and asking them to come and interview! I was so mad, that is just so against our protocol. And I can't get the manager to respond to me beause he knows he shouldn't be doing this :mad::mad:

Cheryl You are so good about doing your yoga, maybe one of these days I'll get better about that! Are you feeling better?

Helen and Debbie Hope we haven't lost you!

This morning I really didn't want to work out. We had too much wine last night and I had a bit of a headache, but I got up and did BM2 and my bonus burn and it made me feel a lot better so I was glad I did it. Now I have to go get busy for the birthday dinner. Have a great Saturday everyone!

Pam

Did Cardio Coach on the treadmill, lasted I think 45 min. I'll take Rolly out when it's not so rainy. If I can.

Cheryl, Great job on that yoga. Hmmmm, maybe I will do some yoga later today. Maybe not, but it does sound so good.

Pam, Yes, Susan Harris is a sex pot, but we love her, she works our butts off! We've been doing her routine for such a long time. It never gets old. to us.

Politics at work indeed. I would be MAD too. Play it well Pam, I know you can. I'm so glad I'm not in the working force anymore. It's hard! I hope this helps (((((hugs))))).

All the more power to ya, when you don't have the motivation to workout and instead you do anyway and with extra bonus burn. Great Job! I so respect people doing that. It inspires me like no other.

Have fun with the Birthday dinner.

Take care everyone. Aren't we missing a couple of people?

Janie

Janie I don't have any of the cardio coach workouts but have heard really good things about them. If I were to try one, do you have any recommendations on which one? I would use it on my spin bike.
That's the funny thing about Susan Harris. She is this teeny tiny thing and she is talking in that breathy voice and lifting really heavy weights like they are nothing without ever breaking a sweat!
Thanks for your support! The corporate world can be really frustrating, I will be glad when I am out of it too!
The party went well, here is a picture of the birthday girl in her fancy witch hat that I got for her, the pumpkin cake and my latest stained glass creations. Happy Halloween everyone! Today is a rest day for me. The pumpkin cake was pretty good, but the chocolate peanut butter one was a lot better!

Today is a rest day.

Pam, There is information at Cardio Coach site that helps you pick one for your level. I have around 6 (I think), and you might want something different from me. Green color (as you will find out) is for beginners. The rest is intermediate, Moderately Intense and Advanced, with their own colors for those levels. Just looking through is a great experience. Let me know which one you pick.

I was really skeptical at one time and asked Sean if I could try one out. He gave me one with an Intermediate level (for free). But then again, that is Sean for you. He is so kind, giving and true. I believe one of his goals in life is to make sure that whoever is interested in better health, it just doesn't matter to him if he gets paid or not for the workouts. But most people always come back for more and pay. The products are that good. Fair Warned: Once you get a hold of one of his audio tapes, you can't help but get another one.;) Oh, read up on one of his idols (Jim Maclaren). He just died recently, and was and is an inspiration to all. He dedicated a volume to his friend called "Press Play Saturday" for Jim MacLaren's Choose Living Foundation. Such a brave story.

Susan Harris, what can I say. Check out her most recent DVD. She still is a sexy pot, just shorter hair. TLT "Finding Your Core".

Your Mom is just adorable! She seems to be enjoying herself. Love the cake picture, it looks scrumptious. And, those stained glass pieces are so unique for Halloween. Exquisite!

Enjoy your rest day.

Janie
