Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Today I did a mix I did from the downloads where I put all 5 of the blasts together. This was an awesome workout. It was like Intensity or To The Max without a pure step portion. My heart rate got going right away and actually had a good cal burn (568). Will do this one a lot, at least when my knee is okay.

Diane Sue, You sound exactly like me on the HR/burn. I also wish you could buy individual BB programs. I hate especially when I buy the add on programs and it is less than a 20-30 min workout, no premixes, no extras and it costs as much or more than a Cathe. Cathe spoils us in such a good way. I also like KCM for the same reasons.

Dmerz, I agree that I am also having a problem making ICE hard for me. I have been sampling them and then trying to figure out how to reconfigure them to work for me (the cardio portions). Still happy to have them as is. I would have liked to have these after my last surgery.

Amazon notified me today that jillian's bodyshred is on sale today. I hate it when they do that...I've had it on my wishlist but not sure I'm ready to buy today. Anyone here done the workouts? Are they different from say insanity or ruthless in difficulty level and moves?

Saw this on my amazon email today too. I have all three that you mentioned and like parts of all three. I did not do body shred as laid out, used more and different cardio. Liked the weight workouts.

I would have you look at 2lazy4gym.com. Forum member Jenngolf does a great job of detailing all three that you mentioned. And I usually have the same opinions.

Hope I am not enabling, but it is a good price today.

What a great site! Perfect review of every workout.

I read through all the workout descriptions and liked what I was reading. Lots of moves that sound new (and Hard!). I also wasted a good amount of time reading on some other workouts and have now added a few to my wishlist.

In the end I decided that its a realitively new system and it will probably go on sale again sometime or I'll be able to find a set on ebay or craigslist after a while. So it remains on my wishlist for now!

I'm still working through ICE OnDemand and then will finish out my subscription with some of the Cathe Live that I saw reviewed on 2lazy4gym as well. (How does she have the time to do and review all those workouts!! Amazing)

I don't know if I mentioned it but, the bonus Hammer and chisel workout I did today, Power Chisel had both Autumn and Sagi in it. SOme of the interaction and comments between the two gets a bit much. She was saying something about his boobies on this one. I kind of wonder what his wife thinks when she does the workouts. Even one of the guys on a thread on Beach body said some of the conversation in was a bit uncomfortable. Also, I discovered that there were some errors in the Fixate cookbook and they put out a PDF file of fixes. Seriously, I remember this with Body Beast when I got it. They had a whole thread of corrections. I wonder why they can't take the time to get things right. After all they do have the test groups and everything first. I think the newer Body Beast sets have a different book than the one I got. Mine has more pages and a competition plan in it.

dmertz, I had to go check and see which Jillian workouts I have. I have hardly used them other than the yoga meltdown and yoga inferno. They only one that says anything about shred is Shred it with Weights Probably not the same thing.

Catgirl, I know Cathe spoils us. I have always thought there are parts of some of my other workouts that I would like to do just portions of. I am glad that you found a mix on the ice workouts that worked that well. It gives me hope that when I do get them I will like them :)

Today was Hammer Conditioning and the optional 15 minute leg hammer from the deluxe workouts. Hammer Conditioning was 29.39 minutes. and I burned 185 calories. The pace kept the heart rate up a bit. Leg Hammer is done with a med ball and I have posted it before. They all use 8# in it. I used 10#. There is someone using a dumbbell as well. This was 18 minutes and calories burned 142. I am counting it as cardio as my heart rate was avg 132/ max 157. I wasn't up for more than that this morning. I am still not feeling well and it has been 16 days since whatever virus I got started. I would think flu but I had a flu shot and only have had a fever at the start of 100. It is seriously dragging me down. Seriously, I have a heavier weight workout coming tomorrow which is Hammer Total Body so I think I need take it easy the rest of the day.
Hammer Conditioning
clock push up crunch- (around the clock push up with a knee in all right then round 2 all left) 12 reps left then
side lunge row 15# each hand all left 12 reps
repeat on right
fly lunge twist ( 1 arm fly, lunge , then pull weight across into a twist)Sagi says go light and uses 8# I used 8 but think maybe 5 would have been more realistic follow this with sumo squat press and repeat on the other side
sumo squat press 15# each hand
burpee, renegade row right left upright row 10# each hand followed by Stiff leg deadlift crunch (1 leg) 15# each hand repeat all switching sides
plank raise tap crunch (this is plank, raise arm crunch across body one side ) followed by reverse lunge curl kickback all on one side 12# each hand Repeat all on the other side
Leg Hammer all done with 10 # med ball squat press
side lunge left
side lunge right
sumo twist
1 leg deadlift to knee crunch rt then repeat on left
step up press (no bench involved like I would have thought by the name)

Okay a note on the Fixate Cookbook. I was going to write the corrections in my book this morning and I discovered that the copy I got from Amazon must have been an already edited copy :D I have made quite a few of the recipes and they are all good. I made a half a recipe of the chocolate almond protein bars which was 8 servings. They were pretty good. I subbed a bit of coconut flour for the oat flour though. am sure that altered the fat content a bit. I am always afraid of making a huge batch of anything the first time.

Good afternoon,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday, I had to take drive my husband to the doctor. He had surgery on his rotator cuff (he tore 3 of his rotator cuffs plus his biceps ). Since he can't drive, I had to take him to DC. We got home late last night. I went and saw my doc this afternoon about my knee. They been bordering me for a few month now :( He took some x-ray's. He wants me too keep everything low impact, no more jumping :) Which I haven't been doing anyway :) He thinks I have arthritis in my knees from exercising, running....

Diane Sue, glad you like the recipes. You would think they check Fixate cookbook before releasing it?

I will be back later to report my workout.

Belinda, I am sorry to hear about the knees and arthritis. I have it too. I have tried lots of things but the one that has helped the most is this product http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 It is kind of expensive but well worth it. I think the collagen is what helps the most because I have used a lot of glucosamine chondroitin products and they were only so, so. Plus some have ingredients that have side affects that have hit me in not a good way like Move Free.

Super stressed today. My husband is having professional problems so things are a little rocky right now. My new workout program (while this lasts) is going to be whatever brings me to my happy place. Today I rocked out Terminator IMAX Extreme. I'm glad my knee is okay right now, I love step.

Belinda, sorry to hear about your knee. Listen to your doctor, but most importantly listen to you. You know you best.

Dmerz, I love that website, and refer to it almost daily in picking out my rotations. Although, she has cost me some money, I think she has saved me more. I read her reviews on all the programs I have and generally have the same opinions. So I have avoided buying some that I would have purchased. As I've said I also use my library a lot to preview and try as well.

Diane Sue, the inappropriate type of comments in H&C makes me uneasy. I would cringe at that. You'll have to let me know if there are more. I agree that I don't understand why BB cannot find problems in advance. They have test groups. I have also found in some of their programs that they don't work the body on each side evenly. Also, please consider taking extra rest days to try to shake off that bug. Maybe you need more rest.

Catgirl, it seems that most of the worst comments are on the workouts with Sagi and Autumn together which are the deluxe workouts and the free cardio workout.. That last comment was probably the worst so far. Other than Sagi during Hammer abs saying something about his hammer runs and something about not getting the runs. Seriously the Autumn Sagi one just kept replaying in my head and I am not looking forward to hearing it every time I do that workout.
Edited to add that seriously I did not mind Beast comments about Barbie, grandma, and Mom telling him to clean up his weights. This is different.

Hallo ladies,

I just did STS D40 Legs and Leslie Swanson Firm 30. That's it for me today.

Thanks Diane Sue and Catgirl :)

Diane Sue, thanks for the link I will check it out. My husband used glucosamine chondroitin products, didn't do anything for him. The funny thing is I don't feel a lot of pain when I workout, but when I stop...it's a different story :( I am still hoping the doc is wrong, lol :) Good job on your workout today.

Catgirl sorry to hear about your husband. Hope things turn around soon for you both. Good job on Terminator today. Haven't done that one in a long time. Will be pulling that one out soon.

Good night, ladies.

Belinda, the thing with the supplements is you have to give them time. I can tell. The thing is not all products claiming to be the same work as well. I read about collagen, picked up some collagen Spring valley t people 1 and 3 for skin hair nails and noticed a difference when I ran out. I started Re axing up on it and found it was type 2 that was for joints Anyway they say indentured type II is the one for joints. I generally have the pain and stiffness when I am inactive . Sleeping can be miserable. I have not woke up for quite some time with throbbing in my hands and knees at night. The doctor ord r s a dexscan for me once every couple of years. I have a couple of stress fractures but they seem to be improving.

Today was ICE Bootcamp. (After a frustrating 10 minutes and a computer re-boot to get OnDemand to work) I guess there is more abs in this series than I am used to doing because I felt DOMS in the abs right away in the first round! I didn't have time to complete the entire blizzard blast (bcuz of before mentioned computer issue) but what I did was fun. I'm really thinking that Cathe did this series and RWH backwards! The One- arm burpees on the step are FUN and then we would have all been ready for them in RWH! And I love the plie/donkey kick move. I hope that one shows up again. I may do it in every workout instead of plie jacks since I hate those and it would be an easy sub.

Again I went heavier for every move in the workout except for tris (I guess I have wimpy tri's!). Now that I know all the moves I could probably go really, really heavy (20-30's) because the pace is slow enough to allow it.

Tomorrow I have to take the son to school early so I may end up skipping a workout. We'll see.

Today was Total Body Hammer again 43 minutes, 230 calories. They also had the optional 15 minute leg hammer deluxe workout again but, I did not want to do it two days in a row so did 10 minute ab hammer, 13 minutes, 54 calories. I will do the leg hammer workout with Chisel agility or Max Hammer Strength Saturday. Total time 56 minutes and calories burned 286 calories.
Total Body Hammer 10,86 reps 3 moves repeat 10,8,6
bench press same as last time, 10x22.5, 10x 22.5, 10x22.5
squat 10x 39# ea. , 8 x 39 ea., 6 x 39 ea. Up 1.5#
reverse grip row 10x 26.5 ea, 8 x 26.5 ea , 6 x 26.5 up 1.5#
repeat after break
incline fly 10x 22.5, 8 x 22.5, 6 x 22.5
reverse lunge10 x 26.5 ea, 8 x26.5 ea, 6 x 26.5 ea up 1.5# right first round left second round
wide pull up 10, 8, 6
repeat after break
military press 10x 17.5 ea, 8x 17.5 ea, 6 x 17.5ea, this is the weight lowered to last time
Split squat rt 10x 25# ea., 8 x 25 # ea, 6 x 25# ea. second round is left
Post delt fly 1 arm rt 10 x 15#, 8x 15#, 6x 15# left second round

Good morning,

I did KCM 30 Min to Fitness: Kickboxing workout #2 = 30 min and Brazil Butt Lift Cardio Axe = 30 min.
KCM has a lot of premixes on that dvd, just found 2 more under the ab section :)

Diane Sue, I got a phone call from my doc this morning. the X-rays confirms I have arthritis in both knees :( I was hoping he was wrong, lol. I defiantly will look into the supplements from Amazon. Thank you, makes sense that those supplements don't work right away :) I will give them a try. My doc told me yesterday to take Tylenol for the pain, not sure if I want to go that route. When I got the call this morning, he reminded me not to do high impact, lol. Good job on your weights today.

dmerz, I feel your frustration on the OnDemand :( That's why I don't do streaming, our internet goes in and out constantly. Now I want to do ICE BC? Need to check out that move.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a great day and workout, everyone.

Today was a doubles day so I did PRS#2 followed by Supercuts. My right hand is being bad today. I really wanted to do BC or Total Body and MM from ICE, but I just can't lift much today. I'm having my physical in a month and will bring up my carpal tunnel issue then, along with my chronic insomnia issue. I'll just have to play by ear each day.

Dmerz, I only have Cathe Live and I play on my laptop. I found that I have to clear my cache and then reboot to play. It is a pain. I don't have that problem with YouTube.

Diane Sue, thanks for the H&C update. I don't always get the bonuses. I've made a note on that one for future. I have a bottle of the Nordic supplement (it was sent to me as a freebie), but haven't tried it. Use Osteo-bi flex and that works well for me. I've been afraid to switch, but I'll try that one when my current bottle runs out. So thanks.
How are you feeling today, hopefully better.

Belinda, sorry to hear its official. Sending you warm wishes for better knees. How is Brazil butt lift? That is one I never bought. How does it compare to Cathe butt work?

Good work everyone on your workouts.

Belinda, I am sorry about the x-ray confirmation on the arthritis. It was Mayo clinic that warned against Move Free Advanced formula. My daughter (PA doctor) says they are pretty reliable. I was having lots of fatigue, neck and joint pain, insomnia, dizziness, (this was worse than I had been having) and went to the doctor who did blood work. My liver enzymes were off a bit. My daughter suggested I try to find out what I was using to cause that. I went over all of my supplements and that was the one that covered my symptoms. They said Move Free Advanced has Chinese Skullcap that can cause liver damage. Anyway, I stopped it and have been doing better till I got this virus.
The only Brazil Butt Lift I have is the Masters set. I did one rotation with it and loaned it out. My daughter gave it back and I haven't ever pulled
it out again.

Catgirl, I wonder why Tylenol. Generally they suggest an anti-inflammatory like ibuprophen. I try to take as little as possible. All of that stuff just masks the pain and can cause other issues. I am feeling a bit better today. Still had a hard time sleeping though with all of the coughing.
I am sorry the hands are bothering you that much. Mine got so bad before surgery. I finally had to go in because we painted walls and that night I was pacing the room in agony. Nothing helped. They made me go through some test that was rather painful first. Once the surgery was over I never had a problem again.

Belinda- Bummer about your news.... Are there any treatments? I know nothing about arthritis except it seems to be so common. Hang in there- there are some great Low Impact workouts and I think as our generation of home video exercises ages they will only continue to be offered. All these instructions we love now are aging too! (Though sometimes I think they are bionic!)

I'm glad I held off on Bodyshred earlier this week... because I just found out I got T25 from the interlibrary loan request I submitted before Christmas (that and one of Kelly Coffey-Meyer's that the email doesn't show the title to) AND I submitted my next inter-library loan request for Bodyshred! So hopefully that will be able to be filled. They were unable to fill my request for Body Beast though the notification didn't say why. Some of them I think you have to pay a transfer fee for and I said I didn't want to pay a fee so maybe I'll try again and ok the fee.

I also placed a hold on a couple other Jillian Michaels DVDs that my library has. Since I've never done her workouts before I figured I should try them before I commit to a major purchase of her system.

I did manage to get moving early enough this morning for a quick workout. To The Max triple tabata premix. Love those DVD premixes!

Good morning,

Just finished my last workout in STS :) I did STS D36 and Brazil Butt Lift Tummy Tuck. I am not sure, what I will do for my recovery week? If I take one :)

dmerz, thanks! I guess, I am getting old :) My doc wants me to take Tylenol for the pain. Put heat on my knees before I workout and icy it after wards. He said, I could try over the counter supplements and see if they help. If all that doesn't work, he wants to discuss other treatments. I would love to visit your library. You are so lucky, girl!

Diane Sue, I really appreciate all the info on those supplements :) I stay far away from Move Free. Why is it sill on the market? Isn't that something? The last thing I want on top off all my problems is liver damage :( I need to make sure DH isn't taking it. I did a Brazil Butt Lift rotation maybe 2 years ago. I will mix all the dvd's/programs instead following a rotation.

Catgirl thank you :) I like Brazil Butt Lift, especially High & Tight. That one is a lot of floor/bodyweight. You really feel that one. Cathe Butt workout uses weights.

I will be back tomorrow. Enjoy your workouts and day.
