Belinda, I did P90X the first time and stuck with the lean program throughout. I omitted the protein bars and some higher carb items. I had great results and did not count calories. I have decided I will just follow the measurement system and eat a few things that I don't usually eat but cut back on them in the recipes when I can. On days when I am very hungry when I get up I will eat a snack. That is why I ate the pumpkin energy balls this morning. I don't usually feel that hungry. I went back and looked and I only ate 1349 calories so that is why. The Ice workouts look good. I am sort of sorry I didn't just pre-order like I usually do.
112toguru, the reps are 10 at a staggered 123 pace first set followed with a set that you are do fast enough to see how many reps that you can get out. They are still holding the same weights. I thought it would be better if I could drop weight a bit so I could allow for heavier on the first 10 reps. but that is not how the workout is set. There seems to be some interesting methods here. From what I understand they work more on balance and stamina at first to set you up for other stuff as you move through the program. I have P90X3 , I never did a compete program though. I bought them for the time crunch and not needing too much stuff when we stayed at our daughter's looking for a house after our other home sold more quickly than anticipated. I use the yoga and Pilates workouts the most. I like the Cold Start Warm up which is 12 minutes and sort of separate from the workouts. I have used it for an add on to other workouts.
