Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Today I did Chisel Agility 38 minutes, 238 calories. I followed it with Kelly Coffey Athletic Conditioning 2 workout 2 abs and flexibility, 26 minutes, 118 calories. Total time 64 minutes, 356 calories.

Today I did Intensity Max premix. It just had a little bit of weights in the very last BC section that I thought I could handle. Last night my right hand was so bad, I had to eat dinner with my left. Not easy to do. Today, for some odd reason, an old injury I had to my left elbow is acting up. I guess I'm getting to that age where I wake up to see what works and doesn't work that day.

Dmerz, hope you enjoy T25 . I hate to say that I have that one and have not done it yet. On the list for this year. I found out in my inter-library loans that some libraries will just not lend out. Just had this happen with a request for Amy Dixon's Breathless Body 3. I have checked out over 100 in inter-library and have not had any that have requested a fee. On my system, it states that it will notify me if there is a fee to see if I wish to proceed.

Belinda, great job on STS. I only did STS once, I got very bulky in places. I only add in for random weight work now. I have looked at BBL because I naturally have a very flat rear. Any recommendations from anyone is appreciated. I would love to have any bulk there.

Diane Sue, are you feeling any better. I hope so.

Happy Friday everyone! Today I did ICE Lower Body Blast + Blizzard Blast. I was a bit hesitant to push play on this one since my legs normally cannot handle a Cathe lower body only workout. This was great. I loved it. Almost like an easier Xtrain Cardio Leg Blast. And since there were plie jacks in it I swapped out the Plie jack/donkey kick move from Bootcamp. (Seriously I think I'm going to do that every time those dang things pop up now) I think this blizzard blast was one of the hardest too. Or maybe I'm tired from the week. This might be another one that I will end up buying out of this series. I think I will do the Kickbox one tomorrow and skip the "to the mat" one. I have very little interest in those floor work type (which means they would probably do me some good if I would do them!)

Belinda, supplements and over the counter meds are money makers. They aren't likely to take them off the market without some mass outcry and people finally realize that there problem is something like that that they are taking. My granddaughter had kidney failure when she was 12. She was in the hospital for a week. They think it was the Ibuprophen she had taken just before it happened. The doctor said it doesn't necessarily take a large does or someone taking it for a long time to do that. She is almost 16 now and her mother will not let her take anything when she has a headache or something. We all monitored her diet for quite some time after that. Higher and tighter of the Brazil Butt Lift Masters was my favorite of the workouts. The first time I did it I used 5# ankle weights. It was a mistake. I could barely walk the next day

catgirl, I am still dragging. Normally I would be adding more to these Hammer and Chisel workouts but, whatever I have had is mostly in the chest, it hurts when I breathe in. My daughter said the same thing with her. I think the main reason I am dragging though is because I can't sleep when I am coughing all night. It has got to get better soon. Thanks for asking. I have T 25 Gamma, that is the only one I have purchased. I like it but, I think it is a bit more endurance strength than the others., all but Speed 3.0. I do Speed 3.0 on my rebounder for most of it other than jump lunges. I hear you on waking up and seeing what you can do.

dmerz, mat work always seems tedious and never seems to burn many calories to me. The thin is, I have found that doing it, particularly with weights brings out those dips in the glutes and that area between the hamstrings and glute muscle. I sometimes add it on. All of the reviews on the Ice workouts makes me think I will find a place for them in my workout collection.

Today I had more time than normal so I did two that I picked up from the library. T25 Alpha cardio and Jillian Michael Hard Body workout 1.

I realize when I do new stuff there is difference in workouts in where they assume you are starting from and the assumption on how you are supposed to use the videos. As I try to limit my video purchases I'm going to need to also try to figure out what those assumptions are and keep it in mind as to whether I purchase or not.

T25's cardio I felt was designed to be able to be done by someone that was just getting off the couch. There was a modifier that was doing very, very simple moves. The rest of the crew were like a toned down version of insanity and included some of those moves. I like how he layered the moves. Sometimes you do 30 seconds of stepping a move, then 30 seconds of lifting a move on your toes, then 30 seconds of jumping a move. Good design for a program that you are supposed to grow with. Or if you needed something to ease back into working out. Not something if I had that I would just come back to as a stand alone cardio workout. I have others that are more fun.

Hard body wo 1 was ok. Just ok. I don't feel that I would necessarily go back to it although if I did it would probably increase my balance. This is the first time I've done a Jillian workout. I didn't dislike her as a trainer. She doesn't do all the workouts and that does kind of bother me but as I've branched out from Cathe I'm getting used to it. She jokes a little with the crew- but nothing obnoxious. She laughs at herself when she fell over in one of the moves. But this was a workout IMO....not some thing to "train" with. I'd really have no idea how to put it into a rotation other than a "free day". I'll give wo 2 a try sometime next week.

Catgirl- what is BBL? I'm not sure I've heard of it. STS was very good for shaping my flat rear. After my first rotation of STS was the only time I really visibly noticed some shape to my backside. Now I just make sure I'm doing something with squats to keep it there!

Today I did Hammer Build Up 32 minutes, 152 calories. I followed this with 15 minute leg hammer 18 , minutes using a 10# medicine ball, 18 minutes, 124 calories. Total time 50 minutes, 276 calories. I still think leg hammer is pretty much cardio, as it is the one that is 20 sec slow, 20 seconds med, and 20 sec fast. Heart rate was 129 avg / 152 max . Trying to figure out those food containers but, using recipes makes it kind of difficult. I also tried recipes from Fixate. Some are great and easy to leave or substitute items in them but then I change the container system. I tried adding some of the quinoa and black beans to the recipes that call for them but it really does not agree with me. Paleo has been good so I am trying adjusting some.
Hammer Build Up ( I know I could go heavier but was not sure how this was going to be) 32 minutes and quite a bit of work again) I liked this. It moves pretty quickly.
rnd 1
squat 30 sec 10# med ball
front back lunge 30 sec right 10# med ball;
front back lunge 30 sec left 10# med ball
step up ( I used a 14 inch step) 15# each hand 15 sec right
step up left 15 sec left
(Next time I will raise the weight on this round)
rnd 2 all moves are 30 sec
pull up 12 reps
reverse grip row 20# each hand
pullover 25#
reverse fly 12# each hand
rnd 3
1 hand push up right 1 hand on med ball 15 sec 12 reps
1 hand push up left on med ball 15 sec 12 reps
bench fly 20# each hand 30 sec
feet on med ball push up 30 sec 12 reps
incline press 30 sec 20# each hand
rnd 4 all 30 seconds this round ( I could have went heavier on this round for all of the moves)
ball military press 10# med ball
lateral raise 10# each hand
upright row 15# each hand
anterior raise 10# med ball
rnd 5
standard curl 30 seconds 15# each hand
hammer curl 30 seconds 20# each hand
concentration curl right 15sec 20#
concentration curl left 15 sec 20#
rotation curl seated on a bench, I used the stability ball 30 sec 15# each hand
rnd 6 all moves this round 30 sec
dips 14
kickbacks right 12# each hand
kickbacks left 12# each hand
skull crusher 15# each hand
rnd 7 all 30 seconds
ball plank hold hands on med ball30 sec
ball mountain climber hands on med ball 30 sec
windshield wiper right 8# med ball
windshield wiper left 8# med ball ( I think next time I will use ankle weights or sand weights for this, it is hard to hang onto a big med ball with your feet. I kept dropping it. There is the option to use no weight. ) I can do hanging knee raises with med ball but I generally am holding it between my knees. Maybe I am missing the point.

dmerz, not Cat girl but BBL is Brazilian Butt Lift from Beach Body. I have the Masters series in this. The ones I have are pretty much light to no weight and loads of reps. They use a stability ball. I would be interested in trying some of the alpha and beta workouts from t25. I should check the library.

Dianne Sue- Thanks! These acronyms we use are sometimes confusing. I got T25 all the way from a library in IL! (I'm in Colorado) So if you request via Inter-Library you may get the copy I had!! :)
And I never done this before but I submitted a request for my library to purchase the ICE series!! The forms says it will take 2 months for the request to be reviewed and approved or not. We'll see!

Today, I did Tabatacize. Hand is still really bad. Seems to be getting worse. It hasn't been this bad since prior to the injections. I can't even do any kind of boxing, since I can't hold my hand up. Just going to go through workouts and look for ones with no hand work (like Tabatacize).

Dmerz, I'm from Il, but your DVD's are not from my library. I swear that my library has 100 workout DVDs and 90 of them are hula dancing, belly dancing, Bollywood dancing or the biggest loser. I order everything through inter-library. I have alpha, beta, and gamma T25. I'll have to look and see if there are weights. Might pull out Insanity or Max 30. By the way, i don't think Jillian ever does a full workout, at least that I have ever seen.

Diane Sue, I tried the containers with other BB programs, but could never get the hang of how to actually cook recipes with them. Ended up not using them after a couple of weeks as I found that I was getting bored with food choices (since I didn't know how to cook with them).

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good evening,

I just got my workout in. I went dress shopping for the wedding. Couldn't find anything :(

I did Cathe Timesaver DVD #1 = 38 min + Cathe Yoga Relax = 52 min

Diane Sue - OMG! That is horrible about your granddaughter :( I wouldn't give her any med for headaches either. I am always careful what meds the doc give me...you never know. I agree, supplements and over the counter meds are money makers. I also like high and tight from BB. I also though I could use ankle weights the first time I done that workout.....I was so wrong, LOL. That one is a butt burner.

Catgirl - sorry to hear about your hand. Have you talked to your doctor? Hope you feel better soon. I would recommend Brazil Butt lift, my butt got rounder/firmer. You really have to stick with the program to get great results.

Dmerz - you are so lucky finding all those workouts at your library. Mine has nothing

Good night ladies.

Does you library do interlibrary loans? That's how I got these. My own library seems to love Tracy Anderson dvds and pregnancy wo dvds. They had one Kelly. Coffee-Meyer and some biggest looser dvds but that's about it for the local library offerings.

Cat girl I wonder about weights in T25 alpha and beta. 3 of the gamma are weights and the speed 3.0 is cardio. I think I have used Rip'd up or however that is spelled or not spelled the most out of the Gamma workouts. One of them is the weights are used starting in the warm up and you never put them down.
dmerz , I need to check our library here more closely. I haven't really looked at their dvds. I have checked out children's dvds for the grandchildren and reserved specific requests. It is a large new library , probably the newest here in Oklahoma City. The old one that I used to go to had things like Denise Austin, lots of yoga and dance workouts. I did come across a couple of older Cathe's there once but I already had them so wasn't interested. One of them was Maximum Intensity Strength.

Dianne Sue- I think only one beta workout uses weights. The rest appear to be bodyweight. The set I'm borrowing only had alpha and beta.

I have no idea if they do, but I will check it out :) Thanks!

Good evening,

I just got my workout in. At least I got one in, right? I went shopping for a wedding dress today. I found one too. It's really pretty :)

I did Cathe's Timesaver #2 = 40 min.

I will be back tomorrow.

dmerz, I checked my library's website and they do have the interlibrary program. Do you go in the library and fill something out? I didn't see a way to do it online. I looked at our metro library systems exercise collection and I didn't see a lot of current workouts. It seemed they had a lot of Bab Harper Inside out, Jillian, lots of Jari Love, yoga all over the place. Most anything I would want I already have. I did see Jillian 30 day shred and some I of hers I don't own.

Belinda, I am glad that you found the dress for the wedding. Nice job on getting the timesaver workout in.

Today was my rest day. :D

Diane Sue, I can do inter-library loan requests online. On my search screen there is a drop box where I can either search in my direct library, or I can search the entire library system. I switch the drop box to the entire library. Then search and when I find something I then place a hold request on it. It comes up stating that this will be an inter-library loan and they will contact me if a fee is associated with it (which so far I have never had).

Cat girl thanks. I will check that out.

Today will be a new workout for me. It is Chisel Total Body . I love trying new workouts :) Feeling quite a bit better today too. I may add some cardio.

Dianne Sue- My library is the same way, I fill out my requests on-line and wait for an email.

Today was upper body pressing work (paper program I picked up before Christmas). I had a few minutes at the end and sampled T25 Speed 1.0. The first 10 minutes were good. A speed drill followed by a stretch which ended up as a good way to add a little cardio and stretch to the end of my lifting session!
