Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Today was another two Cathe live workouts, Boxing with Leg Blasts and Hi-Lo Hiit with Step (mix from RWH). Both were great workouts and both were HI. Then DH and I went for a 5.5 mile walk. Our subdivision has a protected wetland preserve right behind us. So we have very nice paved trails through the preserve. Tomorrow will be my rest/yoga day.

Belinda, I only have Live. I wish I had OnDemand, but I have almost all of Cathe already on DVD. I will definitely keep Live. I love it. Still keeping Aleisa in my prayers.

Hi to everyone else who checks in later.

Belinda, I would worry when a workout is called brain fusion with the word fun :) My first thought is that it will be a bunch of those think drills that are called out. I seriously do not enjoy those that much. I finally remembered most of them when doing Hammer and Chisel Agility drills and some of Tony's workouts. Slo Mo has some different variety and ways to do weight work. I have used it a lot.

Laura, the boxing with leg drills has been one I would like to try but have worried about the neck and shoulder. That is nice that you have a good place to walk. We have lots of walking trails where we are at and one lane through our neighborhood dedicated to bicycles being able to use the whole lane. We are just below the lake and there is a park within walking distance. I take my dog walking and grandchildren to the park once in awhile.

Today I did Live Step on it 50 minutes 385 calories. I then put on live Steptastic skipping the first 8 minutes since I didn't need a warm up and stopping after the second higher intensity segment and combined combos 1 and 2, forwarded to the cooldown stretch. This was 30 minutes and 224 calories. Total time was 80 minutes and calories burned 609.

Good morning,

Jenny Ford Step by Step 3 = 56 min. I got 6500 steps :)

Thanks for all the prayers. I really appreciate it! I am getting ready to go to DC.

I will be back tonight and catch up on personals. I have to get ready. Have a wonderful day and workout.

Belinda, sending out prayers for Aleisa today.

Today I did a spin bike workout, Cathe Live Pedal to the Metal, 47 minutes, 397 calories. This one really got the heart rate up with some tabatas and heavy stuff. My legs were tired by the end. I finished off with Stretch Max with the band.

I am taking another day off today. My chronic insomnia has been bad the last few days and I've only managed about three hours total sleep in the last two days. Besides my knee has flared up today. Yesterday just did yoga relax. I think it may be the weather that has it so achy today. It has been cold, damp, and raining the last two days.

Belinda, praying for the best.

This morning I just needed some familiar old fun... Party Rocking Step #1 always fits that bill!!

Good morning,

Thanks for all the prayers :) I really appreciate it. Her doctor is running more tests. Now we have to wait a few day's to get the results. Fingers crossed!

I did S&H Chest and Back this morning and Jenny Ford Step & Hi Low for Kids = 20 min.

I will be back later. Have a great workout, everyone.

Today I did Cathe Live Legs and Glutes 56 minutes, 317 calories. I followed this with a youtube yoga channel that was for neck pain, 20 minutes. That is it for today.

Belinda, I will keep praying. Those tests and waiting are so hard to deal with. Good job getting a workout in today.

Doreen, I think Party Rockin Step is one of my all time favorite. I pull it out a lot when I am not motivated and it goes well :)

Laura, I hope that you have managed to get some sleep. I have that happen sometimes and I cannot push myself to work out after that long of a time. One day I can sometimes but when it repeats itself all the energy is drained.

I forgot to log the workout format. It is somewhat different than the original legs and glutes. There are cardio blasts mingled throughout. She uses mostly 3 risers on the high step and on one cardio she lowers to 2. 12 and 15# dumbbells are used. Mostly the 15# ones.
w.u and a short cardio of forward and backward jacks a rest and the second set is just forward backward minus the jacks. This is forward and back with the step in between.
leg press 16 reps right then left then repeat 15# dumbbell
Hover squats with 15# dumbbell
1st cardio tap knee tap over then 5 singles using the high step with 3 risers
plie squats side to side with 12# dumbbells and low ends added
elevated lunge 12# singles and has pulses
cardio blast power turn squats with the high step 4 sets alternating starting side with a step turn to position next start side
uneven drop squats 15# dumbbell singles and pulses
12# dumbbells pulse lunge back knee up pulses on singles
cardio with high step straddle step knee with 2 risers on step
Put 3 risers back on step
cross back lunge singles and pulses
genie on step with arms folded all right then all left 2x each side
forward back lunge then 5 power lunge switching sides
get out mat, pole, and step
mat and pole calf raises
use pole for standing side leg lifts
hold bar out in front arms straight and do side to side leg lifts. ( I did not hold the bar out in front)
Standing using pole for balance front leg lifts
Floor with mat and step topper glute press

Thank you, Diane Sue! I agree, about the waiting and test. Good job on your workout today. I love YT, so many great workouts.

Oh, I almost forgot, the insurance totaled our RV :(

Good job on the workouts everyone.

Belinda, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Still haven't slept much. Really in a brain fog. And everything is hurting. At some point I will have to crash.

Laura - thank you :) Hope you get some sleep tonight. Feel better, girl.

I also did Jessica Smith Dynamic stretch. Really liked that one.

Good morning,

I did Jenny Ford Hi Low Cardio 2 and Jessica Smith UB Strength. I liked the UB strength.

BTW, for week 4 of my rotation, I will do Cross Train Express.

I am done for today. Have a great day and workout everyone.

Still not sleeping. This is a really bad spell.

Keeping your daughter in my thoughts and prayers, Belinda.

Today's workout was Cathe Live 2014 Road Trip Step, 47 minutes, 347 calories. This was much more intense with lots of jacks and jumping on and off the bench. The first 15 minutes seemed light then it kicked up. Actually I thought I had clicked on one that was cardio with low impact blasts and wondered when we got out the step. After this I did Live Crush It Low Impact skipping the warm up and doing 17 minutes, 117 calories. This was 64 minutes and 476 calories. I then did a Sarah Beth Yoga from you tube that was a 15 minute challenge for hips which was holding the poses for a bit longer

Belinda, I have not done Cross Train Express in so long. I had thought of throwing in some of the cardio portions onto some of my other workouts.

Laura, I am sorry about the insomnia. Have you cut all caffeine? I find spicy foods keep me up if I eat them at night as well as dark chocolate. I hope you get it figured out.

Good morning,

Slow & Heavy Legs & Shoulder is done. I will do a stretch tonight.

Diane Sue - I haven't done CTX in a long time either. I am working my way through Cathe's older workouts first mixed in with some newer stuff. I don't know why Cathe throws in so many Jacks and jumping in her workouts? Tough on the knees. I can't do jacks or lots of high impact anymore. Good job yesterday.

Laura - I am so sorry you are not getting enough sleep. I was up at 3 am the day before yesterday? What's up with that? I was dragging all day yesterday. Hope you get a good night sleep soon.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a great day and workout, everyone.

At least I crashed for three hours late this morning. Something is better than nothing. This is a really bad spell for me. I have suffered from chronic insomnia for several years, but sometimes like this it gets really bad for a while. I've done sleep studies, seen specialists, been on numerous sleep drugs. I am on the strongest sleep meds now. I follow everything in the sleep books, dark, quiet, cool rooms. Only use bed to sleep, light meals before bed, no caffeine, etc. I was going to see a specialist about HRT to see if hormones could be to blame, but now I have to hold off until I have my follow up checkup on my breast in June.

Good workouts everybody.

Hey girls,

I also did JS Walk Strong 6 Week Transformation TB Training + Rehab Routine. Really like them both. I have gone through all the JS Walk Strong 6 Week Transformation 4 DVD's. I have to be honest, I like Jessica Smith Walk On: Walk the Weight off 30 Day Plan (Low Impact program ) a lot better. Maybe I need to do the workouts again, but her other set was a lot more fun compare to this one. Some of the the exercises seems a little odd. I did like a few of the dvd's, but have to admit I am glad I didn't pay for the set.

Laura, glad you got a few hours sleep :) Hope you get some more tonight and hope they can figure out/help you. Maybe a glass of wine would help? I am out after a glass of wine :p

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. Good night, everyone.

This morning I did Cathe Live Mish Mosh Legs, 50 minutes, 287 calories and added Hammer and Chisel 10 minute Chisel Abs, 48 calories. I chose this abs workout because there are is no crunches and moves that make me have to hold my head up against gravity. It is plank type work on forearms and step and seated ab work on bench. There was only one spot in Mish Most legs where I had to skip out on the overhead press. My neck is much improved and the mobility was a lot better yesterday. Last night though I slept on that side and woke in the middle of the night with the shoulder hurting and up into the neck. I should have taken something but it was not hurting so I thought why take anything when I went to bed. I will see how today goes. The shoulder doesn't hurt but if there is a little pressure on it it will.
Mish Mosh legs went like this (as well as I can remember it ;)
warm up 11 minutes with increasing intensity
squat lunge pulses 10#
side step squat(3) 10#
forward facing squat/ lunge then adding a hop bodyweight
curtsy lunge with pulses 15# dumbbell
firewalker around ankles begin with deadlifts 15#/ leg press backs then leg curls high reps repeat other side
10# dumbbells walking lunge 3 then turn plie squat then return
side to side walking lunge
Rear lunge and pulses back to standing 15 # -15 and 1, 7 and 1 repeating several times
squat 15# pulses/ single leg deadlift right then repeat on other leg
firewalkers with loop high and low
Move to the mat
outer thighs supine open close with firewalker loop
hydrant cross foot over ankle 24, 16,16 reps firewalker loop
forearm plank step out out in in firewalker loop
remove firewalker loop and pick large dumbbell using one foot on it do single foot on and leg extended hip raises

Belinda, nice workout today. I would be glad I didn't pay for the workouts too. It sounds like you won't really be too excited about using them a lot.

Laura, I am sorry you are having such a long jag of not sleeping enough. I go through some but it seems most of the time I just can't shut down my thoughts. Also I am awake off and on all night because of arthritis in my arms, hands, and knees. Sometimes I wake with numbness and have to pry my fingers open . I have to move to keep some circulation. When I take capsules with fish oil and collagen it gets much better but I don't think you are supposed to use it non stop. I read it is safe for up to 6 months so I take breaks from much of anything except a multivitamin. I think recently my doctor suggested some melatonin when I said I wasn't getting enough sleep and I told her no way. I am also subject to terrible nightmares and I get them much worse when I use melatonin. Having to wait till June is quite a while away.

Good morning,

LM Combat Shock PLYO HiiT is done.

Diane Sue - your leg workout looks amazing. WTG, yesterday. Sorry you to hear about the lack of sleep :( I hope you get some soon. I am glad I didn't pay $56 for the Jessica Smith set. I do enjoy most of her workouts, like the once on YT or her other dvd's.

Have a great day and workout everyone.

I'm back! Hope everyone is off to a good Friday!

I did Ultimatum Red today. Loved it! A great metabolic workout - just the right pace for a Friday.
