Lifting like girls

Karen, PRS1 makes the time fly, which is never a bad thing! If Thursdays are your Fridays, then what does that make Fridays? Saturday? LOL! I know what you mean, just giving you a hard time. Love that you have more Karen time / playtime in your life. Great workout! Are you upping the weights like you said you needed to?

Tom, how's the vacation?

Today I did Hard Strikes Low Impact Boxing Live (6/19/14). This one is hard because she puts in athletic drills at the end. I just didn't feel like jumping or lifting heavy weights today so this was the right selection for me.

TGIF! I am really feeling the need for a weekend!!!

Just finished my leg work. Today was:

Chest Elevated Glute Bridge 4 sets
45 degree Back Raise 3 sets
High Bar Squat 3 sets
Front Squats 2 sets
Smith Machine Calf Raises 5 sets
Another great leg workout. Love it!
Lisa, I am changing the weight in some exercises. Some more, some less. Since it is metabolic, it depends on how I feel, as well. There have been some changes.
Made an appointment to cut my hair. Having long hair at my age, makes me look older. So, this is another we shall see. Think I'm going for a kinda short layered bob. With the back, stacked. But, like I've done in the past. Cut it short, and immediately start growing it out, again. I dunno, every day is definitely a surprise. The person that cut my hair for years, moved to the Philippines, with her husband's job. They have moved back, so tomorrow is the day. Asking for good hair vibes from everyone. Have a great week-end, all!!

Karen, that's what I do too. Cut the hair short, which for me means a little above shoulder length, and then grow it out long again for the next 9 months or year. Variety, right? My only rule is that it has to be long enough to pull out of my face/off my neck during sweaty Cathe workouts. That's GREAT news that your go-to hair lady is back. Good hairdressers are worth double their weight in gold. She'll steer you the right direction. Have fun! Good haircut vibes coming your way

His Majesty, King of Gripe, checking in from the pool at Key West Fl. Done nuttin but drink margaritas last night, no weight room here!! No pull up bar, just 8 oz curls lol! Really missing it, you guys understand, feels like you abandoned you family or something similar...guilt overpowering....May have to have another drink!!!.....I know, counterproductive...but REALLY GOOD!! Living vicariously thru my Commando Sistas! Keep pounding the iron ladies!...I will stick to 8 ouncers, alternating hands!!

Karen, how's the hair? ;)

Tom, good to hear from you, O King of Gripe! But heck, you got NOTHIN' to whine about right now. Enjoy Margaritaville while you can. Those Power Blocks and your wet (LOL) basement will be waiting for you when you get home!

Today I did Cathe's latest Live, Sweat, Jump and Pump Live (10/13/16). Hold on to your hats everyone because this is actually the very first Live that I did not like. It just felt mean. I don't know how to describe it other than that. Usually Cathe strikes a nice balance between pushing you but not going too far. Not in this one. Maybe I'm just a whiner--after all, I will never ever never ever do Shaun T's Insanity--but this one was just too extreme for me. How's that for rocking the universe? Ha!

Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

Well, got my hair cut. Doesn't look like the picture, but, it's not hag hair any more, either. We had a great chat, got all caught up.
WOD:

Parallel Pullups 3 sets
Underhand Pullups 3 sets
Chest-Supported Row 2 sets
Incline DB Curl 4 sets
Cable Face Pull 3 sets
Modified Candlestick 4 sets (I like these)
Tom, I see you're enjoying the sunshine. Have a Margarita, for me.
Lisa, I am shocked, and I definitely had to hold on to my hat. You HAVE rocked the universe. I will have to check that one out. Probably won't do it, but will have to watch! Mean? Damn, girl. And as for me, I will never do Insanity. Had it for 5 years, and it's still in the box it was mailed.
Hope everyone's weekend is rockin'!

Karen, I am sure the hairdo looks FAB! You are tougher than me so you might like the Live, but it's definitely not for me. Any good news update on your Civic? Holy WOD on Saturday. That's a lot of chins!

Tom, are you back to reality yet?

Today had to ease myself onto it, per usual Monday. I did Kelly Coffey Meyer Total Body Kickbox. I must do legs tomorrow. Totally been slacking! Have a great day today

Forgot to check in yesterday. Yesterday was upper body, chest, shoulders and triceps. Then I did a Mark Lauren Bodyweight Training. Today was a leg day. Walking lunges, 3 sets. Low bar squats, 3 sets. Ham, glute raises 2 sets. Smith machine calf raises 5 sets. Then I did a HoCo.

My Civic is still at the dealership. I'm having a fuel and ignition cutoff switch installed, and maybe a gps, or an alarm. I dunno, I think I'm crazy at this point. But, that's where I'm at.

Made it home after 3 LONG days in the car...10-11 hours a day! Rode hard and put away wet! I tried for chest and tris today, but right shoulder no better, could not go heavy and had to do light close grip..really disappointing.I did sets of isos between bench sets, but could never get it to feel better. I am a physical mess! In addition to the shoulder, I cant bend over to put my socks on, do not have any idea what that's about...I did NOTHING for a week!! Did the best I could today, in addition to the crap bench I did do 3x12 pushdowns, 3x8 skullcrushers and 3x12 kickbacks, finishing with 3x30 cable crunches. I really missed the workouts, I was psychologically traumatized by not getting to, but I thought the rest might help .... I was wrong. Lisa, I am back to reality and I DONT LIKE IT!!! Karen, hope the gadgets keep your little friend safe, if so they will be worth it! Earning my title today King of Gripe checking out! Hope everyone's day is better than mine!

Good Morning Ladies. Today was lat and bi day, chins 3x8. pullovers 3x10, lat pulldowns x15 x12 x10, dumbbell curls 3x10, hammer curls 3x8 and 3 sets of 21's. Back to jail today, hopefully not too much "cold steel and sunshine" Have a great Wed all!

Tom, you are allowed to be the King of Gripe when you are the King of Shoulder Pain. Damn, I was hoping your vacation would do the trick. Hang in there and keep doing what you still can safely do.

Karen, way to work it. HoCo and Mark Lauren goes above and be your program. Whoa! Totally get you fixing your car, the things we do for our babies, whether car babies, human babies, or animal babies.

Yesterday was biceps and shoulders
Today was barre, heaven help me.

Gripe away, Tom. We're listening. Today was Chest, shoulders and triceps, with four sets of biceps thrown in. I had to give a presentation at work today, so I have been distracted the last week or so. Promise I'm here and ready to go, now.

My DH asked me if I wanted to buy a new car. But, I told him I was attached to my Honda baby. So, I am getting her fixed up. Being electrical engineers, and such, I'm sure we could rig something ourselves, as far as theft protection. When I described it to DH, he stated that it probably wouldn't be wise. That orange is the new black, isn't what it's cracked up to be. Yea, probably not for me. Have a great evening!!

Lisa did NOT like a cardio w/o...Karen in orange??? Whats happened to the world? Karen, the only girls at MY house that wear orange are the ones in trouble!! every one else is in beige. At least hubby is TRYING to keep you on the straight and narrow! Today I did shoulders, 4 sets strict press, 3x12 side lats, 3x10 barbell front raise, 3x15 rear delt flys, 3x30 shrugs and finished with 3x12 cable crunches. Everything, except shrugs and cable crunches was on the lighter end..trying to be protective! It's FRIDAY all!!!! Make the weekend GREAT AGAIN'''oh wait, where have I heard that??? Cant wait till NOV 9 to shut ALL the political ads up!! To think we have to vote for ANY of these idiots is depressing! Have a great weekend friends!

OMG Tom, sorry to rock your world so much. Seriously this election cannot come fast enough. Too bad neither of them will make America great again. Blech. I have no idea what to do. At least we can drown our sorrows with sweaty workouts and adult beverages as needed, LOL

Karen, as much as you would look great in orange, it's that hideous jumpsuit that would do you in! Hope your presentation went well.

Today I did Low Impact Challenge Step from Cathe's Low Impact Series. I don't do it often but Tom, rest assured that I loved it!!!

Tgif

Good morning all. Yesterday was a lazy day for me. I did workout, but the rest of the day was a bust. It was my leg day, and I must have done something, I am so sore this morning, I can barely walk. I think it was the front squats. There was a time, I hated front squats, but with patience, I have become quite adept. Every time I do them, I love them more. Yesterday was:
Chest raised glute raises 4 sets
45 degree back extensions 3 sets
High squats 3 sets
Front squats 2 sets
Smith Machine calf raises 5 sets
Again, I love legs (yea, I know, constantly saying that)
I agree, orange is not my color. If I wore beige, I would blend into the wall. Great camouflage color for me. And, the jumpsuit? Not just no, but, hell no!
Presentation was great, glad it's over. Is the election over? Can't come soon enough. Get to pick from two losers! Yayyyy!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Karen, I hope you're just sore from legs and not actually injured. I couldn't tell from your post if it's DOMS or worse! Congrats on the front squats improvements. You should definitely feel accomplished!

Tom, what's up?

Today I did Shock Circuit Live (10/20/16). Karen, saw that you just posted about this one and I posted right after you. I LOVED it. Cathe Live was back to its classic, awesome self. Fun, hard, but not killer. Balanced and enjoyable. It was only 40 mins so I added some lifted some weights for my back since that's the one muscle I've neglected this week.

Have a great weekend!

Karen, I'd be sore too! Yeah, yeah, yeah, Karen loves legs, Lisa loves cardio, what's a guy to say...you girls are CRAZY! Today I made up legs and arms, tough on the old guy. I did 4x10 bench squats, staying light but long for me, 3x20 gob squats (by this time "me backside" said "no mas" to which I replied "ok...but first vodka cranes!) 1 leg deads 3x8 (by now it is official...me thutt has left the room!). I finishd legs with 3x25 barbell calf raises and 2x20 1 leg calf raises. For arms I supersetted tri pushdowns 4x10, 1x8F/ ezbar curls 4x10 1x13F. I was able to hit tri's hard on chest day and bi's hard on back day, so I just did these 10 sets and called it a day. Hopefully I can get back on schedule this week. Have a great weekend friends, hopefully our MIA sistas are doing well!

Tom, I know what you mean. To do a front squat, I have to cross my arms, to hold the bar. I don't have the wrist flexibility. That has been the reason I disliked front squats. I have to do an "I Dream of Jeannie" arm cross to hold the bar. I will probably never go too heavy, the position is too awkward, to hold a heavy bar.
