Lifting like girls

Whoa, crazy day. After 8:30pm and just finally sitting down to the computer to check in!

This morning I did Long and Sculpted Legs Live (9/15/16). Karen, you MUST try this one. No weights used at all, just the gliding disc, barre, and ball. SOOOOOO tough and I'm curious how it compares to the bodyweight stuff from Mark Lauren. It's crazy how no weights can give a killer workout but man, it's true!

Tom, 16 teeth? Oh, that just makes me so sad. Since you're a dentist, you'll love hearing that I am totally OCD about dental care. I cannot start my day or end my day without brushing and flossing. Like, totally obsessed. But I'm a big believer that mouth health is an indicator of heart health and overall heart health so that motivates me for sure! Great workout, glad you got a good night's sleep, and I admire you being able to put the Power Blocks together for pull overs. I love my Power Blocks but I just can't seem to hold them together like that so I have a special heavy dumbbell reserved for pull overs, LOL!

Lib, you got it done!!! Way to go! You keep making yourself a priority. You're worth it!

I wish my internet was sufficient enough for live. I may try it one more time after STS. I did the full thing last time. I wonder if the live classes will be easier for me to stick to. I can also stream lower quality with those.

Today is leg day. I have to wait until this afternoon though. Our well went down last night, so I have no shower. Won't work before class. Lol

Yesterday was the mid-term exam for my students. I had one lady argue almost every question with me. She even was downright rude because I couldn't lean her in a direction. She is one of my best students, so I was surprised. Some people stress a lot over exams. This was a difficult one. Not looking forward to when they find out their grades.
 
Lib, yeah, the lower quality Lives are do-able for a slower Internet speed. I just love the Live workouts, so much variety and the group fitness setting is so motivational because everyone is at a different level, making it work for their own abilities. Hope you can try it sometime. Definitely nice of you to wait to do your workout until after class, especially on sweaty STS leg day! One of my least favorite memories of college and grad school was having classmates who would totally stress out and try to make other people panic, too. I don't envy your job as teacher. Tough!

Today I did a KCM 30 Mins to Fitness Athletic Step workout and then 30 mins of Gym Styles Chest & Tri. I skipped the push-ups.

Have I mentioned I hate leg day....I have?? I do! But I was the good soldier and leg day it was. Bench squats from 45-235 ( the heaviest I have gone in awhile) The lighter the weight , the longer the sets and the last couple of sets were felt in my lower back, even with the belt. Next were gob squats 50# kb x25 x20 x15, one leg dead lifts 3x8, barbell calf raises x20 x15 x15, single calf raises 3x20 and donkey presses, 2x20 and finished with 1 x 50 cable crunches. Yesterday. in the first 2 appointments, I removed 25" freakin" teeth!! The worst part of the story is that they were all unsavable and they wanted them out due to pain and the fact that we are saving them probably thousands of dollars. I have never seen two girls so happy to loose 25 teeth! On the bright side, kinda nice to lift at 11:00, not 5 AM! Have a good Wed friends!
 
Today was another Cathe Live. Long Sculpted Legs!!! Love it!! Oh yes, I am so into this!! Thanks Lisa! I haven't done floor work in so long, I was dying. But felt so good.
This workout and Mark Lauren, are a whole different animal. Mark Lauren, is more burpees, dive bomber push-ups, very metabolic stuff, that works the whole body. This Cathe Live, was a great class. But, Cathe and Mark are very different. I love them both. They both lead a great workout.

I came home and did legs, disc three....I now remember why I couldn't walk for days after! Also why my legs shrank so much!

I didn't eat enough today. But, a little too much yesterday. I had a craving for sweet, so had some strawberry Greek yogurt with Kashi multi-grain crunch cereal. I am sticking to it.

The results I had last time, and that picture, keep me pushing. I even did the extended add on.

We have water. Yay!

I did cardio this morning, and I actually wanted to workout.

It was from a program called Figure 8, a dancing program. I did the ab workout, which was mostly belly dancing, and some Bollywood.

My son said it didn't look hard. It wasn't, but I did something, I replied.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm too old and not bright enough to do this. Low back really sore today because I wasn't smart enough to stop when I felt it yesterday. Shoulder sore, probably because I wasn't smart enough to quit something earlier...blaming it on endorphins, but probably due to stupidity! Anyway, my attempt at shoulder day, 5 sets of light militaries, never really got better, front raise/lateral raise with a 10# plate 3 x 20, rear delt fly (laid on incline bench to keep from bending over) 3x15, tried dumbbell shoulder press but no good, heavy dumbbell shrugs x40 x30 x30, went back to militaries but dropped to a 45# bar 1x30. No abs due to the back thing. Lib, I'm "wid ya",,,,,, did something!! Getting my flu shot this afternoon...something to look forward too!! ha
 
Tom, Karen, leg day and pulling teeth? LMAO over your back and forth. It's all about perspective, right? I'd rather do leg day EVERY SINGLE DAY than ever put my hands in someone else's mouth, to pull teeth or clean teeth or floss teeth or anything else. BLECH! I'm glad there are people out there like you, Tom, who are willing to do the dirty work.

Karen, thanks for the Cathe/Mark comparison. I've never done Mark's stuff so I knew you could give me the 411. Yeah, that was a killer Live, right? I don't love barre work or floor work, but I do love the DOMS they give me. Great variety!

Tom, good boy for getting your flu shot. I'm one of those people who will never stand in line for Black Friday shopping but I will stay up all night to be the first in line to get my flu shot each season! I'm kinda paranoid about getting it. Way to go on your 235# bench squats! Pretty great for someone who hates leg day!

Lib, way to conquer STS Disc 3 and get your cardio in today. STS legs are killer for sure, and I sure do love those add ons. You've got the right idea, going for the fun cardio. Gotta make it fun, right? You are so dedicated, you have the eye of the tiger. Keep it up, girl!

Today I did the first 30 mins of Cathe's Cardio Kick DVD and then did Gym Styles Back & Biceps. I skipped shoulders because my right shoulder has been talking to me. Maybe I'll hit 'em tomorrow, we'll see.

Glad I didn't read that until after my workout, I wouldn't have made it through otherwise!

Today's workout was a mouth full, pun intended, ha! Low Impact Cardio Leg Blast Plus Ball Upper Body Live (6/16/16), but I only did the first half of the Live because I wanted to focus on leg cardio, so I did--w/up + low impact legs only and then for good measure added the 3 combos from Cathe's MMA Boxing DVD. A fun hour! Tomorrow I might do the "Ball Upper Body" part of this Live plus cardio. Karen, you'd like this one. I've done it before. It's great.

Karen, my arm felt it was bruised for about two days.

I did Figure 8 Fitness again today. Whoa! I wanted to do it. I didn't realize how much I would like this. I have had it for sometime, but never really did it. I wasn't ready for the level of cardio, or the commitment. I pulled it out because I have been taking this belly dancing classes, and went dancing with Richard a couple of times. Then I put everything on hold for school and kids. Anyway, I missed it, and this has salsa, samba, belly dancing, jive, broadway, and a couple of others. I like how she breaks it up, so by the time you realize you are out of breath, you have gotten the move down, and she is moving on to a new rotation. So the time flies by, and it is easy to lower or raise the intensity, at least for me.

Tomorrow is STS disc 4, then will keep doing the Figure 8 Fitness on alt days for the cardio....well until I get bored or finish STS.

Oh, LOVE the fit tower for STS! I like using it for push-ups too, that was a nice trick. Almost ready to move back to the floor. :)
