Hardcore Fitness Maniacs January 2025

Holy crap, it is a war zone here in southern CA! We are ok where I live but the winds just keep coming and coming every darn day. The state keeps cutting our power to avoid more fires and our water pressure is way down to help give the fire fighters more water to fight the fires. I got one workout in on Friday, I did CL All In Upper Body, then my power got cut and I could not post my workout. I just do not feel like a workout today; all of this stress has my mind distracted from workouts. I will start back at it tomorrow. Gavin Newsom and the L A Mayor should resign how he has handled this fire situation. They sent most of our fire equipment to Ukraine!!!!!!!!! What idiots.

Great job on the workouts the past week everyone. I need to go back and read each post and get caught up.

Happy Sunday.

Rest day today and most likely tomorrow.

Belinda, I am so sorry. Sending prayers your way and that you get well soon.

Jolie, I understand the distress over this. It should never have happened like this. I hope people wake up and vote for someone better. It is so sad. Nice job on Fridays CL ALL Upper Body.

Workout was 47 minutes, burned 375 calories, did 3268 steps and HR was 139/166.

Belinda - OMG, so sorry you have Covid!! I doubt you got it when they did your eye since it's incubation time is two weeks. I sure hope you get better soon. Also, glad to hear your eye is doing so well! Yay!!

Diane - Great job with your workout on Saturday. Enjoy your rest day!!

Jolie - I cannot believe all the destruction that has happened in CA. Are you guys close enough to smell the smoke? I hope everyone in CA makes Newscum and that worthless mayor to resign. Two of the most ignorant leaders on the planet and both blaming the other. Just unbelievable. How do you not have water in fire hydrants for goodness sakes. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Hope you all have great workouts!!

I am so proud of myself; I got a workout in today! I did CL Vertical Loading 2 and had a great workout. I used my Max Trainer on manual mode, resistance 5 for all of the leg portions of the workout, I am dead! That machine is tuff stuff, but it works the legs so good. There is no wind here today, but I just saw on the news that it is going to kick back up again. We have so much ash floating in the air, I have to stay indoors. My white car looks dark gray with all of the ash on it. The clean up when this is done is going to be a lot, hopefully we get some rain this next weekend, it is in the forecast.

Debbie, great job on the workout today. Yes, all of these politicians need to resign, what a joke! The insurance rates are going to go through the roof. Our fire insurance doubled this year, we pay $3500 more a year now, I bet they are going to cancel us too. So many people were cancelled right before the fire started. Isn't that a coincident!

Belinda, you have Covid! So sorry to hear that news. I hope you are doing well.

Diane Sue, I hope you had a good rest day. I love my rest days :)

Have a great day.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 132 calories, HR 88/124.

Jolie - Great job getting in an excellent workout yesterday!! I have a love/hate thing with my Max Trainer, I haven't been on it in quite some time. Just have a dread factor with it and that's why I don't get on it much anymore. I used to be able to stay on there for 25 minutes, I did really hard workouts on it when I first got it. Now I have no desire to work that hard. Age maybe? I don't know. I should force myself to get on it again. That's terrible about all the ash in your area. I do hope you get some rain soon. And the insurance issues going on over there is incredible. I cannot believe they cancelled policies 6 months ago. What gives them the right to do that? Someone's head needs to roll for that.

Roselyn - Glad you had fun in Key West!! It is only 7 degrees here today with the wind chill. Holy moly!!

Have a great workout everyone!

Hi,

I am starting to feel a little better. I have this horrible medal taste in my mouth from Paxlovid. No fever. Still resting. My eyesight is still blurry.

Diane - thank you! Means a lot to me.

Debbie - thank you! That’s what I thought too. The incubation time is 2 -14 day’s. I stayed home for 2 weeks. I didn’t wanted to risk catching a cold or anything. The ER doctor thinks I caught it in the hospital, which makes sense since I stayed home. Nobody came to visit us. I haven’t been around anyone other than the hospital. I am on a lot of immune depressend medicines. Thanks to the infusions I developing Leukopenia . My WBC is very low. I wear a mask everywhere I go especially around people. So is my husband.

Jolie - thank you!

Today I had an excellent workout. I had to do another weight workout because my schedule this week is a little different since I have an early morning Chiropractic appointment on Friday. Today I did Caroline Girvan's Epic Heat Giant Killer Upper Body Workout and it was 36 minutes long. Boy, these are tuff workouts, but I loved it! This is a Giant Set format and you repeat the sets 2 times. I went light weights because I lifted heavy yesterday. I am sore today from yesterday's workout too. I am going to start doing more of Caroline's workouts because they are great when you are short on time.

Seated Overhead Press- 12's
Lat Raises- 8's
Face Pulls- 12's
Seated Arnold Press- 12's

Bent Over Rows- 15's
1 Arm Rows- 15#
Superman
Pullovers- 20#

Chest Press- 17's
Close Grip Chest Press- 15's
Chest Flys- 12's
No Pushups, Chest Press- 15's

Clean and Press- 15's
Hammer Curls- 12's
Alternating Cross Body Curl to Arnold Press- 12's
Scull crushers- 10's (my Triceps are sore from yesterday's workout)

Finisher
Kickbacks, no dips- 8's
Traditional Bicep Curls- 12's

Debbie, great job on the workout today, that one is great! You are so strong again, it amazes me. I guess if I had not suffered this collarbone injury, I would be the same way too. I do not want to go back to that injury ever again. I use my Max Trainer for short bursts, no longer than 3 minutes at a time and then there is NO dread factor. My quads are killing me today so it must work doing it like that way too. Try it in between sets for an extra calorie burn, it is amazing.

Roselyn, I am glad you are back and enjoyed the weather!

Belinda, I am glad you are feeling better.

Make it a great day. Tomorrow is a walk with the pup for my workout.

No workout yesterday since I had the doctor appointment and then we spent 3 hours at Verizon. This morning I did LMR Functional Pilates Fusion, 34 minutes, 77 calories. That is all I had time for and I wanted to get my back and ribs loosened up. This does have quite a bit of time on hands for the fabric band work and mini ball work. They had to get my husband's phone from another store and now I am getting a new one because there system doesn't work with my 3 year old phone. Mine should be there tomorrow(hopefully) And I still cannot get on their app for some reason so I can set up the internet.
Doctor's appointment has me going to two more appointments. One for a pulmonary function test for asthma and a CT of my lungs. I am not looking forward to it. I have cardiovascular echo and dr next week and now the PF test. Messes me up on getting things done.

Debbie, nice work on STS body parts Chest yesterday.

Belinda, I am glad you are improving. Hopefully your eyesight clears soon. That is so sad that you are so careful and got covid.

Jolie, good job on Epic Heat Killer Upper Body workout.

Roselyn nice job on triceps. I am glad the mammogram was negative.

Diane - I hope your appt went well yesterday. Thank you. I think my right eye needs more time to get used to the implant. Not to mention it was my worse eye too. Yes, it’s said I got covid being so careful. Paxlovid is really helping. Although it leaves me with a nasty taste and stomach. I am glad when I am done with it.

Today I did CDorner Fast Basic Step Rock n Roll #344, 49 minutes, 239 calories, 4,328 steps followed by LMR bonus upper body foam roller skipping the mini workout and LMR Functional Yoga Timesaver 2 floor, 31 minutes, 43 calories. Total time 80 minutes, 282 calories.

Debbie, nice work today on Raw Box for Your waistline.

Belinda, the appointment has me now going next Friday for a pulmonary function test and a chest CT that I will do March as I set the time on it. So two appointments next week because I also see the cardiologist.
Have you done a follow up with the doctor since the surgery? I hope it starts feeling better soon.

Diane - hope your appointment goes well on next Friday. I just had a CT scan on Saturday in the ER. Yes, my follow up with the doctor was the day after my surgery. I am already feeling better. I am glad when I am done with Paxlovid tomorrow. Nice job on your step workout. I miss working out. I will check in after my surgery if I can.

Roselyn - Good job with Legs!!

Have a great day everyone!!

evening,

I spend most day in the ER. I am having chills last 2 day’s. This morning I got this wicked headache. I couldn’t move my head. I am running a fever on top. The doctors were worried it had something to do with my eye surgery. My eye feels great. Just to rule it out they ran all kinds of tests. They ran a IV Thyenol and fluid IV. Helped a little. My head is killing me. I have Covid. I am on Paxlovid. My eye is feeling great.

I will catch up in the morning.
Wow, you're really going through it. I'm so sorry. Healing thoughts & energy to you. Rest, stay hydrated & eat very nutrition food!

Hi,

I had to report to the hospital at 7:30 am, got prepped with 3 rounds eye drops. My left eye is so dilated, just to find out all surgeries got cancelled due to electrical problems. I was released from the hospital around lunch time. Surgery will be next Thursday.

Debbie - yes, covid sucks! I am so glad I took my last Paxlovid today. Great job on your weight workout today.

Deanna - thank you! I been resting, I had cataract surgery last week. Can‘t do a lot for a few weeks.

I will be back with personals.

I did not do anything today. Everything was just too much for my neck and upper back the last two day. Hours sitting in a chair with metal back at Verizon 2 days. I also spent too much time looking at my cell phone, arms reaching up trying to get the Nest thermostat internet set back up. Everything has been a battle getting going and I still have some things to take care of. Having a thermostat hooked up to wifi is crazy. I wondered why it was getting cold in our house and when I checked the thermostat it said no internet. Why I could not set the changes on the app like I did for the doorbell, I do not know. I got to bed at 3 am this morning. Any way I am experiencing a lot of pain from all of this. I am having a family gathering/birthday's this weekend so a lot to do there.

Belinda, I am so sorry that you did not get your eye procedure done and now have to wait. How discouraging.

Debbie, good job on STS 2 Biceps. I like the one body part ones too. They are not as long and you get a really good workout for the body part. Chris is throwing in some beginner workouts lately. The one I did is one I have in my saved workouts because I liked it had decent music, nothing complicated, and faster paced. I do like the ones she says are fast paced. Usually not a lot of slow downs to show the moves.

I forgot to check in yesterday. I walked the pup for 4.2 miles through the hills and boy was that a butt burner! Today is my rest day #1 for the week. I have an early morning chiro appointment tomorrow so I will only have time for a dog walk. I plan on working out over the weekend.
Have a great day.
