Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for October 2019

Today I walked 30 min and did STB standing lower body barre.

I called to make an appointment for my finger today, my doctor is on vacation until Friday. I didn't wanted to wait until Friday so I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning with a different doctor.

BBL!

Having a much better day today, my son did all of his homework last night, went to bed early and was actually in a great mood because he was prepared for school! Image that!!! We have noticed that he lashes out due to bad grades and the position he puts himself in, when he is prepared and doing well he is really a great kid. We did take his car away last night and if he has any missing assignments, he will loose his phone next. I think he might just get it together if i constantly stay on him. He is a great kid, i just have to bring him back from where ever he has been the last few years.

Today i went for a walk outside because it is the most beautiful fall morning and i wanted to soak it up. I did 3 miles, 52 minutes and burned an amazing 522 calories. I did all hills, going down is hard on the knees, unfortunately, there are only hills where i live unless i drive to the beach. Average heartrate was 141 and max was 181.

Debbie, i don't mind you giving your opinion at all, that is why i posted it. I need feedback from people who may have gone through something similar, so what you said is much appreciated. I tell you, if he isn't smoking pot and does his school work, he is such a great kid. But, this whole Pot fiasco is killing everyone around here. I spoke to his college councilor yesterday and she said he can totally get his grades up in time before the end of the semester. All i want is for him to graduate so when he finally grows up and matures, he has a chance to go back to school and excel. He wants to become a contractor so he will be going to trade school. My other son is a finance major and going to get a Masters in Economics. What a difference between the two boys! Great job on getting on the treadmill, i wished mine was fixed. I am going to looks at some new ones this week, what brand do you have and do you like it?

Diane Sue, how are you feeling today? Since it is Fall, it is time to make some soups. I have to get out some recipes and decide what to make so i can freeze it for dinners. I hope you have a great workout today.

Belinda, i am glad you are feeling better today, i bet a long nap like that would do the trick, but how is the jet lag?

Doreen, that sounds like a really cool app, i have to check it out. Great job on the workout today. Do you ever check your calorie burns?

Roselyn, good luck with the packing and the move next week. I just went through that so i know what it is like!!!!

Have a great day!

Today I did my PT exercises for 30 minutes, 66 calories, Ice to the Mat 50 minutes, 221 calories, and Jane Adams Yoga 7 practices for your day relief from desk work, 15 minutes, 33 calories. Total time 95 minutes. I wrote out all of the exercises they are putting me through right now at PT so I can remember. So many changes.
I did have to alter a couple of the moves in To the Mat as those side planks and other plank moves were too much. For plank step in step outs with the loop, I just did firewalkers. I am working off of my arms more with PT, but I am not pushing my limits and paying for it. I am trying to up some calories. I keep dropping weight. I am down to 112 today. It seems I am eating plenty. I am not hungry. Dinner was a 5 oz salmon, broccoli steamed, kale salad with apples, slivered almonds, dried cherries, and Whole 30 ranch dressing. I eat a lot of fish lately. I had a can of Wild albacore tuna on a Mikey's cassava tortilla with Whole 30 ranch and lettuce along with a cup of Cashewgurt with nuts and coconut and a bit of coconut butter mixed in. I really am eating. I snacked on pineapple and had my Mmm Matcha with lions mane and astralgus superfood mixed with Milkadamia unsweetened nut milk and Garden of Life Collagen apple and cinnamon flavor iced. Kombucha tea as well. Cream in my coffee. So, I don't get the weight loss since I am not as active right now.
Tomorrow I have to get up early and drive to my grandson's school for Grandparent's day, so I doubt I will do anything except maybe PT when I get home. His other grandmother and I are taking him to lunch and he will be done with school for the day.

Debbie, nice that you were able to get in some walking before work this morning. I saw Kelly said her October Ripped and Ride was up and running.

Doreen, that sounds like an interesting app. So are they filming you? While you are watching the route?

Belinda, good luck with the doctor appointment tomorrow.

Jolie, I am glad that things were better last night and today. Hopefully he wakes up. Your hill walk sounds nice.

Roselyn, nice work on Cardio Leg Blast.

Once again I just did a walk/jog on my treadmill. This muscle in my upper shoulder area is not letting up, although it is better. It seems to feel great at night and then when I wake up its all tight again. I think it must be the way I'm sleeping. It is getting better, just taking it's good old time.

I did alternating 2 minute jogs and 3 minute walk for about the first 25 minutes. Then I just walked the rest of it. Feels great to jog again!! Hamstring has been ok so far.

I walked/jogged for 50 minutes, burned 380 calories, went 2.87 miles and did 6549 steps. HR was 131/180.

Be back later for personals. Great workouts, everyone!

Good morning,

Had to cancel my appointment for this morning, I forgot I already had another appointment scheduled. I couldn't reschedule the one I have for today. Back to Friday appointment with my finger. Hoping the swelling goes down by Friday.

Yesterday I saw saw my Orthodontist. I have been waiting for Refinements (those are tray's that will correct everything that the original sets of tray's didn't do) for 2 month (wore the same set of tray's for the last 2 month). She took off all my attachments and put new ones one. Some of my teeth have 2 attachments instead of one. It's something I have to get used too, it's harder to get my tray's in and out. My bite has been off for month, I told my Ortho month ago my teeth all the sudden don't align. I had trouble chewing food. If all goes well, my Ortho thinks I will be done in 6 month. I am so glad when this is over. I am counting down :)

I have to get ready for an appointment. I will be back later. I have no idea what workout I will do today?

I had trouble deciding on a workout this morning. I finally found a Sydney Cummings Strength Circuits workout which ended up being like a PHA because she did upper body for 3 sets, lower body for 3 set and then abs.

No workout today, my poor dog was sick all night, i had to take him to the hospital this morning so they could hydrate him and give him meds to stop the vomiting and other issues. I think he ate something bad or he is sick, not sure. I got some very upsetting news, they said he has an irregular heart beat now, it is really bad. :( He is 13 years old but i just cant stand the thought of something happening to my best friend. I love this animal, he has helped me get through some really tough times and my heart is breaking. Obviously i am not going to do anything for his heart because of his age and the expense. All i can do is hug him to death, he is looking at my like i have lost my mind! LOL

Great workouts everyone. I have a spasm in my left hip again, i am getting tired of this issue!!!!

I will workout tomorrow, i am cleaning every rug in my house right now from the mess of last night. It was a good idea to buy indoor and outdoor rugs when we moved!

I finally got a 45 min walk in. I also caught up on all my work. Glad that's done.

Jolie - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your fur baby. I know how you feel. I hope he feels better soon (((HUGS))) Good news on your son. Sorry about the spasm in your hip. If it rains it pours.

Roselyn - good luck with your move next week. I hope you got the house you wanted.

Debbie - nice step count this morning. I miss having a TM.

Diane - the exercises you are doing sound interesting. Wished I could say I am losing weight, lol. I gained 3 pounds on vacation. Wish isn't bad considering I wasn't watching what I ate or didn't do any workouts. I am back to normal.

Doreen - I have too look that one up. Workout sounds great.

No time for PT this morning. The other grandmother could not come so it was just me and my grandson. I took him to Pops on Route 66 for lunch since it is on the way to his house. He was all for that. Funny boy ordered a grilled egg sandwich. They said it wasn't breakfast time, but they made it for him with French fries rather than what went with the breakfast menu. I got a tomato wrap with turkey, avocado, and provolone that was grilled. It was yummy. I was stuffed by the time I was done with it. I have been doing a few chin tucks and neck stretches along with the nerve glide move since I have been home. After all of that driving and sitting on bleachers my shoulder and neck were bothering me a bit. All of the walking from building to building and the back of the parking lot, up and down stairs got me some steps. I am over 5,100 this afternoon. I stopped at Sprouts for a couple of things till I can get out and do some real shopping. I keep buying those mid sized bottles of alkaline water. I am avoiding picking up the large packs of water. I don't want to set things off like that again. Tomorrow I will get some workout in.

Debbie, sorry you keep feeling tight. I was sleeping in bad positions. My Robin Mckenzie neck roll is helping and I have resorted to my little My Pillow roll and go pillow for a pillow. When I started doing that I quit having the neck pain when I wake up. I just don't put the roll inside a pillow case. It comes with it's own cover anyway. I put it under my neck and my head on the little pillow. This gets my spine in the right alignment. Learning to sleep on my back has been a trial, but I am getting better. Bob and Brad physical therapists on You Tube say if you sleep on your side you should probably have a little taller pillow and a small pillow under the torso to keep from putting so much pressure on the shoulder joint. Just some things I have learned.

Belinda, I am sorry that you had to cancel your doctor appointment, but I understand getting in to the orthodontist. I bet you really will be glad to get all of that done with. You will love it though when it is all finished. I am learning some new ways to do strength moves :) Also understand now why band work always made my neck hurt. I was using the wrong muscles that made it target my shoulders and trap area more than the back muscles I was supposed to be targeting. We are working on that. From habit, they just want to take over the work.

Doreen, I love the PHA workouts. I am sure having a different instructor made it interesting.

Jolie, I am sorry your dog is sick and is having heart problems. My daughter's retriever seemed fine and one day my son in law and grandson were out playing with her and she was chasing a ball. She went and laid down and her heart just quit. It was so sad. She was only 8 though. I don't know why it is that dogs tend to want to find a rug to vomit on. Gertie targets my son room on the indoor outdoor carpet. It used to be the hallway to our bedroom, but after we got rid of the carpet and put in wood floors that changed. I have washable runners in the entry and one that runs to the kitchen. Keeps her from drooling her water across the wood floor so much. I am sure your heart goes out to your friend. I think the have some sort of sense of when we are sad or upset. My heart goes out to you.

Back for personals:

Belinda - I'm glad you are going to see your doctor about your finger. I can't believe it's still infected. Hopefully they can give you something a bit stronger to fight the infection. Maybe a pack of steroids? I had braces when I was a kid and I hated them. I remember how sore my mouth would be after they tightened them. I know yours are different but I'm sure you still feel the pressure. Not fun.

Doreen - Good job with your workout today!

Jolie - Girl, all your drama would drive me crazy! LOL! You can't catch a break, can you? I sure hope your little friend is ok. And don't worry about his heart, a lot of animals have that problem. One of my cats has an irregular heart beat. My vet doesn't seem too concerned about it. Hugs, hope he feels better today!

Diane - Where did you and your grandson go? Sounds like you had a good day and it also sounds like your pain isn't as bad. I hope that is the case. Mine feels pretty good tonight, I hope it is finally healing.

Have a great evening everyone!

This morning I did Kelly's RAW Home Gym Intervals #1 again as I am feeling better in my upper back and wanted to get some sort of weights in today. I feel good now so hopefully the knot has finally broken up. Had a great workout. I jogged on my treadmill for cardio and added one more 1 minute jog at the end, then I cooled down on the treadmill and followed Kelly with the stretch.

Each interval was 1 minute:

Squats - 15's
Cardio
Front Curls - 15's
Cardio
Squat/Alternate Pledge - 15's
Cardio
Goblet Squat/Calf Raise - 20#
Cardio
Front Raise - 15#
Cardio
Plie w/Upright Row - 12's
Cardio
Kickstand Deadlifts - 15's
Cardio
Overhead Dumbbell Extension - 15#
Cardio
Deadlifts/Kickbacks - 15's
(I just did deadlifts again since kickbacks hurt my upper back sometimes)

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 234 calories, HR was 146/178 and did 2548 steps.

I also walked on my treadmill for another 20 minutes, burned an extra 136 calories, went 1 mile and 2453 steps. HR was 124/129.

Tomorrow I want to try RAW Drills and Compound Moves. Is this a new workout? I don't remember seeing it before?

Have great workouts everyone!

I am getting ready to go try out Jessica Smith Walk Strong and Have Fun: have a ball or something like that. She uses a play ball or a towel or something else can be substituted. I also am definitely going to get in PT. I have a lot of catch up to do. My husband is off tomorrow. I keep having so many outside distractions. PT is tomorrow early when I go in. I really need to do grocery shopping. I stopped at Sprouts and picked up some bottles of water (not the big pack:confused: Just not ready to go for heavy) a protein bar and RX nut butter. The refrigerator is getting empty as I keep doing smaller shopping sprees so I don't over do carrying the stuff around.

Debbie, I went and looked at Kelly's web page for Raw and when I click on sort by date it starts with the descending pyramids so is not quite up to date. I do not see boxing and drills there so it must be one of the latest ones. Usually I do those workouts as they come out and I am a bit behind on them. Other than printing out the format of the one 5 day workout that I previewed I do not have that one. I had noticed it and thought it did not look familiar. Yes, I am feeling a lot better. Just occasionally I feel twinges, like yesterday after sitting on bleachers and driving all over (I am sure my posture got off) But, I feel fine today. I took my grandson to Pops which is sort of an icon Route 66 restaurant/ gas station/ memorabilia/ Pop stop. It has every kind of pop there is. Bottles are displayed up the glass walls, they sell them refrigerated. My son once came home with one from Dog and Suds drive in which is not longer around. It was their root beer. I used to work at one when I was a teenager as a cook. It was pretty cool. The sell Pops, Oklahoma, and Route 66 t shirts and clothing. It has a giant pop bottle that is lit up in the front. You can see it from a long way off. I chose there as my grandson thought it would be fun and it is not far from his house so I could take him home. Not many restaurants out there. It is country and mainly homes scattered. Not too far from the city though. There is often Poker runs and different motorcycle groups that use it as a stop.

Hi everyone,

I first I started out with Ilaria Bodystrikes 6. She did a lot of bunching. Had to stop. Pop in Bodystrike 1, it was all lower body except a few exercises. I modified I few exercises. Thanks Jolie for the recommendation :)

Debbie - I can't believe my finger is still infected. Tomorrow I am done with the antibiotics. I will bring up the steroids since the antibiotics are not working. I never had braces before. After 2 month using the same tray's, my teeth got used to not moving, lol. Usually my teeth are sore for the first 2-3 day's with a set of new tray's. I change tray's every 10 day's. I think you mouth gets sore with regular braces and Invisalign. They both move your roots/teeth. I am glad when it's over. Like the looks of your workout today.

Diane - have fun with Have a Ball. It's a lot of fun.

Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

This morning I did the BitGym New Zealand bike route for 40 minutes before I ran out of time. This was pretty scenery and verbal coaching on when to stand and when to add more gear, etc.

It is a good morning for me today. My dog Rusty is feeling better, he is on Antibiotics, Probiotics and stomach friendly dog food and is doing well, no accidents today!!!! I think he ate something really bad for him, he will eat anything, and i mean anything, and when it is on the street, who knows what it may be! I hope his little heart hangs in there, i love him to pieces. Debbie, i remember when your kitty a few years back was having issues and you were so upset, well, that is how i am feeling at the moment.

Today i did not want to workout because of all of the drama in my life, i forced myself to do Cathe's Glassboro Roadtrip and had an awesome workout. I didn't lift as heavy as the last time i did it but i did really great with what i chose for each exercise. Unfortunately, my Fitbit pauses towards the end of the workout so i don't have a total calorie burn. I got to 48 minutes and had burned 357 calories. I hate when this happens, i must touch it somehow and not realize that it pauses. I really like this workout, basic and hits all of the upper body muscles as well as ABS

Debbie, nice job on the workout today, i bet you are loving the running section of the workout. I bet you could use your other piece of cardio equipment, the max trainer for the cardio as well. I use my elliptical when i have done that workout in the past. I am really loving cardio again, i go through bouts when i don't even want to do it, now i am loving it again.

Diane Sue, Great job on the walking workout today. I think i am going to cook this weekend and make some Fall recipes. I made Lasagna last week and it turned out great. I know you don't each cheese, but i love it. Are the leaves turning colors in your neck of the woods. Fall is my favorite time of the year and i bet where you live it is really pretty. I am glad you are doing well with the sleeping, there is nothing worse than a poor nights sleep.

Doreen, way to go on the bike ride today, that sounds like so much fun! When i ride my spin bike it hurts my right knee so i don't put my toes in the clips so i can kind of move my leg in a position that doesn't hurt. Do you use the toe clips?

Belinda, good luck at the doctors and i am so happy you did Body Strikes, those are good low body workouts that use no weights, so that probably was good for your finger...

Roselyn, i hope you packing is going well. How is school?

BBL to read your posts, i have to go to Walmart to buy waters, i hate going there it is so crowded.

Belinda, glad that one of those Illaria workouts worked for you.

Doreen, nice work today with the ride again.

Jolie, I am glad your dog is doing better today. I keep some stuff I get at Pets Mart on hand for Gertie when she has an upset stomach. It has pectin in it. I am not sure what else, but usually a couple of doses and things are much better. I have often wondered what prompts the upset stomach. My dog rarely hangs out outdoors unless I am with her. Otherwise she sits on the doorstep. No problems in awhile with her though. Hoping winter goes well since last winter she lost spots of hair and her fur got very thin. The vet suggested that it might be seasonal alopecia. Usually from not getting enough sun. Now I make her go back outside and enjoy some sun once in awhile. At least I try to encourage her out there. I am hoping the vet was wrong though. She got better with some antibiotic and the special shampoo I used. I am still using it since the vet said to use it all of the time. I am making enchiladas for our family brunch Sunday. That is something I can make the day before and then pop in the oven after we get home from church. I like cheese. Particularly swiss cheese, provolone, and pepper jack. The problem is dairy can trigger inflammation, is one of the bigger problems when there is health issues, cholesterol, saturated fat etc. When I was really working on an alkaline diet protocol dairy was to be eaten alone which cuts out those cheesy dishes. The thing is, when trying to keep from acid systems from eroding bones you need to avoid those things that trigger the acid and dairy is one of them. I enjoy cheese occasionally. I love a grilled swiss and avocado sandwhich on Ezekial bread as a treat. I am sure I will eat at least one of those enchiladas. My daughter is bringing chips and queso which is worrisome.
Fall does get very colorful. Things are changing here. My grandson picked up a really bright red leaf yesterday wondering what it was till he looked at it closer. The only thing is, all of the nice green grass will eventually be dormant and brown. Then I get to clean up lots of leaves from all of these big oak trees, along with acorns, that are not in my yard. My whole back yard is shaded by trees on the outside of the fence.

I forgot my workout  Today I did Walk Strong and Have Fun: Have a Ball, 33 minutes, heart rate average 133, max 172, 2,449 steps, 196 calories, met 7.5. This was fun and different. I then did PT exercises 45 minutes, 100 calories. Total time 78 minutes, 296 calories.
I think my dog frightened the Amazon delivery guy. She was in the house, but barking like crazy and when I looked out the gate was left hanging open and the package was sitting like he dropped it on the porch. I bet he thought she might be in back, as you cannot see the behind the house as we have a long walkway from the gate to the back yard. The only entrance on our house is through the gate unless you are coming in through the garage. The same thing happened when UPS came the other day. I left the door open so I could watch for him through the storm door as he was bringing my husband's new computer and I had to sign for it. Gertie started barking and the guy headed back out the gate. I know he could see her. I went out and he handed it to me over the gate and the signature pad. He said he has been bitten before. I just told him I understand and I try to keep my dog inside when I know packages are coming.

This morning I did Kelly's RAW Step Drills & Compound Moves and it was the best workout ever. I love this one, so fun!! The step moves are easy and got my HR up and the compound moves were unique. She uses 12# dumbbells and so did I but I probably should have used 10's on some of the exercises. I did drop down to 5's when she did lateral raises. 12# lateral raises are a no no for me. Anyways, loved it. It went by really fast and I worked up a good sweat. I didn't have time to write down the moves, I'll try and watch it this weekend and document it. Not sure why I never seen this workout before or have done it. I highly recommend it.

Workout was 39 minutes, burned 310 calories, did 2808 steps and HR was 145/208. Pretty sure my heart rate didn't get that high.

Walked on my treadmill for the last 10 minutes of my workout time and went about .5 miles. Then I stretched and laid on my therapy ball for a few with the ball between my shoulder blades and spine. It feels so good when I do that. The muscle there is still a bit tight, but definitely better.

Be back later for personals hopefully. If not, I will be sometime this weekend.
