Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2021

Today I did one of the workouts that Kelly just put up. Raw Hi Low: Step, 40 minutes (38:43) 171 calories, 3,766 steps, heart rate 109/151. This was fun and no boxing. It does the hi/lo first and then the step uses the same move and is on and off the step bench so easy to just switch out if one does not want to do step. I wanted to do the new weight workout, but think another day or two of rest for neck and shoulders from all of the shoveling and stuff. I also did CDorner # 118 abs on the Bosu, 19 minutes, 29 calories, 88/101 heart rate , 163 steps. Total today was 59 minutes, 200 calories, 3,929 step. Another house showing today and school. Need groceries!! Sorry I don't get here as much.
 
Roselyn - wishing your husband a speedy recovery. My husband is getting both knees replaced in April.

Debbie - isn't she great? I love everything about her. Love her music! I am kinda burned out these day's. I will return to Chris step soon.

Today I had a great workout. I did Caroline Girvan's Upper Body workout with DB's and boy was this a great workouts. It is 40 seconds on and 20 seconds off so you can use lite weights because the rep count is high. It is done in a different kind of format, the first set is 4 sets per exercise, the second set is 3 sets, the third set is 2 sets and the last 16 exercises are done only 1 time for each exercise. Wow, this was fun. Workout was 55 minutes, i had to pause a lot to write down all of the exercises and I burned 389 calories.

That was fantastic and I wore a new back brace and it did wonders for my back support. I could do that one more time this week and that is all I would need for upper body.


Debbie, I will go back and read that post about what you are going to do going forward. Great workout today, I will look at those and see what they are like. I plan on walking and getting on the elliptical and try a short run tomorrow. I agree with you on not lifting heavy anymore, I think I am done with that as well. All I pray for is feeling good for long periods of time and that is it. Are you going to be able to kick box at all? I am not sure if that is in my future.

Belinda, great workout today. It was 80 degrees here yesterday and it will be 75 degrees today. I am loving it. I will check out that website that you spoke about regarding working out over 50. I workout so hard and seem to never loose weight, it is only when I am on a diet and watch my eating do I ever loose a pound. I would love to loose 10 pounds!!!!!

Doreen, great idea working out for 30 minutes and walking and getting work done the other 30 minutes. I cant focus when walking, i cant see very well and that would never work for me :( What do you do for a living?

Diane Sue, great workout today. How is the weather, is it warming up like it is in Texas? Boy that was a cold spell you all had last week. Did you sell your house?

Roselyn, how is your husband doing? Great job getting a workout in with all that is going on in your life. Way to go!

Today I did CDorner #151 At Home Legs & Abs, no equipment workout. It was just ok. I liked the standing leg work and then she got down on the floor and did abs and then did floor work for hamstrings. I stopped there, it was boring and my HR wasn't going up at all. So I only did a little over half of the workout. I found a different workout for legs I wanted to do and so I viewed it on my phone and then it's supposed to be in my history on my TV under Youtube. I couldn't find a history tab (WTF?) so I found the workout I did. Then when I was exiting her workout I seen the history tab. I might try that one later on this week.

Workout was 30 minutes, burned only 79 calories (geez, why even bother?), HR was 80/107.

I also walked on my treadmill for 20 minutes just to get my HR up and get in some steps.

Doreen - LOL on her talking to people live, I get it, it just can get annoying when you want to start the workout and she's talking to everyone. But I guess that is why she has such a following. I know I will like her workouts, and can't wait to try more. Now the one I did today she wasn't talking to anyone so that was nice. Great job with your workout yesterday!

Belinda - Thank you for the links, I will check them out. I'm curious as to what it says. Is CDorner's first name Chris or Celeste? I thought I heard her say "I'm Celeste"? Anyways, I know I will love her workouts!!

Diane - I will try the new Kelly step workout this week, probably tomorrow. Can't wait. Glad there is no boxing in it! Great job with it!!

Jolie - Yes, I will definitely do kickboxing again, I'm just waiting for my tricep to feel better, it is really messed up. I can't even imagine what I did to it for it to be like this after rolling it with a ball. Yikes! But yes, I will do kickboxing again. No more heavy lifting, though. I'm even thinking about getting rid of my dummbells that are over 25#. I just won't use them anymore. Great job with your workout yesterday!!

Today I went outside and did a short 2 mile walk, I didn't wear my FB because I forgot to charge it and it was dead when it was time to leave. It is so beautiful outside lately, Spring has sprung! I have an appointment early this morning for my Insurance license renewal so I just do not have the time for anything more.

Debbie, I had a crappy workout this morning too! oh well, that's the way it goes. :) I am not using any of my heavy DB's either but I keep them for my boys, though they lift way heavier than 40# DB's. My son benches 100's and curls with 50's LOL!!!

Belinda, nice workout today. Are you getting warmer weather now like the rest of the country?

Debbie - sorry you had a crappy workout this morning. I like her step workouts. Her name is actually Christina Dorner. A lot of people call her Chris. https://www.cdornerfitness.com . Her talking to people doesn't border me. I think she is taking a break, lol. I don't think those people that are typing are doing her workout live. I just ignore all that talking.

Jolie - well, it was suppose to get into the 50's today. It's very windy which feels cold outside. At least the sun is out. Sorry you had a crappy workout this morning too.

I was up feeling fluish I got my second vaccine (because I work in the senior home) but woke up better arm hurts pretty bad but small price to pay
 
This morning I did RAW Hi Low: Step and had a really great workout. This one was lots of fun but my knees sure did feel it. I should have modified a bit, but tried to do it as is. I think all this step work I have been doing is catching up to me. I can't win, I swear. Anyways, I really liked this owrkout and really worked up a sweat.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 261 caloriesm did 3895 steps and HR was 124/164 - not bad!

I think my boss is mad at more because I'm not getting the vaccine. We have ours scheduled for Friday for teachers and all in our facility to get. He asked me yesterday if I signed up yet and I told him no. He asked if I was planning on getting it and I said no. He said he sent out all the information about how safe it is and if I wanted the documentation again that he'd send it to me. I said no thanks. I told him I've never had the flu shot and don't want this vaccine either. He just seems weird towards me now, maybe it's just my imagnination. There are several people in our facility that aren't getting the shot so why he seems so irritated with me is sort of weird. It's my body, if I don't want to put foreign things in it, I won't. I've read too much about it and am not satisfied with what I am hearing. So that is that...

Belinda - Good job with your workout. How have you been feeling lately? Are you doing better with all the stuff that has hit you recently?

Diane - Hope you are ok, didn't see a post from you yesterday. You are probably busy with all you have going on.

Roselyn - Hope you feel better today. My mom had her second shot and she felt fine but said her arm hurt quite a bit. She is better now. Good job on your workout!

Jolie - Yea, I guess we just weren't feeling it yesterday. We aloud off days I suppose. Today was better and I know it will be better for you. Glad you are getting better weather. It warmed up to 40 here so that is a heat wave for us. Looking foward to spring.

Debbie, I am with you on the vaccine. The more I read about it, the more it scares me. There are so many unknowns, IMO! Especially with my autoimmune diseases. Thanks for asking! The meds I am on seems to work. Hadn't released (knock on wood). The meds depresses my immune system. My Rheumtologist wants me to stay on that medicine for a year. I have to get every 3 month blood test to make sure my liver is ok. Just got a call from my doctors office, my vitamin D is very low. Other than feeling sluggish I am ok. How about you? Great job this morning.

Quick check in and update. I have been so busy. We have a buyer and they came last night at 8 and stayed an hour looking at the house again after they signed contracts. Inspection is set for Friday here and Tuesday for the house we are purchasing. I went to ladies game day yesterday. It was our belated valentines gathering because of the bad weather. I had to cancel my heart appointment for Friday. We close March. Anyway, no workout yesterday, I had to come home and get through a day's worth of school work. This morning I did CDorner #154 Non Stop Cardio Mash Up, this is low impact and uses light weights for part of it. I started with 1# for some punching moves and switched to 3# for other moves as she does things like lateral raises while moving her feet. This was fast paced and my Fitbit did not start picking up heart rate fight till 20 minutes in. Mostly it was under a hundred. When the got done she says she got 310 for 30 minutes of work and someone else said they got 338 calories.!! I got107 calories, heart rate 104/149. 2.146 steps. Anyway, it was fun and I was sweating.
I then did Raw Strength #1 , 35 minutes(31 actual), 104 calories, 1,166 steps, heart rate 107/157. (better than the cardio because I was warmed up I guess). This was basic heavier weights 12 reps. Total time was 66 minutes, 3,312 steps, 211 calories.

Today I went outside, because it is so beautiful, and walked 3 miles up hill and down hill, it is a loop in my community and burned 609 calories in 58 minutes. When I was walking uphill it was so steep I could not talk at all. I went with my friend that is the running trainer and I swear we could not say a thing to each other for about 1. 5 miles :) Wow, I bet I will sleep tonight, fresh air and exercise. Heart rate was 150 average and max was 181!!!

Debbie, I will NOT get the vaccine either, there are terrible side effects that the media is not disclosing. If you are in the age group or are around seniors like Roselyn is for work, I would not get it. Oh yes, the teachers Unions are pushing for everyone to get it so that may be the issue with your boss. Good luck with the issue and stay strong. Great workout today. My knee feel the incline walks too, it is just age I suppose. I have a kink in my neck from sleeping weird and it runs down my arm. I hate when this happens... I rolled over and pulled my heavy blanket, which was caught on my husband and it pulled my arm weird and now it hurts. I swear, it is always something!!!

Diane Sue, yeah on selling your house!!!! Mine took forever a few years ago and now they go so fast. Be careful packing and moving, I always hurt myself because I lift things that are too heavy and I wont wait for someone to help me. Nice job on the workout, I have never heard of that trainer.

Belinda, nice Barr workout today. I am going to read up on this pah lab fitness that you posted and see what it is all about. Thanks for sharing.

Jolie - you are welcome! Once you read it, please let me know what you think. I stepped on the scale this morning. I saw a the # slightly going down. Not much, it's a start. Haven't seen that # moving in a long time. Maybe all I needed to slow down and not overdue it. I am hitting all my calories too, which I never do. I never eat all my calories I am suppose to. We shall see! Be careful with walking up/down hills with your knees. Mine can't handle hills at all these day's. Great job!

I have to get to bed. I have just been so foggy all day and exhausted. You all are doing great on your workouts. I figure the weekend is going to have to be lots of packing, except I need more boxes. My husband has to work all weekend and I have a short family gathering to have cake and celebrate his upcoming birthday planned Sunday afternoon. I am not doing the brunch because he needs to sleep.

I need more proof that the vaccine is safe. I have read that people with auto immune diseases are more at risk of problems if they get the vaccine. I would do it if I worked with elderly people as I would feel awful if I caused something bad to happen. My daughter got it because she has lots of elderly patients. I just read here and there conflicting info and not everything is out in the open. Odd that things that have been used for years like hydroxychloraquine were said to be so bad by the left and even the vaccine was not taken seriously till Biden was in office and then they are pushing it like crazy. I even wonder if they really got it themselves or it was saline or something. That is how much trust I have in it. For some reason I remember a relative that was all messed up many years ago because of the polio vaccine when it first came out. Funny they don't push everyone to get flu shots and people die from it too.

Roselyn - I would get the vaccine if I worked with elderly people/hospital if I wouldn't have 2 autoimmune disease going on. Glad your arm feel better.

I am late because I've been so busy at work this morning. I did CDorner's #121 Cardio Kickboxing & Tabata workout. Really fun, and although I was sweating, I wasn't drenched like she was. I don't seem to sweat much in the winter. My room is cool, though, so I'm sure that is why. She does a lot of squat thrusts so I just subbed something else in place and also when she does plank work, I did another ab exercise. It was a good mix of kickboxing, tabata drills and ab work. Fun stuff!! I took it easy with the punches but actually, she doesn't do a whole lot of punching moves. It was more leg work with kicking.

Workout was 49 minutes (45 actually), burned 283 calories, did 4279 steps and HR was 114/161.

No time for personals, but totally agree about what has been said about the vaccine. I don't trust anything about it.
