Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2021

I am going to post while I have a chance. Someone wants to look at the house this afternoon. I am so tired and this has been happening almost every day. I need a trip to Sprouts for berries and yogurt. Tomorrow my dog has her vet appointment. I am betting I get another looker. Someone just needs to buy our house so I can get past this phase.
Anyway I did Cathe Live #217 Cardio, Glutes, and Core Express, 137 calories, heart rate 106/145, 41 minutes, 2,331 steps. I know this should have been better than that. When I tightened my watch during the next workout my heart rate was higher. Second workout was Kelly Cardio Quick Fix workout #1 26 minutes, 120 calories, heart rate 112/166, 2,719 steps. I keep getting 5 hours of sleep and am dragging. I spent some time yesterday reseaching for accurate fitness trainer watches. It appears if you want accuracy, you get better, more accurate readings with a strap. I looked at a Polar recommendation and they sell that one with a bluetooth strap to use for workouts that the watch does not pick up with as much accuracy. Way too expensive at over 500 dollars and reviews were lower than Garmin Vivoactive 4S and Samsung 3. So, I don't know how much with reading that a new watch will benefit. Fitbit Versa 3 is one of the supposedly best!! What do they do pay the reviewers? I make sure I do not read reviews that would be biased and are ads. They all have complaints on accuracy. They cite the perks more than anything else. Also I had a Polar Strap with the bluetooth monitor on it that sent to the app and it still dropped out and give me crazy high readings. At first I really liked it, but like everything else it goes wacko after a couple of weeks.

Hi,

Today I did 10 min Yoga + SBF Interval + CL # 333. Very fun workout. Lots of core work in this one. Cathe showed modifications for the higher impact too. Loved it. Will definitely do this one again. I enjoy CL more than I ever thought I would. Love her workouts.

Debbie - I will check out the video. Wonder if it's causing your pain? I did had a great workout this morning. Glad you did too. I can post the link if you want me too. What they are short 10 min stretching/yoga. I will very good afterwards. After I am done with the 30 Day Challenge I will do longer once. What is Color Street?

Diane - keeping my fingers someone will buy your house soon. You have a lot on your plate lately. Great job this morning.

Great job everyone else!

That's it for me today. Have a great day and workout.

Ok I think I'm on to something. I am sitting at my desk at work and happen to have a hard rubber ball. I placed it on my desk and then rolled my triceps over it. OMG!! It hurt so bad I just can't believe it. When I move around throughout the day, my triceps do not hurt at all, they just feel tight. Well, I'm wondering now if this is the cause of all my upper back pain. My right arm is the same with pain except not as bad and my right elbow hurts all the time.

I did some of the things the guy shows in the video I posted this morning and wow, I could definitly feel the pain sensors travel to the back of my shoulder blade. Amazing.

Diane, please watch that video and try it, this might be our problem. I will do it a bit more tonight at home and then ice it.

I can't even explain how this felt as I was doing it, I cannot believe how bad it hurt and I don't even notice pain in my triceps in normal activity. So weird.

I had an AWESOME workout today!!! I started with a 60 minute walk on my TM uphill the entire time, 5.5 to 8.0 incline, 3.0 to 3.3 speed, traveled 3.2 miles and burned 604 calories. Next, I did Caroline Girvan's 20 minutes Biceps workout with Dumbbells and boy this was the hardest Bicep workout I have ever done. My muscles were screaming, in a good way. This workout is 40 seconds on and 20 seconds rest. She used 17# DB's and I used from 10# to 15#'s. I skipped the plank challenge at the end. I burned and additional 160 calories. Total workout time was 1 hour 20 minutes and I burned 764 calories.

Debbie, that is awesome that you are figuring out what the underlying issue is with your upper body!!! I have the same thing with my Triceps and elbow on the left arm, I use a roller on it and it feels so good.

Doreen, great step workout today. I used to have Amy Bento DVD's back in the day but could never get into them for what ever reason.

Diane, Good luck with the house showings, I know they are a pain but hopefully someone buys your house today!

Belinda, I hope you have a great workout today.

Roselyn, Have a great workout today.

BBL to read the other posts for the day.

Happy Thursday.

Debbie, thank you for sharing that video. It does make sense. The back of my triceps are a bit tender, but I have not had the pain from my elbow down to my wrist that I had before I started PT. My neck has been hurting all day. I watched his video of stop stretching your traps (had to read though as he was not speaking English in that one) I thought it was interesting as I am always reaching up and massaging that area or grabbing it between my fingers because it hurts. I can see that bending the arm forward all of the time would cause problems with the triceps. I wake up at night with my neck and arm hurting and I will find that I have my arm bent and it hurts to straighten it back down to my sides. I think the time I had my elbow hurt the worst was when P90X first came out and I was doing that along with kickboxing.

Belinda, nice work today. I looked at that one this morning, but since it appeared to be total body, I decided I would not do it yet. I need my neck and shoulder pain to let up. I am glad that you enjoyed that workout today. I don't know if it was because I was tired or what, but the Cardio, Glutes, and core seemed tough right off with using the stability ball and I thought she was never going to get done swinging the ball around and doing skis and jacks with arms going up and down. I was totally out of breath and looked at my Fitbit and it said 110. I am not sure if I liked sitting on the ball later and doing jacks with my feet. I may have done this before as the sitting on the ball jack I know I have done with Cathe before.

Jolie, your workout looks great today. You got a wonderful calorie burn in. The people canceled coming to look today. I have so many mixed feelings about the move.

Roselyn, nice work with Heather Robertson today.

Good morning,

CL# 208 2018 Glassboro Road Trip Upper Body & Core is done. I also did SBF D26. I will get a short stretch in a few minutes.

Debbie - glad you figured out what is causing your pain. I hope you feel 100% better soon.

Diane - that one did a lot of shoulder work. Personally I don't go super heavy on shoulders anymore. I liked the workout a lot. I have to look at the workout you did yesterday. I used my rebounder for the high impact workout, I also did some low impact modification on the floor. Great job yesterday.

Jolie - your workout looks amazing. I did had a great workout yesterday.

Roselyn - great job yesterday.

I will be back to catch up on personals.

Today I walked on my treadmill for 45 minutes and burned 271 calories. I jogged a bit to get my HR up. Felt good.

I used my rubber ball last night on both my triceps and they were both very tight and had knots in them. I can't believe it because I don't feel it day to day, I just feel a slight tightness. We'll see if working on this muscle helps my situation, I don't have my hopes up very high but we'll see. It is amazing how all these muscles interact with each other, though. My biceps are sore from doing the tennis ball presses he shows how to do and moving your arm up and down. I also iced them both before I went to bed. They are both really sore today.

Doreen - Glad you are enjoying the nail things, they are fun. I just placed a pretty big order with her. I used to love Amy Bento and have some of her workouts on DVD. She is tough.

Belinda - I searched for the workouts and found them, but thanks for offering to put them on here. I will try them next week. I want to try CL #333 too, but will have to wait a while. I'm hoping this tricep thing is the answer but I'm not getting my hopes up. Seems nothing has helped through all of this time with it. Fingers crossed! Color Street are acrylic nail strips you put on your nails and they last a good 10-14 days. I love them way more than usual nail polish because there is no mess or smell. Here is the link: https://www.colorstreet.com/melissafolk/products/all - you can Youtube instructions on how to put them on.

Jolie - Amazing workout yesterday!!! I really want to try those workouts when I get better, they look awesome. I'm hoping this is the answer but not completely sure yet. We will see as time goes on.

Diane - I don't remember him saying you shouldn't stretch your traps, I will still be stretching but sometimes I wonder if I've been over stretching? I'm trying to make things heal and maybe I'm making them worse? All I know is my triceps are killing me today after using the ball and doing the exercises. I'm hoping that's a good thing. LOL! We'll see, I will keep you updated. I really wish these videos would tell you how often to do these things. Once a week? 3 times a week? Every day? Oy. Sleeping doesn't seem to bother me at all. I purchased an angled pillow wedge and it has made a huge difference for me with my neck and shoulders. I still use a pillow, too, I bought one from the My Pillow guy. I love that pillow. You have to be careful, though, because a pillow that is too high is not good as your neck bends to a bad position while sleeping. I bought his standard smaller pillow and it works great.

Roselyn - Great workout. I want to check out the workouts Jolie is doing too, they look awesome.

Happy day everyone!!

I did a Yvette Bachman YT step and kickbox cardio workout this morning. One of her "tamer" ones. Did someone on here subscribe to her website and check it out once? Thoughts?

Today I had an amazing cardio workout because I slept 11.5 hours last night!!! Who does that, me!!! These workouts are kicking my butt in such a great way, it felts so great to get in extra sleep for once. The house was so quiet because my youngest son went out of town and my husband came home from work so late that it was "quiet as a mouse" and I loved it. My Biceps are so sore today I couldn't do my scheduled Chest workout, I wouldn't be able to lift the weights :) So I got on the TM, walked uphill for 75 minutes, traveled 4.3 miles, incline range was from 5.5 tp 8.0, speed range was from 3.0 to 3.3 and I burned 739 calories :) Heart rate was 138/173. I was dripping wet by the end of the workout. My glutes are going to be talking to me tomorrow.

I tried on some cloths from a few years back when I was much thinner, pre Menopause, and I can now get into them, they are tight but I am into them!!! So since this is working in terms of loosing weight and inches, I am going to continue until I reach a good weight. I am loving Caroline's workouts because they are so short and they really work the muscle well. This now gives me time to get in the cardio that I like to do and it is just a win win! I am hoping by my 55th Bday in June that I am where I want to be health wise and fitness wise.

Debbie, great walk today! I am so happy you are figuring out what is going on with your body. Isn't Youtube amazing! Think of all of the money we are saving not going to a specialist doctor that probably cant figure out what is wrong anyway. :) I am going to buy a My Pillow too for both my husband and myself. Can you believe that the LEFT is trying to destroy his business because he endorsed Trump!

Belinda, The Road Trip workout is one of my all time favorite workouts! Great job. Working Shoulders is my favorite body part to work, I like to go heavy if I can.

Diane Sue, Hopefully today you have no one looking at the house and you can get your shopping done and your workout in. Did you see how long I slept last nigh? Amazing... I wish you could get a great nights sleep, it does wonders for the energy levels.

Doreen, I was the one that signed up for Yvette's website but I cancelled it after one month. I do not really like her new workouts, they are too high impact for me and her website is really poorly done, it is hard to find a workout, and I cannot find her older workouts on the website. She took them done off Youtube so you think she would give her paying customers access to them but NOPE.

Roselyn, check out Caroline Girvan's workouts, you will love them. I have not done any of her cardio workouts, but I am sure they are awesome.

Happy Friday my friends. The weather is getting nicer so that is making me happy.

Today I did Cathe Lite Cardio Party with the extended stretch, 54 minutes, heart rate 96/140, 183 calories, 3,961 steps. I have been so busy this week that I have got 10,200 to over 13,000 steps in. That is unusual for me as it is usually anywhere from 5,000 to 8000. We had a house showing today and went out to look at two. One we really liked. I also took my dog for her routine shots and check. I think she was a bit worried about some stranger coming to the car and trying to get her to come out. She looked at me and stayed till I told her it was okay. The woman had to kind of coax her. I felt worried sending her in without me. Like sending your child into the doctor without you I guess. I see now Fitbit does health trends. I just wish it worked well. I expect that there will be more house viewers this weekend.

Debbie, I did massage my triceps with my therapy balls for a bit last night. Not to the point that it made me sore though. Somehow I don't think we are supposed to be sore after massaging something. I don't know on the stretching and stuff as PT had me in 3 times a week and gave me a list of exercises to do every day at home when I was not there. I need to watch the video again. For some reason I thought he said instead of stretching to massage the triceps. I could feel how it could affect those other muscle groups. I guess part of it is to pay attention to those muscle groups that are not the main used ones throughout the day so we do not have this happen. My PT person said not to have too large of a pillow. I bought a bit fuller My Pillow and took part of the contents out. Then later I put it back in. I squish it down in the middle so I have a roll under my neck. I switch up though as I use the McKinzie neck roll under my neck and my head on the edge of the my pillow a lot. Best when I stay on my back though. Otherwise I use the My Pillow Roll and go under my torso and lie on my side with my head on the My Pillow and no use the roll. I keep them all there. I also take the roll and go pillow in the car and put in mid back and it keeps me forward enough so my car seat does not make my head come forward. I told my husband I need two of those as that pillow goes on my bar stool, in my car, and to bed with me. I love how well those pillows launder. I just ordered my Dog a My Pillow dog bed. Getting rid of her Serta one. It is worn from her claws. I love the towels as well. Trying to support the guy since they are trying to cancel him.

Belinda, nice work today. You might like the workout I did yesterday. It ends with abs and more glute work like bridges with feet on the ball and abs with ball passes to feet. I may hold off on the other if it has shoulder intensive stuff. Cathe does that a lot with her workouts.

Doreen, I have only done Yvette Bachman workouts a few times. Even her milder ones are rather intense.
Jolie, wow on the sleep. I only wish. If I get a decent amount of sleep I handle things so much better and am not so anxious over things. I don't even have time for that though. I always feel some sort of anxiety about getting up and getting the things I really want to do like my reading and prayer time and then workout before my life might suddenly become hectic. I will be glad when it goes back to more relaxed. It makes me angry that they are hurting peoples businesses and lives because they do not have the same ideals and choose someone else. You can usually find deals on My Pillow by checking out some of the links he has on his website. We bought towels and liked them so much I went back and bought more.

This morning I rode my bike for 30 mintues while playing a virtual cycling ride through Germany - so pretty - wish I could ride those trails. Then I did 20 minutes of a Carolyn Girvan Back workout - Only twenty mintues of it and I was burnt out! I feel like my back has been somewhat neglected with the workouts I've been doing recently!

This morning I did Cathe Live #8 High Intensity Cardio Step, 213 calories, 46 minutes, heart rate 112/161, 4332 steps. I followed this with Cathe Perfect 30 strength and flexibility + Mobility basics express #2, heart rate 76/90, 38 calories, 129 steps. Total time 81 minutes, 248 calories, 4,367 steps.

No workout today. Packing a couple of things and cleaning this afternoon. Also doing some cooking, I baked spaghetti squash. I want to to try making chicken alfredo with the Primal Kitchen alfredo sauce and spaghetti squash. I need to make up Kelly's protein balls as my granddaughter finished them off Friday.

Debbie, I just watched that dvd again and he says not to stretch. He said to work on massage and lengthening exercises that he shows how to do.

Belinda, I hope that you found the car that you want. I do not like car shopping. I generally let my husband do it. Nice work yesterday.

Roselyn, nice work on the rebounder. Was that from Youtube?

Good morning,

Perfect 30 Upper body + SBF and stretch is done.

Diane - thank you! Would you please share those Protein Balls. They sound so good. DH and I do everything together even car shopping, lol. Thanks I will check out the workout you did Friday.

Jolie - I like the RT workout too. I own it too thanks to your recommendation last year. I wished back than I signed up for CL instead of buying all those downloads, lol. Congrats on losing weight.

Debbie - I hear you on being carful on triceps. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for the link. I will check it out. Although my nails are breaking lately, lol.

Have a great workout and Monday.

Feeling better but last night I rolled my triceps out again and they are sore today. So is the muscle that runs down the left side between my shoulder blade and spine. How weird that manipulating the triceps is causing sensations to my upper, middle back issues. I'm thinking that is a good thing. I am feeling more limber all around so I think this is helping out a lot. I will roll my tricpes out every 2 or 3 days and then start doing some of the exercises the weird Japanese guy does in that video. I don't want to do both at once right now, I am just trying to get the muscle to relax.

I walked on my treadmill this moring for almost 2 miles. 3.2 speed and 4% incline.

Jolie - I didn't know that about Yvette's website, I thought you still had the subscription. That is a bummer, I know how much you like her workout. She took them off of Youtube as well? That is just wrong. Great job with your workout on Friday. I'm sure you watched the Superbowl. Hope you had fun.

Diane - I am not stretching that much right now, just trying to work that triceps muscle out and get it relaxed. I need to watch that video again, not sure why we can't stretch the traps, etc. Maybe it is part of the cause? I know stretching hasn't really helped me at all so I'm good with not doing it for a while.

Belinda - Color Street is awesome but a bit pricey. I can't find any others that compare so I just keep purchasing them.

Have a great day everyone! Got a meeting to go to.

This morning I did EPIC II - Blazing cardio Hiit. This is just a metabolic workout with light weights... and perhaps one of the most fun ones of hers I've done. Light weights 30/15 timer.

Roselyn - I've notice 2lazy4thegym's blog has been reviewing a lot on Naomi's rebounder workouts - they do look good.

Jolie- Good to know about Yvette's website- I hadn't heard any follow up with it since she released it.

Debbie - I actually justify Color Street after taking my daughter and I to a salon for our nails before Christmas - $26/each plus a tip and mine didn't even last a week. I can get two manis out of one set of strips - so about $7 per. My last color street mani lasted 2 weeks and I only took it off to do the Valentine's Day strips. But this one is cracking (the other one didn't!) so I bought some gloves to use to do dishes and hope that helps prevent that. I think it makes my nails stronger too to have them painted.
