Hardcore Fitness Maniacs December 2024

This morning I did RAW Strength 1 - Cardio Acceleration and added a treadmill walk as well. I had a great workout. I really wanted to take this week as a rest week but dang, I am eating so much lately I just can't afford it. I will probably take a rest week after my Christmas break is over. I love working out when I don't have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn. So probably the week of Jan. 6 I will be taking the week off. I am burned out!!

12 reps each exercise for lifting/30 seconds for cardio bursts

One Arm Row: 30#
Cardio: Squat/Knee
Repeat

Squats: 20's
Cardio: Jogging
Repeat

Dumbbell Chest Press: 25's
Cardio: Pump Ups
Repeat

Supination Curls: 16's
Cardio: Alternating Insoles
Repeat

Deadlifts: 20's
Cardio: Jacks
Repeat

Lateral Raise: 10's
Cardio: Skaters
Repeat

Skull Crushers: 12's
Cardio: (Abs) Knee-ins on step
Repeat

Walked on the treadmill for .75 miles. Total workout time was 48 minutes, burned 303 calories, did 2926 steps and HR was 119/140.

Jolie - I am SO SORRY to hear you lost your fur baby. I know how hard this is and I don't blame you for not going. So sorry!!! Sending you some hugs. Wow on your family having the flu, now I'm wondering if that is what you had last week? I think the timeline for the flu is 2 weeks, so maybe you did have it and it wasn't food poisoning? Anyways, I sure hope they get better soon. How awful!

Belinda - Prayers are out for your sister. I'm so sorry to hear this terrible news. Hugs to you. Wow, I can certainly see why you are having such pains in your shoulder and biceps. I hope the shot helps. So sorry you are going through all of this!!

Diane - Glad you had a great Christmas with your family! I know about eating what we usually don't. I've been going to lunch with friends for Christmas and paying for it. Going again today. Yikes!!! Great job keeping up with your workouts! The new workouts look pretty good. I haven't watched them all yet, though.

Have a great day everyone!! Things will get better, you'll see. 2025 will be an awesome year for all of us!!!

Get this! My husband is home with another type of stomach flu and now I think I am getting it! Chills, nausea, and upset stomach. Wow, this holiday is one for the books for my family. Since my husband is sick I had to walk the pup for him instead of getting in a weight workout. I think I am just going to focus on moving till the beginning of the year and then come up with a plan for lifting weights. I am so burnt out on all my workouts lately, I have zero motivation to lift! This is so not like me but I have hit a wall, probably all of the stress has caught up with me. I did take the pup for a 1 hour walk, traveled 3.2 miles and it was great to get some fresh air in the lungs.

Debbie, great job on the workout. I feel burnt out too! We should take some time for ourselves and then get back at it in early January. Just so I get some good steps in, I am ok with not working out. However, I am losing muscle and need to really focus on that this coming year.

Diane Sue, way to go on already celebrating Christmas! That must take a lot of stress off you, now you can just enjoy the holidays. Nice job on the workout. I need to come up with something new to do, I am so burnt out on all of my workouts.

Belinda, prayers for your younger sister! My BIL just went through colon cancer, and it was not too bad since they are able to go in and remove part of the colon and remove the cancer.

Roselyn, nice job on the workout.

Have a great day everyone.

Evening,

been on the phone with my sisters in Germany through out the day. Tomorrow they doing a CT to see if the cancer speed through out her body. Praying it’s not. I am so worried about my sister. I hope it’s something they can operate like Jolie mentioned.

Debbie - thank you about my sister. Yes, it makes so much sense why I am in so much pain since April. I still have quite some pain. I guess it will take some time for the inflammation to go down.

Diane - thank you about the doors. DH and I love how the doors came out. The RV is a house on wheels, things gonna shift and go out. We got an extra day in TN. Unfortunately we had to drive into winter wonder land, which wasn’t fun. I had the same conversation with my sisters husband about how meds helps the quality of life, lol. He is in the hospital for a rare autoimmune disease, he couldn’t tolerate the meds they gave him for his disease. He said they made him so sick. All those things are suppose to help, but poison your body. I think, I will wear comply shoes to the wedding, my burning feet couldn’t handle high heels. When I still wore high heels I always ended up taking them off, lol. I got rid of all my high heels shoes. Thank you! I am glad I don’t have a rotator cuff tear too. I hope the shot helps my shoulder soon. I am so sick of my shoulder hurting like this, I can’t lift my arm overhead/behind my back or lateral moves. Thank you for your prayers about my burning feet. I hope it’s not diabetes. Glad you had fun with your family. One day will not hurt you eating all that food. Thanks about the info on Cathe’s new workout. I decided to bring bands and continue with JS. I know if I go back to Cathe I will pick up heavy weights. I need to get my shoulder back to normal.

Jolie - thank you for the prayers. I am sorry your BIL went through this. I hope they can do the same for my sister.

Deanna - thank you for the prayers for my sister and me.

Roselyn - thank you about the doors. We love it.

Good night,

Today I did CDorner Cardio 31 minutes, 163 calories, 3,484 steps, heart rate 133/153. I then did Lift Move Restore Upper Body skipping and adjusting some moves, 44 minutes, 135 calories, heart rate 102/139. Total time 75 minutes, 298 calories. I also did some back pod and extra stretching. Then my husband and I went for a bike ride. I was struggling to get up some of the hills after a while. FInally stopped and my husband messed with it and turned it on. Much better for the hills I was starting to think it was going to be tough getting back to our truck. It was nice outside and, in the 60's. This was probably our only ride till spring. It will be cold tomorrow.

Belinda, prayers for your sister. I hope that they have caught the cancer early. Yes, there is a lot of poison in some of those meds. I think that is partly why a friend of ours and my daughter's mother in law passed away because of med she was taking. Her organs just gave out. I just get tired of hearing about the quality of life. Meds have drawbacks on just feeling normal and good. I could not put on those heels now. Because of my feet, now all of my shoes and slippers come from Orthofeet. Thy give me plenty of toe room and have adjustments that you can do to get a good fit. My last pair was sort of a sandal with athletic bottom but had patent trim and straps. They work nice with a midi dress or my satin skirt.

Debbie, great job on Raw Strength 1 cardio acceleration. We go out to eat at least one day a week. I am pretty good at not picking bad food, but lately I am just getting sick of salmon and broccoli. I have gotten hamburgers and mashed potatoes then my husband insists on by fried mozzarella sticks. Not hurting my weight, but not healthy. Food was left here after Christmas, but I have dumped a lot to keep from eating it all. I had an extra helping of stuffing. We need our feet.

Jolie, you probably need to relax and get some rest. You have been through a lot. I am sorry another flu like bug seems to be hanging around in your family.

Roselyn, nice work on Gym Style Back and Biceps.

This morning I did RAW Box & Pump 3, and I had a great workout. This workout is so fun, I haven't done it since Oct. of 2023! Glad I did it today, I enjoyed it.

Belinda - They can do a lot with colon cancer now. I am praying hard for your sister!!

Diane - Nice workout yesterday! Isn't the bike you have electric? Sounds like a fun day riding your bikes! I havent's been on a bike that wasn't a motorcycle in years. Roselyn - Good job with your workouts!!

Have a great day everyone!

Evening,

No workout to report today, I had to clean and pack my suitcase. I didn’t sleep well last night. We are staying at DD’s condo in DC. Flying out early tomorrow morning. Looking forward to warmer weather.

The cancer didn’t spread. We are all so happy for the good news. They ran a lot of tests today. Tomorrow the cancer team in the hospital will let my sister now when they are getting the tumor out of her colon. I feel so much better today knowing the cancer didn’t spread.

Diane - thank you! The tumor in her colon is huge, they have to take it out. My sister and my family are so relieved the cancer didn’t spread through out her body. Colon cancer runs in my family. Sorry about your friends organs went out and passed away. We always hope we doing the right thing with all those meds that get’s thrown at us. Yes, meds have throwbacks. I have to look into those shoes you mention. I am always looking for comfy shoes.

Roselyn - thank you for the prayers for my sister.

Debbie - I hope they can do a lot with colon cancer. Here in the US it’s different than in Germany. My sister is happy with the treatment she got at the German hospital. Their bedside manner defently changed from what I am used too. I am very happy the medical professionals are more like you would see here in the US. They were not always like that. I am glad they changed. Sounds like they taking good care of my sister.

I am beat today. Good night. I hope I get a workout in tomorrow.

Roselyn, nice work on your 10 minute hiit and shoulder workout today.

Debbie, great job on Box and Pump 3 today. Yes, my bike is an electric bike. You have to turn it on so it runs. I couldn't remember which buttons started it and so my husband pushed something thinking he started it. I kept pedaling hard to go fast as my husband was riding his with the motor on. He likes going fast! I would see a hill coming up and start pedaling fast before I got there, and boy was it work on the climbs. We were way far from where we left the truck, and I was thinking no way was my legs going to keep up going back. Usually, the more I pedal the more it picks up speed. I think it can go to 23 mph and I have only gone 15 riding our neighborhood. My husband's bike like the first he purchased for me goes to 46 mph. He said he had someone pull up beside him saying he thought it was a motorcycle till he saw the pedals. I need to read the manual on my bike again. It did not have a lot of info though. Anyway, I stopped, and he got the motor working. It is hard to get rid of those extra goodies. My granddaughter and daughter in law brought of boxes of candy that they got at work, trying to get rid of the candy.

Belinda, have a nice trip and enjoy the nice weather. I am so glad the tumor is contained where they can remove it. I hope it all goes well for her.

This morning I walked on my treadmill. Ididn't feel like doing any impact workouts and I've done 2 boxing workouts already this week. Actually, 3. So just walked and then did a nice stretch.

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 278 calories, went 1.5 miles, did 3555 steps and HR was 152/186. My HR seemed really high again today although it didn't feel like it. I'm wondering if my Garmin isn't reading correctly anymore?

I also did RAW Stretch. I really like this one a lot but the music is too loud and not my favorite. But I can overlook that because the stretching is so good.

Diane - Great workouts yesteday, wow on that leg workout!! That was a long one! And holy cow on your bike ride!! Does that bike hurt your knees. Glad your husband was able to turn it on for you finally! I bet that was a great workout.

Belinda - Safe travels!!

Have a wonderful day everyone! I decorated my door at work and won 1st place! I attached it.

I woke up feeling great today and so did my husband. Since he is better, I had him walk the pup and I got in the gym for a good weight workout. I did CL #10 Upper Body Sculpting and had a great workout though I did not lift my usual weights. However, since taking time off I am strong from the break, but I did not want to push it. Yes, we get sick often this time of the year because both my son and my husband come in contact with a lot of people with their jobs and I guess that is how it spreads through the house. I have not been sick since last year at this time and here we go again. Anyway, I am feeling great and now have it behind me for the time being. Yesterday, I forgot to get on and post but I did get a 4 mile walk in with the pup and some of it was through the hills. It was 80 degrees here yesterday so the trail overlooking the ocean had a spectacular view and I was wearing shorts and a tank top! I love Christmas time in southern CA, it is usually warm and dry weather. Next week is supposed to be cooler and cloudy but in the 60's.

Great job on the workouts yesterday everyone! I want to get on my TM more and start back to walking inclines for the wintertime. I really find it to firm up my legs and it's a great cardio workout too!

Debbie, I love how you decorated your door, I just love Snoopy! I have a stuffed animal of him from when I was a child, and I just adore him.

Belinda, thank goodness the cancer has not spread!!! Praying for her!

Have a great day. Who is ready for Christmas? We are keeping it very simple this year and I could not be happier. No guests and no parties or get togethers to go to since the flu is ramped right now. I will get together with my parents after the holiday to celebrate with them, I do not want to get the sick!

Evening, we are in Cape Coral. Beautiful weather and beautiful beaches. We have to stay one night at a hotel, the house we rented isn’t ready until tomorrow. We had screaming 2 little ones on the first plane. The parents didn’t care if they screamed the entire flight. I don’t get it? Our second flight from Atlanta to Florida was a great. I got in a lot of steps. I am so tired.

I will be feeling better tomorrow morning. I promise I will catch up on personals.

Today I did CDorner cardio aerobics hi or low, 41 minutes, 217 calories, heart rate 133/166, 5,043 steps. I then did LMR Core Fusion 33 minutes, 94 calories, heart rate 89/125. This is all done with a stability ball. I finished with LMR Pilates mix #1 foam rolling 22 minutes, 39 calories, heart rate 82/102. Total time was 96 minutes, 350 calories, 5,581 steps.

Debbie, nice work on the treadmill walk today. I noticed that you did a lot of boxing this week with the box and pump and other boxing workouts. Good idea to take a break today. I like the music in the Raw athletic stretch 2 (I think that is the one) It is a bit longer than some of them. I love your door decoration. my daughter in law loves snoopy and Charlie Brown. She gave me a Charlie Brown Christmas tree and this year my husband set it up in an alcove we have with figurines around it. She said they had a lot of Charlie Brown stuff when they visited Japan on vacation.

Jolie, that is great that you are feeling much better and your husband feels better. Great job on CL #10 Upper Body Sculpting.

Roselyn, nice work on the kickboxing today.

Belinda, get some rest and have lots of fun. Flying with screaming children would be unpleasant. Parents should be ashamed of themselves for not teaching their children to behave.

This morning I did RAW Lift w/CardioAcceleration #4 and had a great workout. This one was fun except the squat thrusters, I ended up just doing squat pulse pops.

I used my step with 2 risers and each exercise was 45 seconds on/15 seconds off. This is a 30 minute workout.

Circuit 1
Gorilla Row: 20's/25's
Reverse Lunges: 15's
Triple Inner Thigh/Squats
Repeat

Circuit 2
Lateral Raise/Front Raise: 8's
Side Lunges: 8's
2 Knee/Jacks
Repeat

Circuit 3
Overhead Triceps Extension: 15#
Left/Right Goblet Squats: 15#/20#
Squat Thrusts off Step (squat pulse pops)
Repeat

Circuit 4
Supinated Hammer Curls: 15's
Kickstand Deadlifts: 15's
2 Low Jack/2 Rear Kicks
Repeat

Then I did RAW Box &Tone using my 1.5# egg weights. This is a great compliment add-on to the first workout I did, loved it.

Workout was 50 minutes total, burned 359 calories, did 22271 steps and HR was 128/155.

Jolie - Yea, I guess when you are around a lot of people, sickness happens. I seem to get something every February when I'm around all those kids for Solo & Ensemble. I get something every year and I sure hope I don't this year!! Hopefully everyone is on the mend!!

Roselyn - Great job with your kickbox workout. You don't do those often, do you?

Belinda - Glad you got to your destination safely! Have a great time!

Diane - Great job with your workout! Thanks about my door, it was fun to do. I drew the Snoopy and Woodstock, although how hard is that? Those are the easiest characters to draw. LOL! Yea, I did boxing again today, too. I really need to watch out for that. I'm good for a while and then all of a sudden I get those knots really bad.

Have a great weekend everyone! This is my last day and I have the next two weeks off! Woo Hoo! So looking forward to the time off.

Today I did CDorner Step #439 non fast advanced(meaning slower with choreography) 51 minutes, 229 calories, heart rate 122/147, 4,727 steps. I also did LMR yoga skipping the balance and stopping at superman because of time restraints, 31 minutes, 46 calories. Total time 82 minutes, 275 calories.
I did a little bit of back pod. I am feeling pretty good in that area. I think the balance work and stuff up on my toes is causing tightness in my right calf(happens often) and my right heel hurts) The yoga helped with that as well as me massaging it out. I am still real cautious about doing things that work chest a lot. I am getting a little even in the yoga and pilates. I was reading the booklet that came with my back pod and it does say to be cautious with osteo arthritis and osteopenia. So, I switched back to using the suggested pillow and I pot a towel over it to soften it a bit. They have different health conditions information for using it. Even for asthma and doing breathing exercises.

Debbie, nice workout with the Lift with Cardio Acceleration #4 and box and tone add on. I am sure you are looking forward to the break from work. Being around children makes it hard to avoid those viruses. I did home daycare for years and dealt with a lot of drippy noses. I still pick up things and wonder how since I shop from home and am not out often other than to go out to eat once a week. Family and church though.
I take oregano oil drops from Garden of Life when things are going around. It is antiviral and antibacterial.
