Getting turned off

Can you say PETTY!!!!!! Dear golly, with all that is going on in the world, this is what you're focusing on? Seriously. Oh, to have such a simple life that this is even worth noting, let alone commenting on in this way. Honestly - take that energy and direct toward something that matters. It's a freakin' stamp - get over it!!
(ps - I think they're cute) and once I get my fat-ass back in shape, I'll be getting the mug, too.

I can't believe this thread is still going! I ordered some Cathe stamps yesterday, and I told my husband that as soon as Cathe posters are available I'm going to hang one in the basement (where I work out) for inspiration. His response: "Of course you are!"

I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but if you are familiar with Zazzle.com, you know they offer stamps in EVERY variety. You can get stamps with any image you can possibly imagine. For example, they have 20 varieties of ewok stamps (very cute by the way).

I actually found out about Zazzle a few years ago because I fell in love with a stamp on a package I received. It's a genius marketing strategy. Plus they offer 15 different items made from the image you submit...t-shirts, mugs, etc., et al. You can get a t-shirt with an image of your tabby preparing to pounce on your sleeping husband if you want.

My point is...I doubt that Cathe set out to find a company that would immortalize her biceps on a postage stamp. Instead, she has partnered with an up and coming online company that has made its niche in the market by pairing the images we love with the items we use on a daily basis...who just happens to offer stamps (in 974,478 varieties).

They also have 998 varieties of ice cream postage...including several mint chocolate chip stamps (SIGH). I think I'll alternate between the ice cream and Cathe, as it is the reason I need Cathe. Oh...and the ewoks. Gotta have those.

Cathe Dazzle Store

Jonezie, We think Dazzle is a pretty neat concept too. We've already uploaded a few Cathe coffee mugs and one poster to the Cathe Zazzle Store today to get things started. Over the next several weeks we will add hundreds of items including posters of many of our best pictures you've seen featured in our calendars and on our website. The posters can be purchased in sizes from 11 in. x 16 in. all the way up to 6 1/2 feet. This is something a lot of people have requested in the past, but before Dazzle it just wasn't feasible to do.

The idea that Cathe putting her image on a postage stamp is an indication of an over inflated ego is just plain wrong. Putting an image of Cathe on a postage stamp is no different than putting it on a t-shirt or a coffee mug nowadays. Custom stamps have been available for years and are done with the blessing and permission of the post office. This is actually a great money maker for them. I would not be surprised that within a few years if custom stamps become as popular as the standard stamps that have always been sold. As you already know, a lot of companies are selling custom stamps nowadays and this trend will continue to grow.

I'm sure a lot of people are not familiar with Dazzle, but I think most will really like it once they try it. We have some pretty cool things planned for the Cathe Zazzle Store - so keep checking back!

And here I am, sitting in front of the computer w/ my debit card:eek: Hmmmm....... Back away, Nan. Stand up, and slowly back away.......

Nan:p

ETA: Heck.....it also comes in giant size w/ pink innards. I'm doomed!!!

Any chance of offering T's (short and long sleeve) in performance fabric?

Zazzle has Performance Micro-Fiber shirts in long sleeve, short sleeve, and sleeveless styles. You can choose your style even if it's not pictured by the seller.

ETA: Having said that it doesn't look like they've set up any shirts yet on the Cathe Zazzle site but they could eventually do that if they wanted.

Thanks, Lainie!
(Or maybe not: as now I have the distinct urge to start browsing Zazzle! :D)

You know you can't come to this forum without being shopping-enabled! :p I was just browsing over there and realized I could make a Fit Fig beer stein. It doesn't seem like a very apt choice for a Cathe product, though! She may be of German stock but you don't get her figure guzzling beer.

I hate to say this but I'm starting to get turned off to Cathe due to all this commercial stuff. Now there are Cathe postage stamps. Come on! I used the Firm years ago and stopped when they went so commercial. I hope I don't feel the same with Cathe. I don't who could replace her serious no nonsense cross training workouts.

I understand that there are people who want these things and if they sell they are certainly entitled to them - it's just a turn off to me. Just my opinion.

I agree that the postage stamps are a turn off. I find them a little silly.

You know what is great, is the fact that people who disagree and have differing opinions can share their opinions(hopefully in a tactful way). We are a diverse group of people who post here. We are not going to agree on everything. Some of us love having Cathe memorabilia, others only want the workouts. If you don't like the idea, don't buy it, but don't put down those may may like.

Just because Cathe decides to try new marketing strategies doesn't take away from her workouts. She still puts out killer workouts. As for the products coming out, I guess I will be starting my Christmas list.

I don't have an issue with the postage stamps or the mugs or anything Cathe wants to sell in and of themselves. I remember when Cathe started selling t-shirts and such a number of years back, and I didn't think twice about her decision to do that. In fact, I have a couple of t-shirts.

That being said, I did kind of shake my head when the blog on stamps was posted. Again, it has nothing to do with the actual stamps. But my reaction has more to do with my perception (let me emphasize that in capital letters--MY PERCEPTION!) of the focus of SNM because, being brutally (but hopefully tactfully) honest, I don't feel that 100% focus was put into the last DVD series. Because I am a SNM/Cathe workout DVD user first and a purchaser of other products second (and if SNM puts a 15oz mug in their store....I'll be buying it), I'm disappointed that I feel the Shock Cardio workouts were kind of rushed and weren't of the same quality (particularly in terms of premixes which have, in the past, made Cathe's workouts the most versatile workouts on the market) as Cathe's other workouts.

The stamps, obviously, have nothing to do with Shock Cardio!! But that doesn't stop me from wondering if the focus of the company isn't changing a bit with each new announcement of non-DVD products/projects. At the end of the day, though, SNM/Cathe can sell moon rocks for all I care......as long as she continues to put out quality workout DVDs. She topped the market in that area for so long, and I'd like to see her top it out again with her next series.

Yes it is great we all have different opinions. I haven't read a post in this thread where someone was putting another person down for liking Cathe memorabilia. And yes, no one should put anyone down whether you like something or not. I've read many threads on the forums where as soon as someone said they didn't like something, they were attacked for not liking it. I mean really, we are all different. If you like something, fine. If you don't, that's fine too.

What's wrong with silly? I think we could all use a little silly in our lives. :D

Amen to that sista!! I don't want Cathe postage stamps but I could concieve of others wanting them. People have requested all kinds of Cathe memoriabilia (did I spell that right?) around here. Now that's she's doing it she is being criticized. I am not referring to any one particular post at all just the overall tone of it. People certainly have a right to voice their opinion. This is just mine ;)

Just for fun I think I'll go write a post on my blog promoting my own stamps. I've never made money on that stupid blog so I'm ready to go commercial. :p
