Getting Our Licks In!

Tonight was STS Step Moves. The last 10 min. were like fast steps. I tried and kept going the 44 min.

Michelle
, So sorry about the continued snow your way. It will be soon and better weather will head your way. I'm glad you got the yard treated, it will be nice to see it grow in the Spring. Something to look forward to. I think it's always good to be positive.

Kathy Sis
, Hopefully the snow will be a thing of the past soon. Great job on Sat. for 2 workouts, Total Body Cardio and Pilates. And for Sun. Upper. Hope you enjoyed your brunch with a friend. It's always nice to do that. Sounds like you have a hold on the eating thing. Good for you.

Take care,

Janie

Last night was Lower Fix + 10 Min. Abs Fix. My abs were on FIRE!!! I just couldn't make it for the bonus round. I thought Autumn lost her mind. LOL

Tonight will be Pilates (yes ABS AGAIN!) + Total Body Cardio. My bad arm is killing me today. The weather is so cold here I believe my body is rebelling. Its saying "Where's spring?" If I never see snow again it won't be too soon.

Janie Sis: How did you ever get the choreo to Step Moves? For the life of me I can't seem to do this one. Great job. How's the piano & guitar coming along? Are you enjoying it?

Take care everyone,
Kathy

I've been reading up on you ladies and have started a few posts to get distracted and pulled away. Things have been busy and I've stayed active and have realized I need to clean up my eating (too much sugar) along with bring in my snacking. One step at a time! The family has been sick a lot and I'm on day two at home with Lucas - fingers crossed this is the last of the colds. Weather feels very spring here and cold temps aren't coming our way for at least a week, it will be sad to see all the snow melt.

I did the Pilates & Wine on Friday with my wine club and I loved the instructor and the class, I'm going to try to take a class at least twice a month if I can get permission to leave work an hour early on Fridays. It was also nice to see that my core is strong, I was able to handle much more than my friends so all the work I do has results even if it isn't weight coming off :) And I still have my friends, they were troopers doing the Pilates with me.

Kathy - I hope your abs get a break after tonight! I'll try to blow some warm weather your way :)

Michelle - Spring is coming, I just know it! The good thing is shoveling can be a good exercise. I think lawn treatment and snow are a perfect mix, it seems to really get the goodies to the grass.

Janie - What a great story for your grandsons wisdom teeth removal - I enjoyed the giggle :)

Renee - That's an awesome amount raised, great job! How exciting to have a group to do STEP with.

Laura - I'm sending hugs to you, so glad the exercise is keeping you sane through all of this and there is an end to this nightmare! You are so strong, wish you were close for some Pilates and wine :)

Cindy

Shoveling snow yesterday; Shiva Rea yoga today. And snow is on its way to a meltdown. Gotta love living south of the Mason-Dixon line. Snow one day; gone the next. Well, not quite gone, but well on its way. I'm going to put the shovel away again tomorrow. This has got to be the end of it. One more day of active recovery and then I start STS meso 3. Mentally gearing up for it. I think that I'll mix in the cardio from Cathe's March rotation.

Cindy: I've got a colleague at work with young children (9 months and 3 years old). Seems like she is always dealing with one or both of them being sick. Right now they both have the croup. Pilates and Wine sounds like a good combination.

Janie: great job on Step Moves. It's one of my favorites.

Kathy: so I ordered 21 day fix. Don't know when I'll get it, but really? Two workouts in one day? Oh boy--well, I guess it will help me get ready for the roadtrip.

Michelle

Kinda feeling I might get sick, but did my all on the workout anyways. Intensity Series: Premix HiiT Low Bootcamp. This was so good for me!It's the type of workout you can give it your all or not. Of course I gave it my all.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Lower Fix and abs fix and for your 2nd workout tonight. I asked a band person to help me take piano and guitar lessons and I would do an art piece or two for him. Haven't heard back from him yet. I hope he likes my work enough to say yes. It helps me learn the choriography when I watch it the night before and then try to listen her intently what she asks of us to do. It doesn't always go as planned. LOL:rolleyes:

Cindy, I understand the pulling away. So glad you made it back to this group. Struggling with food is such a challenge. Seems the Winter months take a toll on kids being sick. Hope things calm down soon for you. We didn't have any snow last year or snow this year. I bet next Winter we will. It works out like that sometimes.

Michelle
, Great job on snowmax and Siva Rea yoga. Yes, do put the shovel away, and lets hope it stays there until next time.

Take care everyone,

Janie

This week w/doing doubles it has me working my abs every single workout. Last night it was supposed to be Total Body Cardio Mix but my arm was screaming most of the day yesterday. Took an Advil & it was better by afternoon. Decided to switch things up & do instead KCM's Total Body Kickboxing workout #1 (I missed my kickboxing!) + Pilates. Tonight's supposed to be Cardio Fix but I can't stand this one so will substitute Turbo Fire 30 Class + Upper Fix. Yes there's abs in Upper Fix!!!

This week the meal plan changed w/days 19-21 you're only to eat oatmeal w/fruit + egg whites & then the rest of your small meals are just protein & veggies. Its going good so far. I think I'll make it. But quite honestly I don't think I lost anything in my waist or hips. I'll measure myself on Saturday & see. You never know.

Michelle: Did you order just the 21 Day Fix workouts or did you order the Essential package like me? You don't need to lose any weight so I'm assuming you just ordered the workouts. Its not difficult to do 2 workouts in a day as there only 30 min. each. Goes by fast. So you are forging ahead w/Meso 3! I love that Meso or at least I used to. Do you own a squat rack? I hope both of us have seen the last of snow. Thinking of a trip to the Carribbean. Ahhh! Especially with a stiff cocktail lounging on the beach.

Cindy: Welcome back! We missed you. Sorry that the kiddies have been down w/colds. And despite all you have going on you still manage to do your workouts. Your amazing!

Janie Sis: I hope your not coming down w/something. Get some rest & plenty of tea w/honey & lemon. Even though you aren't feeling the greatest you still did a great workout. Feel better.

Laura: Hope all is well w/you. We're all thinking of you.

Take care,
Kathy

I was exhausted last night but pushed through and did Decelerator and felt so much better after. I use that as my motivation because it is the upper I need daily! I can't remember what I'm supposed to do tonight, good thing it's written down at home :) I struggled with some emotional eating yesterday so today I'm trying to let what I can't control go and not obsess about it - easier said than done!

Michelle - I hope that shovel gathers dust and isn't used for a long time :) Kids are great at sharing germs even when they don't share anything else! As they get older it tends to get better but everyone seems to be battling this year.

Janie - At least one person didn't have to shovel in this group! Get plenty of rest and water if you're getting sick, I know airborne really helped keep me from getting sick this past month.

Kathy - Great job with your workouts and it's nice to do something you love to give some aching muscles a break. Hopefully you'll lose some inches and be surprised.

Cindy

OK, I'm sick. Will take a few days off from exercising and see how I feel then. $ht! If it's not one thing it's another.

Kathy Sis, Great job on KCM's Total Body Kickboxing 1. Looks much like the way I eat. Hang in there, the body will adapt and will soon see a difference.

Cindy, Great job on Decelerator. Anything you can do to help with the annoying guilt trip we put onto ourselves, is good. Try not to obsess, yes it's easier said than done. (HUGS). I know. Next time I'm out I'll buy some airborne. Thanks for the tip.

Take care,

Janie

Last night changed my mind & did KCM's Circuit Burn cardio & boxing premix. I just wasn't feeling it but stuck it through. I should've went w/my first inclination & do Turbo Fire. Oh well. Next I had to do Upper Fix. Oh this was HARD; had to do planks again. Autumn is the Queen of planks. This meal plan has my energy level diminishing. Thank goodness its only for today & tomorrow to get through. No fruits either.

Tonight's Dirty 30 + Pilates. I hope I get through this. I may need more coffee.

Janie Sis: OH NO! Your sick. Airborne is a great product. It really does work. My DH takes it & it helped him this winter. <<<<<HUGS>>>>> Feel better soon.

Cindy: I could sure use some warmth these days. Its only 16 degrees today. Brrr! Great job on pushing through w/Decelerator. Do you like P90X3?

Take care ladies!
Kathy

My body was tired last night and I really struggled with Triometrics, I pushed as much as I could but I didn't have the energy or stamina. I'm doing the Friday workout tonight since it's supposed to be Pilates and but I signed up for a Pilates equipment class for Friday so I figured I could swap things around.

Janie - So sorry you're sick! Pump the vitamin C still and hopefully it will be short lived.

Kathy - It's hard to stick with a meal plan that kills your energy, compensate with your workouts if you can. I do like P90X3, most nights go by quickly and I don't have the knee issues that I had with P90X. Last night went slow because my muscles were just tired.

Cindy

well darn Im sick with a bad cold. I am actually surprised how little I have been sick this season considering the amount of stress I have been under....

Looks like I haven't checked in for awhile although I did peep in a few times to see how everyone was doing!
Saturday I did Intensity
Sunday I did STS TB which wrapped up that series of DVD's
Monday I did PUB at the gym
Tuesday I did IMAX2 and was dogging it so badly and sure enough by tuesday night I knew I was down for the count!

No rest for the weary though super busy week with the girls. They have 4 performances for their 7th Grade Play which was Don Xiote done in spanish and english and was an ambitious 2 hour play. And Sophia has rehearsal all week for her Ballet School's performance of Ces't Le'vie that is this weekend with 4 performances!

All on top of their 'normal' busy routine!

Phew

Kathy Sis, Great job on KCM's Circuit Burn cardio and boxing premix. Good for you sticking with it when you weren't feeling the urge to finish it. An doing Upper Fix. It sounds HARD

Cindy, Great job on doing Triometrics. Struggling that hard may be, you need to lesson your workout load or modify. Nothing wrong with that.

Laura, I'm struggling with a cold as well. Great job on Sat. Intensity. I love that one, so challenging. I just need to get the last 10 min. of it. LOL Also on Sun. STS TB. Congratulations for finishing it. You are so good! Also for Mon. PUB at the gym and Tues. IMAX2. It sounds like it was challenging. Oh the joys of performances and having 4 of them seems very busy. Then on top of that Ballet with 4 performances. Wow. How are you hanging in there? You amaze me! Hopefully it will be normal once this is over. Whew!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Greetings and Salutations!

Wow, it looks like everybody is busy, tired and/or sick. Well, I must admit I'm 2 out of 3. Busy and tired but thankfully not sick. Plus it's been another crazy week at school, with snow days and delays, a weird schedule just seems to throw everything out of sync. I thought we might have seen the last of snow days, but we are closed again due to snow, ice and sleet. Ugh! But we bank time and probably won't have to make this up. I just hope this is the last snow day of the year. Enough already!

I have finished week 1 of STS meso 1. I'm in heaven. I love it. I'm sore in all the right places. Today is my rest day and I plan on doing just that! Yesterday I did Basic Step with some teachers after school and then I did Step Moves by myself, since that is what was on my rotation. Loved it. Was a dripping sweaty mess afterwards. My coworkers are getting better at Basic, they really seem to enjoy and are getting better at it. Looks like I'll be doing double cardio every Tuesday and Thursday, to help keep my friends motivated.

Looks like my friends here, need to slow down and rest. Which is not always an easy thing to do, but it does help in healing. Listen to what your body is saying and comply!

Cindy, I have watched the P90x3 infomercial a few times. It looks interesting, but I can honestly say I did not like P90x the original very much. Tony Horton gets on my last nerve. I wouldn't be against trying it, but it would have to be someone's DVDs I could borrow. There is no way I'd buy it without sampling it first. I think I will be selling my P90x on EBay and I don't care if I only get $10 for it. Perhaps 30 minutes of Tony Horton is more doable but I'll be sticking with Cathe for a while and revert to being a "Cathe snob"! ;)

Laura and Janie hope you feel better soon. Kathy continued good vibes being sent your way. Keep up the good work on 21 Day Fix.

Yo, yo Sister! Don't work too hard. Stop and chill out very once in a while.

Happy weekend!

Renee

Last night even though my legs felt like lead I managed to get through Dirty 30. I was supposed to do Pilates again but figured I would give my abs a much needed rest. Autum is the Queen of abs in 21 Day Fix. Tonight thank goodness its yoga. Ah! Can't wait.

My meals have been going well. Last night my DH & DS had pasta which is my favorite. I was strong & resisted it. First time that ever happened. I'll take my measurements tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll see a little change.

Tomorrow afternoon I start Zuzka's kettlebell dvd workout #2. The first one is a demo of all the moves. I'll watch this tonight & I may have to practice after my yoga.

Janie Sis: Feel better. Take care of that cold. Drink plenty of fluids & rest.

Cindy: I hear you on the tired. I too was going slower than I normally do. I didn't think I could lift up another db or do another rep. Glad you made it through just like me.

Laura: You did some heavy duty workouts there. And all the running around you have to do w/the girls I'm not surprised you came down with a cold. <<<<HUGS>>>>> Feel better soon. Like Renee said slow down if you can.

Renee: Your back at it w/STS & even finished up w/M1Wk1. Don't mention that dreaded word "Snow" to me. We're expecting snow next week. Enough already! That's so great that your co-workers like Cathe. I'm sure once they've mastered the Basic step dvd they'll be asking for more, more.

Waves to Michelle. Stop working so hard!

Kathy

Haven't seen a downside to this cold yet. Hopefully soon.

Renee, I can't believe you are still dealing with snowy weather. Yuck. Congrats on finishing week 1 STS meso 1.:) And for your DOM's. Enjoy your rest day today. Also great job on doing yesterday's Basic Step with friends and Step Moves by yourself. I love both of these workouts too. How can anyone not like them? Hope you guys continue with it on Tues. and Thurs. Good for you.

Kathy Sis, Great job on managing to get through with Dirty 30. It sounds mean! Enjoy your yoga tonight. It's good to hear you are doing so well on your meals.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I'm starting to feel some sinus stuff so I'm pumping the Airborne to try to keep it at bay. Overall I feel good so hopefully it won't get worse. Last night I did Decelerator for the second time this week and I did better with energy and ability so I must have just been tired on Wednesday. After work I'll be doing a Pilates Equipment class, I'm a little nervous but I can do anything I set my mind to and it will be fun :)

With the temps in the high 40's we are flooding all over right now, it's the worse it's been in decades and I feel bad for lots of people and towns. Hopefully the water will find better places to go soon. My backyard has a big pool near the fence line but I'm thankful it's not at my foundation and won't be reaching it.

Laura - Hope you kick the cold soon and have a great time with the ballet, how fun!

Janie - I hope you're feeling better!

Renee - I love your energy! Are you a teacher? I do think Tony is more tolerable in the P90X3 and I've enjoyed the workouts quite a bit. I am looking forward to getting a Cathe dose in but will probably throw in a couple weeks of P90X3 here and there.

Kathy - Great job with the will power and not having the pasta, it is hard! Enjoy your yoga tonight and the wonderful stretch :)

Cindy

Ended up being another busy work week and I just zoned out on checking in. Fortunately, I did not zone out on my workouts. Started STS meso 3 on Thursday, yesterday was XTRAIN AOLIH. I'm mixing the cardio workouts in from the March rotation. Today I have to decide plyo legs or squat rack; I'm leaning toward squat rack. That could change in a couple of hours; we'll see.

Since I've missed a few days, I'm hoping that those of you who have been sick are feeling better. Seems like everyone in this group who does not live in Virginia has been under the weather. The snow is just about gone here but the ground is saturated once again. No yard work this weekend but I might vaccuum each of our vehicles out. They sure do need it.

Kathy: I did order 21 day fit; just the basic workout package and I think it comes with the containers for sizing food portions. I'll give beachbody credit. They are persistent with their sale add-ons. But I really just want the workouts and that was what I ordered--no add-ons. Are you done with 21 day fit now? Do you have kettle-bells. I just haven't been attracted to the kettle-bell workouts.

Cindy: Hope the water is receding in Montana--at least receding in your backyard. Hope you are keeping the sinus-yuck at bay. Spring is definitely in the air here in Virginia because my nose is running all the time. Last year my allergies weren't really an issue; this year has been different so far. Personally, I think if I had a golden retriever puppy my allergies would settle down. I'll have to try that one with my DH who isn't "ready" to talk puppy yet.

Laura: you have a busy week. Try to get some rest in between the girls activities. I think that colds are just natures way of telling us that we need to chill and rest.

Janie: how are you feeling? Able to kick your cold yet? Seems like you start working up steam on your workouts and then something knocks you back a step. Hopefully, you will be rolling again soon. I have to tell you that I wore your jewelry one day this past week. It always makes me smile and feel like I'm getting a little extra jump on the day when I put your jewelry on.

Sister: Guess you are starting week two of STS today. Enjoy!

Happy weekend to everyone!
Michelle

Still So Very Sick

This cheered me up quite a bit. I want to be just like her when I'm her age, let lose and have fun. Just makes me want to hug her! It isn't hilarious, it is a blast. Didn't want it to end.

Cindy, I think it's too late for Airborne for me. Darn! Next time though. Great job on Decelerator. We are at high 40's also. It's nice but it's so rainy. Not what you guys have for sure but still. Yuck!

Michelle, I think the stars are against me. You are right I pick up really good on my exercises and something happens. Oh well, when it's over will start again. It's not like I don't have the time, right? Good to see you are not zoning out on your workouts. Glad you are starting STS and doing XTRAIN AOLIH. I like the way you mixed the cardio workout in from March rotation. I decided to make more jewelry for the Art to sell this Summer. It will be made from very colorful origami paper and beads. I always like reading you wearing the jewelry I made you. You put a smile on my face as well, every time. Thank you.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Step moves today. I think this is the first time I've done Step Moves since Ripken went to the Rainbow Bridge. It was one of his favorites--he liked to sit right where I could pat him on the head when I went around the step. It was a little hard to get through, but I did. Also, feeling good DOMS in my legs from squat rack yesterday.

Janie: just take some time to rest and you'll feel better before you know it. It seems like you have not been doing as much art work of late. I wonder if your body is missing the creativity and the positive energy that you generate from it. Just a thought.

Hope everyone else is feeling better.
Michelle

Michelle, Great job on Step moves today. Congrats on the nice DOM's you have in your legs. I do think Ripken is close to you somehow. He loved his mama. Just like I think my little Molly, is still with me somehow. Maybe? You are such an insightful individual. Do you think you might have an old soul? Yes maybe you are right and I should do more art. It does give me positive energy. This is when I truly appreciate friends here. Just the simplest and honest phrase you wrote gives me motivation yet to do another art piece. How do you do that? Hugs to you and thank you.

Take care,

Janie

PS Yesterday was a horrible day with this cold, but today was better. I think now is the turning point on healing, but it's so slow.
