Getting Our Licks In!

3-17-14

Saturday after I had my hair done I did Zuzka's kb workout #5 + 10 Min. Abs Mix. I was quite surprised at how short the kb workout was. Sunday was Amy Bento Ross's Body Box (All Cardio premix). Tonight will be Zuzka's kb workout #6 + Pilates Mix.

Saturday DH & I went out for a couple of drinks & appetizers. Its nice to get out & catch up on everything that happened during the week.

Michelle: Your breezing by the STS rotation. Can't believe how quickly you'll be finished. I think I'll also do PRS #2 this week. Don't remember any of the choreo but I'll just wing it. You probably did get snow. We're mostly just cold here in NY (25 degrees). Brrr! Hope you don't have to take out that shovel or the Aviator.

Renee: Your kids must be so cute & I'm sure everything will go well for the big day. I'm sure the kids keep you on your toes but you love it. Glad you've even gotten in your workouts. I don't think you'd enjoy P90X3. You'd have to shut the sound off completely so as not to hear Tony's voice.

Janie Sis: Finally you're feeling better. Maybe you'll be up to doing a low impact workout this week. Just listen to your body & don't do too much, too soon.

Cindy: We had gorgeous weather on Saturday. 45 degrees is still cold for me. We keep flipping from 66 down to 28. Crazy. I'm glad you went to your Pilates class w/a friend. I love Pilates especially doing it on a reformer. Let the kids enjoy their grandparents while they can. Its nice for you to get the much needed break. I happen to have some essential oils. One is lavendar that I use at night to calm me & to help me sleep. It seems to work. I'd be interested too in your 2 week Cathe rotation that you put together.

Waves to Laura!

Happy St. Patsy's Day!

And, ick, snow. No school, no first grade program. Postponed until tomorrow. It will make for an incredibly long day. I have my after school Orff program, then exercise with the girls, maybe get in my DVD cardio for STS rotation, maybe not. Eat something? Debatable, and then try to clean up enough to put on the show for the general PTA meeting. Whew, a long Tuesday looms!

Today, I'm just relaxing mostly. Did meso 1-8, back and triceps. I may play some Just Dance on the Xbox or wii. Or both!

Renee

The weekend was pretty darn perfect with my diet and I was fairly productive around the house. I'll get my routine posted for the next 2 weeks (I left it at home) but I do know I start tonight with Afterburn, I'm ready for some good burning!

Janie - Glad you're feeling better and I believe illness is harder on the body with age, it seems everything is!

Michelle - We realize warm to us is usually still cold to most everyone else :) I wouldn't give up our seasons though I really do enjoy the changes. He's definitely still a Marine, you can tell the minute you meet him. I'm loving his get-to it attitude and it will be good to rub off on my crew.

Kathy- Great job on the workouts and it's always nice to get out for a little date night. I ordered a few oil blends to help with the kids sleep and their focus plus one for fighting colds and one to help with my ovarian cysts. I'm really excited to try them.

Renee - what a bummer on the snow and now having a packed full Tuesday. Enjoy your day today at least :)

Cindy

5 and 1/2 inches of snow. Fortunately, the sidewalks, driveway, and roads were pretty warm, so most of it melted on its own; not much shoveling; mostly just had to clear off the SUVs. DH had a doctor's appointment and then ran some errands; I've been working at home.

Kathy: I'm glad that you did not get any snow. The temps are supposed to go up steadily through the week, so this snow will be gone in about two days and then the ground will be sopping wet--again. It's always good to spend time catching up with the DH. Sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. Relaxing weekends are good!

Cindy: I guess everything is relative wrt temperature based on where you live. I would like to visit Montana (in the summer) some day. It is supposed to be quite lovely. When I travel across the U.S., usually for business, I try to appreciate the topography of each area. I have a trip to lovely Twentynine Palms, CA coming up in a couple of weeks. Lots of sand and mountains--nice for a visit.

Sister: hopefully this is the last snow day for you (and for me, even though I just work at home). Your kids will do great tomorrow. I bet you sleep really well tomorrow night.

Hi to Janie!
Michelle

During the day Rolly and I took a walk about 6 min. each time. Eventually we walked 45 min. today. Yea, I'm out and about in this Spring time weather.

Michelle, Great job on today's Party Rocking Step 2. Yep, it's a keeper. What? 70 degrees? Can't believe the unreal weather you are about to get. Let's hope not. But then again, March is such a weird weather month anyway. Stay safe and warm. Yes I agree about hand washing...when I shop I get those wipes and wipe down the cart handles and afterwords, I have germicide in the car and wipe my hands with that too. Such good advice on adding exercise to the mix. Will do it starting tomorrow. I'm thinking a circuit workout.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Sat. Zuzka's KB #5 and 10 min. abs mix. Also for Sun. Amy Bento Ross's Body Box all cardio. I love Amy. Aw, it's always nice to spend some time with your honey. Sounds so sweet. Aw, thinking about doing a circuit workout tomorrow for about 30 min. or so. I will listen to my body, thank you for the support. Wish me luck.

Renee, Happy St. Patsy's Day to you too! OH NO! Snow? Bummer. March is always such a weird month. It's almost over then April Showers. So sorry for your long day tomorrow. Hopefully everything will work out for ya. I feel for you. Great job on Meso 1-8, back and triceps. I love to dance, I bet it was fun.

Cindy, I love how things are working out for you on your diet. Enjoy Afterburn tonight. WooHoo!

Michelle, NO! I'm so sorry you got 5 1/2 inches of snow. Glad it didn't last. And even more glad you stayed home to work.

Take care,

Janie

Are You Kidding Me?!?!

I'm up, dressed and in my morning routine for school. Thinking there is a chance for a 2 hour delay and the tv flashes that my school system is closed! What?!? Seriously, no way! I call the county info hotline...sure enough. CLOSED! I get the e-mail too. I wonder what the deal is. Most school systems are in a delay, but the immediate area is closed. Wah! Tomorrow is church night in these parts of Virginia. Will my first graders ever put on their play? Ridiculous! Oh well, I'll just go with the flow. Nothing I can do about it.

Today won't be the day from hell, I envisioned. Stay home, MMA Boxing is on the docket. Maybe I'll add the heavy bag bonus. Love that, it's fun and helps relieve frustrations. Play some more Just Dance games. The cats will love having me home for another day. Lots love and attention.

Janie, slow and steady wins the race. Glad you are feeling better. Listen to your body and don't try to do too much, too fast.

Stay strong everybody! Fight fight!

Renee

Afterburn had me sweating and sucking air last night. I forgot how Tony doesn't keep the constant go/go that Cathe does - he talks too much! It felt great :) Here's my plan for the next two weeks with a focus on LIS, they are still mostly 30 min workouts:

Afterburn 1-10
Slide & Glide cardio+abs+stretch
X-10 STEP
Athletic Training - Upper body express
Yoga Express #1
Off (parents in town)
Turbobarre #2
Athletic Training - leg cardio express
X-10 STEP + another X-10
Off (wine club night)
Slide & Glide - Muscle Conditioning
Yoga Express #2
Turbobarre #1
Muscle Max Upper

Looking forward to slide & glide tonight and working my abs. We had slick roads with the wet snow that froze last night, I think the roads should clear up today with temps above freezing. I lost 3.6 pounds last week, amazing what cutting sugar out will do!

Michelle - That's a lot of snow, glad most of it melted on the warm sidewalk. Montana is great in the summer and there is so much to enjoy - I really love fall here also. Definitely worth a trip to see Glacier and Yellowstone at least :)

Janie - Glad you got out for some walks. Is your cold completely gone? It seems like the sinus issues keep hanging on for everyone and I'll feel great then be stuffed again.

Renee - That is so disappointing to be ready and then not have to go in! Glad your day won't be so stressful and enjoy the boxing and Just Dance.

Last night was Zuzka's kb workout #6 + Pilates Mix. zuzka introduced some new moves in this one. Great workout. Tonight will be PRS #1 (combos 1-4). I'll try to do 5 & 6. Hopefully I'll get the choreo.

Cindy: Glad to hear you lost 3.6 #s & the diet is spot on. Good job! I like your rotation. Enjoy it. Hope the roads cleared up today. I too would love to visit Montana some day.

Renee: How awful is that!!! Nothing worse than getting ready for work & nowhere to go. Enjoy your dance cardios today & the boxing.

Michelle: That's quite a bit of snow you got. Hopefully its all dissipated by now. I must say I much prefer MMA Boxing opposed to Kickbox. I know you enjoyed it anyway.

Janie Sis: That was a nice long walk you took w/Rolly. Are you all better now?

Take care,
Kathy

Did 20 min. of Body Fusion. I was starting to feel weak, so I listened to my body and stopped. Today I took Rolly into the vet. He is acting very strangely. He sniffs the air or stretches is neck up and also licks his paws. It starts in the afternoon and gets worse by night time. Was able to get him on video to show the vet. Glad I did. They also took blood in hopes to find out why he is doing this. Poor baby, they gave him an annal extraction, cut his nails, opened his mouth and look at his teeth, poked and probed and got their blood. I'm hoping he's just a unique doggie and nothing is wrong with him. The vet will call me tomorrow morning.

Renee, Wow, still school closure? Wow. Yep, go with the flow. Hugs. Enjoy the boxing.

Cindy, Great job on Afterburn. Getting all sweating and sucking air is good. Very proud of you. The next two weeks in your rotation sounds really good. You will be busy. Congratulations for losing 3.6 pounds. YaHoo! You deserve it, you are doing so well. No, my cold is still here a little. I'm coughing a bit at night is all. No bad and not taking any meds.

Kathy Sis, I'm feeling much better thank you. Great job on Zuzka's ab workout #6 and Pilates Mix. You are doing so well.

Take care,

Janie

Last night I had every intention of doing PRS #1 but I just caved. Way too exhausted. I'll be back at it though tonight. Zuzka's kb workouts #7 & #8. This will finish up Disc #3. My left leg & upper abs are killing me today! :) I'm sure it came from all the double arm swings & the 2 ab moves that Zuzka had me doing. I never feel like this from Pilates.

Janie sis: Happy to hear that the cold is almost gone. Good workout you did even though I have no idea what's on Body Fusion. LOL I must be a circuit workout right? I hope you get a good report from the vet. I'll be praying for Rolly. Give him a kiss on his head for me.

Take care everyone!
Kathy

Rolly is good! They think he's acting that way because he needs his teeth cleaned. They have an opening in May but looking for a sooner one. Will come back later tonight to post my workout.

Kathy Sis, Must have needed the rest from your workout. Glad you are listening to your body. Yes, it was a circuit workout. Tonight will be cardio. Thank you for your prayers, they worked. Rolly loved his kiss on the head. LOL

Janie

I'm feeling like I'm on top of the game and it's a good feeling. Last night was X10 STEP, I forgot how much of a sweat fest it was in a short amount of time! The night before was Slide & Glide, I'll tell you my glutes are so sore that when I would move in bed last night it woke me up! Tonight is Athletic Training but I may have to make it a shorter workout because I need to get the house cleaned/organized since my parents will be in town this weekend. This week has gone fast for me.

Janie - So glad Rolly is OK and has a cleaning coming up. What a relief!

Kathy - Good job recognizing you needed a break, that can be hard to do sometimes :)

Cindy

Rolly and I walked around the yard about 15 min. Also did Low Impact Circuit premix Total Body Sculpting 45 min. I needed this so badly!

Cindy, I know how you are feeling, I'm feeling on top too. YahOO! Great job on X10 Step and the night before for doing Slide & Glide. Congrats on the DOM's.

Take care,

Janie

The kids wanted to workout with me last night so we did the short Athletic Training and Brodie went on and on about how he wants to workout with me all the time when he's older - so cute! I also got the house cleaned and prepped a crock pot meal so no stress tonight :) I planned to get up and do yogamax this morning but Lucas had me up from about 3-4 and I opted to get an extra 1/2 hour of sleep instead. I'll have to double up on Sunday but that's OK. Dave and I are going out for dinner and drinks tonight since my parents will be in town and will watch the kids. We're trying a new place so that will be fun.

I did get an ego boost this morning. I work on a campus and as I was walking from the parking lot to my building a college guy gave me the double take and told me I was looking great today. I'll take that compliment :)

Janie - So glad I'm not the only person feeling on top of the world! Great job getting body sculpting in!

Cindy

It's been a busy week--very long work days: Monday, 12 hours; Tuesday, 14 hours; Wednesday, 16 hours. Went to bed at 9pm last night and slept until 8 this morning. Felt good enough to do STS disc 31 today--which didn't happen yesterday because I was physically and mentally tired. Next week should be normal 9-10 hour work days.

Janie: I'm glad to hear that the vet thinks it is just Rolly's teeth that are troubling him. Hopefully, he'll be back to normal Rolly after the teeth cleaning.

Cindy: double-takes from coworkers are a good thing. Way to go! Those LIS workouts do hit your muscles in different ways--particularly slide and glide.

Kathy: if you were too tired then you were right to save PRS1 for another day. I consider those good-to-high energy day workouts. Changing up your workouts must be having good effect if you are feeling different types of "good" soreness. I always take that as a good sign.

Hi to sister!

3-21-14

Last night had an appointment with the accountant. No workout. Got back home too late. The other night I did #7 kb workout. Whoa! Zuzka introduced me to windmills, one arm alternating swings & other moves that I've never done before. Great workout. I plan on doing kb workout #8 tonight which will be the last one for Disc #3. I decided to not go onto Disc #4 as I'm missing Autumn from 21 Day Fix too much! LOL Saturday I'll be back to Total Body Cardio Fix.

Michelle: WOW those are heavy duty hours at work. Glad you got some much needed rest.

Janie Sis: Glad your back at it w/your workouts & had a nice walk w/Rolly.

Cindy: Enjoy your evening out w/DH. DOMS are great aren't they? LOL That's so cute that you had all the kids working out w/you. Would that bother you if Brodie wanted to workout w/you all the time? That does feel wonderful when you get a double take from your co-worker but I'm sure your a looker to begin with.

Have a great weekend ladies!
Kathy

Rolly and I walked 20 min. today. Tonight was X10 Workout 2 Low Impact. Love this one!

Cindy, Great job for you and the kids doing Athletic Training. Brodie is a doll baby! Nice to get the house clean and already done with dinner by doing a crock pot meal. Good for you. Enjoy your night out with Dave. Sounds like fun. I bet you are getting looks you don't even know about. Enjoy.

Michelle, OMG! You are going to work yourself to death. Great job on STS disc 31 today (don't know how you did that with all the work you did from your job) Glad to hear next week will be normal hours.

Kathy Sis, Great job on #7 KB workout. Sounds like a fantastic workout with all those new moves.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Ran some errands first thing this morning, then puttered around inside the house. After lunch, I worked in my garden--getting up the early weeds, put down garden lime, and a bag of peat moss. I think I need about two more bags of peat moss and then I can put down my preen, then the mulch. I'll be happy if I get the peat moss done this weekend. Preen and mulch can wait until next weekend. Don't want to overdo. Felt good just to be outside.

Janie: I'm overextended at work, it is true. But I think I'm just about caught up--more or less. Just have to keep my nose to the grind stone the next few weeks and things should even out (I hope). X10 Low Impact is next up on the March rotation for cardio this week with slide and glide. We'll see how I feel about doing both Monday morning.

Kathy: sounds like you are trying to get your taxes done. Fortunately mine are done. Still haven't gotten my 21-day Fix. I even sent BeachBody an email--no response. I'll have to check their website to see if they have another email address for order inquiries. Kind of irritating that they do not respond. When you email Cathe about an order, you always get a response.

Cindy: You are teaching your kids good lessons. Never too early for exercise. Hopefully for them right no, it is more like playing. But still good that they see you exercising and get the basic point: fitness is good for you.

Okay--thinking about motivating to go get those two bags of peat moss.
