Getting Our Licks In!

HI everyone. Yesterday was a break day. Today, I did low impact step and STS stability ball ab circuits. Nice day here in Northern Virginia. After our late afternoon walk, Ripken and I just sat down in the yard and enjoyed the sunshine. I sat on the garden landscape stone and Ripken sat next to me with his body and head leaned up against me. I would have sat there forever with him, but eventually he decided to get up to go back in the house. He wanted his dinner. Now he is lying down next to me in my office. I thank God everyday I have with him.

Janie: messing up one day of eating is just that: messing up one day. Tomorrow you can start anew! I haven't done Ride yet but I'm going to give it a go on this rotation.

ReneeP: glad to hear that you are feeling better. I'm amazed you've been able to work in any exercise. I guess it's all about moderation. When I get a cold, I usually really struggle with trying to get any exercise done.

Today was Gym Style Back, shoulders and biceps.

Michelle, Hope you enjoyed your break day yesterday. And great job on LIS and STS stability ball ab circuits. OH I find that one very challenging. We are having beautiful weather as well. Good job walking late afternoon with Ripken and enjoying the sunshine, garden landscape stone. Love how much Ripken tells you he loves you. Thank you for your support on eating. Sometime it's such a struggle.

Today was Gym Style chest and triceps. Yowee! My triceps are always shaking like crazy by the end of this workout. Got to love it. Took Ripken outside this afternoon while the sun was out and it was feeling nice and warm--combed out my handsome boy. He sure loves to be groomed. I still need to get him to his groomer at least to get his nails done and feet trimmed. I might take over giving him a bath and do it at home. Not sure about that idea.

Janie: yes, I like to eat too. Some days we do better than others. My motto: all good things in moderation. Yes, we all need to try to avoid certain things that are not good for us. Do any of us look at fast food places the same now as 20 or 30 years ago? Most likely not. Do we approach grocery shopping the same as 20 or 30 years ago? Also, most likely not. But we find new really tasty items. Like today, I had left over quinoa with cucumber and balsamic vinagrette dressing. Yum, yum.

My daughter is having a procedure done and needs me to take her to the hospital and back. Then I'll stay a couple of days to watch after her. Should be back on Wed. She is OK, just women things nearing premenopausal, so that her periods hopefully will stop. Yeek! I don't know exactly what it is, but will find out more while I'm with her.

Don't know what kind of computer set up they have, but in case you don't hear from me that's why.

Winter is back for a couple of days. As nice as yesterday was--well today was not: snow, sleet, ice, rain. We've had a little bit of everything. Hopefully, it is done and won't really do all this mess through the night and into tomorrow morning. Either way, Ripken and I will don our walking gear and do our thing in the morning. Did RIDE! premix#2 and STS yoga-inspired abs. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun RIDE! is. I don't have a spin bike but just used Joe's stationary bike. Worked okay for me.

Janie: Hope all goes well for your daughter. Why can't mother nature let things happen with less issues? We will be here when you get back.

ReneeP: haven't heard from you in a few days, hope all is well.

Omgoodness,

I did post! Two times... Not here! What in the world, im losing my mind or the forum swallowed it..
Today i did low impact challange step in the lis.. Yesterday was tb sts lb premix.. 22 minutes! Love at and straight forward. Love that too.

I had my doc apt he ran blood work and set me up with orthopedist about my wrist pain i get. He also put me on prozac... Surprise..huh..
Oh well he knows i hate pills so we talked about eating for health he to is the same believe that its what we eat that can make a difference. But also i feel animal products are bad too. So we discusssed getting protein wiith plants.. My kind of doctor... Really glad i found him.. He says he wants to try the prozac only to get me on track sleeping again. And to address my depresssion. So hopfuly i only need to be on it a little while.
I still have a cold and it is mostlly sinus and thoat. I hope i feel better next tues thats when i llan on getting back on my rotation week 11.
 
Snow on the ground this morning. No big deal; it will most likely be gone by mid-day. I am so ready for spring. Did Slide and Glide cardio and Athletic training cardio this morning. Wow! And my butt has DOMS in new places from RIDE! yesterday. Took me a while to figure out the source of the DOMs this morning. How easily we forget yesterday's workout. Oh--and my triceps are still screaming from GS on Saturday. Wowzers!

ReneeP: it sounds like you might be on the road to dealing with some physical issues. I don't like taking pills either, so I hope changing your diet helps. I'm assuming the doc was good to go with your exercise. And yes, sometimes the Forum swallows our posts. I hate when that happens.

It has finally stopped raining--thank goodness. The ground is sooooo wet. It will take a month of Sundays for things to dry out--maybe by the weekend so I can do some yard work? Ripken and I had a nice walk this morning, then I did GS Back, Shoulders, and Biceps. I don't know why but I seem to struggle more with the back exercises than I used to. Shoulders and biceps were great this morning. 15 pound dumbbells for bicep curls are starting to get "easier." I can't believe I'm thinking that someday 20 pound dbs will be doable for bicep curls. Thank you Cathe! Who ever said that getting older means getting weaker--NOT!

Cbs disk 1 i went heavier to make it more intense, man it worked!

Michelle dang that is cool! I just now got up to 12 for biceps! U r strong! Wtg!

Hi everyone. GS Legs today. It's one of those workouts that I have a love-hate relationship with. I'm always like: oh yeah there are those back lunges too--dang. The best part about the floor work is that you are "on the ball" or laying on the floor, other than that it's all about the burn. Thank goodness tomorrow is a rest day.

ReneeP: it has taken 5 years of working out with Cathe to get up to 15 pound dbs on bicep curls. Now I'm eyeing the 20 pounders and thinking they just might be possible some day. Did it slowly increasing from 12 pounds by one pound at a time using paceweights. It's all about getting stronger bit-by-bit, day-by-day.

I did three mile jog and finaly got in three miles in 32 minutes! That was cool cause i was not trying to go fast i was only trying to finish and that was just a boost. Lol
 
Got back yesterday. Tried to do a little catch up and time got ahead of me. Monique is doing well, and my grandson Cody is amazing. When I left they seemed healthy and happy. Will update later as what workout I did today.

ReneeP, Great job on Cbs disc 1 and going heavier. Glad that worked for you!:D

Michelle, Great job on GS legs. I too have love and hate relationship with any leg workout. LOL

Yesterday was jog three miles and today HS .. I was supose to do tabata and i intended to do one tabata after i ran but it ended up i ran got home to do it and comp came i couldnt fit it in. Had yo grab a quick shower.
 
sorry I've been missing! I have had one thing after another on top of a very busy schedule. I sprained my ankle really badly and went to the urgent care where I picked up a terrible cold that I have now had for over a week!!:mad::mad::mad::(:rolleyes: I haven't had a single workout in 2 weeks! I am about at the end of my rope! It makes me realize how much working out regulates my mood! And my eating as well,.... you would think I would eat more when I workout but I find that exercise must regulate my appetite because I tend to eat more!!!! :eek:

Just thought I would pop in on the forum just to see if can help me find my grove again! I hope to me working out again at least upper body by Monday! They said 6-8 weeks on my ankle but honestly it feels fine so I am going to get moving again here soon!!!

I was wondering if everything was ok!
Lol i have to chuckle cause u sound like me the past two weeks ..i pulled calf muscle so i had to do a diff type of wo then i had head ache everyday then i caught a cold! Still coughing some. But yes my wos help so much. I would literaly not want to get out of bed if i did not exercise. I love my workouts.
How is the family doing? I hope it is getting better..
 
Well my girls are beautiful and amazing! They were stars in their school concert last night!.... My husband and I are distant and trying to serif we can work things out or not... If anything the indecisiveness is probably the hardest thing for me right now. I had an interview at a physical therapy assistant program and looking at PhD programs as well... Looking at time spent And $ versus income ...
 
Awh.. Im hoping it all works out.. Im glad ur girls are still little stars lol.
Maybe counseling can help? I go,alone myself... I know i cant change the people around me they have to but i can change how i react to them or i handle the hurt i have at times. Counseling helps me put things into perspective.
Any way glad to see u back. Now lets get back to workouts ! Lol .. Im trying to be a little forceful. Lol have a great night, keep ur head up. U r to beautiful of a person to be holding ur head down.

Laura, You can find your groove again. I just have one question. How do you want to feel? Yeah, me too. You can do this. I know it's hard sometimes especially when life has unexpected turns. When you yourself realizes how much working out regulates your mood and good eating habits, then you know what must be done. I'm cheering you on and encouraging you in this cyberspace world of ours. When you start working out, ease into it for your ankle still is very tender, even when it feels better. Love that you already know what to do.;)

Hi ladies--a day late on starting our new thread--but here we go....

Ripken and I have been very happy that the icky weather has bypassed our part of Virginia the past few days. That has meant nice long walks in the morning for us. Yesterday, I did All Step and today was Leaner Legs. One more day to go with Cross Train Express. My legs are really feeling it.

Got to get back to work--be back later.
