Getting Our Licks In!

We had home made frozen yogurt tonight.

Kathy Sis, Great job on last nights KCM's Trim Down 2. It sounds like a fun workout. I think my foot will be slow to recover, but I do sense some improving ( I think). No snow for us yet, but some years are worse than others and some years it snows and doesn't stick. During Thanksgiving we pick names and then I'll shop for presents. I bet the decorations are beautiful! Joey and I are going to one of our children's' houses to meet with and have Thanksgiving all together. We each bring something to the dinner table.

What about you?

Take care,

Janie

Last night was Amy Bento Ross's Body box Short premix. This consisted of combos 1 & 2 + Intervals 1-3. Amy's intervals are not easy by any means. I could only manage to do interval #2 2x instead of her 8. My arm was hurting & didn't want to push it. I'll need to practice the move to perfect it.

Tonight I can't decide on Supercuts or Flex Train since I love them both. I'll probably do Supercuts.

Janie Sis: I do wish your foot would heal faster but your doing such a good job on keeping up with your upper body.

Thxgiving my son, Craig is going to a soup kitchen in Manhattan. DH & I will eat w/him when he gets home. I'll be cooking but is easy b/c its only the 3 of us. Most of DH's family live in FL & we don't like to travel this time of the year. BTW: My DH is Jewish.

Enjoy your Thxgiving! I plan on being a glutton.

Take care,
Kathy

PS: Happy Thanksgiving to Laura, Cindy, CDPotier & Michelle & Rippy!

Disc 5 Back and triceps. Got ta love it. Felt really good. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone! It was so delicious! Made chocolate ice cream made from milk kefir and 100% coacoa and less sugar. When I tasted it, it was really good, but still a lot of calories. Must only enjoy 1/2 cup.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Amy Bento Body Box Short premix. Very wise to not push with Tennis Elbow. Yep, she is a toughie.

Wish I would heal quickly too!:( But I can tell it's doing better. I could walk on it ALMOST normal a little bit today. YaHOOOOOOO!

Awwwww! So kind of your son to help with a soup kitchen. I want to hug him for doing that!

I too am planning to be a glutton. LOL:D

Happy Thanksgiving one day late. What a busy time of year. Fortunately, I've been keeping up with my exercise if not with my posts. Wednesday was XTRAIN back, chest, and shoulders; Thursday was Party Rockin Step 1; today was Jillian Michael's boost your metabolism. Got most of my Christmas shopping done (online), the outside is decorated, and the Christmas tree is laying in semi-put-together state in the living room. Thanksgiving was just my DH, Ripken, and me. It was still a very busy day of cooking. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. It's cold here but Ripken is enjoying the weather, so far so good with the pup.

Janie: it sounds like you are doing STS again. I've been toying with starting STS again, maybe in the New Year. What cardio are you mixing in?

Kathy: you've definitely been staying very dedicated to your workouts. You mentioned that your DH is Jewish, so you celebrated Thanksgiving and the beginning of Hannakah, yes?

Hello to Laura, Cindy, and Caitlin. Shadowpup, if you happen to be lurking, I hope you are doing well.
Michelle

Will be continuing tomorrow (Monday) with STS. Then on opposite days will do Ultimate Yogi for my cardio. Can't wait. If my sore foot will allow me. It's time to try, is all I have to say.

Michelle, Yep, I agree it has been a busy time and Christmas and New Years will be as well. I for one have not been keeping up, since the last STS on Wedn. Gained 4 pounds. Yikes, but what did I expect?

Great job on Wedn. XTrain back, chest and shoulders for Thurs. Party Rockin Step 1 and for Jillian Michael's boost your metabolism.

I bet your decorations in the house will be beautiful! If you can show pictures of outside please? I like to oooooo and awwwww.

All I need to get for Christmas is a $25 gift certificate to play poker with and of course my grandson's. Most likely will get something for everyone to share like an assortment of food; apples, pears, oranges, bananas...We don't put up any Christmas decorations, because it's only Joe and me and for us it is too much trouble. We really like not doing it. Saves us a lot of time and effort. I guess we are Ba Hum bugs.

Janie

Happy December! Well, here we go everyone, 24 days until Christmas. I finally got the Christmas tree up but it is not decorated. That will be next weekend's job and then I will start wrapping presents. If the good Lord sees fit, having Ripken with us for one more Christmas would be fantastic, but I know that I just have to be thankful for each additional day and take things as they come. Speaking of taking things as they come: yesterday's workout was XTRAIN bis and tris and today was Rockout Knockout. Love the music on that one.

Janie: I will take pictures and try to post. I haven't figured out how to put pictures in my post, but I do know how to add them to my album under my name. And really, are you sure that you gained 4 pounds? That seems like alot in a very short period of time.

Cindy: I've got to ask: got snow?

I know everyone is busy, but we are thinking about you here and hope that you have had a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. Looking forward to having everyone back some time this week.
Michelle

Michelle, I use Picture Trail and I understand photobucket works as well. Just follow their instruction.

Happy December to you too! Is our Ripken showing signs? I hope one more Christmas too. Please give him a kiss a hug and pet for me. And tell him although I never met him, through you and how you described him, I love him. He is made just for you and isn't it a wonderful thing? My Little Molly/Winkle (and others) was made just for me and so is Rolly and it's truly wonderful to have, and had them in my life.

Great job on yesterdays XTrain bis and tris and for today's Rockout Kockout.

I was going to be a glutton and I did. It's mostly water and will be back to normal in a week or so. I knew it was going to happen. So I can't really complain. LOL

Take care and have a wonderful time with the tree coming up to decorate.

12-2-13

Thanksgiving was quiet at my house. DH threw his back out last week but he said there's nothing wrong w/my stomach or my mouth! LOL I cooked a small meal but turkey was almost 13 lbs. Needless to say we're sick of turkey now. I made a turkey casserole & turkey noodle soup. Thank goodness its all gone.

I didn't workout Wed. or Thurs. On Friday I did Flex Train. Saturday was RPS #1 combos 1-5. That combo 5 threw me for a loop. I had to rewind 4x to get it. I'm determined to nail this entire workout. Sunday was Cardio Leg Blast premix #4 (1-6 + Core #2). Arm was hurting me with those side planks. Otherwise I was able to use my 15's & 20's. Happy camper here.

Tonight will be Kundalini yoga to destress & help my sciatica.

Michelle: I'm sure your Xmas decorations are beautiful & I hope Rippy will be around for another year too. I still miss my 1st baby Blitz. He was a Rottweiler. Great job on your workouts too. Glad you enjoyed your Thxgiving & for completing all of your Xmas shopping. I didn't even start yet. Shame on me.

Janie Sis: Glad you enjoyed your Thxgiving. I don't blame you for not putting up any decorations since its only the 2 of you. My DH loves it. Otherwise I wouldn't bother putting up anything. He still has to put up the moving lighted reindeer on our lawn. Happy to hear that your foot is finally healing. Yipee!

Waves to Caitlin, Cindy & Laura. We'll chat with all of you soon. We know your all busy.

Kathy

Sorry I've been MIA for so long! I keep reading but have been so busy (sick kiddo right before Thanksgiving and then the Thanksgiving rush) so I haven't had time to write. I have done almost 0 exercise but I'm going to change that starting tonight - I think I'll do Athletic Training to get me back into the groove. I gained 2 pounds over Thanksgiving and have a lot of leftovers to use up - it was delicious and worth it at least :) I do have all the Christmas decorations up and have wrapped all the gifts I have on hand so my to-do list is shortening for the Christmas season.

We are expecting a very cold front to move in tonight - dropping us from the 40's today to negative temps overnight, fingers crossed some snow come with it otherwise to have such cold temps and no snow is really depressing.

Kathy - I'm working through our leftovers still - I will probably freeze quite a bit of turkey once the sides are used up. Nice work with the weights!

Janie - It's hard to not be a glutton with all those delicious sides! I even had pumpkin pie for breakfast yesterday! You'll get that extra weight off quickly.

Michelle - Great job getting a start on the Christmas to-do's & awesome work staying active! I hope Ripkin is feeling OK - big hugs to him.

Cindy

For those here who remember Shadowpup. I received an email from her over the weekend. I have copied and pasted part of it below. As always, her writing is heartfelt and genuine. She wrote as follows:

As some of you know, this has been a difficult year for my husband Jeff and for me, with both of us having cancer to battle. To reassure, my own second bout with breast cancer remains under control per a recent recheck - I am fine.

Sadly, Jeff lost his courageous fight with advanced pancreatic and advanced prostate cancer this week, Tuesday night. He had the best possible treatment at Johns Hopkins by one of the leading specialists; we also had tremendous support from Hospice of the Chesapeake. He was my very best friend and better half by far; and my life has been so enriched by our fifteen years together. Too short, too short a time - yet in that space we shared more joy and love than many experience in longer lives. Odd as it sounds, this Thanksgiving I am particularly thankful both for all the goodness in my life, and that Jeff is no longer in pain. It truly was his time to go. He died quietly at home, with me and with his daughter, and a nurse.

>>>
Part of Deb's email is about resuming work in December. It sounds like she will be remaining at her job in Maryland for a while. I believe she still has her home in Idaho, as well. They will be holding a memorial service for her DH in Moscow, Idaho sometime in early 2014.

Tonight was STS disc 7 chest, shoulders and biceps. Love weight lifting. Push ups are really hard for me, hopefully tomorrows yoga will help me with that.

Kathy Sis, I bet you anything yoga will help your sciatica and De-stress. O NO! Your poor hubby. The meals sound really good. I still love turkey, LOL. Great job on Fri's Flex Train, Sat's RPS #1, 1-5. Sometimes working out is hard! Determination is a good thing. Great job on Sundays Cardio Leg Blast premix 4, 1-6 and core #2. Wow 15 and 20 dumbbells! You are on your way now.

Cindy
, So sorry you were sick during the holiday. Not good! Glad to see you are doing well. Me too! Haven't exercised since last Wed. I'm ready to get back to normal. Sounds like you are busy for the next holiday coming. OOOO! Stay warm and safe (-) temps are COLD!

Michelle, Thank you for sharing part of Debs email with us. I will send her a message on FB. My heart hurts for her. Why do horrible things happen to such good and kind people? I just don't understand.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I had an active day yesterday, got in a 30 min walk over lunch and then did Tabata 1 + the core workout, the end of my workout was filled with Lucas crying - it's such a hard life he leads when it's time to go to bed :) My plan for the evening is to do Slide & Glide. I have a dental appointment to get my tooth prepped for a crown this afternoon - I'm not looking forward to it but it has to be done. Afterwards I'm going to run some errands before meeting Lily at cheer practice.

Where I work we got about 3-4 inches but at my house only about 1 inch, a little disappointing since the kids really want to play in the snow. It is cold, we were at 44 yesterday morning and a balmy 4 today! I'm ready for winter and sledding and skating so arms are wide open here :)

Michelle - I don't know Deb but what a strong woman - it's so good to hear her rejoice in what they had for 15 years - such a hard loss!

Janie - Pushups and pullups are rough for me - I don't have the upper body strength I would like to have so that's something I need to work on. Enjoy your yoga today!

Cindy

12-3-13

Last night I did Quick Fixes which features Ana Bennett & Rava Singh. This is Kundalini yoga which is a healing type of yoga. I started off with the Flexibility & Strength. Did fine w/that & then went onto the sciatica one. I did way too many Cobra poses & really injured my shoulder. It was hurting me pretty bad & kept me awake all night. :-( Its starting to feel better today. I think I'll just ice it & rest tonight.

Janie Sis: Your doing so well w/STS rotation. I too used to be so good at pushups & pullups doing P90X but now I'm lucky if I can bang out 20 on my toes. We just do our best and forget the rest as Tony Horton always says. LOL

Michelle: I don't know Shadowpup but my heart goes out to her. She's one strong lady & she has a lot of wonderful memories w/DH to console her.

Cindy: Glad to see you posting. I know how busy you are & its so hard to keep up w/workouts but your doing great. Four degrees!!! Brrr! Not for me. I cring every time it reaches in the 30's. Don't like snow either except for when I'm sitting before a nice warm fireplace with a hot toddy in my hands. LOL I know the kids love it though.

Take care,
Kathy

Long busy day today. Thankfully it was a rest day. I printed out Cathe's December rotation and I think I will be giving that a go starting tomorrow. It's a timesaver rotation using the new workouts; I figure if I want a longer workout, I can always do the longer version.

Janie: pushups are hard for me too. Somedays they seem easier than others.

Kathy: so much for the healing yoga. Hopefully the sore shoulder is a temporary thing.

Cindy: happy to hear you have a little snow. It sounds like more might be headed your way. It's supposed to be near 60 here tomorrow--I like 60 degrees better than 4, that's for sure.

Michelle

Tonight was The Ultimate Yogi (TUY) disc 1, Cross Training & Hardcore (abs). Wow, I certainly am grateful for this series. Needing not only the posses and cardio but also balance. My gosh haven't done yoga for years and I have a lot to catch up on.

Cindy, How was your dental appointment? Great job on your 30 min walk at lunch and then Tabata and core workout. Awww poor Lucas. Our weather is getting colder too. Brrrrrrrrrr. Sounds like you will be enjoying it. I certainly can be fun.

Kathy Sis, Great job on last nights Quick Fixes. I have one or two of their DVD's. OH NO! Hope your shoulder will be OK! Yep, I agree, to your best and forget the rest.:)

Take care everyone,

Janie

X-10 low impact and step this morning. Boy, IMHO, these X-10 workouts are tough. They sure do kick up the heart rate. It's all I can do to get through two of the X-10s. I can't imagine trying to do all 5!

Janie: yoga is challenging for me to. I can't believe that you have gone so long without doing a yoga practice. It just doesn't seem possible.

Cindy: the weatherman says that parts of Montana are going to hit 30 below zero today/tomorrow. Hope you and your family are staying warm.

Kathy: hope you are not as sore today.

Laura: we miss you. Hope you pop back in soon.
Michelle

My dentist appointment went OK, he had to go deeper than my gum line and wound up numbing me more and doing some minor surgery to remove part of my gum - it's a bit tender but ibuprofen is doing it's job. I did get in the slide & glide cardio/stretch and it felt good, I'm really feeling my abs today. Tonight my goal is to do part of Muscle Max - not sure I'll have enough time to get it all in.

It was -9 this morning and I think we're expecting -15 tonight in our area. It felt warm today when it was only 0 :) Now if the roads would get a little less icy it would be perfect!

Michelle - Those X10 workouts are killers, someday I'm going to get through all of them at once.

Janie - Great job on the yoga, it's amazing how much it works your body and is really noticeable when it's been awhile.

Kathy - I hope your shoulder is feeling better - what a bummer!

Cindy

12-4-13

Last night I just rested my arm. It feels better today. I'll just do tonight the exercises that my pt had given me using the band. Hoping for the best.

Cindy: Sorry to hear that the dentist had to do more work than was planned. Hope you get to do MM tonight. Lift heavy for me. Stay warm. Brrr!

Michelle: Didn't you already do the X77 from X10? I could've sworn I read in October rotation you actually did all 5 or did you forget or am I mistaken? Great job on the 2 of them. I've only done the low impact so far.

Janie Sis: Great job on your yoga workout. Its been ages since you've done yoga? I have a love/hate relationship w/yoga. Its a necessary evil isn't it? Have you ever tried Classical Stretch workouts? My girlfriend swears by them.

Take care,
Kathy

I didn't get to MM last night, it was almost 9 by the time I was ready to work out, bills got in the way, so I did a 20 min Pilates workout instead. My kids have been begging to workout with me (they insist they must stay active to be healthy and do better at their sports :) ) so I'll find something we can all do together and then I'll do some clean max once they're in bed.

It was -18 this morning. I'm hoping the sun is at least out when I walk to the post office at lunch.

Kathy - Glad you gave yourself the rest you needed and I hope the PT moves helped. I'm going to move MM to Saturday so I can get the full workout in, that or I need to find more time in the evenings ;)

Cindy

Today Ripken and I had a lovely walk in balmy 55 degree weather. It is supposed to hit 70 today! Crazy. Did Great Glutes timesaver 2 this morning. I guess I must have been working hard because I swore I started to see stars on the pizza presses at the end of the workout. Cathe does about 100 of those puppies on each leg. Yowza!

Cindy: Brrr big-time. Hopefully ya'll will thaw out a little. The cold is coming this way but no where near what you are getting. I think it is great that your kids want to workout with you. Does anyone do a "with kids" exercise video? Could be a good idea for Cathe. Hope your dental work feels better soon. Sounds like it was not fun.

Kathy: I do not know if you purchased all of Cathe's new workouts but I think most could be modified and done without weights and you'd still get a good workout. And I think back in October I wrote that X-10 in its entirety was on the rotation, I did one of the premixes that had three of the five segments and it just about put me out--very challenging.

Hi to Janie and Laura.
