Getting Our Licks In!

A nice walkabout this morning with Ripken and then the wind started blowing in a major way. When I walked Ripken tonight it felt like gale force winds. Electricity is out in part of our county--fortunately not in our neighborhood. I'm guess that the wind had something to do with the electricity outage. Did Basic Step again today and Burn Sets Back. My iliopsoas and glute muscle felt good this morning but tired this evening. Feel like I need to stretch out a little.

Janie: your clean eating is inspirational. I love all kinds of squash but my DH is not so crazy about it and since he tends to do the grocery shopping, squash is not something he brings home; other veggies yes, but not squash.

Hope everyone has had a restful and peaceful weekend. Happy 238th birthday to our Marines.
~Michelle

Yoga Relax tonight. Oh I needed that.

Michelle, Great job on the walk abouts with Ripken. Also for Burn Sets back and Basic Step. I do love that one because it's a good stepping stone for the harder workouts to come. Yep Happy 238 birthday.

Take care,

Janie

Did STS disc 1, Chest, shoulders and biceps.

Wanted to share my Paleo, no grain/wheat bread. It's a lot smaller than it looks, but it truly taste like bread. The texture is a little different, but hey, I can certainly get use to it. LOL

Saturday was a busy day between clean max, cooking, running errands & working out I was tired. Saturday I did Tony Horton's Power Half Hour upper body only. Didn't know what to expect on this workout & I believe I picked up too heavy dbs with my left arm. I'll have to stretch it out more. I also did Rapid Fire 1 abs. Sunday was Insanity's Core Cardio & Balance. This workout is less intense than the other ones. This one gets should for a recovery week. Tonight will be Legs & abs. Couldn't find any sneakers at Modell's. Wound up buying a pair on Amazon & since its Veteran's Day got a discount.

Janie Sis: I did quite a bit of cooking too; not as much as you though. I made egg veggie muffins & roasted veggies. I have a list of foods that I need to stay away from due to the stone. Wheat is number 1 b/c it promotes stones. Wheat's in everything. That's why I was interested in Against All Grain. Your dishes that you cooked up sound DELISH! BTW: TTYT means = talk to you tomorrow. Great job on M1Wk1 Disc #3 Legs & doing Yoga Relax tonight. Take it easy on that foot of yours. Yoga poses can aggravate the foot depending on the position.

Michelle: I don't blame you wanting to get back to Cathe. Its been cold here in NY & we have the winds too. Good job on Burn Sets & Basic Step. I considered doing the Oct. rotation, however, I think the Nov. rotation was too intense for me right now. I only have 1 more pt session & that's it. Ins. co. won't pay for any more sessions.

Cindy: Glad your enjoying practising w/Lily.

Take care,
Kathy

Last night I changed my mind on the workout & instead did KCM's Split Session lower body. I used 12's & 15's. Its been so long since I held a 15 for leg work it almost took my breath away. Legs felt good afterwards but I have to ease up on my arm. I probably did too much.

I ordered my new sneakers from Amazon yesterday. Can't wait to receive them. In the meantime, tonight I'll be doing X10 low impact until I get the new sneakers.

Hope everyone has a good day. I'm so NOT ready for this snow that we have today. Ugh!

Take care,
Kathy

My foot needed a break so took it easy today. Watched Little People tonight. They had a dog named Rocky since they started on TV. Tonight he died of cancer. It was so sad and darn if I couldn't stop crying. Normally I don't watch this program but every now and then there is nothing else to watch.

Janie Sis: I like watching Little People. I don't always catch the show but I did over the weekend. I just love their house don't you? I would've cried too over their dog.

Last night I did X10 low impact. I liked it much better this time around. I may have been in a funk when I did it the 1st time. Tonight's my last pt session. I'll have to take plenty of notes on what she instructs me to do at home.

Have to make this short today.

Will talk more tomorrow.
Kathy

Tonight was meso 1 disc 2, back and triceps. I ordered an ice cream and yogurt maker. Should receive it tomorrow. In the mean time, making yogurt tonight for frozen ice cream tomorrow. Hope it works the way I want. We'll see. Last night I had cauliflower and broccoli soup with pork in it. When I got to bed, I kept smelling something and thought maybe it was Rolly. Then I thought maybe Higgin accidentally threw up or peed on my bed. So, since Joey went to the beach house to set up some things, I decided to sleep in his bed and wash everything the next day. When I got in Joey's bed everything smelled so good. But after about a half hour things started to smell again. Then I decided it was me! Must have been the cauliflower and broccoli soup. LOL!

Kathy Sis, Great job on X10 Low impact. Congratulations on your last time with PT. I know you are not ready, but you are progressing forward. Good Luck, I know you'll do just fine. Yep planning on taking notes is a good idea. The little peoples house is awesome.

Take care,

Janie

Sorry I've been missing. Last week after my 2nd X10 workout my foot started acting up and then I wore heeled boots and that really made my foot mad. Things have been busy and I've been trying to give my foot a break so there's been floor work and arms happening here and there. Nothing major though and I hope I'll be back to normal soon. I'm guessing I sprained it when I fell, boo!

Janie - That bread looks really good! You get used to the texture differences pretty quickly and will eventually even like them :) that's so hilarious about the soup making you smell, thanks for the giggle!

Kathy - New sneakers are always exciting, I hope they help you out!

Cindy

This sprain is really getting to me. No cardio for me today, again. Got the icream/yogurt maker. Looks like I have to use a lot of fat to make ice cream. Hmmm, will use other ingredients and we will see how it turns out. If it doesn't then I will have lots of healthy smoothies. LOL

Cindy, Seems we both have a similar injury. Hope yours get better soon.

Take care,

Janie

I've been missing due to workload. Last pt session was brutal but good. I'll have to use my tubing instead of dbs for a while. She gave me exercises to do w/the band for my shoulder. Last night I did Rapid Fire #1 shadow boxing only. I ordered Susan Chung's new Rapid Fire #4 SWEAT. Can't wait to receive it. I'm also ordering Kelly Coffey Meyer's new one tomorrow Shape Up. Its a Tabata + weights dvd.

I'm not feeling well today. It seems I'm coming down with a sinus infection. Weather has been in the low 30's & then back up to 59. Throat is scratchy & legs are hurting. Not a good sign. No workout for me tonight.

Cindy & Janie Sis: Both of your feet are injured. I feel terrible for both of you. Cindy at least your able to do some upper body work. There's nothing else you can do but rest it. Janie the bread looks awesome. I love bread. I usually have to substitute the flour & use instead brown rice flour. Both of you get better soon.

Take care,
Kathy

If I do anymore exercises that involve my foot, I'll never heal it. Can't do legs yet until the sprain heals. All I'm doing is aggravating it. So no more legs for awhile. Darn! Well I have the upper body I can do. This can take a while.

Kathy Sis, Grest job on Rapid Fire 1 shadow boxing. How fun! The DVD's you ordered look good. Enjoy! So sad to see you are not feeling well. Oh no! A sinus infection doesn't sound good at all. Do take care. Poor thing, hugs.

Take care of yourself sissy,

Janie

Hi Ladies! I've been MIA because that darn cold I was trying to push through turned into Bronchitis and the DR said I better go home and get into bed for at least 4 days or next step would be pneumonia and hospital!:confused::(

So I did what he ordered and took my antibiotics and I am feeling Better! YAY!

Yesterday I checked out Great Glutes and took time to learn the combos in Rocking Step 1 without the end where she puts it all together. I would do a combo and then do a section of the glutes and back and forth like that, which turned out to be a really long but great workout! I am definitely tight in my hammier and glutes today!

Today I did clean max which feels great to have a clean house now! And I just did Rocking Setp 1 all the way through without letting myself rewind. I didn't get every combo down pat but it was a fun step routine and I am so happy to have it the arsenal, My knees were a little sore and tweaky but step is so much fun!

Has any one dow the Greatest Hits Vol 1 Step DVD yet?

Looks like I am not the only one that has been under the weather!~

Kathy take care you don't want to get sick like I did by trying to push through! It's so hard to know where that line is sometime!

Janie: oh no another injury!? REST and RELAX and RECOVER

Cindy: sounds like your down too???]

Michelle; your made of steel you never seem to get injured or sick! What's your secret?

Hi Ladies!

I felt much better yesterday. Saturday I decided to do Kelly Coffey Meyer's rotation for 2 weeks. Muscle Definition workout #1 which is all upper body. Not an easy workout. Today supposed to be kickboxing but I've done KCM's kbing so many times I'll do instead Amy Bento Ross's Body Box All Cardio premix. Love this one!

Janie Sis: Please take it easy w/that foot of yours. You need to elevate the foot. Did you ice it? Get better soon. <<<<<HUGS>>>>>

Cindy: You too recover soon.

Laura: Having a sinus infection is awful. I know. Don't do too much too soon. I'm mostly doing low impact. When I used to push myself hard I would come down with a sinus infection that would put me out for a week. I found by taking it down I would avoid the infection. Glad your feeling much better now. I haven't even attempted PRS #1 yet. I think I'm too scared. You must be very good at picking up choreo easily. Great job!

Waves to Michelle!

Take care,
Kathy

Nothing like the onset of the holidays to get things busy and the germs floating around. Knock on wood, we are healthy here, but it seems like every command I work for wants to jam as much work in as possible between now and Thanksgiving. So, I've been busy. So busy, that I missed exercising on Wednesday and Thursday this past week because I was up and out earlier than usual. Of course, we have at least gotten Ripken's walks in. I try hard not to let my work schedule mess up his walks; he loves them so much and quite frankly so do I.

I hope everyone is taking care of their illnesses, bumps, bruises, and sprains. I'm still scaling back my workouts and it really is making a difference. So let's just stay positive, do what we can and we'll get through this month together!

Hi Guys,

I had a great day with the girls today during their professional photos for the Nutcracker I got some nice candid shoots on my iPhone. I have spent all weekend pretty much chauffeuring them back and for rehearsals. It's ramping up to the big show!

Tonight while dinner was cooking (pork loin, sweet potato and asparagus) I tried The Greatest Hits!:eek: It should be called the hardest combos possible back to back! It was long and tough with no breakdowns so you would benefit from knowing the other workouts pretty well. It was good though. I can't say it flowed seemly but it sure made me think about getting downloads to use her workout blender. Especially after my workout weaving Rocking Step one and Great Glutes together, the workout variation would be endless!

Michelle
Glad you are hanging in there health wise! Hope work settles down. Have you started decorating for Christmas. Me and the girls are going to my brothers with my mom in Nashville so we aren't going to do a tree but will put out some decorations after Thanksgiving.

About 26 years ago, joey got into an accident while riding a motorcycle. He had to use crutches. I'm now using his crutches form that era. Pretty cool, he never gives things up. Anyhoo, doing so makes my foot feel a little better. I use it as often as I can. Sure hurts the underarms though. LOL Thinking I need more of a foundation in my workouts, I decided to purchase Travis Elliot's "The Ultimate Yogi (12 disc set) $109.99, but got it on Amazon from a 2nd party for $59.94 new. Planning on using them on the days between weight days. As soon as my foot is up to it. Most likely after Thanksgiving or so...

Laura
, OMG! Please stay in bed and get better! You poor thing! So glad the antibiotics are making you feel better. Shouldn't you be resting? Still, great job on Great on the combo of Great Glutes in Rocking Step 1. Also great job on cleanmax. I need to do a round of that too. But will wait, I want to heal my sprained foot. Also great job on today's Rocking Step 1 all the way through. Whew!

Kathy Sis, I tried to elevate the foot, but do you realize how hard to do that? I am icing it every night while watching TV and started today using the crutch as much as I can stand. So glad you are feeling better. Great job on on Sat. Kelly Coffey, upper body. And for today's Amy Bento Ross's Body Box All Cardio premix. Good going! Thank you for the hugs, I needed them.

Michelle
, Oh yes, the hard work needing to be done in-between Holidays. Life in the working force does sometimes get in the way of our private lives. Don't worry, you'll catch up on the exercises. Great job on walking our Ripken. Those are good times and necessary as you say. Good to see the scaling back exercises are making a difference.

Laura
, Aw, when the photos come back, please post them so we can see your girls. I bet they are becoming beautiful young ladies. OOOOO yum, love your dinner. Great job on the Rocking Step 1 and Greatest Hits hardest combos back to back. Wow! You are good. High 5!

Take care ladies,

Janie

Activity is still low for me, my foot is doing better (less twinges here and there) but I'm not sure it's 100% yet. I'm going to see how the next few days go and stick with floor Pilates and arms workouts until I brave an easy workout. It's so frustrating but I don't want to jump the gun!

I hope we're all feeling 100% soon!

Cindy

A little late doing my exercises but did Meso disc 4 chest, shoulders and biceps.

Cindy, Hoping for a fast recovery for you with your hurt foot. I think Pilates and arm workouts are good. Wise not to jump the gun. Slow and easy with coming back from an injury.

Take care, I know what you are going through,

Janie
