Getting Our Licks In!

Happy New Year's Eve everyone.

Ripken has been sticking pretty close to me since I got home. Guess he missed his mommy. This morning I opted to do a 40 minute stretch (stretches 1 and 2 from Stretch Max) and Ripken was puppy on the spot the whole time. He got his licks in for about the first 30 minutes and then just stayed right next to me. I wasn't really sweaty from the stretch but I definitely needed a shower by the time I was done with the workout.

Cleaned some items out of the closet and headed out to run some errands: took a book back to the library, put gas in Joe's SUV, took the plastic recycling to the dropoff at the Giant grocery store, made my end of year clothing donations to Goodwill, and then did a little shopping for new workout clothesat Kohls. Boy it was super busy out there today. The donation line at Goodwill was crazy long as was the line at the car wash. I ended up bypassing the car line for the Goodwill donations, parked, and walked my donations back to the donation center. Much faster. The carwash will have to wait until next week. THAT was just too much of a wait. Oh yeah, the temps are in the 50s here today, so of course, everyone wants to wash their car.

Next on my list is bringing up the storage boxes for the Christmas decorations which I will take down tomorrow.

Michele Z: Janie is our great recruiter. I'm glad she talked you into joining us. I checked out your web sites yesterday. Love the puppy web site. Is that something you have to pay a fee to maintain? I've always wondered how that works. Sorry to hear that you feel like you are coming down with something. Rest up and hopefully you can ward off the bug.

Shadowpup: you have taken multi-tasking to a whole new level. I'm glad Clara wasn't hurt. Did she get all her college applications done? Now the great wait begins for her. So exciting.

Hope everyone enjoys this New Year's Eve. Have fun and be safe.
Michelle

Michelle - gee, I got tired just reading your post!:p

Grady's blog part of the website is a standard wordpress website - wordpress is free and it does all the stuff for you - it is extremely easy to post blogs, pictures, etc. The domain is $10 a year to keep registered and the hosting of the website costs $6.95 a month - the hosting part is renting server space so we have someplace to store the photos, etc. that are on the website.

I rested today and I hope I can do Body Max 2 tomorrow. I gave my little man a shower - he looks so nice . He is such a sweetheart that he literally walks into the shower when I call him and tell him it is time for a shower. He doesn't really like getting a shower but he trusts me and wants to do what I ask.

Ripken is BEAUTIFUL.

Hi all,

Finally getting back to the computer! It is good to see so many of us logged in and posting :)

Michelle, you are having a classic New Year's and that's for sure! What a good example you set: Donating, recycling, returning, undecorating, and doing something nice for your body :) Ripkin naturally missed his mom - and it's good that he got his licks in while he could. Nice of you to pick a stretchy dvd to give him a chance!

Clara got quite a few applications in. We are encouraging her also to look at four year colleges, even though it doesn't seem that they will be affordable. One never knows ... and this way, she'll know which ones are good transfer targets. SAT scores should arrive soon and we will know better at that point. A year at a community or junior college seems in her immediate future and she has been accepted by a couple of them. She is rethinking her major, too. Part of that is not wanting to leave home ... and part is that her original career choice didn't seem to be based on her real strengths and personal goals. It was just something she thought she wanted. It's really fun to watch her growing up, making that transition from kid to young adult. I'm very proud of the way she handled herself after the accident. We met with her parents briefly today and I'm also really hopeful that overall good will come of this for her relationship with them. Wish everyone luck!

Michele Z, Hope you continue to beat the colds! This is a bad time of year for them. Will have to check out Grady's site. Body Max 2- that's a toughie!

Janie, you are correct! I am absolutely loving this Trek desk. It makes me far happier about my discretionary internet use. Such a nice way to add activity while not having to cut out anything else! BTW, I'm really proud of you for how well you've managed the neighbor dog situation. Looking back at those older posts, you were (rightfully) nervous and angry, but now see where you are! You have a semi-adopted new buddy and your Joey has gotten a pal out of it. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade. May all of your 2011 adventures turn out as well :)

On using the Trek Desk, sounds like most people tend to alternate between using it and not. I'm finding that there are some activities that fit it very well. Typing this blog entry, for instance, and handling email in general - that's working well. I can walk slightly faster when reading my kindle than when typing (by a tenth of a mile). It seemed a little funny when I did a phonecall with family, and it may take me a bit to get into a mode where I can handle a tricky business call while in motion. I have my treadmill set at a ten percent grade so possibly the business calls need to slow down to 1mph. So far I am working my way up to longer stints and checking out new activities. 45 minutes is the longest too date - and I kept my sit-down desk in this home office also. It will be tough to use my onsite work office and hotel rooms with my home office coming together so well!

Shoegal, Laura, Renee, I needed to put you on another post! I'm still not positive I won't hit a wrong key while typing/walking, and lose everything :eek::eek:

Shoegal, You are always so good at choreography - Rebecca Small must be really tough. Do you think that sometimes people exaggerate a little or have different standards for measuring how well they are catching on? When I say I'm 'catching on' it basically means I'm not falling off the step in dangerous ways, mostly seem to be able to think about what the instructor is cueing, and so on. In your case, I suspect that poise and grace and accuracy are part of your criteria! Well, you got that Amy Bento in a couple of tries so hopefully this one will come along as well. Looks like she has lots of different dvds, too, so there's something for Valentines Day, perhaps :D

Renee, do they ever do video clips of your karate events? It would be fun to see that - it does sound like you've really hit the right niche. Loved karate and jujitsu when I took them, for the precision and discipline, but not the competitive part of tournament style. You're really excelling and it's fun to get the vicarious thrill of hearing about each new belt! BTW, you will laugh at me. The cat who owns me - Rapscallion Pandemonium - has been losing hair on her back. It looks to me like she grooms it out when I'm travelling too much. However, after a month of seeing the patch get bigger, we went to the vet just to be sure. Fifty dollars later the vet told me that yep, I have a healthy kitty who is just plain mad that her person travels too much, and that my options are (a) stop stressing her out by leaving, or (b) Prozac. No kidding. Hopefully my colleagues will follow through on our mutual promise that my trips can be kept to fewer per month, or maybe when Rapper can get outside again she will be able to work her anxiety off in ways besides pulling out her hair. I *do not* intend to give her drugs, unless things become desperate - apparently some cats get to the stage where they are drawing blood and getting infections :(:(:( Well, at least I'm home another week.

Hi to Laura - bet you are having fun with the girls, and entertaining! Hope so.

Happy New Years to each and every one. May we each become strong, fit, happy, and healthy in every physical/mental/financial/professional way, in 2011!

Happy New Year!!!

I just caught up on all the posts! Sorry I haven't been able to post in a few days, but we have been busy with my Brother & his family who arrived on the 26th. We went skiing on the 26th, but had a frustrating day, it was our first time out & Bo had to work in the morning so I had to get all the gear together, & the girls organized so of course it took way longer than I thought it would, we finally get to the mountain @ noon & then the resort was having problems with their computer programs & their records were saying that our family pass had expired.... Anyway they finally comped us some day passes but by then it was 1 then we had to rent skis for the girls which took more time, all the while my phone isn't working at the mountain so can't connect with Bo.... Finally we get on the slopes and Sophia's boots were killing her, the mountain was all skied up and the temperature was dropping! So after all that we only got one run in! Bo took the girls to Boulder and got them set up with new gear and I went to a friends house to set up my X-mas present my new IPad!!

Monday we went skiing again with myth better results although we were all getting our ski legs back underneath us & the girls had to get used too their new gear which is slightly more parabolic & a little longer than they are used to.

Tuesday I taught Pilates & then met my family & my brothers family for a ski day. I went out that evening with some friends to celebrate one if their birthdays. We had a great time, but I have to admit it is getting harder & harder to ski all day, go out late night partying & get up to do it again,

Wednesday was a grown up ski day. My brother & his wife are beginner intermediate skiers still learning telemark skiing so I spent a lot of time waiting for them or coaching them, still any day on the mountain is a good day in my book so I didn't mind. I still haven't had a day of skiing for me but I hope to get into a rhythm of having one day a week for myself & the mountain this month, I am happy to report that my legs are feeling strong from my ski conditioning class! Yeah! That evening I taught my total tone class.

Thursday we got a big snow store, with super cold conditions so my brother & his family could not make it up to our house as we had planned for snowshoeing & tobogganing. My kegs were sore from all that skiing so I chose to do KB again for my card! I did 4DS KB only, The punching combos from HC: Kick Max & from MMA: KB. It was a decent workout and not heavy on the legs!

Our plans are cancelled for the night due to the weather so it will be a quite night for us as a family, not a bad way to start off the new year!

Sorry for the long post but had to catch up!!

Sorry for all the typos! I am using my iPad and still getting used to the key pad & auto correcting spell check!

I just wanted to share that my daughter Eliza, the one who loves winter & is always excited about skiing & snow & has been disappointed by our lack of proper winter up to now, has had a difficult time on the mountain this year. She has frozen up a few times on the slopes, total mental blocks as she was easily skiing the exact same runs at the end of last year. Anyway it has been very interesting although hard at times for me to watch her struggle through her fear! She did make it through but instead of feeling elated by overcoming her fear she is feeling disappointed in herself for locking up in the first place. I am not sure how to help her see that she was actually able to move forward despite being frozen up with fear & that is an amazing thing!!

I just wrote this long personals & my daughter picked up my iPad while it was loading and started playing a game & I guess it interrupted the posting & it appears to have gotten lost!! UGH! So irritated especially my long post to shoe gal with more details about Christmas & the girls!

Ok so going to try the personals again....

Shadowpup: what a cool new toy! & if it means we get more of your time I love it!! It was me who asked you about the books/DVD's that you got last year about stretching and back care? It was by two men.....& also to ask you how often you use your TRX system.

Michelle: Misty is the cutest puppy ever! She looks like a stuffed animal come to life! She is definitely a mischievous teething puppy and she got a hold of a few Christmas ornaments! She likes to nip & jump so we are working on those kind of unwanted behaviors. I bet your pup was happy to see his mamma again. Misty did try to help me stretch after my workout yesterday by sitting on me!

Catchick: sounds like those videos are very instructive. Are they specific to the forms use are learning? Sounds like you are keeping up with your workouts. When do you go back to school? The girls start Monday which seems way to soon!

MicheleZ: welcome to the group! We might help you de-rust your brain by picking it! I would love to get down to 17% body fat!

Janie: a rebounder! How fun! Sounds like you & Joey are going strong through the holidays! Any trips coming up? And you made friends with one of the dogs that used to make you nervous! Good job!!

Elle: hope you have recovered!! How is it going getting back into the swing of things?

Shoegal: you had asked me several posts ago about what the girls got from Santa. I don't know if you remember that last year Sophia got a giant stuffed reindeer from Santa. So this year she asked Santa for a Reindeer Care Taking Kit! Poor Mommy was like "A WHAT????" so I ended up going to a Horse Tackle shop & told the cute young girl that worked there the whole story & she thought it was the cutest thing she had ever heard & was a big help running around the store helping me assemble the kit. We got a little bucket, a cute pink goat hair brush with a red heart on the bristles which turns out to be perfect for brushing the toy reindeer, a pink hoof pick, a red pony harness and purple sparkle hoof &tail glitter! Eliza didn't know what she wanted until she went to see Santa after The Nutcracker on Sunday the 19th. She ended up asking for a Toboggan. Santa brought her a beautiful all wood hand crafted 71 inch toboggan! She & her sister had a great time riding it all Christmas afternoon! I got an iPad, & some beautiful pearl earrings from my mom.

Happy New Year everyone. Had a busy day today. Ripken and I took our normal 2 mile walk this morning. It is very mild here and I had on way more layers than I needed so I was steadily taking off earmuffs, gloves, and my jacket through the walk. After breakfast, I took down the outdoor decorations. Got it done before it started sprinkling intermittently during the day. Then I tackled STS total body. Gosh--now my legs are killing me. I have to tell you all that Ripken was so cute at the end of the workout. I was laying face down, flat on the floor doing supermans and Ripken layed right beside me, put his paw over my back and rested his head on top of my back. Stayed that way until it was time to stretch at which point he relocated to the tile floor in the bathroom.

After working out and cleaning up, I took all the ornaments off the Christmas tree, boxed them up and stored them. Now all that is left is taking the tree apart and putting it in storage. I have to admit I'm a bit pooped out from all the activity today. It's nice to just sit and watch the bowl games. DH made a killer batch of black-eye peas for New Years. It has a bit of a kick to it because DH put scotch bonnets in the pot.

Laura: you have indeed been busy. That is interesting that Eliza is freezing up on the slopes. She's grown up skiing so I wonder if she is just becoming more aware of herself and her surroundings. Hopefully this is just a phase that will benefit her winter sport activities in the long run. Those ipads are nifty pieces of technology. I gave my dad's a try while I was visiting. I'm still holding out for the iphone for Verizon. Any month now, right?

Shadowpup: sounds like you need to stay home more this year. Your poor kitty cat. I've got to check on your new piece of equipment on line so I can get a better sense of what you are describing to us. Clara may find that she ends of getting her bachelors degree by taking one or two classes as at time while she works. It will definitely take longer than 4-years that way, but she shouldn't get discouraged. I've always believed where there's a will, there's a way. And you are right--one never knows about financial aid packages. She definitely should not limit herself.

So--do we want to start a new thread for our check-in for 2011? We will still keep our Getting Our Licks In name but just start a new thread or do we keep this one running. Everyone, please let me know what you want to do.

Happy New Year dear friends. May we all have a happy and healthy 2011.
Michelle

Happy New Year!

I started STS again today (3rd time around). It felt good, but boy oh boy, those endurance workouts get me! I'v been pretty lazy today, been watching a lot of football. I really have nothing of interest on my mind. School starts again, Monday. I'm ready for it, believe it or not.

Laura, your knees must have healed up pretty good! All that skiing and activity. Good for you! I loved the story about the reindeer kit, very cute.

Hope everyone has a great New Year! Keep on, keepin on!

~Renee

Hi all,

Happy New Year! I'm writing again from the Trek Desk, walking along at 1.5mph. That seems to be about perfect for our forum: slower, and it is awkward, faster, and I have trouble keeping focused on what I am doing.

We had one of the odder New Years Eves in my memory, mainly because of the weather. It has been consistently in the teens, and this is having quite an effect on our power. We've had a series of outages all week, some just a few minutes, and others ranging up to four or five hours. Last night was one the longest. We lost power about 4pm, and it came on again just before midnight. It's pretty dark out in the country! And, so as to help Clara keep her job while we resolve the car situation with her family, DH took off to do the shopping (and pick her up from work after). This left me by myself in the dark for three hours. Not so dark as it could have been: we lit lamps, had a nice wood stove burning, and there was the flashlight. AND, best of all, my KINDLE has a book light in the cover. I sat and read in an odd mixture of techie and primitive comforts. It also made our New Years Day pretty special because it has made us (a) absolutely grateful to have lights/water/electricity/cooking available at the flip of a switch, and (b) committed to buying a generator *this year*. I reworked the budget so as to fit that in as a priority.

Personals in a bit - I see lots of nice newsy notes from Laura, Renee, and Michelle!

Happy New Year !!

wow! WHAT HAPPENED TO 2010??? I can't believe it is over.

I did Cardio Core Circuit today which is becoming a favorite! I LOVE to HATE it! But I am getting better at it each time. It is a killer workout though! My knees are tender today though especially walking down stairs. I think it is all the jumping around with all the KB workouts and skiing...:(

I brought the girls down to Boulder to meet up with my Brother and his family and took them ice skating at the rink. They loved it! It is seriously cold out though but the girls had a blast and skated for 2 hours! Then we went to the book store and back to my mom's for Hopping Good Peas and to spend the night. It is in the - up the mountains and blowing wind, not much fun. Such a tease to get some great snow but with such terribly low temperatures and wind you can't enjoy it!! It is supposed to warm up starting tomorrow though!

Still didn't feel too hot today so rested most of the day but Deborah inspired me to start using my treadmill again while watching TV. I have done it in the past but always much faster and it sort of burned me out - pouring sweat and trying to watch TV. Today, I did a slow 1.5 miles per hour for a one mile walk - not much but I wanted to take it easy. My goal is to get in 2-3 miles per day while watching TV. We always watch TV in the evenings for 2-3 hours so it shouldn't be a problem getting the mileage in. Just need to build up to it as I am not use to walking for that long. I want to do this in addition to my Cathe workouts. Also, I won't feel lazy while watching TV :p. Every little bit of activity counts. Grady even got in a mile on the treadmill today - of course, his pace was much faster than mine ;).

I am at my mom's and will head back up to the mountains soon. I am thinking I will take the day off, as my knees were pretty tender on the stairs yesterday, and I have pretty intense workout schedule from Monday through Thursday.

I think we should start a new thread for 2011 with the same name. It is just getting to be a looonnnngggg thread.

Michelle: yes low impact activity can be really nice and burn calories while you would otherwise not be can't be a bad thing can it? Ripken might get jealous though! You should have seen Misty yesterday! She was so intrigued by my jumping around to Cardio Core Circuit and insisted on getting on my mat every cycle of cardio! She got some good licks in on the stretch as I was drenched! I have some photos of her that I will try and load so you can see...

Shadowpup: the weather has been extreme here as well swing from abnormally high temperatures to extremely low temperatures, it seems very unstable and I wonder how the plants and animals are doing with it! Being a solar home we have a back up generator but sometimes in extremely cold temperatures it won't start automatically. It went out on NYE and Bo reminded me of a cute story...we went to Turks and Caucos a couple of years ago and the entire island is run by giant generators. One evening the power went out at the house we were renting and Eliza immediately pipped up and said to everyone "Don't worry my Dad can fix it!" It was so cute!

Hi to everyone else!

Happy Sunday everyone. Ripken and I were lucky this morning--it is still pretty mild outside and the rain had subsided so we got a nice walkabout in.
After breakfast, I tackled taking down our artificial Christmas tree. Only took an hour this year and no swearing. Served as a good warmup to my workout. My entire body feels like it has been run over today (thank you Cathe and STS total body) so I opted for Body Fusion. It's been a while since I've don BF and I felt like a circuit workout so it provided something a little more low key but with the cardio and weights. Going to do another total body weight workout tomorrow--maybe powerhour (an oldie but a goodie).

Just having a low key day today.

Laura: I am definitely going to check out your Misty pictures once I finish my post. It sounds like you and Shadowpup are having similar weather. It's just no fun when it gets really cold and the wind is blowing.

Shadowpup: a generator sounds like a good idea. I'm surprised you guys don't already have one. And yes, when you live out in the country and the lights go out, it is really dark. I have a girlfriend who has been a city girl for years and she and her husband retired to the country in Virginia. One of the things she noticed immediately was that it got really dark at night with no street lights.

Michele Z: sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well. Good for you getting in a little walking though. Can you and Grady fit on the treadmill at the same time or does he prefer to walk alone? If the weather is not totally miserable, Ripken and I get in 2-3 miles walking everyday. We don't go very fast either, but our morning walk is always a good leg stretcher before my workout. Hang in there--you'll be feeling better before you know it.

Hi to Shoegal, Elle, Janie, and Sister.
~michelle

Rest day yesterday and today for us. Friday we didn't workout because I had a backache for some reason. It's better today, but man it was hurting there for awhile. Tomorrow, Joey will be pleased, doing TBS, Total Body Sculpting), LOL:D It will be easier on my back.

The big dark gray dog and Baby visited this morning and smelled Rolly through his guarded fence. Baby was very protective of me. I think she thinks she owns me. When the other dog got his treat and pet, she wouldn't allow him his pet, she nipped at him and barked, it seems, like a warning. I ignored that behavior. Scary:confused:! Why does she do that? I walked them to the end of the driveway to tell them to go home, but they wouldn't go. They followed me back home. Hmmmmm. What do I do now? They've been outside the door for an hour now, and it's 24 degrees outside. I'm sure they will go home soon. Baby is barking for my attention or to come inside the house, I'm ignoring that as well.:( sigh...

Joey is not sure of these dogs. Especially the gray one, but I still really like Baby. Joey says her unpredictability could go the other way and I might receive a nip (bite). I told him that I hoped he was wrong. He says it's a no win situation. Joey says to stop feeding them.:( I'll pet them when they comes over, but I have to agree not to feed them with treats any longer. sigh...

Michelle, Awe, animals definitely lets us know when we are missed. Great job on the two stretch workouts. You were so busy doing all those chores. I like Kohls too, but have to travel an hour to get to it. Great prices and worth it.

Deborah, You guys are amazing with Clara. Your caring and love will make her feel so worthy and happy. Building up self esteem is so very important in a persons life. Advising her to a college that will fit her lifestyle/dreams is important too. Amazing people you are! My buttons are bursting over here. She is so lucky to have you. Also you all know what you are doing for her education. My parents didn't no Jack about those things...just really nice to see Clara getting great advice.

I'm again having different problems now with the dogs. Any suggestions would help me. sigh...I want to get along, I'm hoping not giving them treats will be that simple.

I'm so glad you have the Trek Desk, otherwise I don't hear from you often, and I miss that. Great job on 45 min. of it.

Laura, Sorry to hear about your mountain experience. I know how frustrating that can be. So glad those things don't happen all the time. ((hugs to ya)). Glad to see you skiing everyday there for awhile. Staying up late and doing that all day, I would imagine it would take a toll, but if you had fun, then it is worth it. BTW, still wish I could take classes from you.:) Great job on the 4DS KB only. I don't know how you do it. I'm so inspired!

Laura, Give Eliza lots of encouragement on her ski excursion as you are doing. She was amazing doing something in fear and finishing it! Congratulate her for me will ya? I don't think she realizes how often people quit with fear, yet she didn't. Have to take my hat off to her. Yeah Eliza! Well done! Next time around, it won't be so scary, it gets better every time.

I do have fun on the mini trampoline. Doing it lots of times watching TV, in a gentle way. Great for balance too.

Michelle, Kinda sad to take down all those decorations? Great job on STS Total Body. Awe, love the discription on Ripken laying his head on you. Now I have fluffies in my heart. What are scotch bonnets? Sounds like a mean pot of beans. Yummmmy:p

Yes, lets start a new thread. Will you do the honors please? We can watch out for it. New Year, New Thread, sounds good to me.

Renee, STS again, good for you! Ya, I'm ready to start living the new year too. It's been fun during the holidays, but now reality.:)

Deborah
, What a great way to spend time on the Trek Desk. That is so cool:cool:. OMG! I don't envy you at all with electrical outages. You must be freezing to death! I'm glad you are committed to buy a generator. We too sometimes have power outages, and our generator saves up all the time. Please get one ASAP, I think we may have a long Winter. Would like to think you are safe and warm. How did the animals fair?

Laura, Great job on Cardio Core. LOL "Love To Hate It", I know what you mean. Do me a favor and favor your knees today. They worked really hard all week long.;) O my! Ice skating! Will you become my mother in the next life? How fun! I bet your girls enjoyed it. In the (-'s), ooooh stay warm and safe.

MicheleZ
, Great job on the treadmill watching TV. If you were pouring sweat, then you must have gone all out. Stay healthy and rest K? At least until you get more back to normal. This is the mother talking inside me. (sorry:rolleyes:). I can see going 1.5 mph is much better today for ya while you are sick. Good for you. Your goal is a good one, 2-3 miles per day and watching TV. How cool:cool: is that? Love your plan with the treadmill and working Cathe into it. Congratulations for Grady on the treadmill. I've tried to teach Rolly on it, but he's frightened. Any suggestions? I need to get him some exercise while the weather is not so good outside.

Laura, I'm interested, I'll go over there now to see Misty. Awe, Misty is beautiful! What a doll baby.

Have a great day everyone, stay safe, warm and happy.

Janie

It took me an awful long long time to read all the posts. Nice to see so much activity on here. Too many parties for me but had a lovely time during the weekend. I think DH and I are ready for all this to come to an end. I am actually getting ready to take down all of my decorations - if you can believe it. I asked Rex what he thought - and said - no - he wanted to get more containers first so he can set up a better way to store everything than cardboard boxes.

My big news is that Rex and I picked up a new foster. Her name is Krista and she has an undocked tail. She is a white GSP with brown patches - just like Dot - and quite pretty. We are told that she is about 5 yrs old and is in heat right now - and was found in the mountains of central PA. The shelter had her about a week when we picked her up. She is so thin - and does not seem to be house broken - so this poses a bit of a problem. She is excellent in the crate though - doesn't make a sound. We have only had her a day but my impression is that she is a sweetheart. I can't wait to learn more about her.

Unfortunately, I have to go - will be back for personals a little later.

Happy Monday everyone! I am feeling better today so will def. workout.

Janie - not too many tips on getting your dog to do the treadmill. Our GSD Zorc would get on but it frightened him too. I tried tips I found on the internet but it didn't help much. I started Grady as a puppy with those same tips and he now loves it. I think the difference between Zorc and Grady is that Zorc was not a puppy so it made it much harder.

Michelle - nope Grady and I won't fit on the treadmill at the same time. Also, he goes a hell of a lot faster than I can :p. His trotting pace is faster than I care to go so even if we both could get on it still wouldn't work. I use to take Grady for 2-3 mile walks when the weather was nicer but it wasn't really giving either of us a workout because I don't run so I decided to start doing Cathe in order to get myself a workout. I have Grady do treadmill for a mile and I play an hour of chuck-it with him for his workout - HE LOVES to fetch the ball and gets a load of exercise from it because he runs fast to get the ball and runs fast to bring it back. The chuck-it really throws the ball far.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I've missed a lot since i last checked in but i'm finally all caught up on reading all of your posts.

It was a green Christmas here in Toronto and on New Years Eve the temperature was 6 degrees Celsius which felt like spring. It's getting cold again but we still don't have any snow.

MicheleZ: Welcome! I look forward to getting to know you. Your dogs are really cute!

I think starting a new thread for 2011 is a good idea. I checked but didn't see a new one up yet.

My staycation is coming to an end and i have to go back to work tomorrow.:( I have enjoyed the time off and feel well rested.

Yesterday i did a Shiva Rea DVD. It was challenging but relaxing at the same time.:D

One of my Christmas gifts was a Sony EReader which I'm loving! I've been doing a lot of reading since I've had the time.
