Getting Our Licks In!

Did Kick, Punch, and Crunch this morning. THAT was fun. Cathe's rotation had MMA Fusion for today but I haven't previewed that one yet and I have been missing the tried and true Cathe workouts, so I went with KPC. It's a long one but it goes by so fast. Ripken stayed "with me" through the whole workout which means he sat right within no-kick distance and watched me. My accomplishment for today: getting through all the roll-ins and inverted pikes on the stability ball. The last couple of pikes weren't pretty, but I exhaled and pulled up with all that I had.:)

Sister: what did you do today? Did you go with Fusion or do something else?

Laura: enjoy your time with your family.

Shoegal: no big plans for this Easter holiday. Maybe just taking it easy and enjoying the day. It will depend on how much DH and I get done on our "to do" list on Saturday. I want to wash the window screens and the outside of the windows, clean the porch furniture and spray the winter dust off the front porch. I'm not sure what DH wants to do so it remains to be seen what actually gets done. I do know that DH plans to make prime rib. YUMMY.

The president's challenge....

I almost forgot: Shadowpup, I tried to register but I need the password for our group. Please send to us via the private message option on the Cathe Nation or send to my home email which you have now or can find on facebook.

Thanks!
Michelle

Today I stuck with the rotation...MMA: Fusion. It goes by soooo fast! Getting better at combo/drill #2. I watched it earlier in the day, and it helped. The turtle shell turns are fun. Well, the whole thing is for that matter!

Had the first rehearsal to First Grade play "Lemonade". It went surprisingly well. Most of the kids knew their one line and of course the songs were fabulous if I do say so myself.
I like good starts. Hopefully it will stay the course.

Easter...and Spring break, right around the corner. A co-worker of mine invited me to her non-denominational church. I am actually thinking seriously that I might go. Have been burned by the "church thing" before...politics and all. The church doesn't much interest me much anymore. Too many two faced goody two-shoes. I'd rather be spiritual in my own way, be a good person, and walk the walk without the "noise and talk."

3 more days and then a wonderful week off. Yippee!

Feeling great, how 'bout you?

Our modem died and haven't been able to post. Now I need to catch up reading the personals and will join you later. I'm so behind on the President thing. Don't know how to get there, pass words... I missed a lot.

I couldn't believe the void of not connecting with people. I got a lot of housework and sewing done though.

We decided to start working out with weights and cardio after my birthday tomorrow and after Friday, since Joey will be getting his stitches out then. A couple of my sisters are coming over from East of the mountains to feed Joey and I at our favorite restaurant tomorrow. Then come back to my house to talk and catch up, most likely watch a movie too. Friday, Joey gets his stitches out and Saturday would be a good time to start with a full body workout. Most likely The Firm Vol. 1, Susan Harris. We love her still.

Take care,

Janie

Crazy day.

Last night I did MIS - It was such an unusual choice for me because I had intended to finish up 1RM testing but DH was on the computer when I began and I didn't want to kick him off. I wanted to do a strength workout so I was looking at PH - then decided against it -and MIC was on the same DVD - so I did it. Not sure how many times I've done this one - it wasn't new for me - but I don't really pull it out as often as others. Not sure what I'll do tonight.

I have to go - need to finish up more stuff - so today it is a short, short post.

One thing though - DH is going to Italy - Milan specifically for work. I'm thrilled for him - sad for myself - I've had zero traveling opportunities and he is getting around!! I am hoping for an expensive pair of Italian shoes out of this - but he seems rather unwilling.

Hope everyone has had a great day!!

Janie - I love Susan Harris still too. That is always a good one.
I'll get in My Happy Birthdays now a day early. Hope you have a wonderful wonderful day!!!! Are you going to do something special - or just spend it with your Joey?

Where is everybody?

I did IMAX 3 last night - just the first 5 intervals ( a premix). Wow - great workout - it was a lot of fun.

Today is April's Fool's Day - so don't get fooled!!! :D;)

Happy Birthday again Janie - hope you have a very pleasant day.

Hello out there to everyone else - it must be a very busy week - for all of us. DH and I have decided to have a garage sale to get rid of some of the stuff we have - and hopefully make a little money to help with home repairs. We have set aside all day Saturday to prepare - and then the whole of next Saturday to prepare again. Apparantly, Rex feels this is going to take loads of time - days, in fact. So that is what I'll be doing. Then on to the Easter festivities on Sunday. I have prepared 3 scavenger hunts for my nephews and neices. I usually do this last minute because I don't intend to do it at all but my mother forces me to do it anyway the day of - so this time I'm preparing and having it ready so I don't have to rush. :p Hope everyone has a great holiday by the way. :D

Oh by the way - I'm all signed up for the Presidential challenge - I think I did that right.

Just checking in with myself to see how I'm doing. . . .:p;)

Everyone must be really super busy this Easter season. Well - I hope the day finds everyone well. It has been absolutely breathtaking here weather wise.

Did some more 1RM testing - still have some more to do. It is kind of frustrating - as I have said before - not to be able to find the exercises in the manual to see how they're rated. I decided to test for them anyway. The whole process has been a learning experience and frankly - a bit of a pain. There have been many times I pick up a weight I believe I can do 10 reps with - and do 10 more than that - so I have begun to choose heavy on most exercises to get a good number. Not sure now which exercises I have an accurate number for and which ones I don't but at least I have a guideline. Deadlifts - I don't think any number I have is a good one.

Well -it is Good Friday today - so I hope everyone has a good Friday :D and hopefully a wonderful Holiday. Happy Easter!!

HI everybody--yesterday was super busy. I had an early morning brief with my 3-star General yesterday morning and then a meeting in the afternoon that just wore out my brain. By the time I got home, I was so mentally drained, all I wanted to do was take Ripken for a walk. Didn't get to exercise yesterday, so will do that here in a bit.

The gorgeous weather continues here in Virginia. Sister has spring break next week and it looks like she is going to have a great week weatherwise.

Janie--I think I missed your birthday yesterday--Happy Birthday one day late. Today is sister and my mother's birthday. I left her present and card with sister when I was visiting last week.

Not a whole lot going on otherwise. Working at home today and then enjoying this weather. Maybe I'll wash my truck early this evening. Sounds exciting, huh?

Hugs to all my exercise buddies. BBL after exercise.

Nothing like sisters. We had a ball! We tried to out shock each other, and tease, hugs galore, and my O my, having sisters is wonderful. One of the very best birthdays ever! There were five of us altogether, can you imagine the unfortunate poor people around us that didn't mean to be there? But we did have fun. (a little evil look) We drew off each others energy and although we didn't have anything to drink, we felt drunk with all the teasing and laughing going on. It continued like that throughout the night. Even Joey had fun. How could he not?

Shoegal
, Great jobs on MIS, MIC, IMAX, 1RM Testing. Don't you just love talking back at yourself? LOL:) It happens, we really didn't abandon you.

Michelle, Looks like work is doing well for you. I'm always impressed with you talking to 3-star generals. (hugs your way).

Janie--sounds like you had a wonderful birthday celebration with Joey and your sisters. Yes, sisters are great.

So, I did Step Moves and the Cardio only premix from Cardio Blast. Step moves is a great favorite but following up with the premix from Cardio Blast really was a challenge. I felt like I needed a good challenge and that sure did the trick. Major Darth Vader breathing with that one. It wasn't a workout of beauty but I hung with Cathe and the crew the best I could. Now--where did I put my water?

~michelle

Hi all - you guessed it, I'm back from another trip ... a little early, just as I had to depart a day early to avoid weather problems. Nice to be home!

Sister and I just finished disc 34, chest and back. Whew, that felt good. And GUESS WHAT? We are going to be poised at 2 pm this Thursday to register for the Cathe Roadtrip. Wish us luck.

Now, time to change clothes and start washing windows. Oh boy.

Shadowpup: please email the password for our group on the President's Challenge. Can't register on our group without it.

Hope everyone else is having a nice Saturday.
~michelle

Deborah, Welocme back, hope you had a good travel this time. How was the trip? How are your many wonderful bulbs you planted? I bet it's just beautiful!

Michelle, Great job on your workouts. A road trip? I think it's envy time. LOL:)

Here's an updated picture of my Joey and me at our favorite restaurant during my birthday celebration, survival scars and wrinkles included. LOL

Happy birthday (belated), Janie! It sounds like you had a blast. Yes indeed, sisters are special :) I also like the matching smiles you and Joey have in that picture. What a neat couple :D Is that a birthday present on your finger?

I see I need to mail passwords or something to the group; I used a phrase with Ripkin in it to make it easier to remember. I'll send it to each of you individually in a bit.

Good morning and Happy Easter to everyone. Just wanted to post quickly before heading to the workout this morning. Ripken and I had a great walk this morning. We were early enough to see the neighbor kids having their Easter Egg Hunt. I love seeing our neighborhood children doing stuff like that with their parents. Such great memories for them.

Okay--enough procrastinating here. Time for the workout.
Be back later
~michelle

Happy belated birthday, Janie! And Happy Easter everybody!

I'm on Spring Break...a whole week off, and I'm loving it. Everything in Virginia is getting layered with green dust and its weaking havoc with my allergies, but I love it anyway. Little tiny leaves, flowers, green grass...green everything, but its great! And for the first time in years, its just beautiful during Spring Break. In the recent past years it has been cold and dreary, but not this time around. After such a snowy winter this is just what the doctor ordered...yippy!

Two more workouts to do with STS, then Michelle and I will be done. Today was Athletic Step and I found my groove by the mid-way point and was sad to finish up. I'm thinking about doing Insanity, though not doing Cathe for two months doesn't sound quite right. Perhaps I'll have to mix her in with it. I find the toughest workouts for me, is cardio based without equipment. I love step, so, we will see what happens. I'll do the active recovery week and then start doing some Cathe's I have missed doing while doing STS.

I also need the password for the presidential challenge thingy.

Hope everyone is doing okay in their world. Take care.

~Renee

Cardio core circuit was the exercise of choice this morning. By the fourth circuit, I started having that out of body experience that you get every once in a while with some of Cathe's routines. It's kind of strange, but I just keep going.

Going to move the furniture off the front porch and wash it down, then do the screens and windows, and clean the porch good. Got to get all that winter dirt cleaned up. Assuming I'm feeling energetic, I'll get the upstairs screens and windows done too otherwise, they will get cleaned next weekend.

Janie: beautiful picture of you and Joey. You two look like you were made for each other. How long have you been married?

Hi to Shoegal, Shadowpup, Laura, and sister.
Ripken sends licks and a Happy Easter huff-n-puff to everyone,
~michelle

Just popping in real quick to wish everyone a VERY HAPPY EASTER! So nice to be in the South East this time of year, it has always been my favorite time of year here and it lovely today, although the pollen is really getting me! Doubt I will get any exercise in today though!

Be back later to catch up and see what has been going on here...looks like Janie had a Birthday! HAPPY BELATED TO YOU! Hope you had a good one!

Hi all! I was just testing out the President Challenge, and I think that you can log in with the group id, and then use that id number I posted awhile back. Looks like Shoegal made it in!

The info for our group is:

Your Group Name :Getting Our Licks In!
Your Group ID Number: 89874

If you go to this link http://www.presidentschallenge.org/login/register_individual.aspx

... you should see a screen that lets you enter your personal information. About halfway down the first page it asks about the group. I found that our group name doesn't always work (maybe it is that ! at the end), but the group id number works fine. Then there's your name or id number, whichever you like. Shoegal stuck with 2.

Michelle, I tried to create an account for you but then got to that screen where it wanted me to attest to being "you" I just couldn't do it :) But I got all the way to the end, so this ought to work ...
