Hello everybody,
School and daily routines keep me busy and I'm afraid its gonna stay that way unitl mid-May. I'm not complaining, I like staying busy. I've kept busy with the exercise too. During my "active recovery" week, I've done lots of step and stretches. I feel pretty good and am ready to start meso 3 today. I am nursing a stupid cold, but this too will pass, and I'm not gonna let it slow me down.
Janie, what kind of protien drinks to you use/make? I was using Jay Robb, but have switched to Gold Standard Whey protein. On weight lifting days I will drink 2-3 protein drinks and on cardio days 1-2. This week I didn't have my protein drinks daily, just because, well, I don't know...just because. Sometimes I put some it in my oatmeal, but mostly I do a scoop with 8 ounces of water. Its been working for me and it doesn't taste bad at all. I use the chocolate and vanilla flavors the most but decided to try the variety pack of Gold Standard and like the chocolate, vanilla, mocha and mint chocolate the best. Don't care for the "fruity" flavors that much. French Vanilla is better then vanilla ice cream in my opinion. 4 grams of carbs and 25 grams of protein. YO sister, some do taste icky, some don't, you just gotta find one that suits your taste buds.
Ah, what we do for our diabetic kitties. I learned that you do what you have to, in order to make the cats quality of life the best. Do you check Winkles blood sugar. Had no clue a person could do that until after the second hypo episode. Found out you can use a human glucometer and prick the kitties ear for a blood sample. I think that helped my Noodles live a little longer. Where do you give shots? The scruff of the neck? Do you use the tent method? Noodles didn't mind his shots, he knew it would make he feel "better". Gosh, I miss that cat. He was and will always be my soul kitty. But I love the four I have now and am very blessed to have such a wonderful bunch of kitties to love and care for.
Make time to live...in the present. Nobody knows when their number is up. Do what you can, and what you can't do, don't sweat it. Family, love and happiness...that should be everyone's priority.
Happiness resides not in posessions and not in gold; the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul.
