Hi Debbie,

I was wondering what exactly you put on your protein drink, how many scoops do you use of the poswer? I mention to my husband I wanted to incorporate protein drinks to my diet, and he whent out and bought me a jar. The brand he bought at (Sprouts) MRM 100% all natural Whey, no artificial sweeteners no artificial flavors.

Calories: 87
Calories from fat 9
Total Fat 0g
Cholesterol 20mg
Sodiium 40mg
Potassium 110mg
Total Carbohydrates 1.5g
Dietary Fiber 0g
Sugars 1g
Protein: 18g

Does this look godd? Thks!

I use ON 100% Gold Standard chocolate protein powder. It has no artificial sweeteners or sugar in it. This is the breakdown:

130 calories
1.5 g. fat
24 g. protein
5 g. carbs

I put 1 cup of water with 1 cup frozen strawberries in it. Sometimes I use frozen blueberries, pineapples, banana's or I mix them up.

You probably should use two scoops of your when you drink it after you workouts.

Good morning Debbie,

I try the protein shake yesterday, I tell I felt like a little kid being force to take there medicine. The flavor was very good, I guesse I'm not a big shake person. What I've decided to do is only take it on my weight training days, because I really don't think I could do a shake back to back everyday. I wanted to ask you about carbs after weight training. Are you soppose also have carbs combine with your protein emmidiately after your weigh training days? I hope this doesn't get deleted. Do you have your own website running now? Thanks Debbie!

Lourdes

Wow, I can't believe you don't like protein shakes. Add frozen strawberries to them, that makes them much sweeter.

Yes, it is important to eat carbs right after your weight training workout. I have another protein shake w/frozen fruit which gives me the carbs and protein I need. Two hours later I eat oats w/BSN.

I have my website started but haven't had much time to put pics up yet. I'll get it done soon.

Duh! I'm such a dork! I always think of breads when I think of carbs, I forgot you get your carbs in fruits and vegetable too. Also do you ever get tired of drinking your protein shakes and try eating egg whites for your protein? I think drinking my protein shake before I work out is hard because I wake up extremely early, so the first thing I want is coffee and a piece of toast with a bit of penut butter. I will eventually take the protein shakes when weigh training before and after workout, I just have to take small steps. Thanks Debbie!

Watch what kind of breads you eat for carbs. 12 grain and whole wheat breads are the best. Ezekiel breads are the best but expensive. Stay away from any bread that has "enriched bleach" in the ingredients.

No, so far I haven't gotten tired of my shakes. I don't eat egg whites before or after my workouts but I do eat them. I'm a stickler with the protein shakes before and after workouts.

Oh, I still drink my cup of coffee as soon as I wake up as well. I can't start the day without coffee. And sometimes my preworkout meal (before weight training) is 1/4 c. raw oats in hot water mixed with BSN protein powder. I'll usually eat that before my workouts in the winter because it's too cold to drink a protein shake then. I still drink a protein shake afterwards, though.

About 2 weeks ago I started eating the Ezekiel bread, before that I use to do any 100% whole wheat. Now, would it be ok if I ate my peice of bread and still have my protein shake before my workout or is that a definetely no? Thanks Debbie!

I'm going to jump in here. This morning like right now I made a eggwhite oatmeal pancake and I put some peanut butter on it. Next time I should hold the peanut butter? I usually don't get to workout till about 10 or 11 when my 10 month old takes her morning nap.

Also I'm finishing up your muscle building and staying lean rotation. I loved it. My upper body is looking really good. My lower body still needs work but it looks better too. I just quit nursing a couple of weeks ago so I'm not going to be to hard on my self about the extra fat on my hips. Next week I'm going to start your Leg Blast rotation to work on that.

Hey Debbie! I figured out what I was doing wrong with the protein shake. I added to much ice! I'm drinking my protein shake and it's delicios! I added a cup of water, 2 scoops of powder, 3 fresh strawberries, tiny piece of bananas. Is the amount of strawberries ok should I do less more? Thanks Debbie, have a great day!

Lourdes

I usually do a cup of strawberries but if you are mixing banana's with it that should be fine. It's yummy, isn't it? Once you get the taste sweet enough you'll love them!

You have a great day too!

Hi Debbie and Everyone else,

I'm a former FIRM user and pretty new to both Cathe and the idea of rotations. I've been learning quite a bit thanks to the Search function.

I just started using PUB/PLB 4 days a week with 2 days of cardio. I own a few circuit workouts, and I just ordered Slow & Heavy and Gym Styles.

I was thinking of finishing 5 weeks of PUB/PLB and moving on to either Gym Styles or Slow & Heavy for 3 or 4 weeks.

I then thought maybe I'd create a cycle where I start out with a week of fun cardio (or active rest practicing yoga ~ something that's different but will allow me to rest after GS or S&H), move to a circuit rotation (like BootCamp), then to a slightly heavier muscle endurance rotation (ME or Pyramids?), and again finally finish with a heavy weight rotation (GS or S&H).

*At least 2 days of cardio will be mixed in with the weights-only days.*

As I said, I'm new to rotations, so I'd love to know what you guys think. If I have something backwards, feel free to set me straight! Thanks so much for your help. :)

Sorry for "barging" in, but I was wondering if you have your website up yet? Thought you mentioned you were getting close a while back.:p

Jacque,
I have started it but haven't had time to put pics out there or do an intro. As soon as I get some time to work on it and get it finished I'll let you all know.

Thanks for asking!

Good morning Debbie,

Hope your enjoying your time off! I don't know how you do it. I would be extremely stress out if I didn't workout out, and probably gain like 20 pounds. Anyways, My question is would I be ok to prepare my protein shake the night before? Like I said I wake up extremely early and turning on the blender at 2am would probably wake up my 3 year old. Thanks Debbie!

Lourdes

You can try it. I've never done that before so I have no idea what it will do. I'm thinking it will be all thick and nasty, though.

I need a week off every 8 weeks. My muscles demand it. And this time I'm taking time off of my dieting too. I'll probably gain a few pounds but I don't stress over it. It will come off as soon as I start back up again. :)

Hi Debbie,

I wanted to jump in and ask a few questions regarding supplements-

I just started drinking protein shakes that have L glutamine. I was already taking L glutamine- do I need to continue or stop since my protein shake already has it? Also, should I be taking BCAA's? If so when? Do you recommend any other supplements?

Thanks!

Nicole

Hi Nicole,
I also take L glutamine as well as what the protein shake has in it. It won't hurt you. It just helps the muscles recover a little quicker then they would on their own.

I take three BCAA's about a half hour before my workout and three right after. I believe this supplement is a must have.

The only other supplement I take is Glucosomine for my joints. They help a lot if you have sore knees or elbow.
