EWWWW..Don't drink from hotel room glasses!

OMG! That is just too gross!!! I end up in hotels about a month out of every year and I think I will definitely be bringing my own cups lol! The part about the glove was what ended it for me.

I saw this on a local news story about a month ago and believe me will never touch those glasses again. I usally carry my own anyway but still just the thought is disgusting.

I can't get to that site right now, but I can imagine

I read somewhere, and it makes sense, that THE most disgusting germ-ridden thing in a hotel room is the remote. Just think about it....yuk. I always carry wet-wipes!

Holy crap! Thank goodness I don't travel much! Thank you, Allison, for adding to my germ paranoia!

Other things I won't touch:

--supermarket cart handles
--elevator & escalator railings
--as little as possible at the gym, most especially towels left on benches I want to use--EWWWW! I always kick them off w/my foot.
--any kind of makeup samples in retail stores

I'm sure I can think of more but I'm a little tired right now.

One thing that Peter Greenberg (The Travel Detective and travel commentary on "The Today Show") suggests that you run hot water on the glasses for 3 minutes before you use them. This will "help" kill anything on them. Also, remove the bedspread off the bed as it most likely hasn't been cleaned in years. You don't want to know what could be on them.... Also, wear socks or slippers at all times when you walk in the hotel room for the same reasons.

Um. Ew.

I've always been a bit creeped out by hotels in general, and this just confirms that feeling. I ALWAYS prefer when the hotels give you individually-wrapped plastic cups instead of actual glasses. I know it's bad for the environment to fill up landfills with those plastic cups, but I don't trust those glasses one bit! And now I know why!!! x(

if you think that is gross, TV news did a thing on Meth rooms and you would be surprised at how many hotel rooms are contaminated from Meth users, it was so gross, I don't think I will ever use a hotel room again, rather use an RV for now on,

While I certainly will think twice about using hotel glasses I think if we really knew all of what was out there we'd never leave our homes...and wouldn't life be boring!

The Embassy Suites in the video (Alpharetta, GA) is near me. In fact, I drove by there last night. While I am NOT a germ-o-phobe, this practice is just wrong. I don't let the whole germ thing get to me. I'm a tough gal! ;) Still... the main thing is the deception involved with the cleaning of the glasses.

My family is booked at an Embassy Suites in Salt Lake City for the week of Christmas. You can bet I'll be checking out the glass situation now!
