Debbie- Sorry to hear that you have poison oak. I have some ideas to suggest that I know do help, Benedryl, Calamine lotion, and Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment (this really soothes and helps). I haven't tried the powerstrike one you mentioned. I love boxing and kickboxing so I bet that would be fun to try. I hope you feel better and get relief. I went to my doctor yesterday and yep, sure enough, I have poison ivy. It's bad too, spreading all over my arms, neck and some parts of my stomach. I look awful and hate being at work looking like this. He gave me steroids and some cream. Doesn't seem to be working... So the nurse was doing all the crap they usually do and she put that clip thing on my finger to get my heart rate reading. I had to laugh because the top number said 99, which I'm assuming is the average number for me (not sure on that) but the bottom number was reading my HR at 42-47 bpm, which is correct. My HR is usually that low when I'm just sitting down. She looked at it, looked at me and asked me if my nail polish was thick. I said, no that is my HR reading, it's correct. She said, does your doctor know? LOL! I said, yea of course. She told me that reading was way too low. Whatever, I feel great and can't imagine my hear needs to do much to keep me alive. LOL!!!

Today I did STS Total Body - Single Sets Premix - which was perfect for this morning. Pretty fun and well rounded workout. I need to do it more often,

Dumbbell Squats:
15's - 16 reps
BSS: 12's - 16 reps each leg
Power Barbell Deadlift: 25# - 16 reps

Wide Stance Deadlifts: 25# - 16 reps (could have gone heavier but didn't feel like changing the weights)

Skipped abs, although I really like those abs so hopefully I will have time to do them tomorrow.

Workout was 37 minutes, burned 211 calories. HR was 116/138.

Walked on my treadmill for 20 minutes, went 1 mile, burned an additional 118 calories and went 2445 steps. HR was 109/143.

Ice Low Impact Sweat TS #5 Workout plus Icy Core 2. Stepped on the scale this morning and my weight is still going up I just don’t understand guess I need to do double workouts

Today I did Cardio Coach 1 and had a great workout. I was a bit worried about getting hot and sweating, it seems to activate the poison ivy more, but it wasn't too bad and I took a cool shower afterwards. Had a really good workout.

Workout was 36 minutes, went 2.6 miles, burned 266 calories (TM said 351) and went 5173. HR was 128/191.

I also did the ab workout from STS Total Body. I like that one, it's fun.

This morning I did do another kickboxing workout from YT :) Burned off lots of calories and it was a lot of fun. I also did SBF mat workout. I didn't finished that one yesterday. Susanne had scheduled 2 workouts, wasn't in the mood to do 2.

No workout for me today, the poison ivy is spreading all over me. I was up until 2 a.m. and finally read online to put apple cider vinegar on it. It helped the itching and burned a little, but I welcomed the burn. Man, this is horrible. We found the poison ivy at my moms. I still don't understand how I got it so bad because I was riding on a lawn mower when I passed over it. It must have blown at me or I inhaled it or something. Horrible. It's everywhere on me and I itch so bad I can't stand it. I put the vinegar everywhere and that is helping.

I just finished the steroid pack and I'm taking Allegra for the itching, which isn't helping. I ordered poison ivy soap from Amazon that is made with jewelweed and I should get that tomorrow.

Hopefully I can do something tomorrow but this week will be play it by ear.

Nora - Benedryl makes me really tired, I don't like taking that. Thanks to you and Roxie for the tips, though. I sure hope this goes away soon.

My legs wanted to run but had some muscle tightness and I didn't want to push it so I backed off from doing 5 miles I did 4 instead.

Debbie- Sorry your poison oak is still an issue. I understand you don't like the sleepy effect from Benedryl, its fine for bedtime, but you may try the Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment, that works. My DH had hives a while back as a result from an allergy to Hemlock wood. We found the only thing that helped him find relief was the Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment. My DH is not a bath person, but he gave this a try and is a huge fan of this for any kind of itching sort of thing such as poison oak, chicken pocks, hives etc... Its not often my DH raves about something being awesome but he does this. In fact we make sure we have it on hand just in case. It comes in a box and inside they are individual little packets filled with powder you pour into a bath. I hope you feel better soon. Have a blessed day :):cool:;)

Hey ladies,

Had a doc appointment about my heal this morning. It's been bordering me for month. I think I mention it before that I think I had a heal spur. The pain in my left heal is getting worst. Got a shot last week in my right knee. I am falling apart.

We having really bad weather, at the moment we have Tornato warnings. About an hour ago we had quarter size hail. I thought it was going to break my windows. Brawler was so scared. I had to give him something to calm him down :(

I will be back tomorrow.

I did Ice Bootcamp Circuit TS#6. Busy day at work. I have noticed some swelling in my legs that I believe is water retention which explains the weight gain, I have a doctors appointment Wednesday.

Debbie-we have had a lot of people come in today looking for Ivarest for poison ivy.
 
I went back to see my doctor yesterday because this is getting really bad. The poison ivy outbreak on me now looks like I have a sunburn, bruises and blisters. She couldn't believe it when she seen me. She prescribed a higher dose of steroids and I certainly hope it does the trick. I can't stand it anymore, it's so uncomfortable.

Needless to say, no workout today.

Belinda - I feel you pain sista!!! I'm with ya!!! Hope you feel better with the knee and heal.

Roxie - I believe it, it seems like it is going to be bad this year.

STS M3 Week 3 D20 legs is done. I had to lower my weight a little, still got a great workout in.

Debbie - thank you! I had a lot of X-ray's done on both of my heals. We shall see. My doc wants me to see a a podiatrist. I need to make an appointment this week. I wished it would stop! Sorry to hear you are going through a lot this year too.

Roxie - nice job getting your workout in before work.

Once again, no workout. I seem to be slowly getting better, the bumps are less but the itching is horrible today. I'm hoping its a "healing" itch and not a "You're screwed lady, I ain't going no where" type itch. It feels different so hopefully it is getting better.

Nice job with your workouts everyone, I miss working out so much. I just got two of my new running magazines and I just want to get on the treadmill. Hopefully Monday I can start again.

I wanted to run so badly today but I did not because my hamstrings were super tight I didn't want to push and risk injury and even bigger set back. Oh and I have to go to see a Oral Surgeon Friday, about something on my gum, and I'm honestly nervous about this I hope this isn't anything scary or serious.
