Core Max

This is a great DVD. My favorite segment is the stability ball plus med ball. Everytime I do the no equipment segment, I erroneously think it is the easiest of the 3 then come the levitation holds (right at the beginning!) and the planks. I think that segment is the hardest, but a good challenge.

I use the premixes, but can´t really remember if I have a favorite.

My favorite is the stability ball workout too! I agree about the workout with no equipment. I go in to it thinking it's going to be easy! NOT!

I definetely prefer the stability ball and medicine ball segments over the floor segment. I've never done the premixes, though, so I can't comment on those.

I've never done the premixes either. Sec. 3 (med & stab ball) is my fave. Usually I'll do sec. 3 first, then follow it w/sec 2 (stab ball).

If I'm feeling really energetic, I'll do sec 3, then follow it w/the weighted abs section from B&G.

Not to ignore sec. 1. That's a flippin tough workout! :p

You can't go wrong with any of the workouts on Core Max--but I love the stability ball one. I use this DVD at least once a week, if not three times a week.

Have never done the premixes, though. Hmmm. Might be time to try that!

The stability ball one is my favorite (I think because it's easiest for me. :D)

I actually like the floor one, I just FF thru the levitation holds.

The med ball one is my least favorite and I can't really think of why that is.....hmmmmmm.

I like all of the segments but prefer segments 2 & 3. I did the tough core premix today and it is a nice mix of all 3. The premix starts with levitation holds. It was just under 18 minutes.

I can't even DOOOOO the levitation holds... wonder if I'll ever be able to

I love this ab workout it's very effective! I've done all the premixes and the 3 segments. I mix them up weekly. The hardest for me is the premix balance core I think its tougher then the tough core premix:confused:

I like section 2 and the Tough Core premix. The planks at the end of the Tough Core premix just kill me, but in a good way. Putting planks at the end of a tough ab workout is just plain mean. :D

I have had this since I bought my huge ol' lot of Cathe DVDs but have never done it. I always reach for Ab Hits instead. Tomorrow, I am going to get Core Max out and go through it over the next week because all of this talking about all it has to offer has me wanting to try it, and wondering why I never did! Thanks for the thread :)

My fave is segment #1, no equipment. Funny. Not too many other people mentioned this one ... guess I'll be one of the oddballs. :D

I like segment #3, but for some reason almost always do #1. I don't know why.

For the levitation holds, I recommend putting your hands on yoga bricks. It makes it much easier on the hands and wrists.

I borrowed Ab hits from someone, but I never liked it much. And I have a bunch of the workouts that the segments come from, so it didn't seem worth buying.

Tough Core Premix - 18 mins.

Mary re levitation holds - it took me a long time to get these but 2 things helped:

1. You have to get the right position with your hands so try different placement of your hands to see what might help;

2. I actually was able to do levitation holds after doing David Swenson's yoga. He did them in lotus position and that really helped me a lot. These are really tough and like Cathe says, even attempting to do them has value.

I just bought some yoga bricks tonight so I'm going to try doing them with those!!! Will it make the exercise a bit easier to do - or just easier on your hands and wrists?
