Bouncing babies and their mommas 3/28-4/3

Melanie-OMG the couch? I spent only a couple weeks on ours and I was dying! Good luck on the big show. Hopefully, being in the same bed works better for you than it does for us!

Jen-I just did a Insanity this morning, and yes, you should definitely wait until you can breath! That was such an incredibly tough workout...glad it was short.

Chrstine-Does John have those kinds of nights a lot?? I'd be a zombie. After reading your post, my night seemed like a piece of cake. Reese slept until 345, but onc she fell asleep an hourlater, caden was up crying. I really hope it's just his tooth and not a new trend.

Allison-great score on the shoes! Glad you got out of the house.

I tried that brocolli chowder, but I forgot who postedit. Susan I think? Delic! I made a couple changesbased on the ingredients I had on hand--red pepper instead of cayenne and dijon mustard instead of dried mustard. I'll be making that one again. Thanks for posting!

all for now. time to get to the park

sadly, yes, every other night is like that. i am wiped out today. i went for a 5 mile run and then did squeeze stronger. i am sore from insanity yesterday. i did pure cardio. which did you do lisa? it is insane! so much sweat, right? i can send you the heart rate monitor. it is good to use in these, i get in the 180s on those workouts... and no squats from me today!
jen- i agree with the union thing. i just feel that we could all be more united, you know? with times tough, people should be greatful they are employed!
allison- you must be an artist! i thought i was amazing sticking a lightning mcqueen candle on jimmys cake! hope you post pics!
just got home from target. 15 bags of stuff i really did not need. really. oh, and the chex mix attacked me at a stop light. grrrrrrrrr.

Hi ladies,
Do you let your babies on the floor already?? Mine will be 4 mo in a week and my sister is telling is about time to let him play on the ground so he get stronger??
Had no idea, she said he should be crawling aroung 6-7 months. Is that right? I asked at work and they all said yes. But Daniel doesn't roll ovey yet, he's close though. I tried last night and did not like to be on his belly for too long so he started crying HARD!

Christine, which insanity is the least insane to start with besides the fit test? I want to add 1 to my Push circuit today. Feeling so excited about working out since I took the day off yesterday

Lisa, how did you like Insanity?? Did you find it easy to modify? I have iffy knees right now.

Allison, great job on getting some ME time! I need to treat myself with some nice tops. I feel like I've been using the same clothes to go to work for the past months. I love pumpkin oatmeal, I add walnuts and pomegranate to mine and it's just delicious

Jen, Glad you're feeling better. Hey, do you like walnuts?? Add them to the pumpkin oatmeal. I also add cinnamon and it's awesome.

Susan, I hope you get your internet fixed ASAP!

Melanie, for some reason I thought you already had your big event. Silly me, You wouldn't hide that from us right? LOL

Oh well, keep you gals posted

Do not worry! John is the same age and hates tummy time too! Once they decide they want to roll over, they will! Jimmy was late on rolling over and hated tummy time but crawled and walled when ready. Do not stress at all.
As for insanity, they are all real tough but the ones for the first month of the rotation are much easier than the second. The second month rotation discs are higher intensity and about an hour.... I love all the an work he does, very pilates based and no crunches.... You may want to preview them.....

Christina-the HRM would be great now. I'll facebook you my address. I did plyometric something. It made me feel so out of shape, and I know that I'm not! It also showedmy how badly I need to kegal!!

Priscilla-I onlu modified the things that would havecaused major bladder leakage :). As long as I don't do too many workouts in a row (I won't be able to do the actual rotation), my body does ok. I'm already ticked at having to break from P90x due to hand pain, so I'd like to at least be able to keep pushingmy body with other things.
Floor time...I put Reese on the floor for just a few minutes a couple times a day. I call it her workout time (I sometimes even get on the floor and coach her :) ). As Christine said, I wouldn't worry about it.

Allison-I forgot to mention earlier--your cake ideas sound fantastic. There is no way I could do either! I did a very simple frog shaped cake last year and it nearly drove me to tears. Would love to see pics of the finished product.

DH is working tonight, so I'm REALLY hoping for angelic children tonight

lisa- yes, facebook me a message with your address. Yay! Plyo is hard, both the plyo dvds leave me struggling! Great job! I used to put in a pad whenever I did insanity, the moves do cause some "leakage"... Hee hee! Hpe that you have an easy night. I know that is so hard. I have solo night tomorrow while DH goes bowling.
Jimmy and I have not done well around each other today. He has been super defiant. NAyhow, right before nap he fell running up the stairs (which is a non no!) adn smashed his chin. Poor guy. I tried napping with him, but john is sleeping in itty bitty spurts and wakes him up each time he farts and cries. JOhn's gas can clear a room.
Jen glad you are getting better too. Insanity needs a rested adn healthy set of lungs! Hope you get to lift!
Melanie- I hope you are in bed tonight.
BBS, got to watch 90210 on tivo before jimmy gets up. :p

priscilla, one thing that helps us on tummy time. Fold up a small blanket to place under the upper chest of daniel, so he not not nose in the carpet. it will help him. really, you are looking for him to strengthen his neck. Since John hates the floor, and we cannot allow him on any floor that is not padded, becuase he can bruise, I lay on the couch with a pillow behind me and lay him on my chest. He will lift his head to look at me. Again, as babies grow, family members always have a lot of input that will make you question your way of doing things. You are mommy, you are doing great. Babies haev been crawling for hundreds of years and the phenomenon of tummy time is only a more recent phenomenon. I think the other reason people emphasize it, is to prevent a flat spot on the back of the head from lying down. Oh, you know what we use that he loves and totally helps him, The Bumbo chair! YEs, that will do it for yoU!

Hey bought new router still not working. Melanie got my OI and happy! Thank u so much! Sorry to be short. Typing on phone annoys me to no end! Miss u all! Be back asap!

Lots of tired mommies today! When Drew took his morning nap, I zonked out on the couch while Ella played Wii. Yep, I'm Mother of the Year material :)

Priscilla, Drew turned 6 months on 3/17. He didn't roll over until 3/5. Like Daniel, he hated tummy time. We would do it for 3 or 4 minutes at a time, a few times a day. I'd lay down on the floor with him, to try to engage him. We also started putting him in the Exercauser around 5 months, and that helped with the neck strength too.

Christine, 15 bags?!?! Sounds like a fun trip! Hope you get better sleep tonight.

Lisa, you're brave. After the Fit Test, I haven't tried anymore Insanity workouts LOL. But I did find the workout schedule online, if anyone wants me to post the link. I also found one for Chalean Extreme (same site).

Melanie, get a good night's sleep. Hope tomorrow is less taxing.

Susan, sorry to hear the computer problems persist.

Hi, Jen! Hope your sinuses are continuing to feel better :)

It's 9:15. Kids are in bed, and I'm finally off to eat dinner.

Allison- I know, 15 bags is silly! I like to stock up on laundry stuff, dish soap, diapers, etc so that I only buy them once in a while! And I always get attacked by the sudden need for mascara or new soap or lotion. I get home and put it all away and cannot account for the spending, since it is such mundane stuff!
Jen- Are you on the mend? Do you have tomorrow off?
Priscilla- Hope you are getting some rest, that commute sounds tough. I hated commuting. It made me tired.
Melanie- you better have slept in teh bed! Glad we will have you around today!
Lisa- Do the in laws come today?
Kendra- How are you doing?
John was a stinker last night. He wass up at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30. I have bags under my eyes. He wakes up farting, and since he is swaddled, I think he has a hard time pushign them out. But it seems he is also trying to get extra holding time. I went in and patted him for a while. And he is still eating at night. He is a tank. Oh well.
I made the barley pasta salad last night and added some zucchini and squash that I had, some scallions and basil and lemon zest, and also some pistachios. Jimmy said he likes barley better than rice! Yay! ANd the chicken cakes, always a hit!
Today is swimming, I am going to try running the kids there. Might be a disaster, but I need the miles.
Dh has stuck to the plan. He did 2 7 mile runs this week so far, and last night I had him do Squeeze upper body, Extreme Abs by Chalean, and 6 sets of 12 step ups on the high step using a 15 bound weight. He is going to see results fast i hope! I am really proud of him. IS it awful of me to say I am a little jealous because he will be in better shape than me soon?
Okay, john is screaming like a pteradactyl. Guess I shoudl feed him.
BBL. DH is bowling tonight, so i am going to try to organize a play date for Jimmy in the afternoon here.

My mojo is gone again. I"m supposed to run with my friend today, but I am BEAT. I definitely need to try to take a nap today. I"m contemplating canceling my run with my friend. :(

BBL

mel, cancel. get rest. being tired, you will hate it and you will get injured. rest.... i am doing NO exercise tomorrow!!!! also, i foung caffeinated electrolyte chews for long runs by clif. take today off, crawl in bed for a nap with the kids, pop on some movies. fuel your body with some protein and carbs. i have learned my lesson on exercising when beat, it sucks. feel better, my friend.

Hi ladies,

Well, I tried Insanitu pure cardio last night! I couldn't believe how much I was sweating. I felt the heat during the long stretches. Love it!

Christine, thanks for the tips. I did put a folded blanket under his chest and it seemed to help some but he can't stand it for too long. Then we moved to the bed and put my pillow under and of course he drooled all over it but he was able to stay there longer without fussing much.

Mel, I agree. Your body is just giving you the right signals. Do you workout early mornig on the days you have to work? I'm trying to have a plan B for this month since I'm driving far for few days.

Susan, sorry to hear your internet is not up and running yet. We miss you!

Allison, what is the Exercauser?

Lisa, I won't be doing the actual rotation for Insanity either. I read it's supposed to be 6 days a week and that may be a recipe for injury for my iffy knees.

Jen, I hope your are feeling great. Did you get STS done yesterday?

Back soon!

Precila~ Insanity is really tough on the knees; it is high intensity to the max!

Chrisine~ I canceled my run for this PM. I'm feeling a little better. I lost my cellphone in the house somewhere. Urgh. I tried (and failed) two naps, but am resting as much as possible. DH has decided to go fishing since I am not going for my run. Urgh, I could wring his neck sometimes!!!!

Susan~ miss you. HOpe you get your computer up and running soon. ;)

Jen~ are you feeling better?

Allsion~ cooking up a storm?

LisaMarie~ is this your last week of maternity leave?

My weight is slightly below 135 again, I wonder if that's contributing to my mojo loss? Urgh.

Hey ladies...Well apparently I have the immune system of a toddler because I caught the stomach bug and spent last night in the bathroom. Feeling better today, really weak and shaky now. But I've been able to hold down some toast, gatorade and chicken noodle soup. I felt like I was dying last night....so no workout. UGH!

BBL for personals, just wanted to know I was alive. :p

we are all falling apart! Get well mamas!
Mel- Does DH have a death wish? I cannot imagine how you ever get any down time, on your days off, you still have a houseful of work. he should have stayed home and given you an hour of quiet, or maybe some action! It makes the whoel world go round! Get your mojo! I lose mine under 135 too, why?

DH is extremely selffish when it comes to fishing. It's his passion, and I cannot compete with it. I cannot make him want to stay home with me & the kids and he does spend more time with the kids than many dads do. Oh well. *sigh*
I am feeling better,...but feeling very lazy. I'm trying to carb push today.

B: GoLean Kashi cereal, skim milk
S: steel cut oats, 1/2 banana
L: lentil beans, chix breast, Itailian veggies, choc milk
S: fiber one bar + diet pop
D: walleye (DH premade before he left), veggies
S: undecided

Darn it! I wish I knew where mycellpohone was!!! It's making me mad!:mad:

have you tried calling the cell phone? check laundry, under seat in car, purse. what did you do when you got home? i have found mine in the freezer, must have been putting away groceries!
