40's Junebugs

Feeling pretty lazy today...maybe my body is telling me something....

Anyways, my neck hurt wicked bad right at base of skull Friday, DS (both) seems concerned but yet probably think I'm a wimp since surgery was over 1 yr ago. I figured that I didn't keep track of where my head was when I was cleaning my sister's windows and putting together the pilates machine at her house. I'm sure lifting UB on Thurs night didn't help. I ended up fri afternoon, just laying in bed hoping for sleep to be away from 'it all'. I did succeed in a 2 hr nap I think. I've found sleeping on back may be problem, even with flat pillow so made sure when I was falling asleep while reading that I rolled to my side. friday night hit the valiuum for more relief. Sat took only a 2 mile dog walk and did 45 easy pilates. I was soooo tired, went to lay down and after 5 min of reading decided to roll over to see about sleep, slept for 3 hrs! I woke up thinking it was the next morning! I missed all my step/mile/calorie/very active mins goals on the fitbit and still went to bed early and slept another 7 hrs. sunday morn, neck feeling stiff (and Lisa getting frustrated), but not as bad, more normal like. Decided I just need a day off from everything. I did read on some forums that these sub-occtipital muscles are typical to be sore with forward head motions....lots of bike riders end up with more upright bars (another reason I don't use my spin bike). I sure hope this is better before the RT! I'm not good at limiting myself!

Jody, what the heck with work? Hope you find something more permanent soon! I'm having stand off with scale, i KNOW I need to crack down on my eating again. I'm putting it off until after KS trip (it should be this week as movers HAVE to have the stuff there by Thurs at the latest, but last word was they are still looking for loads to add it to going that way, will get back to us Monday, grrrr). I know I'll eat bad on a car trip.

Mary, that is frustarting and i know all about that! Hope it helps to moan here (it does me). Reading thru the mountain bike forums of people with this surgery I had, I'm more convinced to leave out the impact for life. Not worth risking my other discs as some on there have! Even on computer I can feel it---either need a better screen setup, or stay off computer...I'm opting for latter, good thing I'm not working

Good Evening,

Yesterday I did KCM's HGI and then went outside to run but it seems my muscle memory doesn't remember how to do that so it ended up being a walk instead and I did my planks then DH and I went to the lake it was really windy but we went anyway. There were some pretty bad storms in the middle of the night so I didn't sleep very well. Today DH, DD, her Fiance and his DS went to the lake cloudy most of the day and a little chilly.

Jody-I use the TM most of the time but know eventually I will need to take it outside.

Mary-always on the boat when we can.

Yard max, including stump removal, 5 bags of debris and branches from bird of paradise and palms. Half shift at work. Real workout tomorrow.

Hi all

Jody - that definitely counts as a real workout. Hope the hours pick up for you soon. At least, you've got time to workout and sort the house out! When I have quiet periods with my work, I try to keep myself busy doing jobs that I don't normally get around to doing.

Lisa - hope you're feeling better today. Take it easy!! All that sleep is because your body needs it.

Roxie - I don't even have a muscle memory for running - more like a muscle nightmare! ;)

Mary - wow, you're motoring along. Well done!

Had a nice weekend, tho there was some drama on Sat. DD got a high bar support pole dropped on her toe at gymnastics when they were putting up the equipment. She spent 4 hours in A&E but it's not broken just badly bruised! We all watched Finding Nemo together when she got back to cheer ourselves up!

Went for a lovely lunch yesterday, then had a nice walk around the bird reserve.

Pulled my new workout gear on today and did CCC. That certainly broke it in.

Good morning! Today did GS BS&B, also bike and my PT. 2 hours later.......I'm done! Til this evening! Jody, that sounds like more of a workout than a typical workout! Lisa, hope you are feeling better. Roxie, sounds like the whole family is enjoying that boat! Ronne, hope DD is feeling better. Long time waiting for you. Hi Murphy! Well, DH and his brother are trying out for the Amazing Race! So excited! We are going to Put-in-Bay on Thursday for the try outs! If they don't make it, we will still have a ball on the island. Just restaurants, bars, mopeds. Should be fun! Hope everyone has a good day, Mary

MARY OMG that would be so AWESOME!!! GOOD LUCK!
Ronne, yes, I'm glad to get some stuff done around the house for sure!
OK, bbl with work out. I'm cancelled again tonight but picked up a day shift on Wed.

I'm back later. I did IMAX2 1-5 PM and XT disc 2 Bi Tri and Core TS PM

Ronne, I hope dd is OK, glad nothing broken but I bet it still hurts! Nemo is a cute movie.
Roxie, I haven't run in ages, not on TM or outside.
Lisa, I want to lose wt, even before we signed up for road trip, but the rt is helping me to focus. How long will KS take? Will you lose Oatmeal then?

Good Evening,

Looks like only planks today I just don't have any energy, its really hot and windy here and I got to hot ended up with a headache.

Jody-good job with your workout.

Mary-you are doing great, see you don't have to miss workouts. Its nice having something we can do with the kids.

Ronne-it seems like a nightmare.

I got in a 2.7 mile dog walk and 60 min of pilates reformer. Neck was ok, hoping I didn't overdo it, although I think the stress and tension are adding to it. DS#2 has been irritating with his lackluster approach to doing what I tell him needs done to go to KS. Well, it came to a head today. AFter I told him we need to work on getting stuff that is laying around packed and ready to go and that I didn't want to do it but it had to be done. So the last straw was him (sarcastically) calling me by my first name. I have earned the right to be called Mom (or Mother if you are pissed...that's what I did to my mom :) ) Anyway, I quit helping, went and tried to calm down and read. He apologized right away however I wasn't ready. So most things packed, HOWEVER no clothes washed, the 3 things I told him need done ISN"T. He apologized again and said he isn't thrilled to be moving. I figured, however I told him I'm proud of him, blah blah, and proud of his GF supporting him in his career, blah, blah. It really shouldn't have come down to this. So yea, tension isn't helping neck or BP. The moving company will FINALLY have his stuff there Wed or Thurs.....to him he thinks he has another day, uh, WHAT IF ITs WED MORNING? we have a 8 hr drive. I dropped the discussion. I'm so ready to have my house ALL TO MYSELF. I guess I vented enough, if I do get any w/o in, I'll have to make it a quick fly by post, since KS will be sometime this week and who knows how long. I wanna do this like I wanna root canal but we do what we have to.

Roxie, Hot here today, really hot tomorrow, the heat will proabbly follow me East :(

Jody, you are doing great with your w/o's! I bet if I lost 5 lbs most would come off that spare tire! Hoping by next Tues I can focus back on diet -- make me!!!!! I know BFF and I are planning hike on Monday (and I'm sure we both need it!). Yes, will lose Oatmeal, but really I'm ready to lose everyone but DH and Suki (Dh should be glad I'm including him at this point).

Ronne, I need a lovely lunch :) Hope DD is doing better, good not broken, but I'm sure a bruise still hurts a lot! My flex fitbit has been logging a good 7 hrs a night of sleep, this morning I turned it off thinking I'd get up, I fell back asleep for at least 1.5 hrs more....no nap today...too much drama. I think it was the icing on the cake, seriously ready for retirement from motherhood, is there such a thing?

Mary, yea you! Adding PT onto a w/o takes a lot of time! so does more stretching! My back is sooooo much better if I continue with my stretches massage thereapist gave me. Exciting about Amazing Race, hope they get it!

Well, back to the drama of my life....would someone trade with me? hmmmm, whose life would I prefer ? :D

Hi all. I hope I am back for good. I finished radiation and my skin is coming back. I have been absent b/c the radiation caused some burning and that led to skin peeling, being sore and cracking in some areas. It hurt to wear a barely there bra. But, the color is coming back, I am not peeling anymore and am on the mend. I have not exercised (except for PT) for almost 6 weeks. That plus the fact that I have not done anything consistent for almost a year adds up to a very big booty and spare tire. People have been looking at my stomach and I know they want to ask if I am pregnant but they know better than to ask.

Anyway, I rode the spin bike yesterday to a pedal power premix. I did some of the tabata but not the hills. I am only using two and three pound weights for the UB, it is still very week. My plan is to increase the weight by one pound each week or so. It is hard and a bit depressing at times but I remind myself that if I rush I will be out again.

I tried to read and catch up but there is a lot going on. I hope - the moves goes well, DD and her toe are better, work picks up, muscle memory comes back (I really hope muscle memory is real), the Amazing Race tryouts are amazing and...I feel like I am forgetting something.

I hope to be back soon. I am feeling great and ready to get my butt kicked by Cathe - again.

Murphy

Hi all

Murphy – great to hear from you :)! Please, please, please don't be so hard on yourself. You are recovering from CANCER!!! We're all here for you and will support you through your recovery and workouts. Baby steps and doing anything at all is an achievement :D.

Lisa - I feel your pain, sometimes you just have to keep quiet and let them mess up for themselves. Is it my imagination or do you have a hammock up to relax in the heat?

Roxie - at least it's good weather for the boat!

Jody - good workout. Just think you're banking them up for the busy times!

Mary - sorry I have no idea what the Amazing Race is but judging by the reactions, it must be amazing!

Our neighbours came back yesterday after being away in New Zealand for two years. They've got a 9 month old baby with them (in addition to their 3 other kids). It's weird people going away and coming back with a baby!!
Did ME today.
Enjoying watching lots of World Cup football at the moment from Brazil. Don't suppose anyone else is?! ;)

MURPHY! You are back! We have missed you! Think of you everyday! Be kind to yourself, you have been fighting a much more important battle! So glad you are back with us! Today did the bike (longer than PT) for my cardio. Ronne, Amazing Race is a reality show where people race around the world doing challenges. How is DD? Lisa, it is so hard to watch them make mistakes! I wonder when they start listening to us? Jody, sorry about the cancellation. Funny, we watched Nemo last night! Roxie, hope your head is better! Have to get ready for PT, have. Good day! Mary

Yay! Murphy wonderful to see you!

Ronne, I don't watch much sports but that is the one sport I ever got into watching. I used to go all the games when we had a team and league. OK I had stalker like crushes on each individual Tampa Bay Rowdy, but still, I did love the games.

Lisa, you are competitive? I would love to flaunt weight loss in your face to spur you on, but damn, I don't have any to flaunt! Have a great day on your hike and good luck w/ ds this week.

Mary, you are kicking butt w/ your PT and workouts.

Roxie, I might get a run in today. It so I'll be thinking of you.

I did ME LB only pm. I did fewer reps than cathe with the high step but did use as many risers.

I did 3 mile HOT dog walk. Had to take off my shoes last mile, I changed shoes (mistake), my heel was rubbing and I didn't want a blister. I did about 50 min on the pilates reformer. I do notice more core strength in some exercises though it's still hard to do them fully because of my neck.

Murphy, so glad to see you here! I always counted PT as exercise! I guess we are at that age where something goes wrong and we all will have our battles and with the group support we will get thru! Take it easy on your w/o comeback, don't overstress your body (ha, listen to me, I don't even take my own advice a lot of the time, I should though!)

Jody, I only did the LB portion of ME once, do not like leg presses. As far as being competitive something has to help! I'm afraid I;ve gained a couple :(

Ronne, not much of a sports fan. I do have a hammock but that got axed with allergies and neck. I have been hitting the wine bottle  I think DS and I got things ironed out between us.

Mary, We got the official word that they will be driving the truck out delivering tomorrow, so we will drive out early. I'll be MIA for awhile. He got everything done while I was "calming down" yesterday. All but his dogs shot records filed away....said "it's in the car".....grrrrr, ok, don't call me when you can't find ALL the shot records in one place.

Good Evening,

Almost 100 degrees here today and the wind was gusting to 35mph not a fun drive home. I did KCM's HGI 1 and planks.

Lisa-its going to be hot and windy so dress cool.

Murphy-glad to hear from you take your time and recover.

Mary-you are doing great.

Ronne-almost to windy for the boat.

Jody-good luck with the run I did one on the TM tonite unless it rains tonight I should be able to take it outside in the morning.

It got drizzly here, no run for me Roxie.

Lisa, I was trying to say I don't have any wt loss to flaunt, not sure if what I wrote made sense. Do I ever? Other than gtg w/ friends, I've been avoiding wine and trying to stick to 21 day fix but I usually go over. : (

I had fun with my week of Intensity. Lisa the leg presses were my favorite and probably the thing that would make me go back to that pm but overall I feel like I wimped out too much and could do another leg day to make up for it.

Hello

Jody - so is there no football league there at all anymore?

Roxie - wow, that's hot! No wonder you don't want to run in it.

Lisa - good luck with the trip. Hope there are no more meltdowns!

Mary - wow, that show sounds great. Hope they get on!

Had a pleasant surprise this morning. DH bought some new scales (he's been watching what he eats, and he's lost 14lbs in 2 months). Anyway, I thought I'd have a look at how much I weigh and I seem to weigh 6lbs less than last time I weighed myself (months ago). It's probably the scales but I was still quite pleased!
Did SB as a sub for PRS2 as I don't have it. Got very sweaty!

Ronne, that is great! I hate you! LOL, JK. : ) Re soccer/football I had to look it up, there is a league but no teams in FL from what I can tell.

I did XT CBS. It went well. I have to be careful with rushing into position using heavy wts and using ball, I don't want to drop 20 pounds on my tile floor.

Good morning! Today did bike, PT, and upper body from Jari's R&C. Long workout! Ronne, congrats! 6 pounds is a lot! Jody, hope work flys by! Roxie, are you on the boat today? Lisa, safe travels! Hi Murphy! Have to go get DD, she's volunteering with the 3rd graders and reading, looks good on college apps she says! Not out of the goodness of her heart! I'll see you on Friday! Fingers crossed! Mary

Good Evening,

I did my planks before we went to the lake and then KCM's Trim Down Boxing Premix when we got home which I don't normally do.

Mary-yes and I actually got in the water because it was so hot and it was windy again. We are expecting storms starting tonite coming in from Lisa's direction in Kansas.

Ronne-you lost the wt. not the scale change.

Lisa-I hope you have a safe trip, watch the weather.

Jody-did you get a run in today?

Hi all

Roxie - I haven't tried that premix yet. I must put that on my list.

Mary - wow, that's a lot of exercise. What sort of PT are you doing?

Jody - dropping your weights could make a nasty mess!

B&G today, I missed some bits as I can't do 78 mins! Didn't get the barbell or stability ball out, so skipped all those bits. It came down to about an hour which is much more manageable.
Went out with BF last night for dinner. Had a really nice evening, drank quite a lot of white wine! As soon as the sun starts shining I just want to drink cold beer or white wine!
