    Shock Cardio: another Extended Stretch?

Hi Cathe and friends. I love the Extended Stretch in the STS DVDs and do it following every STS workout. It's really keeping me nice and flexible. I'd like to suggest doing something similar for the Shock Cardio series. That way, there could be 2 stretch workouts to alternate between when doing...

I know there are some men doing STS. I'd be interested in hearing your impressions and your results. Any thoughts?

    Injured myself with Disc 17!

I did a number on my back and neck with Wednesday's leg routine. The night before, I noticed that the right side of my upper back and neck were a little sore when I went to bed, and still a little sore in the morning. However, I get that sort of thing a lot, because my job involves sitting in...

    Problems with Workout Manager

Hi there. Has anybody experienced any issues with their measurements in the Workout Manager? Today I went to enter in my weekly measurements, as I have for the past 3 weeks, and the measurements that it listed for my last measurements were way off. For example, it said body fat 11% (not even...

How important is it to drink water during a strength training workou?

In the STS DVDs, I notice that you and the crew take the time to rehydrate with water. It is important to drink water during a workout? If so, why?

Addin extended stretch to our calendars

Is the extended stretch listed under any of the pre-existing workouts that we can add to our calendars, or should we add it manually? I could not find it listed under the STS workouts. However, I thought I wold double check before adding it manually, because I'm not sure how to categorize it. I...

Strange statistics -- 27 workouts done this month?

When I look on my home page under statistics, it says: Workouts done this month: 27 Workouts done this year: 76 Are these supposed to represent my individual statistics or the statistics for everybody? I have definitely not done 27 workouts this month, and I imagine that the group as a whole...

How do I mark a workout as complete?

The instructions say to "Click the checkbox to mark a workout as completed". I did this, but it does not stay clicked. What I mean is, if I leave the page and return, it is not marked as completed. I also tried clicking the arrow on the right to get the details, clicking the checkbox, and...

    Supine squats?

One of the exercises listed for the STS DVDs is "squats, wide stance, supine" and it is supposed to be for the back. Is this an actual exercise or a mistake? If it's an actual exercise, can somebody explain to me how to do it? Supine is just a mistake, we will fix it.

Exercises not on the One Rep Max Chart

There appear to be a heck of a lot of exercises in the 1RM calculator that are not on the One Rep Max Chart that we printed out. I understand that some of these are body weight exercises (such as push ups). But some of them appear to involve weights. Should we be testing these? I tried...

calve raises and low lunge/squat combos

Hi there. Did you guys so the IRM for the calve raises and low lunge/squat combos exercises? Both are listed on the STS One Rep Max Chart (although only with one star), but they do not appear to use added weights.

Leg press vs. Step up vs. Reverse lunge on step

Can somebody explain the difference between the leg press, the step up, and the reverse lunge on the step? I guess with the reverse lunge you start on the step, rather than the floor. Is that the only difference? What is the difference between the leg press and the step up? Thanks!

    What does "1.5" mean?

There are a few exercises that specify "1.5" after them. For example -- Seated Concentration curls 1.5 Does 1.5 indicate something to do with the timing? For example, each second should now be a second and a half? Forgive my ignorance, but I want to be sure I do them correctly.

    1RM question -- dumbbells

When performing the 1RM test for dumbbell exercises (that have 2 dumbbells), have people been entering the total weight of the combined dumbbells, or the weight of each dumbbell? Or does it depend on the exercise? Would you enter the single dumbbell weight for bicep curls, because each bicep is...

Cathe DVDs: No DVD shown for Today or this Month

I've just started using this website, so maybe I'm missing something obvious. When I use FireFox web browser, nothing is shown in the "Today, I'm doing" and "This Month, I've Done" areas of the Cathe DVDs tab. If I use Internet Explorer, I get the dreaded red x instead of pictures. For...

Do my old Cathe DVDs become obsolete?

From what I've been reading about the STS system, it sounds like folks can repeat the three and a half month cycle. I'm wondering what this means for my existing Cathe DVDs? Will these become obsolete? Will Cathe still post rotations? Are these rotations considered less effective than the STS...
