    New to STS

I am officially DONE with STS! :D This has been a long 15 weeks, for sure! The good news is that after calculating my 1RMs after this final workout today, I can definitely say Cathe followed through on her promise of getting 5% stronger by following her program. I'll say, though, I was...

4-week only STS 2.0 Hypertrophy Rotation?

If you were to follow AI's advice, which STS 2.0 titles (premixes, full, etc.) would you use, with the limitation of only having the DVDs and their premixes available (no workout blender)? It's useful to know what body parts you're looking to target, but for a STS 2.0-specific series rotation...

4-week only STS 2.0 Hypertrophy Rotation?

Thanks - I appreciate some more ideas. It's definitely a brain-teaser. Maybe a more simple question is just "if you could only do a 4-week STS 2.0 rotation, what would you do?" Fortunately I've got lots of time before I need to come to any firm decisions on this - won't be revisiting STS again...

4-week only STS 2.0 Hypertrophy Rotation?

I'm looking at creating a rotation using STS 2.0 that would replace Meso 2 from the original STS. I'm curious how some of you would approach this (and, of course, Cathe, if you're reading, how would you?) NOTE: At the time I only have the DVDs - not streaming and therefore no Workout Blender...

    Enablers' Recommendations for Weight-lifting Series

I'm definitely feeling stronger - was certainly impressed with some of the weights I've been able to accomplish at the 90% range during week 3. Proof will be in the pudding next week when I have to resort back to 8 reps at 85%! I can't imagine combining both UB workouts from Meso 3 - I suppose...

    Enablers' Recommendations for Weight-lifting Series

Fun to see the results. Thanks for starting the poll. Awesome to see STS 2.0 is at the top. It really is a great series - I'm jonesing for it after this 15-week original STS rotation. (I'm on my last week of Meso 3 this week - woohoo!)

Last hurrah (maybe) for the sale...

Further markdowns - majority of items and individual DVDs are $5.99. I decided to go ahead and purchase three cycle titles - even though I don't have a stationary bike. :p I'm kind of on the fence if I want to turn cycling into a workout when, for the most part, I keep my outdoor cycling to a...

    New to STS

If you're gonna start in August, I'd say now is the time to start getting your 1RMs figured out. :) It took me a couple months! You can squeeze in an exercise or two before your usual workout for the day.

    Enablers' Recommendations for Weight-lifting Series

I'd add Intensity Series Pyramid Upper and Pyramid Lower Body workouts - they're more endurance-based, but those two workouts really kept me in great shape in the pre-STS years. In order of preference with my two votes, I put 1. STS 2.0 2. XTrain I don't have a lot of experience just yet...

    New to STS

Given the bankruptcy news, I do wonder if leadership might be looking around some more to find more cost savings, and if barely anyone is using the forums, they may feel justified in ceasing to support/host them. Though their forum may be bundled together with the rest of the cathe.com website...

    New to STS

It's been kind of fun documenting all of this, and I'm truly hoping (so long as the forums stay up and active), that this can serve of something helpful for anyone else who may be trying STS for the first time, too - or coming back to it after many years. I'm trying to hold back my judgment of...

Lift it Hiit it Legs - call me a convert!

I resisted buying the entire RWH series for so very long because HiiT has just never been my favorite form of cardio. I purchased digital downloads of the Low Impact workouts from this series a long time ago to have on hand as optional travel cardio workouts and do them on occasion when I want...

If you're looking for alternatives, I find Julia Rappel's mobility workouts on YouTube, including her warmups, pretty thorough: Mobility by Julia Reppel

    New to STS

Finished first week of Meso #3. Really happy to see it wasn't such the shocker that the first week of Meso #2 was. I appreciated the longer rest periods - although I caught that sometimes between exercises in Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps she'd only give you 30 seconds, not 60. I recall...

STS 2.0 – New Slow Motion Rotation

I was thinking you can always increase the challenge to your body with heavier weights - instead of the 10-ish rep range you'd be doing more around 6-8 reps - your emphasis would shift more to strength than hypertrophy. Kind of re-visiting original STS that way. If you know your 1RM, then...

Differences between STS 2.0 Lower Body 1, 2, and Body Parts Legs?

Old thread revised - I decided after my initial questions to just go ahead and use any of the three LB STS 2.0 workouts when it came down to the Body Parts phase of her rotation. Was nice to do in case I was getting bored with only doing Body Parts Legs. All were effective. @Debinmi good call...

STS 2.0 – New Slow Motion Rotation

Nice work, Nabbe! I'm impressed you squeezed it into her existing PDF formatting (did you catch that it has a file title in Acrobat that says "ICE User's Guide"? Not a complaint! I giggle at this because I've been seeing that in a few of Cathe's official User's Guides - they occasionally forget...

STS 1 Hard Copy Users Guide

Grrrrr - thank you for bringing this up. I've not heard anything from CS about it given I was asking them about this very thing after I first purchased all three mesocycles. I'll reach out again.

    New to STS

Thanks for the tidbit on rest periods - makes sense they'd be long for the squat rack legs. I'm expecting something akin to XTrain's Cardio Leg blast for the Plyo Legs workouts, so yeah - not much rest there! I did notice the warmups in STS are pretty brief. I honestly feel barely warmed up at...
