For those of you who have done Insanity

I was sort of thinking that myself, Jenn. Especially today when I was doing the Cardio Recovery DVD. I think that between that, all the jumping and stuff, and my running, my legs won't really need the weight work.

    Rachel Ray - really?

I'm becoming a better cook since going to a clean diet, since I have to cook everything so I know exactly what's in it. I've really only tried 2 of Rachel's recipes. One was great (the Welsh rarebit burgers) and the other one was awful. It was so bad, I can't even remember what it was...

    The 200+ Club.....Really?

That's an excellent story Stacy, except for the fact that it blows for you. I've done trails a couple times and it's really REALLY hard on my body. I have one hip that's about an inch lower than the other due to breaking my pelvis when I was 19. I think it's the source of many of the issues I...

    The 200+ Club.....Really?

I don't use the calories burned on my Garmin at all. I have a formula I got online that uses your age, weight, avg HR and VO2 Max. This is a more accurate measure of your burn. But yeah, you're definitely burning more than what the Garmin is saying. Maybe your chest strap isnt hitting right...

    Rachel Ray - really?

Oh, yeah... no I get your meaning. Yes, there are people out there who do run a lot so they can eat whatever they want. But they really don't get the same results as those who watch their diets. They're the skinny fat people.

    The 200+ Club.....Really?

I've actually heard that you burn as many calories whether you walk 5 miles or run it. The big difference is the amount of time it takes you to do it. I don't have the patience to walk 5 miles.

What does STS - Mesocycle #3 Optional Squat Rack Routines

You don't ACTUALLY need the weighted vest. The first time I did STS, I didn't have it. I just added extra plates to my bar. I had the vest for the second round and was definitely glad I got it. Especially for front squats, because the bar is uncomfortable when loaded up to the heavy weight...

For those of you who have done Insanity

Thanks! I'm in recovery week from STS, so I'll throw some weight work in there too. I've adjusted the schedule to incorporate 2 runs a week, so maybe I'll do some weight work on those days.

For those of you who have done Insanity

I'm still in my first week and just completed Cardio Power & Resistance. I did feel that my muscles got a pretty good workout, but I'm wondering if the Catheletes have incorporated any of Cathe's strength training into the rotation. I was thinking that maybe on Cardio Recovery or Pure Cardio...

    The 200+ Club.....Really?

I can't imagine running with a weighted vest on. I have a 20# vest that I use for STS Squat Rack and I can't wait to get that sucker off at the end of the workout. It really tires my neck out. I know exactly what you mean about the walking not getting your HR up. I started out walking on...

    The 200+ Club.....Really?

I think it's fine if they are starting out when they're heavy as long as they listen to their bodies and don't overdo it - just like the rest of us. It's really the fastest way I've found to drop weight, so if they eat well, they'll drop those pounds pretty quickly.

    Insanity Fit Test

I think that's pretty much the point I was trying to make. That "wimp" is actually a marathon runner - according to Shaun in the Plyometric workout I did yesterday. And let me tell you... I couldn't even keep up for the entire DVD. I was close, but I took a couple breaks. So shut my mouth -...

    Rachel Ray - really?

I think she looks OK, and she seems a very sweet person. I don't watch her show because I'm not into those types of shows. I just was curious as to the ad using her name when she looks exactly the same as she always does. By the way - I'm a "runner chick" and we don't "eat what we want". I...

    Rachel Ray - really?

I keep seeing this ad come up in my feed on Facebook about Rachel Ray losing 32 lbs. and they show her in a bikini. I don't want to seem mean, but did she put it right back on? I just saw her the other day and she looks the same as always. She's way cute - but the food she cooks isn't gonna...

    Insanity Fit Test

Now I can't wait to see this. I expect if Shaun was ticked, they'd have edited it out. Don't we all get that feeling once in awhile? One could look at it as an opportunity to show those who are struggling to get through it that all you need is some determination and you can do it. Then...

    Insanity Fit Test

I haven't looked at any of the videos yet, but I don't doubt it. Some people don't get that you need to eat more when you work out at that level. So I'm assuming you've all done this workout. How do you use the Dig Deep one? I don't see it in the rotation.

    Insanity Fit Test

OMG - DD, I can't believe you said that. It makes me feel OK saying that I had to change my shorts after doing those leaps where you jump up and lift your knees to your waist. I peed. Not as easy to hold it in as when you're running. LOL.

    Insanity Fit Test

Decided to try Insanity and did my first Fit Test just now after being a regular runner and doing mostly STS for the past year. I totally kicked butt against the 2 in the DVD who were doing their 2nd Fit Test. Felt good beating the guy at the push-ups. Actually, I may have tied him, but I...

    Arms Like Michelle

I saw this article on MSNBC.com yesterday about which celebrities have the best features and how people are going to plastic surgeons to get the look. I was really amused about the mention of Michelle Obama's arms and that there are women going in for "arm lifts". I think the surgeon called it...

Is STS useful when trying to lose weight?

I lost 16 lbs. doing it, along with running and eating healthier. Lean muscle burns more calories and increases your metabolism. As long as you are paying attention to your diet, you'll lose weight.
