Climb out of your rut - Thursday

Wendy, it would be great to go, but we ran into some unexpected expenses this year. Plus, I work that weekend and it's really hard to switch weekends in the summer. And most of my "posse" won't be there this year. I'm aiming at next year. How about you aim for a RT east next year. I'm sorry you...

    I need a new diet....

I know, I know. Diet is a dirt word, but it's the only way I know. Last spring I lost about 25 pounds on an easy to follow, but BORING diet a friend got from her trainer. I've regained about 7 pounds and want desperately to lose them before summer is here. I just can't get motivated with the old...

The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo movie

Once you get past the first couple chapters and get some of the characters in your head, the books are great. I'm not sure I want to see the movies. I'm always disappointed when I've loved a book.

Climb out of your rut - Thursday

Morning. I'm planning on a cardio workout this afternoon. I'm not sure yet if I'll stick to the rotatio - I think it's a step workout - or try running. Sort of depends on the weather. slwitt, yuk on the snow. I'd much rather have 80s. How was the meeting? Good news, I hope. Cheryl, great...

Get out of your Rut on Tuesday

Sorry to be hit and miss lately. I was sick last week and, as some of you know, my mom passed away on Easter. She was living in WA state, near my sister, and suffered from dementia, so her passing hasn't been as difficult as it could have been. My wonderful sister has been taking care of...

Getting Out of the Rut - Tuesday

Hi gang. I looked for the thread yesterday, but didn't see it. Yeah, I see it today. It must have been on page two. I'm doing pretty well. I set a goal to lose 10 pounds by the first full week of May. I've done pretty well since I started last week, with only a minor slip on Sunday. I'm still...

Getting out of the Rut - Saturday

Hi Jodi! I keep looking for the thread and finding it on the second page with only a couple posts. :( Good job with the workouts! I haven't done CCPP for ages. DH took my stationary bike to the basement, since it was turning into a home for wayward spiders. I've been too busy with other...

Seriously $400 Lego set for an 8 year old?

I have a friend whose son, now 15 years old, has been investing in Legos for years. He has a room (yes, a whole room) just for his Legos. He buys bags of Legos by the pound on eBay. He and his mom even went to a weekend Lego convention in DC. I'm sure $400 for Legos wouldn't even make him blink.

Getting out of the rut -Monday

Hi Wendy. I'm all caught up with the rotation after working out yesterday. Today was STS Chest and Back. I fell back into the food rut over the weekend, but I'm back on track today. I even fought off a very strong donut craving! Exciting about how close the RT is! I'm still hoping for a date for...

Out of the RUT on the 1st day of Spring!

Hola, rut-climber-out-ofers. Happy Spring! I'm just enjoying my coffee and listening to Mr Bluebird serenade his chosen mate. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Spring. I guess spring is a good reason for the struggle through winter. I'll be doing STS shoulders, biceps and triceps in a bit. Then we are...

Out of the Rut - Thursday

Hey gang!! Sorry I haven't had time to get back here. We got home from vacation on Monday evening and I've been playing catch up ever since. The trip to the Sea of Cortez was wonderful. The kayaking and camping was fun, the food great and the scenery unbelievable. I hope to get back someday...

    Just finished a good book...

I just finished reading (and crying) my way through Sarah's Key, after reading about it on another forum book thread. I read and enjoyed Olive Kitteridge while on vacation too. If anyone likes "cozy mysteries," I highly recommend any of the Beatrice Potter series written by Susan Wittig...
