    push ups and abs

First I agree, please pat yourself on the back for doing these workouts. I never can do everything Cathe or the crew does, and often feel like I am not keeping up, but the main thing is to just keep working out regularly at your own unique level, appropriate for you, and improvements will come...

Worth it for a low-impacter to buy Intensity?

This looks like a wonderful workout DVD from all of your reviews and comments. I swore I was not going to buy any more DVDs at least the rest of this year (ha ha) but now I have to have this one. Thank you, all enablers.

    nastiness on the internet

Jean, it's funny that you wrote that, because I was just thinking it! My mother, God rest her soul, used to say to me, ALL the time, "remember what Thumper said." And it has stuck with me. I always do my best to live by that. It's nice to know I am not the only person who remembers that line...

    nastiness on the internet

Thanks for all of the replies! Cathe especially, thank you for providing this great fitness forum and thanks to you and all the staff for keeping this forum thoughtfully and wisely moderated. This is pretty much the only online forum I trust to be friendly and VERY informative. You and the...

    nastiness on the internet

Does anyone else sometimes feel like there is so much mean stuff on the internet they just don't want to look at it anymore? I love this forum, and please know right away, I am not talking about this forum! But, I got really flamed in a very nasty way on a different forum today, in a really...

    foam rollers

I do have one and while I don't use it a huge amount, I do use it periodically and I do feel better when I use it more often. It works out knots that otherwise I need a massage therapist to get at, and an actual massage visit is expensive. There is a foam roller "workout" I like on one of the...

    pantyhose or no?

What I would do - is go NO pantyhose, but also use a nice moisturizer on the legs that also gives a bit of a glow. There are some leg moisturizers/lotions etc. made for specifically this purpose and provide a little color if you want it. Show off all that hard work!!!

    CTX Rotation

I got this below from a post probably of about 3 years ago. I can't recall who the original poster was to give them credit, but I do think this is a good one. HTH! WEEK 1 Sunday rest or pilates/yoga/stretch Monday cardio, back, legs, abs Power Circuit Tuesday cardio, chest Step &...

if you could only keep one thing, what would it be?

If you could only keep one piece of workout equipment, what would it be? I started thinking about this idea this morning, thinking in this bad economy, what if I lost my job and had to sell off my exercise equipment, what would I keep if I could only keep one thing? I was thinking at this...

    Do you have CTX?

Funny but I wasn't sure what workout I was going to do today - then got the latest post about CTX and decided to do the CTX kickbox cardio. Love the music, love the energy in this entire series. I was feeling kind of lethargic earlier today, but I cannot stay unmotivated with things like Cathe...

    working kettlebells into rotations

Jane, thanks for the advice! This helps a lot. In particular it's good to know about the AOS workouts you mentioned, Providence, Firepower, and Newport. I was wondering what the differences were between several of those.

    working kettlebells into rotations

For all you experienced kettlebell users, how often do you work them in, to say a week-long or month-long workout plan? Do you ever do them 2 days in a row? Do you sub them in for a purely weight workout, or a circuit training session, as it seems they train a lot of the body and even have a...

I'd like to see something like this too! Kathryn, what is a YTML shoulder lift?

Stretch Max or Total Body Stretching??

They're both excellent routines. TBS has 13 minute stretches, and SM has 20 minute stretches. I find I use them both but I use TBS a LOT more, because the 13 minute stretch is easier for me to "fit in" on a busy day at the end of my cardio or weight training.

    Do you have CTX?

I see you have already been "enabled" but I'll also chime in - I love CTX, have had it for about 4 years and I love it. I most often do the Kickbox cardio, the various abs, and Leaner Legs. Leaner Legs is priceless. CTX does not feel dated at all; it is a lot of fun and there is a lot of...

    Muscle Max or Muscle Endurance

One thing I really like about ME - it comes on a DVD with Boot Camp. And I LOVE Boot Camp. When you only have an hour and you need to do cardio, weights, and abs, it totally kicks your behind and works your entire body. I have MM too and like both ME and MM, but I use the ME DVD more often...

Please guys, this kind of discussion needs to go into the "Open Discussion" forum. This one is for Cathe DVDs. You'll probably get more responses also if you move it all to Open.
