    :::: CHEETAHS :::: Saturday, July 7th

    Good morning, cheetahs :) :) :) Today will be DM - the cardio & u/b premix. I have been thinking of changing my screen name. I was a dork thinking about the 80s movie Desperately Seeking Susan when I first registered and was referring to my desire for more muscle definition in the arms...

    VERY overweight nephew - help

    Nan, Personally, I think you would be better off talking to your brother face-to-face. Since a letter doesn't allow him to hear the tone of your voice and see your facial expression, it could so easily lead to misinterpretation. And then it's there in writing, forever. Writing the letter...

    An 11 Year Old Charged with Drunk Driving....

    I was shocked by this, too, and agree - charge the parents! ~Cathy "I always loved running...You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs." -Jesse Owens

    stubborn areas

    Hey Laura~ Same problem area here...I am working on it! I am currently doing a modified version of the Aug. 04 Fat Loss/Leg & Glute rotation, which is heavy on the leg work. Am hoping to see a difference at the end of the 4 weeks. Cathy :) "I always loved running...You could go in any...

    Cheetahs TGIF

    Back from dinner...We tried a nearby restaurant for the first time...it's American cuisine with Mexican flair...I just love trying new restaurants, and this was no disappointment. Everything was *very* tasty! I had grilled shrimp in a spicy habanero sauce with chipotle mashed potatoes and...

    P90X TGIF!

    Oh, oops, Wendy, I didn't see your post wedged in there earlier...yeah, you're right! My bad ~ I forgot about your preference for the TM!!...I haven't seen that movie but wanted to - heard it is good...So, you are getting close to being all done with the PT cert! Exciting!!...Some me-time will...

    P90X TGIF!

    Laura :: OK, that’s where I had it in mind to get mine – just below the bikini line. I know a few teachers with exposed tattoos, but I would prefer to have mine private, too. That way if I *do* wind up regretting it, it’s not going to be something I’m embarrassed about – it’ll be covered up...

    Non cardio dvd

    I don't have FitTV where I live, so I don't know what's on it. But if you scroll to the top of the page, you'll see links to CATALOG, where you can view it online or request a paper copy. Also, if you click on HOME, information about the 4-day split series can be found on the main page. Cathy :)

    Need advice--new to running

    I would say, for someone brand-new to running, try to get a rest day in between each run for at least the first 2-3, maybe 4, weeks and watch carefully to see how your body handles it. And go from there. With time, you'll be able to tell how many back-to-back days of running your body can take...

    Cheetahs TGIF

    Hello again, cheetahs~ Kristi :: *sweet* that you’re working half the day but getting paid for the whole thing. I think mowing a hilly lawn definitely counts for a workout! You know you’ll be sweatin’ & burnin’ cals. Congrats on your new elliptical!…It’s been awhile since Linda checked in...

    Cheetahs TGIF

    Morning, cheetahs & happy Friday :) Did a B&G mishmosh (Floor Work, Ankle Weights, Bonus Glute Squeeze, Lunge/Squat Combo, & Firewalkers) followed by a 40 minute run. The humidity is back – with a vengeance! BOO! Wendy :: I wish I’d had some water out there with me today! What workout...

    P90X TGIF!

    Good morning, ladies! :) Happy Friday! Wendy :: since you are only slightly north of me, I imagine you're dealing with the same intense humidity, so I say bag the run and go w/ k'box and spin. Angie :: yes, they warn you about possible depression and a link to suicide. If anything, I feel...

    Non cardio dvd

    I would recommend that you get a hold of Cathe's new catalog, which provides detailed descriptions & breakdowns of each of her workouts. That being said, the Gym Style series, Pyramids, and Butts & Guts are my personal favorites. Cathy :) "I always loved running...You could go in any...

    VERY overweight nephew - help

    Nan, Why not talk to your brother as gently as possible about your concerns? It sounds like they are all in a bad cycle...who knows, they might be receptive to changing their habits but don't know where to start. I would offer my help once, and then leave the ball in their court. If they don't...

    Baptism gift

    I agree with Wendy - cash or bond is the way to go. Cathy :) >I give a cash gift personally. I think a savings bond could >be okay too. I am not religious so don't go for the religious >gifts and personally do not feel any old toy or outfit is >appropriate. JMHO though. :-)

    ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday, July 5

    Laura :: I think you are right - you shouldn't go too high b/c then you would be in your anaerobic zone. According to Sally Edwards, for most fit people, this is 80-90% of your max HR. So based upon what I've read, staying within 60-80% should allow you to burn fat...Glad to hear you like...

    I'm curious!

    I would not spring for the outfits. Now those fine high-fashion designs from Tracey Staehle's Cardio Sweatfest, on the other hand... }( ;) :D I do think Cathe & crew had cute outfits with the latest series, but I am not really into coordinated workout gear for myself. I buy very plain basics...

    ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday, July 5

    Hey, girls ~ I'm back! Jess :: I've had to make quite a few substitutions for that rotation, too, as I don't have all the DVDs either. Hope you had fun at the pool today. Laurie :: sorry to hear the thumb joint is out of whack…that can’t be good in your line of work…hope you can get it to...
