YouTube video clip now up for disc #3 - Legs

Wall Squats

Thanks for the clip, it looks really good!:D

I do have a question on the music though: during some parts of the clip, the music didn't completely match up with exercise (especially apparent during the wall squat w/stability ball segment). Will the music match up better on the final product hope hope?:) I'm guessing these are just rough clips and not intended to be the final version...thanks!!!;)

I'm glad you enjoyed the clip Bizybee:)

To answer your question, sometimes it will and sometimes it won't (but most of the time it will). When doing STS you are encouraged, our cast included, to go at your own pace when training in this manner. There is no way to sync a beat to everyones own comfortable speed, so the editors chose to just match it to me. In doing so when the camera goes off of me, it may or may not tightly match the backgrounder it is showing on the screen. Honestly, IMO, this a very small distraction when you look at the monumental benefits STS provides. This one exercise is truly only one, in a small handful of exercises, in the entire STS collection, where the sync isn't quite matched up like the others. I think most will agree, after doing the whole show, that they were really way too exhausted to even recall this occurance. Actually I'm close to saying I'm positive they will agree ;)

Thanks for your feedback :)

OK, I took a look. Question #1 Am I going to being walk after doing this?
Question #2 the plate work, is that going to bother my knees. I realize I should only go as far as I feel I can.

Otherwise I think it looks GREAT!!

Hi Tami...You'll definitely be able to walk (with a cane, LOL) after this workout!

As for the plates, the plate work takes you into a much deeper range of motion so if turns out your knees bother you in this range, eliminate the plate, and maybe even the accompanying weight. Sit and slides, which are in another STS leg workout, can be modified in this same manner.

Take Care!

Its funny you chose a "green top" because I am sure that's what I'll be feeling and looking like at the end of that workout. The only thing not scary is the music and men..lol....Peggy

Geez Cathe, how can someone who looks so sweet and pretty be so EVIL!? LOL!!!

But seriously, I CANNOT WAIT for STS!!!!!!!!! :D

Ok- I have work to do- just tried the SB Wall Squats with weights...As soon as I went lower than 90 degrees I fall on my butt!
*scurrying off to practice*

Stability Ball Wall Squats

Cathe:

Thank you for sharing this video clip! I have been waiting with great expectation for this one. The promise of lower body workouts like Butts and Guts (my personal favorite!) is what made me excited about this series, and this workout looks like fun. I was with you until I saw the stability ball wall squats. *wink* Is it necessary to go all the way to the floor with the weights? I practiced this morning, and going below 90 degrees causes my knees to scream and cry without holding any weights. What is the benefit of going that deep? How can I modify this?

The video clip looks great, and I love the music! Thanks for all your hard work! Have a blessed day! :)

Traci, thanks for the laugh this morning. If I fall on my butt, I have plenty of cushion for a soft landing. LOL!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Holy biceps!

Okay, am I the only one too distracted by the size of Cathe's arms to even watch what her legs were doing??

Cathe, if this is what STS can do for me, then....bring it ON!!!!

Sandra

This is awesome and scary all at the same time!

Ummm, afraid to ask, how long is this workout???

Me likey!

That looks like a fun leg workout: I like the variety, and the unweighted work (which looks very effective as well).

(They only thing I immediately didn't like is the green top---but I guess you can't wear my favorite colors ALL the time;))

I agree with Kathryn. Workout looks like it includes a god variety of muscles worked from different angles.

But unlike Kathryn, I love the green top and it suits Cathe's colouring very well. I'd love one like it!

didn't notice the green top

huh, I didn't even notice the top Cathe was wearing...I"ll have to go back and watch the clip again (like thats gonna be a chore!) I was too busy watching all the different leg exercises and wondering if my poor legs will support me through all of that!

I love the look of the variety of the exercises.... But I am still very scared.... LOL....

Did you see the look on one ofthe guys after the one legged lunges?? hehe - he looked like he was a hurtin.... I guess I should be more scared than laughing at it.... hehe

Hi Heather. I hope you are doing well. Yes, there are a few versions of wall squats in the STS series. This one that you saw involves dropping below 90 degrees for a second to pick up your weights. You will notice on the DVD that I tell people if it bothers their knees that it is not necessary to go all the way down and put the weights down. You can simply hold onto the weight the whole time and go down to a 90 degree limit level (or even stay a hair above the 90 degree angle if your knees prefer). I include this version because dropping a bit below 90 degrees will kick in the "glute factor" just a hair more. But again, if your knees have sensitivities, it is not something you need to be doing. The exercise provides plently of benefit without the deep drop. Glad you enjoyed the clip. Take Care!

Loved viewing this clip while I was taking a break.... Several of those moves sure look like ones from that Lower Body Blast class.... Hmmm. I know I'm in serious trouble. I haven't worked the lower body in over a month.... Yikes!
