I did SS Bootcamo today. I enjoyed it.

Shelley - I am with you to getting back to normal life. I am a creature of habit and want to get back to routine.
 
Hi everyone. Happy New Year. I tried S&S Boot Camp today but with only one riser on my step. Now I am going to drink more wine.
 
Shelley -the Twilight Zones were great. They were the old black and white episodes. They are still on today!

Roselyn-please let us know what you think of the workouts.

Checking in with Ramped Up UB. I really liked it. Ryan and I are going to look at sofas then Margaret and I are going to see Sing.

Lisa, My favorite workout so far was RU UB. The weights and the number of reps were perfect. I looked at some of the extreme premix. I am not sure if I can do any of them. We saw Sing and we loved it.

I will try the boot camp today.

Hi ladies.

Checking in today with Low Max and the abs from Power Hour. I am going to mix in the new workouts this month with some of the older ones. I saw the January rotation was all the new ones repeated. So, I just going to do my own thing with them.

I started today with whole 30----yesterday didn't work out as well as I had hoped....found another box of chocolates. :eek:

Lisa---I talked with an ex school board member and she said that the district cannot check on everyone. :rolleyes: They are using the kid's aunt's address and drive him to her house every morning to catch the bus and then pick him up after school. I'm praying they will soon tire of doing this especially with the bad roads. I think the girl that has been harassing Abby would stop once she didn't have a partner in crime.
Yummmmm.................wine!!!! That is the hardest part of Whole 30 for me.

Kathy---Thanks!! Abby ignores them for the most part but they can get pretty nasty. I saw the January rotation and it looks too repetitive for me too.

Shelley---Do you still need a passport to get back into the US? I think it's odd that a US citizen doesn't need a passport to go into Canada but to go back in to the US you do. :rolleyes: Abby has never seen the Falls and we are thinking of doing that some time this year. I've never been in the winter but have heard they are beautiful.

Saundra---HI!! Did you get the new Strong and Sweaty workouts?

Roselyn---are you following a particular rotation for the S&S workouts?

Saturday-----rest day---felt soooo lazy!!
Sunday----SS Bootcamp + abs I cannot do that darn side plank exercise for anything. It hurts my wrist so badly....back to wearing my brace....grrrr.
Today was RU UB Love this one!!!

I think I'll do a week of SS/then Xtrain/SS again/BodyBeast
So far I'm liking the new workouts!! :cool:
 
Ok so today was bootcamp I really liked the workout, I am following along from the S&S user guide which may be the Jan rotation also so tomorrow is ramped up upper body
 
Sing was awesome. We really enjoyed it!
This morning was Cardio Slam. I really liked this workout.
Does anyone else dislike the music in S&S? I really do not like it. When I was working out this morning Ryan was leaving for work and came to say goodbye and said WOW that music is awful lol.
 
I do not like the music at all. I did PHAT yesterday and I swore while I was setting up that the intro music would haunt me long into the hours of my sleepless nights. It was just awful. I also do not want to rain on the parade but the PHAT live workouts for me are much more challenging than yesterday's S&S version. Of course it could be because I only used two risers. I am typically one riser less than the crew no matter what the workout is. I attribute it to my shortness although I shouldn't as I am the same height as Cathe. Well she is much lighter than me so there you go!

I read that there is a misprint on the Cardio Slam workout - it's 49 minutes not 40. Well the PHAT workout was supposed to be 49 minutes and I think it was over in 40 so perhaps their times are switched.

I also did the bonus abs and liked them up until the plank combo at the end. I too am currently having a wrist problem on my right hand and this move just killed my wrist.

Lisa I just love Twilight Zone. My favorite is "Time Enough" where the bespeckled bank employee never has time to read his beloved books because his wife is such a nag. So he goes into the bank vault to read and there is an apocalypse - he is the only one saved on the planet so now he stumbles to the still-existing library and has all the books in the world to read and no one to stop him, then he cracks his glasses and cannot read a single word. It is so pathetically sad! The one with Billy Mummy where you cannot say anything wrong to him or he turns on you is scary.

The library one reminds me of me - someday I will be all alone and have all the time in the world to exercise but I will be too old and stiff to do so.

Susan you now need a passport going and coming. Please let me know if you come to town.

Right now I am just trying out the workouts to see what I think of them. But I am not giving up my Cathe Live. I still find it more challenging than dvds although the general consensus in these forums is that Live is easier. Not for me!

I would love a rotation that has Live / Xtrain / RWH / S&S / LIS. I wonder if there are any Live rotations here but don't really have the time to search.
 
I have only watched portions of Cardio Slam and the music sounded like dance music by DJs Calvin Harris and Steve Aoki. Like what we called Techno. LOL

Shelley---Thank you!! I found so many different rules on the internet. I would not come to the Falls without letting you know!! How far away from them are you? We would like to do both sides. I've been to the Canadian side a few times but never the American side.

Lisa---we would like to see Sing and Rogue One. We went to see Why Him. :eek: Funny but too much sexual content. I think it would have been just as funny without so much of it.

Roselyn---I didn't compare the rotations but thought the Jan rotation looked like the one in the user guide, too.

Checking in with 60 min running/walking on the Treadmill. I did incline intervals.....my legs were screaming at the end. Hope they're not sore tomorrow....PHAT on tap.

Today was PHAT. Not terribly hard but I liked it. I could not go as heavy as I would have liked due to the pace of the workout. Again, the music is awful.

I still have not signed up for Cathe live. I really need to get going. How do all of you get access to it? Just hook your laptop to TV?

I really don't like to criticize when a new series comes out as I know that Cathe and her people work really hard and cannot please everyone. That being said, this new series seem to lack good premises. For example, I would have liked a premix that included abs mixed into PHAT. It seems that would flow nicely. I LOVED both RWH and ICE so I think anything would have been a let down.

Susan~ I cracked up on your Calvin Harris/Steve Aoki comment. So true. It's just not my type of music. We steered away from My Him as I thought that would be the case.

Shelley~ Time Enough is SO frustrating to me! Why doesn't his wife just let the poor man read?? I can understand his boss not letting him do it at work but come on! I have so may favorites. There was also a bunch that they ran this year that we never saw before!! I know that this is not "normal" but I do not function well with so much time on my hands. I need to be busy almost all the time. That's why I do not know if I could ever fully retire.

Susan thank you for those rotation links - this weekend when I am home I will review them. I appreciate that a lot.

Going and coming for Canada you need either a passport booklet (good for air and land) a passport card (good only for land) or a Nexus card which allows use of the express bridge with no wait times. You can also use an enhanced driver's license but I am not sure how other states issue those.

I have a passport booklet, a passport card, and a Nexus card because of living on the border and going across frequently. I do not have an enhanced driver's license and don't really need it because of the other forms I have.

If I step outside my office building into the street, I can see Canada - the gorge that separates the countries, the casino and ferris wheel and all the hotels etc. right from here including the one I met up with Kiran at two years ago. I am five minutes from the bridge. I so hope you will come and I am coming your way in summer.

Lisa - in Time Enough, he had what used to be called a typical nagging wife so it stands to reason she would not let him read. I tried to find some episodes on TV last night but couldn't. What channel are they on? SciFi? All I could find was Lost In Space - remember that series or are you too young - "danger danger Will Robinson" (played by Billy Mummy too)

I missed out on workouts the past two mornings. Having a really tough time transitioning back to the regular work day after all the holidays. I too typically work best under pressure with limited time. When I have lots of time on my hands, I either find more to do or I slack off, but when I am under time constraints I move like the wind. Lisa we must have at least been cousins in our past lives.

I wasted two years not getting Cathe Live because I am not a techy person and I could not find anyone to help me with it. Then two months ago our IT manager told me all I had to do was bring my laptop downstairs and connect it to my TV with a USB cable. To me he was talking Greek but I tried it, albeit I had no expectations of it working. Then I turned on the TV and VOILA big as life was Cathe and her gym crew. I have been in love ever since. There is one particular girl that gives it her very very best and never misses a class. I was so wishing that someday Cathe would honor her with a spot in a regular series. This girl is so faithful. I don't know her name and wouldn't mention it here even if I did, but I hope some day she gets her come uppance. I do see Nicole in all the episodes too now that I am familiar with them, and she is now in the S&S series.
 
Shelley~ Oh I remember Lost in Space. Watched it all the time! Yes the TZ were on Syfi network.

It's freezing here today and it's suppose to stay that way. I get REALLY cranky this time of year when it gets this cold. It's amazing that I have lasted in NJ for so long.

Lisa---I only know those two DJs because of Taylor Swift and One Direction!! It's great to have a teenager in the house. LOL
I honestly never use the workout blender because I've never had any luck with it. I've watched the tutorial several times but my screen doesn't look anything like the screen in the tutorial. It would be fantastic if I could figure it out!



I figured out the side plank exercise in the new ab workout. I have been trying to stay in a side plank position, which is totally wrong and also needed to have my leg closer to my butt than I had it. SO much easier!!


Thursday---PHAT + weighted abs
Friday---Cardio Slam + Bonus Abs

Loved PHAT and next time I do Cardio Slam I'm going to skip the floor cardio and try doing the mat & step work 2 or 3 times through.
