What equipment do you have and use?

Adjustable barbell with several 15 lb, 10 lb 5 lband 2.5 lb plates
Squat rack
Dumbells- 3,5,8,10,12, 15 20 and 25 lb sets
Body Bar
Resistance tubing- 3 strengths resistance
Dynabands
Weighted medicine ball
Stability ball
Treadmill (broken-won't incline)
About 100 Workout tapes and DVDs
Weight bench
high step
Club step
Heart rate monitors
Tanita scale (crap but still use it)
I think that's it

I've got
3 stability balls
3 kg medicine ball
sets of 3,5,8,10,12,15,20 weights
barbell and lots of weights (highest I go so far is 48 lb)
dynaband
exercise reclining bike
high step
club step
rebounder

I use the adjustable barbell for squats and deadlifts. I prefer the hand weights for lunges and biceps. I find the hand weights make it easier to switch to lighter or heavier to ensure my muscles are working as hard as then can with good form. I find I do all of pyramid upper body with hand weights.
If you like doing squats for definition then definitely get the bar and weights. Just make sure you can change the weights quickly. There's a special clamp you can get (really cheap) that enables you to change the weights quickly.
I use all of my equipment. In fact my bike never has dust on it or dirty clothes as it's used regularly.

WOW! Lots of equipment, and you don't realize it till you list it all.

Here's what I've got:

Club size step
High step
16 risers
dumbbells from 1 up to 35 pounders
Standard barbell and plates
Olympic barbell and plates
Plate rack and barbell stand
Incline weight bench with leg extension/hamstring curl attachment
Rubberized mats on the floor
Pro Form Treadmill
Upright Stationary bike
Nordic Track
Urban Rebounder
Ab roller
3 lb medicine ball
Stability ball
Ankle/wrist weights
2 Body Wedges
Band and tubing
Puch up bars/handles
TV, VCR, DVD player
ALL Cathe workouts plus other miscellaneous

Mine's all in my unfinished basement, but it's so cool to have it all in one accessible place!

WOW...look at all that money well-spent.

I don't have enough...but here's what I have.

Light barbell with about 40 pounds of weight (need a better one with more weight)

Dumbbells from 1 to 25 pounds
Urban Rebounder
Weight lifting gloves
Club Step
High Step (firm)
Mio Shape Heart Rate Monitor
Firm step
Dynabands in various resistances
Medicine balls in 2, 4 and 6 pounds
Eliptical machine
Stationary Bike

I work out upstairs in the Living/Dining Area, but my hubby works out in the basement and has various dumbbells and barbells, as well as a lat pull down machine, leg press and olympic bench, but he doesn't like me using his stuff. I want to get a Bowflex.

Step, High Step, 10 lb medicine ball, assorted dumbbells and a couple bands. That's it. I have no intention of getting a barbell, no room, no interest. I feel I get a good weight workout with dumbells and med ball.

I have the following:

various dumbbells (3-20#) w/rack
Troy lite barbell w/55#s of plates
2 Body Bars (12 & 18#) - don't really use these anymore
Dynaband
2 resistence tubes (grn & red)
Billy Bands (which I never use)
High Step platform
Original Step w/6 risers
Firm Fanny Lifter box (want to get rid of this)
2 size stability balls
8# med ball w/handles
2.5# ankle weights
ProForm treadmill
weight lifting gloves
jogging stroller
AND, of course, Cathe DVDs!

You really don't realize all the equipment you have until you list it all!!

I have dumbells in 2, 3, 5, 8 and 10 pound increments.
I have a stability ball.
I have the firm stick that I use as a dowel for balance.

I need to add a 12 or 15 # dumbell set now. I thought of a barbell but I really don't have the room to store one so I am opting out of that for now. All of the exercises can be performed with dumbells anyway....I also have to purchase a medicine ball one of these days but I don't really know what weight I should choose so I keep putting it off.

Could you let me know where I can find this special clamp? I have Sports Authority. It's great for weight variety. However, the lock is screw type. It takes forever to change weight.

Thanks

The clamp might not work with the screw-on bar (I had one before, and I think I tried it, and it didn't seem stable).
I've seen the clamps at some sports stores (Dick's) and even at Walmart sometimes. They also come with the Troy LIte barbell system (and you can order the clamps separately if you like. I got mine--bar and clamps-- at www.fitness1st.com )

Will the bar with clamps fit in the weight plates I have now? Are they universal regardless of brandname?

Thanks
