We're In This Together **Nov 1st - Dec 31st**

Nat I'm so excited for you! I really wanted to go to the post office today but, wo was I kidding? So have you been following Jamie Eason's eating guidlines? I am gonna start. Boy when it comes to carb cycling she is very specific. I'm not sure I will be able to be so specific but I will try.

Marie - I too had a lazy day. My kids are away for the weekend and I'm still coming off of the Christmas rush. So when do you have to go back to work? Are you dreading it?

Colleen- Butts and guts was my first Cathe I ever purchased. Ive probably said that before, but I LOVE it. I dont do the guts part too often though.

I was eating really good today until my husband and I decided to make beignets. Oh well theres always tomorrow. All the talk of travelfit, I have never done it. So tomorrow to start again with Cathe that is what I will do.

Sarah

Sarah~ I go back on Jan 17th. I extended it a week. It will only be 3 days a week so that helps. I got my schedule the other day and we really only need a few days of care. Tony's mom is covering the weekend and then I think my stepmom will cover Mondays from 2 to 5. It's very minimal. I do like my job so that helps as well but I'm sure going to miss my little man!

Hello ladies!

Well, I didn't get my XTrain yet. :( I ordered almost immediately on the first day of the preorder, too so I find it a little disappointing. I remember it took longer for me to get LIS and CF/TTM too when I preordered compared to many others. Oh well. I'm not an entirely impatient person!

I'm thinking I will do Cardio Supersets today...although I may change my mind. The kids stayed over at my sisters' houses last night so Mark and I had a date night at home ;). I slept in really late and didn't get up until 9:30 . The dry air in my house has me waking up every morning all congested and with a sore throat so my head feels weird. I feel all groggy still. We even have a humidifier running in our room. I thought I had a cold for a long time but the symptoms just sort of come and go these past few weeks. :( I'm currently downing my 3rd cup of coffee in an effort to shake the cobwebs outta my brain.

Marie- B is SO cute! :D He looks like such a happy baby! Love it! That is awesome you will be able to work your schedule so that you won't have to deal with much daycare. That is the absolute hardest part of having kids these days! I had a really tough time with that since my MIL and mom aren't so dependable that way. They helped out some with Dylan but by the time Lydia came I had to scrounge around and find an in home daycare for her. Very stressful and expensive! Once the kids were 2 years old, it became much easier to find daycare, but still expensive.
As for XTrain, I want to do a version of the 90 day rotation. I'm kind of designing my own version of it using Cathe's as a guide.

Sarah- Travel Fit is a perfect workout to get back into Cathe and working out! I use that one all the time when I'm feeling overtrained and want something that will still make me sweat, but isn't too hard on the body. I love that one! When I'm feeling tired, I just put less resistance on the band and if I'm feeling good I choke up on the band some to make it a little harder. It's so nice to be able to adjust the intensity that way! :D
I hear you on B&G. I rarely do the abs part of that one. I'm just not crazy about crunches and that one is chock full of various crunch type work.

Natty- It's going to be tough fitting in HC with XTrain. I sketched out January on the Workout Manager (even though I don't have the guidebook yet, I just couldn't wait to play around with it!). I could only find one day to squeeze in HC based on all the workouts I wanted to get in and the time I have to workout. I want to get at least 3 days of some sort of cardio, plus the weight days and I find that fills my calendar up pretty quick. Since I only workout 5 days a week, I had to do some days where I put in a shorter cardio premix before weights, unless I scheduled Cardio Leg Blast for my leg day and then of course the cardio is right in there. It's hard to figure out rotations!

K, better run. TTYL!!

ETA: I forgot to report my workout from yesterday! I did Atletica 2 with Ilaria Montagnari (sp?). I scored and got this one in a trade. It's a great total body workout with weights and about 45 minutes long. I really liked it! Okay, I'm really going this time...LOL

Xtrain All Out + 100 Rep Barbell Hip Thrusts!!!!

All Out - exceeded my expectations and some! No repetition, great moves, rockin' music, a lot of lactic acid in my legs, fun, sweaty. I swear Cathe must have read my mind as it truly resembled my fav Low Impact Hiit section from Intensity :D. The step section was FUN, and I was happy to see some moves from Low Max & SJP. The S&G section BURNED my legs & glutes! Only 1 set of mountain climber's which I didn't mind because it was only 1 set :D. No plank exercises, which REALLY made me want to kiss Cathe :D. Not as hard as Afterburn, but that's just fine and dandy by me ;). NO DREAD! Overall I give this w/o an A.

Barbell Hip Thrusts - Ha, ha, ha. HOLY MOTHER------. I started out with 30lbs thinking I was a star or something. My neck started to ache after the 30th rep, as you must keep you head up and in good alignment. I'll have to work on that. Midway through the reps I went down to 25lbs. By the 80th rep I just wanted to give up, my neck and butt were hurting so badly. I paused for a bit and continued. IT WAS KILLER! Be sure ladies to have a mirror and check your form with this one. I would also start off with a lighter #, then adjust accordingly for next time.

BBL For personals!!! Gotta go get cleaned up

Loving all those baby pics! B is such a sweetie :). Does he like "toys"? Bella would never play with them . Her personality never really changed -- she still is not a fan of most toys.
I can't believe you are going back to work already! Here in Canada we are very fortunate to have 1 year maternity leave. Most take it, but some (especially those with careers, like you) want to go back earlier.

Sarah
I have not been following Jamie's eating to a T, but I'm doing the best I can. I'm eating protein at every meal, and trying to make my meals as clean as possible. Her recipes are awesome! I've already made coconut protein bars and chocolate protein cake. My pants have loosened up and my stomach looks a bit flatter, so that's an added bonus :D. I truly think though that weight training makes all the difference for me. I've been lifting moderate-heavy and I can see more visible muscle definition.
Congrats on the Cathe Vest BTW!

Colleen
I'm surprised you did not receive your Xtrain yet . I'm sure it will be in the mail early this week. Fingers crossed!
Nice to hear you and Mark had a date night ;). I really miss sleeping in :(. My kid is/always has been, a very early riser.
Sorry about the nasal congestion and sore throat. I get that too every so often. Hope it passes soon :).
I will not be doing any of Cathe's official Xtrain rotations. Some of the days have 80min w/o's! That just does not fit my schedule. This program is probably the most versatile series CAthe has ever designed, so I'm sure it will be no problem to fit in your HC's. The user guide is phenomenal! I great little bonus :D.
Do you want me to send the user's guide to your email account?! It's a PDF file.

Have a good one ladies!

Well I did it. I did TravelFit. I liked it. It was a great first DVD back into working out again. I also did it with my mom which was fun. I initially bought it for her anyway for some strength trainning when she had all her knee problems. She liked it too and seems to think she wouldnt mind doing that in conjunction with Zumba (which is still bothering her knee but is unwilling to give it up). Anyway I wont mention how much stength Ive lost. I will mention how excited I am about getting back to it.

Marie - Thats awesome you like your job and youll only be putting in 3 days a week. I think thats a great way of going back in the beginning rather than having to just go back to 5 days right from the get go. I had always planned on going back to work after having my daughters but when the company fired me while I was on maternity leave it was the best thing that happened to me. But I am aware staying at home is not for everyone and am finding out that now that the kids are older sometimes I feel bored and may need something else in my life. B is so cute thtanks for posting all the cutie pics. My kids had a toy mat very similar to that. They loved it as well.

Nat - I will try those recipes. I believe weighs makes all the diff. with me as well. But am wondering if that carb cycling would help a that sticky point that I get at 118 - 120lbs. Of course now I will have a ways before I get back to that sticky point. The 20lb weight vest doesnt seem like to much but for some reason it feels like a ton. I put it on and tried to do some push ups and barely managed to do 2. Not good! Oh well. If I knew I was gonna have HS internet I would have gotten the download at the same time because I remember it being not to much more with both, am I wrong?

Colleen - My nose has been killing me also. I attributed to my dog shedding. It never occured to me the dry air. I'm sorry you havent gotten X-train. Hopefully tomorrow youll get lucky. I'm hoping tomorrow too, but I think its highly unlikely. I'm going to do the 90 dya rotation as well. I would also like to squeeze in HC once a week. Glad you and Mark got a date night. They are so important for Tristan and I

Quickie post!

I just finished Cathe's Cardio Core Circuit. I was going to do Lauren Brooks volume 1 but I thought if XTrain comes today I'm going to want to do a weight disc tomorrow. I thought I'd better do some straight up cardio and save myself for that.

BBL to post more if XTrain arrives! Wish me luck!!

Happy New Year!! Feeling positive for next year. Plan to start XTrain on Wednesday.
Shutting down my blog and getting off of social media on the 3rd. My intuition is the reason.
By end of January, I should know if I'm staying in Michigan for work or moving to Ft. Worth. An extended family member would like me to work for my cousin's husband in a depressed area of MI. If it doesn't work, I would be stuck in an area worse than where I'm at now.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

A year?! Wow I wish! We only get 12 weeks and in reality only get paid 60% of our pay for 6 weeks for a vaginal birth and 8 weeks for a c section. It goes way too fast. I feel fortunate that I only have to go back part time. I have a girlfriend that had a baby around the same time I did and she has to go back full time. I just couldn't imagine.

B isn't into toys too much yet but hopefully will be. He does like lights and noises though. We got a light up guitar and a drum for Xmas and he digs those. He has been holding onto things too :) So fun to see him grow up although it's going too fast already. I have to break out the 3 to 6 month clothes soon.

I just ordered....

Travel Fit
Low Max
Low Impact Circuit
Drill Max
Intensity
High Step Training
Circuit Blast

And...

A set of bands

All for....

20% off :)

Happy New Year to me :)

Happy Cathlete!

Happy New Year's Day!!

Marie-Great choice on workouts, I love Low Max and Low Impact Circuit.
Love all of Cathe's workouts. Love the pics of B too.

Hope everyone had a good evening :). I'm a boring mom, I went to bed early . My sleep is more important than celebrating these days :).

I am going to my mom's for a New Year's Day lunch. I'm not really looking forward to it, as she usually play's the "woe is me" the entire time. What really bother's me is that she bugs to see Bella all the time, and in the end she never even plays w/her. Oh well, I will try to make the best of it.

No workout for me today, which is a good thing because I'm sore as heck! I did Hard Strikes yesterday and really enjoyed it! Very simple, basic, straightforward Boxing moves (jump rope, jacks, punching, hooks, jabs, upper-cuts) yet very effective. I felt as though I was in a real Boxing session, except with kick-butt music. Those looking for "more" might be let down. The UB/Core toning section fried my abs! This section is also very basic, including plain ol' sit-ups & push-ups, but man did it work me! I felt as though I was in Rocky . Good stuff :D.

Jen
Sorry that you have decided to quit your blog and social media. You know what's best, so perhaps the road you're taking is the better one. I know many who have gotten so caught up in their blogs, and in the end they decided it was just too much. One friend I follow, she has not posted in over 4 months. I think people can be very finicky and critical sometimes. I KNOW 2013 will be a lucky year for you :). Bella was born on the 13th and she has brought me nothing but good luck and happiness :).

Marie
Sorry about the short maternity leave :(. I think it's unfair to rush the mother back to work, especially since the first year of a babies life is so critical. Also, some babies are still waking up (who am I kidding, most babies) at night to feed. A mother is still going through all these post-partum changes and sleep deprivation, and yet they have to deal with that plus work, just sucks . In Canada, 1yr maternity just became the law not even 6 years ago. At least you are only going back p/t, so that's good :).
Congrats on your new Cathe purchases! Low Max is THE BOMB!
Love the pic of B! He is super, super, cute cute :)

Morning all!

Natasha- Good luck with your mom today. You're a good daughter for going over there. My dad and I have an odd relationship and I know sometimes I just need to suck it up and make the best of it. Hard at times!

I killed it this morning with IMAX 3 and disc 1. Back on STS! Those push-ups rocked my world! I barely made it through the first set without dropping to my knees. Apparently someone needs to work on lifting a bit more. Looking forward to some good results. My friend did disc 1 yesterday and was super impressed. She is new to Cathe. She knows I'm obsessed and will hopefully be joining in tthat soon ;)

Happy New Year ladies!

I got XTrain yesterday! I was bummed though, as the spindle of the first 2 discs was broken so they were loose in the case. The actual dvds were secure so I think they were okay. I emailed SNM right away and it sounds like they are going to send me a new set right away :)

I went ahead and did the Legs disc today. I did the longest premix with all the sections and the rear delts. I liked it, but it didn't quite feel challenging enough. I think next time I'm going to go with heavier weights than Cathe on the standing section. I loved the stability ball and chair section! Not so much the barre and floor sections...but that's just me. My dread for those forms of leg work is still intact! LOL She does a whole part on the floor where she is on all fours. I tried to modify by doing the moves in sort of a down dog/high plank but it just plain wasn't enjoyable. :(

I also previewed part of Low Impact Hiit and I can already tell that one is going to get ALOT of use!

Tomorrow I want to do SuperCuts, and then the next day probably Chest, back and shoulders. I wanted to dive into one of the rotations but I think these first few weeks I will just immerse myself in these workouts and exploring every last section! lol Once I feel I've checked everytning out, then I plan to start a formal 90 day rotation, but I need to figure out how I'm going to include HoCo with it.

How did everybody's NY Eve go? We had our neighbors, my sister and BIL over and did our annual crab fest dinner. We go nuts and also make shrimp and fish as well as baked potatoes and all kinds of snack foods. It's a feast! Then we played Catch Phrase, which is fun but can be a pretty stressful game sometimes! LOL

yeesh, running out of daylight here! No time for personals but I hope everyone is loving their new workouts and having a great New years day! I did want to say quick though, Marie I am so impressed you got your mom and friend to try Cathe! How awesome that your friend is going to do STS with you! If I could get one of my sisters on the Cathe train I would totally hold off on XTrain and do whatever they wanted to try with them!

Natty- should we start a new thread for the new year? You guys wanna do a monthly check in?

Today I plan on SuperCuts...likely a premix with core section and hopefully the 100 rep hip thrust challenge! :D Gotta get the kids off to school first, though. BBL to post more!
