Weight Watchers - First week of February

Morning Ladies. I don't know what's wrong with me today. Step Moves beat my butt today. I didn't even start sweating til 12 minutes into it, and I just quit right into the third cycle. I'm tired. Don't know why - lights out at 9:40 last night. Maybe it's all that cornbread I had at dinner last night. Bread does tend to weigh me down. I don't know. My cycle is almost over so normally, that's when I have the most energy. Oh well. I'll be sure to eat for energy today and get in bed on time again.

More later.

Melissa: we shall conquer this beast together!! Rah!

Jennifer - YES WE WILL!!!! :D We just have to hang in there until we figure it out. And I agree with you 100%: if this thread didn't have so much great energy, I probably would have thrown in the towel already.

I ended the day yesterday with 33 points. And I have to say it felt really good to go to bed knowing that I accounted for every single morsel I put in my mouth. And I want to re-live that feeling tonight and every night until I figure this thing out. Small victory for me today: my dress pants are actually comfortable... Last time I wore them they were a tad snug.

It's snowing here again. Ugh. Supposed to get 6-9" today and then 10-15" tomorrow. Fun stuff!!

I'll BBL to post my menu when I figure out what we are having for dinner.

Hey Jennifer! Good for you for not giving up. It looks like your menu is really balanced & you're making healthy choices, so perhaps eating more of your WP will make the difference. Its counter-intuitive to what we're used to. When I first started the plan I wasn't touching my APs or WPs. I got a little e-mail from WW reminding me to use them. I thought that was really interesting, but I didn't really believe it. But, last week I used all my WPs and most of my APs and was down .6 - so maybe WW knows what they're talking about.

Instead of choosing processed, packaged foods, reach for something healthier to make up for your extra WPs. I did that last night - I had two DPs left. I could have had a chocolate or cookie, but I decided to have 1/2 cup yoghurt, 1/4 cup bulgur and 1/2 cup blackberries. A much better choice I thought!

Anyways, I know how frustrated you feel - we all do!

Shereta - I hope you get some rest - sounds like your body is telling you to rest when your mind is saying "I can do so much more!" I'm finding this winter to be really draining, and really have to force myself to rest and take it easy when I feel that I need to. On Saturday & Sunday I have never felt so weak & tired. So I slept a lot, didn't work out at all, and felt much better by Monday.

Let's keep it up! We're bound to figure this new plan out!!

Melanie: great suggestions! I'm going to have to rewire my thinking and reach for healthier snacks with my extra points :).

Melissa: yeah!! I love when clothes fit better. Never get tired of that result!

Off to run for 20 min, then hope on the elliptical for 30.

Group! Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately but I've been really enjoying the thread and everyone's stories and struggles.

I'll BBL - probably much, much later since I'm many miles from home and it's snowing like all get-out right now. :(

Quick question in the meantime...has this happened to you? I eat the same thing every morning at the same time practically. Yesterday I was fine until lunch. Today I've been hungry since 9:00! This happens a lot.

I keep fruit with me and I've had my clementine...saving that apple for the long ride home....but man, it's going to be a long wait until lunch.

I don't get it.

Hi to all, I hope you don't mind me jumping in on your check in.

I've been following your check in from the beginning.
I've been doing ww for about 4 weeks now. I've loss 7lbs so far. This is a major accomplishment for me. I am hypothyroid and losing weight has been difficult.

I too live in MA near the NH border. We are getting walloped with snow right now.

I see that everyone shares their food and workouts.
Well this morning I did about 30 min of Athletic step, then hopped on the elliptical and did CC vol. 4 and STS TB abs. I earned 11 APs.:D

I am trying to eat all my DP and WP but not my APs.

I'll BBL to log food. I have to go watch for the buses. My boys have early release. They probably should of had no school, that would have been safer.

Elaine - welcome! Glad you decided to join us. You've had great success so far. Good for you!!! Nice workout this morning, btw..:)

I decided what we are having for dinner tonight so here is my menu for today:

B: 4 egg whites, 5 oz sweet potato, 1/2 c 1% milk
S: apple
L: 1 cup chili
S: two slices light whole wheat bread, 3 slices low-salt deli turkey, mustard
D: 6 oz 93% beef (meatloaf :)), 1/2 c cooked brown rice, steamed brocolli & carrots, 1 c 1% milk
S: 1/2 c free cool whip, WW lemon cream pie yogurt

This comes to 30 points. Only one over... I'll add something small somewhere. Maybe a T of peanut butter...yummy!

Planning on a Cardio Coach tonight and ShovelMax, of course...:p I should wear my HRM to see how many calories I burn between today and tomorrow!!

Welcome, Elaine. You are doing really great so far. Yes, we like posting what we ate. It gives us ideas and keeps us accountable.

Melissa, grreat job on tracking everything you ate. Be careful in all that snow. And yeah for clothes fitting better. Is ShovelMax where you shovel snow in your driveway or something?

Melanie, you're right about the rest. I flopped into bed at 9:15 last night, read a little and lites were out at 9:40. I was pooped. I'll shoot for that time again tonite.

Suzanne, sounds like you need to get more protein in. Maybe add some almonds to your fruit or a yogurt. I'll bet your metabolism has picked up and that's a good thing.

Thanks Shereta. Yes, Shovel Max is just a play on words. Like Low Max or IMax.

I've been perusing the WW message boards and I have to say I'm not diggin' the vibe over there. And what is the big deal about saying how many points is in something? You're posting on the WW site. I don't get it..

Hi Melissa - I agree with you about the WW boards. I've stopped going there because its just too discouraging. People are very negative. I much prefer our board!!

BTW - WW doesn't want people listing the points values because anyone can access those boards - you don't have to be a paying member. So they don't want to give away all the secrets to the plan to people who aren't paying.

How to reward ourselves?

Has anyone thought about how you are going to reward yourself once you reach a certain goal? I was thinking about it today and decided that once I've lost 10 pounds, I'm treating myself to a MAC make-up session and new make-up. 4.5 pounds to go!

I agree, WWers' board is a little on the discouraging side. I don't go there much, either.

I don't know about an actual reward. I'm just liking feeling more comfortable in clothes I already have. I was only using 7 outfits that I kept coordinating for a few months before I started losing.

Well, I really would like some brown boots. Yeah, that's good. I'll have to put a list together for everything 10lbs. Woohoo. Now I'm excited. only 2.5 to go.

BTW - WW doesn't want people listing the points values because anyone can access those boards - you don't have to be a paying member. So they don't want to give away all the secrets to the plan to people who aren't paying.

Okay, that makes sense then. Thanks Melanie! I like your idea of a MAC lesson and new make-up. You'll reach that goal before you know it!!

I haven't really thought about how I'm going to reward myself yet. Maybe once my weight-loss gets more consistent I'll get more excited.

Made it home! 2.5 hours of white-knuckles......

Shereta - that makes absolute sense, I wish I'd thought of it! My oatmeal breakfast does include walnuts but isn't really a high protein meal. Tucking a little protein pick-me-up into the mid-morning would probably go a long way to deal with those hungries. Although with the pms right now I feel like an eating machine!

Melissa - I think I remember someone early on saying the vibe at the WW boards was weird....I feel spoiled by the Cathe boards and the only other place I post is FB so I'm glad I haven't spent time over there.

Elaine - I'm not sure about a reward. I think it's a good idea. Someone on the OD was talking about some great sounding kettlebell workouts and I've had my eye on a yoga dvd for a while.....plus I need new / cute workout clothes...........hmmmmm:D

I think I missed a day or two of posting food but here's today:

B - oatmeal as usual (oatmeal/chia seeds/raisins/walnuts plus I include my soy coffee creamer) 9
S - clementine
L - WW rosemary and garlic pork loin / couscous / veg - 13
S - apple
S - Late July chips / kefir - 5
D - ravioli /spinach / evil Tyson chicken cutlet thing / salsa / adult bev. 19

That's 46PP for the day using 17 WP. Definite splurge day. 14WPs remaining.

OTOH I burned 292 calories doing ShovelMax this evening earning me 3 APs, LOL. Not quite enough to make up for that dinner......

Okay here's my food for today:

S. almonds - 2
B. yogurt, almonds - 4
s. banana
L. salad, chicken breast, quaker rice cake, popcorn - 11
s. apple, rice cakes - 5
d. roast beef, collards, corn bread - 16
s. ice cream, wwers cakes - 8 (oink, oink)

I definitely ate more than I intended today. Tomorrow I will obtain more APs and take in less WPs. hahahaha We'll seeeeeee......... Its Wednesday and I have 19 WPs left.

Hey, Ladies. Today's workout was IM3. (12APs) It about killed me. But I never paused the workout. Even at the beginning of the cooldown, I went into the laundry room to put clothes in the dryer and used that as part of the cooldown.

Today is Wednesday and that means burger and fries for dinner. WooooooYooooooo.

Where yall at today?

Hi Suzanne I love the idea of rewarding yourself with new workout clothes. I LOVE new workout clothes. Whenever I go shopping I always veer toward the workout clothes, and have to remind myself how much I already have!!

Shereta - Thats awesome you didn't have to pause IM3. I find the first half much harder than the second half - those plie jump things on Blast #5 really kill me.

We're having a major snow storm today, but I still managed to get into work (gotta love/hate public transport!!)

This morning was Cardio & Weights - love that one esp. the music. I felt great that I was able to complete all push-ups into side planks, and I was able to do the chest work with 15 pound dumbbells - felt really strong today.

BTW - did you guys see Cathe's rock bottom rotation? That looks awesome/wickedly hard - I think I'll do that in March once I feel stronger.

Here's my menu:

B: protein shake, banana, 1 cup oatmeal with ground flax seed, eggwhite omelette (11 pts)
S: grapes, apple
L: salad, grilled chicken with feta cheese & tomatoes, yogurt (5 pts)
S: FINN crisp bread with fat free cream cheese & sugar free jam (2 pts)
D: 1/2 cup whole wheat pasta with grilled chicken in creamy spinach sauce (6 pts)
S: popcorn sprinkled with cinnamon

Good morning everyone!

Another snow day today. It's getting quite ridiculous around here!!!

Melanie - nice job on C&W. I always forget about that one. Maybe I'll pop that in today. What a good girl you are getting into work during a snow storm...:D

Shereta - I've done the step only premix of IM3 but never the whole thing. Maybe someday. Enjoy your burger and fries tonight!!!

Not sure what my menu will be for today but I'm definetly having some peanut butter toast for breakfast...:D BBL with a full report!

Another snow day here, too!

Melanie: C&W use to be my go to WO. I haven't done it in a long time.

Suzanne: I think a reward when we meet a mile stone is a great idea. I am not sure what yet. I will have to think on it. Although, I've been eying some new WO clothes.

Shereta: Kudos to you for doing IMAX 3. I never could get into that WO. I ended up trading it.

Melissa: Peanutbutter YUM! I've been enjoying sunbutter lately.

Okay, no offical WO other than shoveling.

Not sure of my full menu.

B: Oats, blueberries, flax, agave syrup and a string cheese. of course coffee with stevia
L: turkey meatballs and spaghetti squash and an arnold thin whole wheat sandwich bread.
S: most likely an apple with 2tbsp or natural PB or Sunbutter
D: big ?
S: another big ?

I need to go grocery shopping, but with all the snow I am not going anywhere.
