Good morning! Felt like doing an old Firm today so I pulled out The Hare. Corny, but I love it!
The vestibular specialist doesn't believe I have labyrinthitis because this came on so insidiously and has been relatively mild compared to the bouts of vertigo I've had in the past. He also doesn't believe this is from a virus. He thinks I have what is now called vestibular migraines. We spent a lot of time talking about possible triggers (number one is stress/anxiety!! Gee... haven't had any of that in the past six weeks, right?? LOL!!), and foods to avoid, etc. I have a ton of info to read, and will be getting vestibular testing on January 14th to rule out any identifiable organic causes. I have a strong history of migraines when I was younger, and this is seen in older adults with that kind of a history. Makes sense. There are exercises they can teach me to help ward it off, but mostly it's avoiding known triggers, and using medication if needed. Right now (knock on wood!) I feel pretty good. Exercise is also known to help, so it's a good thing I've become so dedicated to keeping up with my workouts.
Have a great Saturday!
