User Names

This thread is fun! I have to admit my slowness when I explain my name because I couldn't figure out the set up page when I signed up. I'm glad my post isn't directly below the DNA Lady. I thought I had to use the number line and always wondered how to get an actual name. Anyhow, I used 2121 because Mick Jagger has that t shirt with 21 on it. So, many years ago, this became my favorite number. Are we allowed to say our favorite - mine is toastythemosty, I say this in my head when I am working out with weights heavily. Melissa

I have just always liked to use my own name, and the full name to boot, but not HERE because of the internet nuts who use forums like this to track down people who like to use their real names and to get them into pyramid schemes or to buy "revolutionary", bah!, products that can "change your life and the way you live it". Can you hear me snort over THAT? Watch out for the sellers of Maid in China, a tiny robotic housekeeper which is supposed to free you for more fun things. Doesn't work. She actually messes more than she cleans. She's noisy, doesn't take commands in English and I never noticed that strange odor until I took her out of the box. It WAS cool when the guy contacted me to buy How to Learn Mandarin in 7 Easy Lessons in Only Seven Days. I thought that was a "sign" since the language barrier between me and my maid was so frustrating and my house had fallen into a state of disrepair the likes of which has not been seen since the day before. BUT, and this will make you laugh. I am chuckling over it right now. It turned out she was speaking French! Can you imagine? lol! I have no ear for language, that's for sure!

And the European Bladder Control line of products, don't bother with them. They are just dreadful, I tell you!

How did you know Bobbi was not my real name? I COULD tell you the real one but then I'd have to kill you. Not really. I have just always wanted to say that. :)

I think when I tell you, it will be crystal clear. My mother was a great lover of the Irish and Irish names. Add to that she really, really really really really liked men in tights and the actor Errol Flynn she named me Flynn. My father's father was named William - they called him sweet William - and so she added a slightly more feminized Willie to that. I know she could have gone Billie but she didn't. Don't ask me why. And I met a dark haired man who's surname was a doozy. It was Woozy!

So if I use my real name I am Flynn Willie Woozee.

And though that may be true, what kind of a user name is that?

Shelley...a.k.a. Limecat...what a great idea.

Mine is a combo of my name...lisaannjam...Lisa Ann Jamison. The thought was not creative at all, but it turned out to fit quite well.

I love finding out about everyone's user name!! Boy, we all think a lot alike sometimes, don't we?:)

Alhambra is a beautiful castle I visited in Spain. I discovered that the meaning of Alhambra is "Red". I loved the sound of the word and I'm a natural redhead (freckles and all) so it just worked for me.
If you're ever in Spain, definitely go see Alhambra!

My user name comes from my love of dogs and of course, fitness. Also, when my dog Sam was found by the rescue organization he was fat. Now he's fit thanks to them. :) I only wish his brother Shiloh aspired to fitness. He has a different body type and a more laid-back personality. Sam reminds me to workout hard, not eat too much, and stay fit. Shiloh reminds me that I should be content with the body I have and not to wish I was taller and model-thin. My 16 year old dog Spring inspires me to keep active for life, even when I'm an old lady like she is. Oh, my Mom inspires me to keep active too, but I won't call her an old lady at least not in print.:p

Cathe Forum Username - Meaning or Details

Hey All,

Do you remember this thread?? Well, there are so many new folks and others have changed their username since moving to the new Cathe Nation in July 2008 -- I thought it might be fun to revive this one and share some info (again / for the first time).

♪ Cynthia aka RetroFit ♪

so howd you get YOUR name, cynthia!?

my husband calls me chefkate. he even ordered a williams-sonoma apron and had that embroidered on the front.
he likes me barefoot & pregnant in the kitchen!:p

Shelley - Great thread :)

Robin a/k/a buffetgirl - your love for Jimmy Buffet cracks me up, you need to move down here to the Keys with me so you can hear him all-the-time:D

My user name is just a reminder to myself to "Have Fun", not so original, but it keeps me happy:D

Well, my username is simply a nick name that I had since college...and has nothing to do with any kind of singing ability! My real name is Leslie and somehow Lala came from that! the 1 is because someone on this site acutally had "lala" but I have never seen a post by that person!

Wow - this is an old thread! Goes back to 2005 - I wonder where alot of these regulars have gone to...........
And for my user name - I was married in Jamaica - and I use this as my AIM name - cause I LOVE Jamaica!! So I am a Jamaica girl! :)

Michelle

Well, I'm a girl, and I work for the government! :p Yeah, I know, not so original, but it's also the name of a really corny Olivia deHavilland movie from the 40's that just cracks me up.....it's all totally innocent about girls working in DC just trying to land a husband!

I used to be mf545 but changed it to Miss Lee when the new forum was launched.

Miss Lee is a perversion of a perversion of my name given to me by amyg in the <--- thread about 3 years ago :D (do you remember that, Ame!?)

It came about after I repeatedly misspelled my name -- MICHLEE instead of Michele -- and it just sort of evolved from that. Try it -- if you say MICHLEE real fast 10 times it starts sounding like Miss Lee! :p :D

Michelle, I just read back through the old posts. (Yeah, I know. Friday night and I have no life.) I miss some of the old folks who were regulars when I first joined. Bobbi, Pinky, Red MCT, Rouge, etc. LOL at Maximus.

Have fun, I would love to join you in Key West! I was just watching this:

Cool! I'm actually in Key Largo, which is the first Key driving down from Miami, allowing me to enjoy the Keys life, but still within an hour drive from the city life in Miami. Did not realize what an old thread this is (should have known with the number of replies in it). Anyway, have a happy Friday eve :D

"Punka" is my little girls nickname! After she was born my DH was in the room and he was handing her to me and i was trying to say 'pumpkin' but all that came out was punka:eek: He told my mother who of course told my entire family:rolleyes: so punka was her nick name from that day forth. She still goes by it today!

and the 274....I was 27 when i registered here, and there are '4' members in my family!

This thread is four years old -- so funny to read!

I am Collin's Mom, pretty self explanatory. I probably could have been more creative...

I am so glad you told us!

Good idea for a thread!

Banslug...when my Beach Volleyball team was looking for a team naem to call ourselves, we couldn't agree on anything creative. So the captain had us think of a fruit - BANANA. Then an insect or bug - SLUG. We became the Banana Slugs. I shortened it to banslug for user names on almost everything I visit.

Funny thing is, we found out there is a college somewhere in the US whose mascot actually IS a Banana Slug!

Gayle

Gayle, I have always wondered what the heck your user name meant! I am so glad to finally find out!

Thanks for the info!
