The Firm's new product "The Wave" presale page up, starts 9/22

It looks interesting, but I stopped being interested in the Firms new gadgets (especially the new alternatives to the "Fanny Lifter") after the Transfirmer, which I liked, but for which they never made any new workouts after the first batch. I'm afraid it would be the same with this new gadget, and I'd get bored with the 5-6 workouts that it comes with.

No, I won't be purchasing the Wave. I am not interested in more gadgets. I really have enough. I like purchasing workouts that use what I already have.

Like Kathryn, I have the Transfirmer and would have loved for them to make more workouts but they haven't.

It looks interesting, but I'd like to see a clip or something to see how they will use it, etc. I'm sure the infomercials will be out soon if they aren't already.

Marcia.

I pretty much gave up on the Firm after the Transfirmer series and I definitely do not need any more gadgets in my w/o room but...

I think these look like fun. :D I doubt I'll preorder but I will be looking for reviews. I have a BOSU that I need to use more. Same concept only you can't rock and roll on it. ;)

It does look interesting, but I bet I'll find a lot of them in the second hand stores soon. That's when I'll buy it. Maybe.

I've never heard of The Firm, but this looks like something Tony Little has been hawking on the shopping channels. It would be fun with a glass of Cristal in my hand!

a person could go BROKE...

buying the latest and greatest in the fitness world! everyone has the next "GREATEST WEIGHT LOSS AND EXERCISE TOOL EVER MADE" it seems.. I also agree with a lot of you on The Firm... I purchased the Transfirmer and the included 4 workout DVD's and did them for awhile and got bored with them about a month or two later... have looked for more Transfirmer workouts ever since... not wild about some of their newer work and been hauling that thing around for years now! I pulled it out every once in awhile BUT, I just purchased Cathe's High Step Circuit, and revitalized its use!!! While I don't have ALL the flexibility in modifying my step heights as she does, I turn the transfirmer sideways and use one or the other risers and vwaa-laaa instant High Step. I'm working up to the ability to stack it once again, but the DOMS this week are seriously having me doubt that will be any time soon! it is however good to know that I don't have to buy MORE equipment!

I use our 3rd bedroom as my weight room with my spare bed leaned up against the wall, so the thought of more gadgets... Yikes!

keep us posted on your opinion of the product if any do buy it though! ;) I'm not the most coordinated in the world and have trouble walking on FLAT surfaces (exaggerating a wee bit for humors sake), but this probably won't be the item for me

HAPPY FRIDAY TO ALL!

Dani

I don't know, . . .I find the cueing of the instructors on the Firm very robotic and annoying. Sorta like the Stepford Wives, . .robotic women. I prefer Cathe she just seems extremely human, real, and like someone you could hug.

Oh Emily looks older than the last time I saw her. :( LOL, then again, that was a looong time ago and it was her first dvd.

Love the wave, how funny is that?! Love it. I really enjoyed the football run-type thing they showed in the preview. OMG she just said "check out X's abs; those are what yours are going to look like". That's just mean. ;)

Oh and Allie looks WONDERFUL! She's always been one of my faves, after Jen Carmen. :)

If anyone is hankering for preGT/Goodtimes Anna Benson era Firms, then V2,V3 and Tortoise and Hare are up for pre-sale. V6 Boomers is already out. And clips are on YouTube.

The Wave looks interesting, and I am still on the fence. Perhaps Christmas.

I have all the gadgets I need right now. If I can't get myself into shape with what I've got, then something is wrong with me.

I am intrigued by the Tortoise and The Hare on DVD. I have soft spot for those workouts.

Me, too!

For me, they mark the beginning of a new age of the Firm, the "Golden Age" of their best workouts, IMO. And I think the influence of Tracie Long may have done a lot in changing them in a positive way.

It would be great if they were chaptered, because there is some good floorwork on these (they're where the "Buns, Hips and Thighs" workout comes from, but there is a lot of ab work tossed in the mix, and it would be nice just to be able to access the lower-body work).

Are these going to be on DVD-R? I'm still cautious of buying anything on DVD-R, because it used to not be as good as regular DVD's, and could degrade quite quickly (as some of the original Tracie Long pre-TLT workouts did for some people).

Hmm, to me it looks like a cheap piece of plastic specially designed to make money for The FIRM. Then they'll throw together some perky instructors with Southern accents to make up some routines to use with it and loads of people will buy it so it can sit and collect dust in their basement after they get bored after trying it twice.

Or something like that.

I agree with those of you who don't need more equipmente and especially re: the number of workouts that will be produced that would use this. And I haven't used the Firm in yeeeeaaarrrsss. With all that being said, it looks fun

That's what turned me off from the firm. That and the "Stepford Wives" look they took on was just scary!!:confused:

According to Anna's website, they will be regular DVD, not DVD-R. (Yeah!)

Here's the link to all the info. $22.99 isn't a bad price for the released copies. I'd pay it. (and probably will ;))

I agree with janie1234. I have a few Firm workouts. Some are about 5 years old and 1 is about 1 year old. Every instructor sounds exactly the same. I can't stand it. How about a little personality?
