Taking it to the Max-- June 2013 thru...

Hi there! Had a nice day today off today and my friend Lisa came in on Saturday and we spent the day swimming and laying in the sun then had lunch together.
Today I did kick punch and crunch for a longer yet not a HIIT workout. Tomorrow I think will be a weight training one. Tomorrow not sure what Lisa and I will do but it was nice just having someone to vent to and listen to her vent as well. She too is a dental assistant so she knows how I feel and how it is. She also knows how hard it is working with these people around here.. Not sure if u all remember but she stayed here for a while and tried to work here in Sc with dentist and she hated it. She came home crying a lot they make you feel like crap. But that is why she moved back to WV she could not take it here. In six months she tried three places.
Anyway we had a good time. Unfortunately she leaves Wednesday. But then after that I will start working on my closets then. I have so much to do . We are on vacation this week so it is nice. But I need to organize my closet before I go back to work next week.
Katie so far daddy is hanging in there. I will go see him again in July I think .

CDawg lost last night, double elimination. But had a great season. Today I did PUB pyramid up only plus abs 30 min premix. Gotta get to sleep, GS Legs on tap for tomorrow.

I'm tired of being 20# overweight. I need to make small changes. I'm going for more water and no food after 9pm. Many times I got for chocolate late when I don't really need it.

Hi girls. Sorry I am not on here much. Went straight from dad's funeral and Alec's graduation to the kids' string program at the U of M, and it seems I am always running. Have been doing RWH hiits alternated with weight training by Traci Long and Jackie, as I can only squeeze a half hour in each day. Haven't been able to sleep well at all, so that has been rough. Tonight both Alec and imala are playing big solos, so I am nervous! I did preorder ice today, though, along with kick punch and crunch and muscle max as I don't have either.

Renee-- so glad your dad is hanging in there and that you have had some good times with a friend who understands what you are going through. ❤

Ladylep-- congrats on the games! Even if they lost one, I am sure you must be proud! You know what is weird is that I lose weight every year at this time, when I have less time to exercise! Think it is the constant running around plus the fact that fruit is in season and I could live off of it in the warm months.

IMAX 2 1-5 premix with Coremax 1 yesterday and today will be a "rest day" no wo but we will be heading for 2 errands after church before heading to my mom's to give my stepdad Father's Day cards and then to my dad's for lunch and swimming. So I still hope to get my 10,000 steps in. [emoji41]

B made the tournament B team and Hillcats 9U travel team, both baseball! We are waiting to hear on CDawg making the Hillcats 12U. JTrain starts Wayne Service Week at our church today. Then I have a free week to work on purchasing the rest of my school stuff for next year and packing up this year's school work and hopefully look at the budget and see if we can get a week at Ocean City, NJ in August.

We have sports every night this week but Wednesday but it's basically a free week except for a park date with our co op on Wednesday morning. I'm looking forward to sleeping in and going to the pool most days!

Katie- sorry you've been thru so much and rushing around. Hopefully things will calm down soon.

hi girls. had insomnia again last night, but decided to push through my workout anyway as sundays are my only day for longer ones. I did to the max extreme, no solid step, and felt like I was about ready to pass out a few times! it is super muggy here, too, but I think the lack of sleep got me. my shirt and shorts did not have a dry spot on them once I was finished! have to bring the kids to the U for another concert at 2:00. I may fall asleep during it!

ladylep-- great job on the workout! I don't have IMAX. is that one step? sounds like you have a great day planned today! congrats to all the boys on their accomplishments! hope you get to sleep in and be at the pool as much as you like. that sounds like a dream!

hi girls! still crazy busy here. almost through with the second week of the program at the U of M. Nygel played a solo last night-- first movement of the Elgar concerto. I was nervous as usual, but he wasn't and did amazing. tonight imala plays a solo and all three kids are in chamber groups. it was my rest day today, but I have been running around with errands until now. Nygel has his 14th birthday on Wednesday! where does the time go? had to go get the cake now as I won't have time during the week. I did rwh low impact hiit 2 premix 7, I think, yesterday. you do the second half of the 2nd hiit followed by the second half of the first hiit. Thursday was power yoga and MTW I did tracie long workouts. tomorrow I will do muscle max which just came in the mail-- excited to try it. do you girls have that one?

great job on the workout, ladylep! I miss biking! need to get a new bike as mine has been out of commission for quite some time.

hello renee-- I know you had a tough week with your son's birthday this week. cannot even imagine. hope you are having a peaceful weekend.

hi girls! where is everybody? guess it has been a while since I have posted, too-- we are all busy with summer! I got muscle max and did it for the first time last sunday and again this sunday-- what a burn that one is! last week I did hiits on MWF and yoga on Tuesday and Thursday. still at the u of m every day, so little time to workout on weekdays. this is our last week of it, and then imala will be leaving for philly and alec for Germany and Italy :-(. I know I am going to miss them.

we are having nygel's bday party today, so dashing around to get the house ready. I hope you girls are having a good weekend! what are you both up to for workouts these days?

oh, forgot to add that I ordered the gym style series and push pull-- excited to get those in the mail this week! has been nice to mix up new weight dvds with hiits. :)
 
Sorry I keep missing posting. Days slip by it seems. I miss my old Cathe forum on my phone. I don't know why talk a tab is so different to me I don't like posting on it much. But I love Fb lol it's easier.
Yes Katie it was hard. Not sure when those days will get better or how. I think of him every single day and many many times a day. What I have to be careful of is I tend to say how awfully unfair it is and what a young guy and he had his lie ahead of him, I have to stop myself when I start thinking that because then I do go off the deep end. It is all kind of wrong and unfair and I just have to stop myself and start saying Lord help me in my unbelief and pain. Help me to control my thoughts.
It Is hard and then to think I never get to see him in this life is hard. But I have to stop thinking about that now. So thank you for remembering.
Ok I have been trying to do what you have been doing also Katie for workouts. I love doing muscle work one day and cardio the next but I add In DVDs like flex train or something that has weights in with cardio for a Metabolic weight training so I can make sure to hit all muscles twice in one week. I do short cardio or weights if I am coming home from work so there is no excuse not to do it. I ordered a KCM DVDs one of her new ones. It is cardio pump. It has cardio 30 minutes and a weight training 30! That should behold too for my work days I am shorter on time. The other day I had two days off so what I did was double up so I can get all the workouts in that I would have done. Like muscle max I did upper body premix and a low impact HIT that evening.

Hi Katie and Renee!
We have been busy with summer camps and lots of baseball! I've been keeping up with my workouts and while the scale hasn't changed, I'm fitting into, well, just barely, some shorts that I couldn't get closed a few weeks ago. I completed the June rotation with a few modifications. Last week I did turbo barre, Tuesday was X10 fat burning circuit , Wednesday was LIS trisets total body express, Thursday was tons of walking at Hershey park, Friday was GS Legs timesaver 2 and yesterday was RWH CUB premix 7, entire routine with abs 1. Today wS a rest day and I'm not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow, I may do the July rotation but I don't have S&H so I'd have to adjust there. I have B&G on the workout calendar, I just don't know. I do like the format I did last week with legs MWF, HiiT TTh and circuit with UB on Saturday.

Renee are you on a FB Cathe group?

Katie- I've looked at MM a bunch lately but haven't done it..

I'm going to try doing the 21 day fix nutrition these next 3 weeks!

The 3 older boys have day camp this week, well, B is a camper but the older 2 are junior counsellors, which means I have to drive them every day to church by 8:30, but my step dad is bring them back by 3 daily, except Wednesday, that day is a little crowded with activities!

Lady Lep I hope the kids have fun with camp! I had antically thought when I read your post you were going to have a week to your self since kids was in camp. But I see that isn't the type of camp to stay the night.
You are hitting the workouts hard! I love the 30 minutes now lol I mean once I start I want to keep going sometimes so I can add another in but if not I at least feel like I got in a good workout and as long as I do that I am consistent.
So last night I ended up doing HIiT 30/30 I still don't want to try the 40/20 one! I am finally getting to do all of 30/30 on two risers like Cathe on that workout. I had to stop early about on the 18 minute mark doing tuck jumps but other then that I didn't have to stop! That is good for me cause I am always afraid of the HIT and x10 and tabata DVDs they are always hard for me to do every rep and not stop. I can see improvement! Finally
So anyway I think I'll do a weight workout tonight it will be a premix of something or KCM because I want only 30 to 45 minutes [emoji3]
Hope u all had a great July 4th! We did it was quiet. Just me and DS and DH and I swam all day and cleaned house the next day. Nice relaxing weekend. I didn't want it to end .

Question for u all. I had been using WEN for my hair and it did great, for a while. Then I tried a different formula and now can't afford to buy it anymore but i started noticing my hair was getting drier ! And it was not that way at first but I tried the old formula to see it it helped but it didn't ! Then I tried Loreal restoring shampoo and conditioner. My hair is getting even more drier! I mean I have NEVER had hair like this! I even went to get it trimmed the hair stylist said to just use deep conditioner it is just dry and was I sure I wanted to cut it. I don't want to but if it looks like a big poof then I may have to. But after I left there it looked better she dyed my hair and trimmed it but I washed it and now it is awful! They must have put good product in it to mask all that frizz!!
I now am thinking of using something I ordered online called organic shampoo bar, I hear it is made of oils too as a moisturizer and cleaner. I hear it is gentle for the hair . It was not expensive really since it last a long time. It is 6 dollars a bar. Do any of u know about or tried it or heard about it before?
I hate dry fuzzy hair! I hope it isn't my hormones or lack thereof. I am on estrogen to help with the female hormone so I hope it is just being in the pool and sun.
If u all have any ideas let me know. I have started putting oil in scalp and bend over and massage it in for four minutes. I also heard that helps with growing the hair out as well! Lol I will do it for a week the massage but the oil only every three days . I try not to wash my hair to much since it is so dry I want natural oils. I will let u all know how that goes! I heard it grows and inch in a week.

Yesterday was the first day of Clue Camp and it went well. After dropping them and going to the library for a craft (Messy Mondays) for Little K, we went home and I did Burn Sets shoulders and B&G premix floor work and abs, but I didn't double anything and skipped the abs, so instead of being almost an hour it was about 30 min. So total time was about 45. I wonder if the Workout Blender would have worked for me had I had on demand. This is what I would have liked: warm up from B&G then BS shoulders, then floor work and cool down from B&G OR warm up from XTrain Legs either BS shoulders or the rear delts from Legs and then barre and floor work. I would love to see the on demand have premixes and work with the workout blender! That would probably be the kicker for me to buy it. Since I would love to try pieces of STS but don't want to shell out the $$$!

I have a nasty cold, so no wo for me today. I knew something was coming when I wasn't feeling good at Hershey and it took me a couple of days to recover and even at the Fourth party (my FAVE holiday) people asked if I was feeling ok, I just thought I was tired, but I did have a tickle in my throat. Then by Saturday night I knew it was a cold. Stuffy and runny nose with a cough. No fun!!!

Hubby and I were supposed to celebrate our anniversary early today, childcare lined up but I ended up sleeping from 1:45 until 6! I was thinking about doing Slide and Glide today, (HiiT 40/20 was on the rotation/schedule) but I am just going to take it easy today. I don't know what I'll be up for tomorrow.
 
hi girls! still running around with this string program here and squeezing in my workouts on the weekdays. yesterday I did low impact HiiT scrambled mix 1, today I did shiva rea yoga. I get lots of walking in at least while I am down at the U, and I have been losing some weight as my pants are all loose. that always happens to me in the summer, but I am wondering if it is also since I went off of the pill. anyway, whatever it is, I will take it! also, our meals are very planned out since we are gone all day. I have a smoothie for breakfast and then usually a sandwich on sprouted bread with fruit for lunch, then a salad with a veggie burger for dinner. it is quick and easy, and all I have time for right now. there isn't time to snack during the day and I normally am starving by the time we get home at night, so dinner happens right away at 6:30 and then I don't eat anything more. anyway, would be good if I could keep this up during the rest of the year, but would be too hard when I am at home, I think.

renee-- imala likes the wen line! she says it is the only thing that keeps her hair from dredding up and being completely frizzy. she also likes coconut oil. I like the morocco method products. they are all vegan with no weird chemicals-- you could actually eat their hair products. even still, when it is super humid my hair just gets all crazy and there isn't much I can do to tame it. happy to hear that you had a nice fourth!

ladylep-- so sorry you have come down with a cold! summer colds are the worst! I am always curious about the workout blender, too, but think our wifi connection is too hit or miss to try it out. I imagine the kids are all enjoying their summer camps. hope you get the chance to rest up and get rid of your cold.

better get the laundry done. Nygel plays in another master class tomorrow, so he needs his dress pants cleaned and pressed. it will be a relief once we make it through the rest of this program, although I am not looking forward to having both imala and alec so far away from me!

Okay I did cardio and weights yesterday and day before on Sunday I did a HIIT 30/30. I think I didn't do anything Monday ! Gosh I can't remember if I did or not ! I thought I did. Anyway I hope I did cause I hate having to skip days.
Wow Lady Lep you read my mind! I had wanted the workout blender and the on demand to go together to. Although not sure still how I would get it to stream into my exercise room. I have thought of some nice premixed I would try!

Katie that is awesome you pants are loose! Mine was but then It seemed to get tighter ! But not to much and then last few days lose again! Lol maybe water weight. I do not eat a lot so I am not sure why I go up and down.
Yes I used coconut oil in my head to massage it in. It still so dry! I hate touching it ! Grr !
I hope u have a great anniversary with hubby when u do celebrate. Where do you think you guys will go or do ?

Hopefully we will play golf, he plays a lot and I play once a year with him. I wish it could be more but it's a lot of time and money! And hopefully out to dinner. I really like Bonefish but often we go where we have gift cards. :)

I'm still feeling sick so I'm not sure if I will wo today. I have just Little K until I need to pick up B and possibly CDawg at 2:30 from camp and then have a bunch of driving around for sports and youth group tonight. [emoji2]

hi girls! the program at the u of m is over! now I only have the alec and imala here for a short while before they are off to other string programs: imala leaves for philly on Saturday and alec leaves for germnay on the 22nd. I will miss them! the program at the u was very long, but we do get to spend time together-- like having lunch outside every day. I will miss that! anyway, it is nice to not be running so much. I haven't caught up on any sleep, though! it is super hot and muggy here and so we keep the bedroom door open with our room a/c running. last night I had our cat and bugsy jumping into the bed! super tired, but guess I will catch up on sleep once this sweaty weather leaves, which sounds like it won't be until next week sometime.

I did kick punch and crunch today and it felt brutal in the hot house and on little sleep. I think it was even more intense, too, because I did supersets yesterday with even heavier weight than cathe at times and I have DOMS like you would not believe today!! everything is sore! I can't remember when I have had it this bad, at least for a very long time. anyway, liking the new for me workouts. will do the gym style series next week with hiit. tomorrow I have to be at the U of M with alec for his orientation early in the morning, so may have to take an unwanted rest day. then I want to get push pull in one day and maybe a hiit and a leg the other days. will see what happens.

how are things, renee? is your hair behaving ;-)? think I need to get something for imala to take with her to philly for her hair. I know it is super humid there, too. at least her dorm is air conditioned, though. hope all your fur babies are doing well!

We ended up going out to the driving range on Friday night B was at practice and then went to Bonefish for dinner then to the mall (not THE mall King of Prussia) but one that is 15 from home not 35! And I finally got some new shorts, I'm a loose 10 for most shorts, but did but the jean shorts I got in an 8! Tight but I like them that way!

So no wo yesterday. Today I did super cuts premix 38 min first part with abs1. I do like metabolic workouts! GS Legs is on the rotation tomorrow, I'm might or I might not. I'm still coughing a lot so it might be good.

So I was wondering, is there a searchable listing of all her workouts and premixes? I started a spreadsheet years ago, but haven't touched it since XTrain. Because sometimes I want to search by time and type of wo. I would love to be able say I'm interested in 40 min max, hiit and abs, or total body 45 min, or metabolic 30 min, or upper body with abs 40 min max. But then what would go under hiit, tabatacise, interval training, or are those the same? I could get too complicated...

Gotta get to sleep!

hi girls! hope you all are having a good day! I am still here with MAJOR DOMS-- my abs feel like they are on fire! think it was the ab work in supersets initially, but then the abs in KPC where you use the weight on the ball-- my upper abs are totally fried. anyway, was not even thinking I would workout today as I am so sore everywhere, but did legs and glutes and that was intense. thinking I may not be walking tomorrow! :p

ladylep-- glad you guys had a nice night and congrats on the shorts!! I would love a list like that, too. wonder if such a thing exists somewhere?
