STS first time!

Carolyn---I just watched a preview on High STep Training. No I don;t have that one, I have High Step Challenge. It looks like a really good workout. I will have to add this to my want list too. Dang girl, you are spending my paycheck quickly today!!!! :)

Burn and Build is definitely a good butt workout!:p All those lunges and high steps and swings really work it good! I do have High Step Training but I only did it one time. I keep thinking I need to try it again. I remember being disappointed in the lack of variety for the lower body as it just kept going back to leg presses in most every cycle. I was at a point where I was doing LBB constantly and was so spoiled by the variety of leg exercises in that one! I really need to give HST another chance though!

Yes, Jean definitely post! Even just small talk! ;)

I wonder if Betty will be back soon? Mary, how are you doing out there??

Hi my virtual girlfriends!

Got back late aft yesterday. How is everyone? I was reading most of the posts on my tiny iPod screen while I was away, so I'm going to go back and re-read everything.:D

Hmm, don't know the difference betw high step training and high step challenge. Don't have the topper yet, so I've never tried them.

First thing I thought yesterday while watching all that mindless, trashy tv on the airplane screen was, I'll ask the gals: Caught an episode of Dr Oz (don't usually watch it) and he mentioned anti-aging supplement, so I was all ears:D. Anyone hear of or take L-carnosine? He said: "It can help improve your eyesight and will help you get your vitality back. This pill can take your body back 10 years to help get rid of wrinkles and make your skin look and feel better." Doesn't that sound like a miracle??

Oh, and Shaun T was on that episode. He is smokin' hot.

I did watch the clips of the new Cathe dvds just now. Rather similar to moves on her previous workouts. Looks like my knees will be protesting. I'm sure I won't be disappointed though. Just need to move around, which I haven't worked out this week yet! Had to hit the supermarkets with a kid in tow this morning.

My sister is a daily weigher. While I was in CA, I used my other sister's scale. Speaking of fluctuations, my weight and body fat % changed each of the three times I stepped on it, all within seconds of one another! So Missy, I'm glad your hubby took your scale away. You have demonstrated dedication and will, so I'm not worried you'll fall off the wagon.

Carolyn, that was some adventure on your boat with the looming t-storm! Yikes!

Anyway, I better get going and do some chores. It's hard to waste time on the computer when my kids are home--don't want to set a bad example.

Everyone, celebrate your toned physiques, especially in bathing suits and summer clothes!

Can't seem to delete my ticker.

Catch you all later.

Ahhh, lemme tell ya...a good chiropractor is worth their weight in gold! I had some time between patients so I snuck out and got in for a quick adjustment and my neck feels so much better. I popped a few ibuprofen for the residual muscle inflammation/tenderness and I feel right as rain! Thank goodness!

Welcome back Betty! Off to google this supplement you're talking about!:p

Hi Everyone!

I did a live yoga class today during my lunch hour. The teacher seemed bored, so the class was kind of boring. The instructor makes such a difference! Anyway, when I got home from work, one of my girls had made chocolate chip cookies. The house smelled great and they were still warm, and I ate 2! Could not resist. Then I decided I needed to burn something off so I did S&H shoulders. Wow, my shoulders were on fire for that one! I am again having trouble lifting my arms!

Exciting about the shipping. I don't get a notice because I do 1st class. Maybe they'll be here in time for the weekend. I think they do ship in presale order, but not positive. Which of the new workouts will you do first? I think I will do To the Max, that crossfire looked scary! But so many premixes!

I don't have High Step Training, but I don't have a High step either. I use a chair when I have to do step ups.

Missy, I am glad your husband took your scale away. I remember years ago when I just used to diet and not exercise as much, I was feeling in a really good mood and decided to step on the scale. It had not gone down as much as I expected, and my mood instantly deflated. Now I only weigh myself when I go to the drs office, I don't even own a scale.

Colleen, glad your neck is feeling better. My mother-in-law was a chiropractor, but I never let her adjust me.

Welcome back Betty!

Good Evening....I got so busy this afternoon at work, I never got around to posting!!! We had a small leak (roof) at work so I was dealing with roofers. Then it was time to go home! SO I quick jumped in the truck and headed to the woods, cooked dinner, exercised, showered, and here I am.....

Welcome back Betty!!!

Mary---I too choose 1st class. I like free shipping!!!! I did order on the first day, so maybee it will be here this weekend. That would be so awesome!!! I want to do Cross Fire first!!! I like to jump head first into danger!!! hahaha

Carolyn---OMG, you got sucked into HC too. All I can say is get ready....It is HARD!!!! The first time I did Vol 1---I thought man...this is hard and then she said ..... we are ALMOST warmed up!!!! And, then I new I was in trouble...I was already drenched!!!

Colleen---I too go to the chiropractor from time to time. Luckily I have not had too lately. But, if my back gives me fits I always pay him a visit and then I am much better.

Okay---tomorrow my bosu will arrive....YEAH!!!

Off to lay down, I am so tired. Need my beauty rest tonight!!!

P.S. The new dvd's have not shipped yet. The girl received shipping notice on a backorder item, she made a mistake. The dvds should arrice tomorrow and then they will start shipping!!! :D

Carolyn, you never cease to crack me up!:D I too feel the same way and don't want to be caught on the computer! I love it, but can't be seen spending hours on it. Especially now that my boys can spend forever on it too.

Game Stop! You're in trouble! Video games beget more video games!

I never turn the tv on during the day either! We are watching Master Chef (still refreshing) and Hell's Kitchen (overly contrived).

Here's a rundown of that segment in the Dr Oz episode: Dr Oz: L-Carnosine: Miracle Pill To Stop Aging? - Dr Oz | Doctor Oz Fans

I can vouch for the text, since I watched it. But beware of all that negative commenting stuff below. I didn't even see it earlier.

I need to watch clips of HC!

Missy, if you pre-ordered on the first day, you'll get it fast! I never order early on, but can't remember when I did it.

Mary, yumm, the smell of warm cookies! Can't even tell you how many I've eaten in the past week!

I better go to bed. I was sooo tired this morning.

Buona notte, mi amici.

I just checked out the new workouts in the workout manager. Ok ladies, we can do these. Both of the new workouts have a MET of 9, compared to the Hiits which have a Met of 10 and Afterburn is 8.5.

Carolyn, suicides are where you run forward and back as fast as you can. She does them in 4ds bootcamp, where you pick up a light weight on one end and put it down on the other. I have also done them in an outdoor bootcamp class, where we run different lengths of the tennis court - alot tougher!

Good Morning ladies! The dvd's have arrived and they are starting to ship!!! OMG, I so hope I get them this weekend!!! I am pumped!!! I just can't wait!!!

Gotta run, Be back soon! :)

Hey Carolyn I did CSS today, too!:D I love being all sweaty:p. I love weights, too (especially how they make me look!) but there is just nothing like a good old, sweaty cardio session! Makes me feel so happy!

Have faith girls! We can do these new workouts! Even if we have to modify here and there, I know we can all do them! Speaking of those suicides, I may just have to do kettlebell swings during those. Not that I couldn't do them but I just don't have the room to run back and forth. I'm sure there will be plenty of modifications in my future:eek:. I just love that she has the "less impact" premix on these. I'm going to make really good use of those premixes!

As far as the L-carnosine, it looks like there are some beneficial effects but I am also really leary when I hear or read "miracle" pill:rolleyes:. There are plenty of compounds that can have a beneficial effect in the body. I remember when resveratrol was touted as the miracle and I tried to take it a few times. For me, it just made me jittery and oddly it also made me break out in pimples! I figure I'm taking so many supplements already, I will probably only add to my arsenal when there is a TON of research to back something up and it isn't just a miracle flavor of the day. Like fish oil has lots and lots of research to support taking it, so I do. It reminds me of this story about this patient I had. Lordy. She was diabetic, had hypertension, was very over weight, a smoker and her skin and teeth looked just awful. She refused to take her medication though because she insisted that apple cider vinegar was her "miracle" and she didn't need to do anything else. Taking ACV cured her of her diabetes, don't ya know! No need to exercise, quit smoking or eat a healthy diet...noooo.;) I told her I like to use ACV, too, but that it wasn't a miracle and she still needed to adopt other healthy behaviors. Fell on deaf ears, I'm afraid.:(

Okay, gotta run for now. TTYL!

Okay, I'm back for a brief minute.

If they ship my dvd's today, I think I would get them Saturday or Monday. Hopefully, Saturday. If, so I will do Crossfire Saturday and To the Max Sunday. I am hoping!!!!!! Normally, it takes 3 days max when I order.

Okay, what supplements do you girls take? I take a multi, fish oil, bcaa, and calcium chews.

Marie---have you heard about the appartment?

Okay, gotta run! The roofer is back, and wants to crunch numbers. This could take awhile. I want this work done as cheap as possible. Raises are in July.....so don't want to spend to much money! hahaha (gotta look after my pay check) :D

BBL!!!! :)

Jean---I noticed it double posted! The site is very slow today. Probably every Cathlete is on here checking on the new dvd's!!! Just my thought!!!

Whew! I finally was able to get back on the site! I wasn't even sure my other reply posted because it hit the snafu as I was trying to press submit. Looks like it went through!

I meant to say Yipee Carolyn before about getting HC volume 2! :D I hope you like it as much as I do! The abs sure do build up tolerance quick though...I'm having a tough time achieving DOMS lately! I know that's a good thing though! I sure do feel these workouts in the arms and shoulders! I do love tough workouts...I like to call them "challenging" instead of strenous. LOL If I think of them as too hard for me I'll never work up the mountain, plant my flag and say "There! Did it!" :p I'm definitely not afraid to modify and take breaks as I try to build up the endurance for a new, tough workout though. No need to get injured trying to do it!;) There's no shame in the pause button is my philosphy!

Okay, I was gonna post about something else and I forget what it was...I'll be back later when I remember!

I remember now!

Have you guys tried putting the new workouts on the workout manager calendar yet? I tried setting up my July workouts. The workouts are on the list and they show up in the right side bar but the icon with the little picture doesn't come up on the calendar itself. I really like to look at those little icons so I can glance at the whole month without clicking on each one to know what workout I'll be doing.

Okay, gotta run again! BBL

ETA: Aw darn it, now I can't get on the workout manager calendar at all. Hopefully SNM figure out the snafus on the site today. They sure have their hands full between that and the new workouts today!

Good Evening!

Marie---I have my fingers crossed for you on the appartment!!!

I just finished After Burn too! I just love all of Cathe's workouts, but this one if one of my favorites!!!!

I am sleepy, off to bed!!!!

Good Monring ladies!

I woke up this morning feeling all healthy and energetic. I put on a pot of eggs to boil while I jumped on the treadmill for a monring run. I then toke my eggs off and showered. I then made 2 slices of wheat toast with some strawberry jelly, 3 boiled egg whites, and a glass of unsweet tea for breakfast. Yummy!!! It was so good. Better than cereal!!!!

Then, I got all my lunch and snacks for the day together and left to go to work!!! I am on a roll today!!!

I think I am going to do Total Body Trisets tonight!!!

Okay, so let me tell you a storey.....Sometimes I am always wondering about different ways to exercise, trying new things.....and last night I was doing After Burn and I realized that I absolutely love Cathe workouts. I have been straying away more than normal, been doing Scott Abels, Sandra's HC (which I like), doing workouts alone (no dvd), some Kettlebell DVD. So, I have come to the conclussion that Cathe is what I love to do. So I am still sticking with my orginial plan of LIS and the new DVD's for July. I am looking forward to getting back to that. I will still stick in some HC within the month. Just thought I would share!!!

Okay, Gotta Run. Busy at work today. Be Back Later!!!!

Have a nice trip Jean and Colleen.

I just read reviews of To the Max - it sounds great! I am definitely doing that one first. Keeping my fingers crossed that they arrive tomorrow.

Missy, you are so organized, I need to take a lesson from you. I feel like I waste so much time sitting at the computer (although now I am at work) or watching tv when I am tired. And there isn't even anything good on!

Carolyn, I have never tried the pretzel crisp things, but sounds like I should keep them out of the house. It was funny, I was in the grocery store last night and couldn't find the regular saltines. A worker was there so I asked him, and he said Nabisco isn't making the square crackers anymore because they only appeal to the older population! He said now everything will be round and scoopable. Who would think Saltines would become obsolete?

Colleen, have a great time in Florida! Glad the rain has stopped there.

Jean, hope your Mom is ok.

Well, this is my last day of work before we leave for Florida! Yippee!:D We don't fly out until Saturday but I took tomorrow off since I haven't really done much packing yet:eek:. I'm excited to sleep in a little, make Afterburn my last workout before we go, and then finish up packing. We are going up to Minneapolis and staying at a hotel where they do park and fly. We figured we'd be spending pretty much the same amount by parking at the airport and this way we don't have to get up at 2:00 in the morning to drive up there and get to the airport in time!

Carolyn- I'm not crazy about pretzels but I LOVE hummus! Mmmmm. That is crazy how they aren't going to sell saltines as squares anymore! What is the world coming to if you can't get a square cracker?? I hate those little scoop shaped chips and crackers. I don't know why...they just bug me:eek:.
I'm so jealous of you guys that discovered Cathe early on! I had heard of her but had no my faith in my abilities before. I was so intimidated and didn't think there was anyway I'd ever be fit or strong enough to do her workouts. Then in 2010 I decided to just go for it and got Cardio Core Circuit! I quickly acquired about 80% of her workouts since then:eek:. Not a cheap couple of years!

Missy- have fun with your July workout plan! I can never go more than 2 days before putting a Cathe disc in. There is just something so motivating and reassuring about Cathe. She is totally my role model and hero!:D

Oh, I forgot about todays workout! I ended up doing one of my Ellen Barrett workouts today. My neck has still been a little tweaky so I decided to take it easy today and get a little stretchy workout in. I really wanted to do HC volume 1 but I played it safe today and I'm glad. I'm feeling pretty good right now. :)

Later girls!
