STS first time!

Carolyn---Sounds like a typical day on the water!! hahaha :) It always seems that you have one of those days after the boat sits all year long (at least here in the south) We only use our boat several months a year. At least you were able to make it in. I could actually picture all of it, since I have been in your shoes before minus the kids. Sounds like you got an amazing workout!!! I too, do not like to be in a bathing suit in front of people I really don't know. Regardless of how I look. I guess it is because you always second guess yourself???? Oh well, all that matters is that we are happy and that our husband is happy with the way we look!!!! We will always have a trouble spot that we will be working on, because we like to eat, and I can't cut everything out!!!!

Well, it sounds like it is going to rain here. Lots of clouds and thunder.

Good Morning!!! Just finished my 60 minutes on the elliptical!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday. It is overcast here with rain coming due to tropical storm Debbie. The storm is not coming here, but the outer rain bands will. We need the rain, but I would rather it rain during the week. Not on the weekend. But what can I do????

Other than that, not much going on here.

Off to bake my husband some oatmeal cookies for the week.

Good Morning!

I did S&H Tris and Bis this morning. I could barely lift my arms when I finished! I actually went heavier than Cathe a couple of times. One of many things I learned from STS, I should go heavier to start and then drop down if my form starts to suffer. I am so glad I got the S&H workouts.

The forecast looked a little iffy yesterday, so we are going to Canobie Lake today. I am not crazy about rides any more so will just watch probably. A couple of years ago I went on the tilt-a-whirl, and really felt awful afterwards. I cannot take all that spinning anymore. I do better on the rides that just go backward or forward.

The rule about driving in MA is they can't take anyone other than family members for the first 6 months. I am so happy about that! These kids are easily distracted, and I have seen some scary things from teen drivers.

I also had read that STS post and could not believe it. The poster did not even give people a chance to respond. I think she already had some opinions about Cathe fans, for whatever reason.

Oh, and commenting on Jai's legs....in today's workout, Cathe chats with the crew a bit, and this was Jai's first set of videos. She looks great from back then too. And Cedie had just had a baby. Wish they chatted a bit more in videos, but then maybe we would get tired of hearing the same thing over and over again!

Carolyn, being out on the boat in the storm sounds scary! We had sudden thunderstorms yesterday too, but were indoors. Glad everyone is ok!

Marie, the house sounds great, good luck!
 
I did Travel Fit today! I haven't done that one in so long and it felt good for a nice low impact workout. :) I love how creative she is with the band in that one. I really hope she makes more stuff like this in the future! I'm really counting on her to continue making challenging low impact or medium impact stuff.:cool:

Okay, gotta get outside with the kids. We have my niece and two extra kids (friends) over as well as my kids! I'll be back later to write more!

Looks interesting Jean!!! Keep me posted on it. I have never purchased any of the beachbody dvd's, just beause I always thought the tv promo stuff was a gimic. But, I do like the muscle related workouts.

I have drug my ass today. I did bake cookies for my man, but other than that I did nothing. I did do my cardio workouts today. It has been rainy all day so I was stuck indoors.

I did win a bosu ball on ebay for $35.00. I needed it for scott's dvd's. He uses it for ab exercises and push ups. It is coming from florida, and the person emailed me personally and said she was shipping tomorrow. So, I should have it wednesday!!! That was the highlight of my day!!!!!

Tomorrow, I have to go out for dinner, extra calories...I know, but my husbands best friend moved to PA last year, and he and his wife are coming by our house tomorrow night. They are actually trying to move back in the next 6 months. So, it will be nice to catch up, but I still dont need the extra calories, as I have been snacking all day due to inactivity. Guess, I will just have to burn it off later.

I so hope we get our DVD's soon. I am so looking forward to them. The day they come, I am doing crossfire first. I am looking forward to all the firewalker work.

I will stick with Scott Abel. I now he looks like a drill sergeant, but he never yells and just is very imformative. I absolutley love his program.

Good Morning all. I got up this morning like a good girl and did my hour of cardio. Normally mondays I drag my butt getting out of bed, but today I was good. When the alarm went off I got and and got busy!!!

Now, I am at work, and the weather is nasty!!! Rain, rain, rain....all week. Hopefully this tropical storm will be gone by next weekend. I hate staying indoors all weekend.

I'll be in Florida Monday! Wahhh!:( Okay, I suppose it's okay if you guys do these without me;). I'll be checking my blackberry constantly to read what you guys are saying about them! If I can get internet access on it down in Florida, that is. It's been iffy when I go out of town...sometimes I can't get everybody's posts like I normally do on my blackberry. Oh, I can feel the withdrawal already! From my workouts and from chatting with you guys all the time!:eek:
 
Carolyn---I got the newsletter and wanted to scream. I was so excited. I am sure looking forward to these new workouts. I hope I have them asap. I want to do crossfire first. All that firewalker exercises have got me pumped.

I will keep you updated on the bosu ball. Always look on ebay for everything!!!! I am always looking for a deal!!!

Just checked the weather and looks like rain all week here. I hope the rain is gone in time for Colleen's trip!!!

I'm off to do Horizontal Conditioning volume 2. We shall see how this goes. I think I did something to my neck/upper right trap muscle while I was sleeping. :confused: I felt fine when I woke up but for some reason as I sat here on the computer it suddenly started to bother me. I'm not sure how the plank stuff will go...if I have trouble I may switch to CSS. I'll let you guys know how it went!

Carolyn- I know how you feel when you check the forum and there's nothing for long stretches! I'll do that sometimes during the workday when I'm super slow and be so bummed. At night and on my days off it's tougher for me to get on the computer. It sounds nuts that I can be busier at home than when I'm at work sometimes!:eek:

Good luck with the apartment Marie! I bet you could try one of the new workouts lower impact premixes...maybe;). You could always attempt it and then if you feel unsteady stop. There is always going to be a place for pizza in my diet! It's my favorite food! I figure I can sacrifice a lean 6 pack looking stomach for my favorite foods.:p As long as I look good in clothes...who needs a bikini? I'll just stick to the tankini!:D;) Hee!

Good Morning all. I missed chating last night. We had our friends over after dinner and they didnt leave till 9:30 pm. I then had to shower and go to bed!

It was nice to catch up as they have been gone for a year. I got such nice compliments on my success. It made me feel good. It also, made my husband smile, and he said such nice things about me....how I am so dedicated and he is very proud of me!!!! It just meant alot to hear it!!! :)

I didn't get to workout last night, and I missed it. Looking forward to tonight. I am going to do something hard!!!!

Oh, I wonder in what order does Cathe ship the pre orders? In alpha order or in the order the orders were placed? I hope in the order they were placed....I ordered on day 1. hehehe :D

Carolyn---We had not seen them in over a year. Last time I saw them I was 55.4 pounds heavier. So, I look completely different. The tables turned. When she left she was much smaller than me, now I am much smaller than her. My husband was like, I have the hot wife now!!!! :) She is going to nursing school and she said she left fitness in florida because she does not have time to exercise. (she also has no children) But, I am a firm believer in "you make time". I work a full time job and make time. Anyone can!!! We all do!!! So, I was like you will get it back when you are done with school, and you get a job. You will be able to balance work with exercise!!!

And, Carolyn---I am sure you look wonderful. Hell, we all age, but just think how you would look if you didnt exercise. Its not always about the looks. It is how healthy someone is. And, with healthy eating and exercise you are ahead of the game!!! Just remember that!!! ;)

Colleen---how you are feeling better. How did HC Vol2 go?

I got that email too! I love oxygen mag!!! I also got the email that July 10th the abs bookazine will be out!!! Looks like it will be a good month for reading!!!

Health is what matters, beleive me, I see it on a daily basis at work. Don't ever forget that!!!!:eek:
 
Carolyn---I too struggle with my thighs. They have shrunk since I lost weight, but I still want to lose more on the lower body. I am trying to hit the lower body hard this month. I did see incredible results on the lower body when I followed LIS for several months. Maybe after I get the new DVDs I will do LIS with them and see what happens???? I just have so many dvds to choose from, I get side tracked!!! hahaha :eek:

I have a game plan.....I will write all my workouts on my dry erase calendar in my workout room, then all I will have to do is look and I will know what to do. That's it!!!! I will start LIS with the new workouts July 1st!!! I will keep up with my progress, I will do measurements on my lower body on July 1st and then on the 31st and let you know what my accomplishments are!!! See, I have a postive attitude, so I will succeed!!!! :p:D:eek:

Oh, I did not tell you......my husband took my bathroom scale away from me. You all know I have a scale addiction. I weight myself all the time (several times a day) He said he will give it back to me once a week and see how I do. I am frightened. I do not know what I weight. I do have to say.....I feel much better, not stressing over the number. I look in the mirror, and thats what makes me happy, not a number. So, we will see!!!

Okay, I gotta go!!! Sorry I wrote a book!!!! ;)
 
Missy- I think that's great your hubby took the scale away! Once a week is plenty for a weigh in...I want to say I read that's what Cathe does. Weight fluctuates soooo much througout the day and from day to day it's crazy! One weigh in once a week when you first wake up is a good way to still keep track of the over all picture without getting too hung up on it. The way you look in the mirror and fit into clothes...that's where it's at!:eek:

Carolyn- I know you look fabulous girl! Remember we dont' give ourselves enough credit! Stand up straight with confidence and a big old smile because you are beautiful you fit girl!!!:D

I'm excited about those Oxygen mag specials, too! I love Oxygen. The only thing that bothers me about those magazines is all the insane advertisements for fat burners and various supplements. Well, that and the fact that all the women in those advertisements look waaaay too busty considering how lean they are. Not that I'm totally against all plastic surgery but it does seem to lend an unrealistic body ideal, I think. I LOVE Tosca Reno, though. I love reading her articles!

Well, I did end up doing HC Volume 2. I spent a long time warming up and stretching before I even pressed play and did the warm up on the dvd. I bounced a little on the rebounder and tried to loosen up. I had to take breaks to stretch even more but I made it. I could've done another video but I can be stubborn and I really wanted to do this one today!:eek: Have you tried Volume 2 yet, Missy? I think it's my favorite of all of them. That's the one that gave me ab doms for 2 days!:eek: It has to be those dragging planks over the step...I LOVE those!:D

Tomorrow will be CSS I think. I miss Cathe even though it's only been two workout days since I saw her onscreen!:p

Hey Jean!

I decided to abandon the pyramid down STS idea since it really didn't seem to be doing anything for me. I felt like I wasn't getting the best of either world, really. I lost some of the arm definition I had gained with STS even though I was still doing them every other week. It was a little frustrating...but at least now I know! I decided I'm going to do the HC workouts as well as circuits and kettlebells (and the new Cathe's!!) and one lower body workout a week for about 6 weeks after I get back from Disney, take a rest/yoga week and then dive into a real STS rotation. I'll probably do the 31/2 month one again but I think it'll be even better this time since I have the tower! I actually really love what the HC workouts have been doing for my arms! I feel like I'm getting some of that definition back! Yay!

ETA: Oh and my neck feels a little better. We'll see how the day goes. I just don't know what I did! It's like sometimes I'll just sleep on it weird or something...:confused:

Jean---Yes we have a scale at the office, but I never get on it. I like my scale at home. I do feel much better not weighing everyday, so I am going to see how I do for a week without it. As long as I do not gain I am fine. :)
And, like Carolyn said, we miss not chating with you. Somedays we talk about nothing...so it doesn;t always have to be about workouts!!!

Colleen---I am glad you are feeling better. I have not tried HC 2 yet, I thought vol 1 was a killer. I need to strengthen my wrists. But, I will try vol 2 this week and alet you know what I think. I thought she was going to kill me with bootcamp!!!!

Carolyn---I am not sure if I have high step training, i will look tonight. If I do, I have never done it. You are making me what B&B!!! That is on my want list now!!!!
