STS first time!

Good morning.....

Carolyn....i did a total of 2 hours running on treadmill yesterday.....plus moving all the stuff around...

Today i am doing an hour on the treadmill this morning....amd i think either afterburn or css or bitts and gutts.....

Try the tilapia....it was so delish.....i can waot to cook it again....i have already came up with diff sides to go with....it also has salmon...havent tryed that.

So did you cave in pizza, Carolyn????

Be back after cardio and breakfast?

Hello....at work again....tim came with me...but he is in the car...doesnt want to come in.....germs....lol

Carolyn....its part of my job....as office manager, I coordinate all stuff like this....so unfortunately I have to do it....my docs appreciate it....so I don't mind.

Making turkey tenderloin tonight with veggies....should be good!

Just finished prepping some of my weekly stuff....made some burritos for. Few of my lunches.

Check back soon....gotta do a few more things and after dinner I will do evening without!

Carolyn...I love beets....but I have never grown them.....

I just put some corn on the cob on to boil....yummy!!!!

Okay...trying to venture out and try some new stuff......I have never really eaten sweet potatoes....I tried them once and turned my nose up at them....but I didn't cook them. So I want to give it another shot.....how do I prepare\cook them....any advise?

Missy I just put the sweet potato in foil and bake at 350 for an hour. I also just cut them up and boil. When soft I mash them. I don't add anything to them. They are really good. You and Carolyn have been solo all weekend.

Today I took a rest day and ate all day. I made pancakes for breakfast , went to the grocery store , layed in bed and watched this weeks movie" Guilt Trip" with Barbra Streisand with a bowl of popcorn and M & M's , cooked out steaks and potatoes on the grill. My stomach feels huge. I think the eating is due to stress. That's about all that is new with me.

Jean

Hello....just came in from feeding fish in our pond....and harvesting lettace...i sure wish you girls lived jer...because i have so much lettace...enough for all of us!

Carolyn....you are too funny....i dont eat potatos...but when we cook at our house for the inlaws...i always micro them for them....lol....they eat potatos with every meal i think....not us.....

Tonights dinner was a success....

Turkey tend, corn on cob, cottage cheese....it was really good..... tim said.....are you trying to make me eat more healthy???? I said of course not......hehehe

I am roasting chicken right now...for tomorrows dinner....i have cooked all day...love it!

Off to do my workout before ots too late.....

Thabks for the tips on my sweet potatos....

Btw...jean...your movie time with m&ms sound nice!!! I just love love love m&ms!

I hate microwave food. I think it dries out the sweet potato.

I watched The Following. It was so good. I was so sad the Debra Parker died. If I was Ryan , I would have put that guy back in the grave instead of shooting him. I knew at the end that that neighbor lady would cause trouble. How are we going to wait until next season to find out if they live or die???????????? I was tense the whole show. I am glad I continued watching it. I am glad Joe died in that fire.

I bet that was fun on the boat. I love boats.

Missy I wish we all lived close also. We could have so much fun working out together. I would be at your house all the time with your horses. I love horses.

Hi everyone!

Not much new here. Ate poorly this weekend. And since I'm catching up online, I'm not on the bike. I feel porky right about now.
Yesterday I went to TJM while DH and DS went to Shaws (market) and they went bananas! Get this. They went in for clam chowder and juice, but also came out with ground beef (think pink slime!), Hamburger Helper (seriously??), powdered mashed potatoes :)o), corned beef hash (in a can; nitrites, anyone??). I could just burst a vein. Isn't that always the way?? So darn ironic! You'd think I starve them or something.
I don't know what I'll do this summer when the fare is chockfull of burgers, hot dogs, s'mores, fried seafood, chowder.... I'm going to try portobello burgers.

Lettuce, beets, sweet potatoes. Wish we were closer too, Missy. I love the idea of a veggie garden but I'm not that good at it. No knowledge and too lazy, I guess. You'd be a great teacher if we were neighbors. And I'd love your horses too.
Beets taste like the earth.:p Can't get used to them, Carolyn.

Colleen, I hope all went swimmingly with DD's first communion! Congrats!
Omg, so upsetting about the Fitbit! It would eat me up inside too because I never lose things! Maybe someone found it and turned it in? If not, it's replaceable.

Carolyn, how fun your fishing trip sounds. Warm weather is so wonderful!
I would go to have your brows professionally done (<$20), and then follow up with the upkeep on your own. That's exactly what I did because I just couldn't get how to do it.
My eyebrows are pathetically sparse. And now that perimenopause has set in, my barely-existent lashes have grown even sparser, if that's possible! That's why I really, really want to try Latisse, but for the forever maintenance and associated cost. Plus, I worry about as-yet-unknown side effects.
Did you find something to occupy your time during the guys' Bruins time? I actually don't mind if I'm by myself.:D
Have not read about Lastics yet, but now you've made me curious.
Keep up with HC then!

Jean, it's ok to indulge. You torch the calories all week long with your getting the house ready. What a nice, relaxing day for you. You deserve it.
I am looking forward to Guilt Trip; waiting...
I just vacuum the surface of the beds. I never gave it any thought until I read it on Martha's mag. Think of all the dead skin and mites:eek:. Nonetheless, I only do it once or twice a year.

Mary, hope you enjoyed the Cape and your sis and family time. We go to Falmouth, since it's a shorter drive; happily it's got all the major stores too! Chatham is absolutely one of the most gorgeous places though, especially by the shore!

Missy, can't wait till you get your bike! What you get done in one weekend, I might do in a week. I'm so slow! You are amazing.
If we all lived close, we could do like Curves. All the equipment would be at Missy's ranch, and we'd do rotations on them! Other times, we would do Cathe together. Although if we weren't separated by thousands of miles, we'd not appreciate each as much.
On sweet potatoes, sometimes when I remember when I'm using the oven for something else, I put a whole bunch of them in there to bake as well. Then I just refrigerate them and take them out one by one to eat. I eat them cold.

Marie, hope you had a fab weekend. xoxo to B.

Ooh, I think I'll try BB LB tomorrow!

Great weekend! The past 2 nights we spent up north with family. Lots of craziness but it was great. This mama even had a couple bloody Mary's. Between being pregnant and just not being a drinker I probably haven't drank in about 2 years. I almost didn't drink last night either but after doing my research about pumping and dumping my breastmilk I felt ok about having a couple. B was such a good boy like usual. He is so loved! The night before that we stayed in a hotel, just us 3, in Duluth and we are back here tonight. Love my little family. Both my boys are napping right now. Forum time for me :)

Workouts were....

Friday...6 miles on the treadmill in the hotel workout room
Saturday.....Power walk, an hour, in the morning with my SIL and then 2 leisurely walks later that days with family.
Today....Lazy day!

B is stirring.....hope to be back later to catch up. I miss you ladies!

Good morning!!! Just finished my morning cardio!

Okay....i did something to my foot....its the side of my foot....hurts like hell....????...i walked this morning....couldnt run due to my foot????

Betty....it would be awesome to have a workout buddy....but so true....we would not appeciate each other as much....so..with that being said....ill keep it this way....i just love our group....it truely keeps me motivated to keep going!

Only a few more days till i get my spin bike!! I am so excited.....just cant wait! Told Tim we had to put it together wednesday night.....yeah!!! I also LOVE putting exerciae equipment togethet....dont ask me why....i just do!!!

Btw....i havent drank any wine in years....i like it too much...lol....but i bought a bottle over the weekend....havent had any yet though....but the thought of it....sounds good!!! Lol

Gotta get ready for work....bbl!

Hello to all!

Btw...Marie...your workouts sound lovely....i saw a pic of you with little b on fb....too cute! You look fantastic!!!

Carolyn...i keep forgeting to answer....yes i have my eyebrows waxed...i always say i am going to just keep up with them...and then they are out of control...so i go back again...and again...and again....its only $10 here in the south! Lol

Good morning ladies!!!

Sorry I did not have time to check in over the weekend. Between DD first holy communion and yesterday we went to New Jersey to celebrate DH grandfathers 87th birthday. So lot of running around this weekend. I'm exhausted!

Saturday was a perfect day. The weather was wonderful and DD looked like a princess. It was too cute DS actually kept calling her a princess. it was a great day. We had family back at our house for lunch and cake. I did manage to get in a bb workout in early Saturday morning. No workout yesterday and I forgot to set my alarm this morning so no workout today. I will try to get a walk in at work. I was so tired this morning so I probably needed the rest anyhow.

Carolyn, I get mine waxed every so often jus to clean them up and it then take it from there. I use to get it done more, but as I've aged my skin has become more sensitive so I don't like to get it done that much.

I need to crack the whip too. I've gained a few pounds and would really like to take them off before Memorial Day.

Missy, can't wait for you to try out the spin bike. I hope you love it. I hope your foot is ok.

Betty, you got The lower body BB DVD too? I didn't realize that. Can't wait to hear how you like it. What was your overall thought of the UB DVD? Is it something you can get into? I guess you won't be letting DH and DS go shopping alone again. Lol.

Carolyn, glad you enjoyed ride and HC. Maybe you can do some sort of rotation with HC and lower body workouts?

I am so upset about losing the fitbit. I left my number at the stores I went into and no luck yet. My guess is it fell off walking and I'm sure someone snatched it up. I'm seriously debating about getting the new fitbit flex that goes around your wrist. Thank goodness I had a gift card and it only cost me $10 for else I wouldn't even be thinking about getting a new one. But I'm still upset.

Good morning! It is foggy out, and inside the house it is freezing!

Previewing BB LB right now (Colleen, it finally came in from the library; got it Friday!), but hmmm, what to sub for the bar??
I liked UB and would cycle after for cardio, but can't see doing the bike after my legs are fried! Any thoughts?

Leah's legs look AMAzing!

Betty, the bike might actually feel good afterwards to flush out the lactic acid build up. Also you might be surprised that you don't need any extra cardio afterwards.....

Carolyn...be careful with your knee....

Colleen....i read about the fitbit flex....i am interested to see how it works...waiting on it to be released....wonder if it will work as well as the one you clip on bra/pants????

Here is my gym#2.....i share it with Boots....if I ever use ot...i have to clean up all cat toys prior....lol

Missy! What is the contraption in the corner of gym #2? A Bowflex? You do have a lot of equipment!:D
So jealous of your tomato and cucumber flowers. My cherry tomato seedlings are about 2" tall right now. The permanent foliage is tiny! Started them late, I know. I should plant some Italian zucchini seeds too.

Colleen, omg, my legs were quaking and shaking UNcontrollably! What's keeping me going is your experience that your knees get stronger (mine were hurting, of course), and the idea that my legs could look like Leah's!:D I can't wait for my quads to strengthen too.
As with UB (only did it once), I find Leah's voiceover a step fast sometimes, and she really could give more hints! I'm lost and keep having to look at the tv, plus my barre substitute is my bike and it's on the opposite side of Leah's barre. I'm SO out of my element! Don't know any ballet terms but what I've heard on Cathe. I'm getting the hang of some of the terms though, like releve.
I'll try the bike afterwards next time then. Thanks for the tip. My HR did go up a tiny bit once or twice.:D
Guess what I'm trying right now with my oatmeal? I've subbed some quinoa for the steel-cut, about half. It's not bad! I can't tell that it's not oatmeal, and I like quinoa. Totally brilliant! Can you tolerate quinoa?
I did BS Chest afterwards.

The sun finally started coming out about an hour ago. Hooray!

Where is everyone else??:(

Missy, that's a pretty affordable piece of equipment. Nice! You've got so much room in your house!
Have you heard of upland cress? I've been buying it at Whole Foods for several months now (ghastly expensive) and had saved several root balls in bowls of water. Just earlier today I researched it and learned I could grow it outdoors like spinach! (I thought it was more hydroponic, like watercress, which is how I was treating it.) So I just planted 5 of them outdoors. Hope they take off!:D

Hello!
Had a great weekend at the Cape with my family, but it was a bit cold and blustery. Betty, I love Chatham but would prefer a shorter drive like Falmouth. It seems like once we're over the bridge it takes forever!
I am having a nice visit with my sis. She is the oldest of the 5 of us, and I am the youngest. We had a couple of good walks at the Cape. I do wish she did not live so far away!
I'm still having this pain high in my hamstrings. Carolyn, what did you do to make yours better? I notice it is worse when doing the lower body, like low lunges, so I'll avoid those. This morning I did Athletic Step and it wasn't too bad.
Colleen, so sorry to read about your Fitbit, but as you say, at least you didn't pay too much for it. But it still stinks. Glad DD's communion went well.
Missy, you are months ahead garden-wise. We did get some decent corn on the cob from the market, I don't know where it was from but it was better than I thought it would be.
You all talking about these different workouts make me want them, but I can't even do all of the workouts I have now! I keep reading the comments about HC, but I think it would be too tough on my wrists.

Betty---I have never heard of water cress???? But, I went to lowes at lunch today....and there was Bonnie Wee B Little Pumpkins....I bought some....I need to get them started so I have pumpkins in the fall....I love the little pumpkins for decorating!!!! HEHEHEHE.....

Mary----I bought HC and sold it on ebay....because my wrists could not handle it....I tryed all sorts of things...but my wrist would ache for days....so I gave that up....

My docs told me thankyou for my work over the weekend....that is worth it all...it truely makes you feel appreciated...and makes you push forward for them. :) I never knew how much it meant till I started with these docs 3 years ago....they are so nice and appreciative....It makes a difference!:D

Be back later!
