STS first time!

Good morning!

Whenever I read that you gals have done Core 1 or 2, I am jealous. I don't like them, the moves, and can hardly do them!

I have no idea what to do this morning. Gave it too much thought last night when trying to decide whether to spin or do Ride this morning. Since I did the bike last night, I'll have to pick something else.

Colleen, love that Yin Yoga feedback! I want to stretch me out!!!

Missy, that's so awesome that you have a like-minded friend nearby! Take advantage and often! Nobody I know works out like me. My sis in CA is into running and if we lived closer, we could do fitness things together.

Mary, keep up the workouts! Hopefully you can grab an hour or two more of sleep tomorrow.
Are you alternating UY & Cathe? Love your UY details! I WILL get it one of these days!

I did 60 mins DM UB premix and Ab Circ Yoga Abs. My UB was still so sore from BS Chest two days ago! And I felt very fatigued during my workout today.

Making my oatmeal now.... Feeling so glum to match the cloudiness outside.

Betty---I dont think anyone works out like we do! Most people think I am CRAZY for what I do....but thats how I am able to look "SEXY"....I am hoping I can get her to do a Cathe workout....she has only been walking, and has just started running. So hopefully I can convince her to get serious like us! LOL

I have decided not to go to the beach...I am going to go run and then come home a do some stuff around the house. I am not really a beach person...so I would rather stay home! I am going to definately lay out and try to get some color. :D

Hope everyone has a lovely day! :p

Sorry Mary, you DID say earlier that you are alternating Cathe & UY. Love the idea! I think I will do that too when I get it. Though I might do UY on MWF, and maybe Cathe's spin TTh

Happy Friday,

Today was ballet body upper body segments. Oh boy they were killer today. I have not used her DVDs but her download quality is poor but it does not bother me at all. Her queuing is spot on that that's what I really care about. Nothing beats cathe with her production quality.

Mary, great job for getting a workout in after not sleeping well.

Carolyn, great job on your workouts today. Enjoy the day with your mom.

Betty, I had oatmeal too but it was at 7am. I'm not thinking about breakfast. I also every 2-3 hours. I had a smoothly today. Frozen banana .5 cup of coconut milk, jay Robb's chocolate egg white protein, tps of peanut butter and cocoa nibs. YUMMY. Great job in your spinning last night.

Me too I don't know anyone that workouts like I do. I do prefer to workout solo though. It would be nice to have a walking buddy.

Missy, enjoy your run tomorrow. Sorry you didn't enjoy your dinner last night.

Hi Colleen! I think it's only possible to work out solo at home. No room. It would be nice to have the local support and same mindset though. Thank goodness I found you ladies!
For a few minutes earlier the thread had a fatal error message suggesting too much data or something of an end to our posting, so I was trying to come up with the name of a new thread to start!
I just bought and tried cacao nibs for the first time yesterday. Bleghhh:confused:! I guess I was expecting some bitter chocolate flavor, not pieces of what tastes like shell and nut. 8 oz bag to finish.

Missy, my Marika top has a back hook and spaghetti straps, and contrasting piping on the bottom edge. And removable cushions (read: padding)!:D

Carolyn, the sun hasn't quite reached me yet. Soon though, I think.

Betty, just a little goes a long way with coca nibs. Throw then in smoothies or even put a few in your oatmeal. I will even sprinkle a few on top of a rice cake smeared in peanut butter.

Quick check-in for me. Another crazy day at work. We were short-staffed so I had 7 patients. The most we should have is 5.

No workout this morning. I decided I need to not stress about getting up at 4am on days I work. If I don't get a workout in who cares. I feel like sleep is more important now-a-days. I'm kind of spacy sometimes and I think it's related to me getting up numberous times a night with my little B :)

The hockey game was crazy! OMG why did I think that was a good idea?! I'm not sure! It was soooo loud. I was covering B's ears and then finally excused myself to go feed him. They didn't have a good place to feed so I ended up sitting on the floor of the family restroom to feed him. Disgusting! It was super loud in there too because they were blasting the game through the speakers. So annoying! B gets all distracted now when he eats too so that was not fun. Before that we met Tony's parents at an Italian restaurant. My little man had a blow-out right as we got our food. Up-the-back change-of-clothes blow-out. So anyways I go to the bathroom to change him and there is no changing station. What type of bathroom doesn't have a changing station?! It was horrible! I had to change him on the floor. I wanted to cry and literally almost did. Anyways, we ended up leaving the game early because it was so loud. I felt like a horrible mama for putting him through that.

Hopefully I'll BBL. Tony is off today though so headed home in a bit to enjoy my boys and hopefully not eat Special K Chocolate Delight....aka my favorite cereal ;)

Marie you poor thing. Yes, being a mamma is hard at times. I so remember some if those situations. One time we were at an Italian restaurant DD had a blow out and it got all over me bc she was sitting on my lap. No change if clothes for mamma. Bathroom did not have a changing table so I took her to the car to change her (all while my dinner was getting cold). Although I did nurse in some situations I would pack a bottle and frozen milk. Especially if we were eating out. I'd ask the wait staff for a cup of hot water and warn the bottle and just pump when I got home. It saved me a lot of frustrating times.

Carolyn, cocoa nibs are pieces of chocolate that have been roasted, hulled and prepped to the point were the next step is to make chocolate bars. So it basically raw chocolate.

Good afternoon....oh marie....i feel for ya! And carolyn...i hate public restrooms too! I try to always hold it till i get home!!!

I got my sunglasses....

I love them! They are coach's!!!

Off to workout....i was going to wash my car....but its freezing outside.....i will wait and do it tomorrow afternoon when the sun is out!

Bbl!

Missy, love the sunglasses!!!!

It turned out to be a beautiful day. 65 and sunny. I kicked the kids outside to go and play.

We finally did get sun after 1 pm. It is gorgeous out! Hardly any wind so it's calm and serene!

Oh, Marie! I feel for you! How terrible! What a chain of events! A blow-up, not having any place to change, the loud noise (DS2 would have freaked!), disgusting public bathrooms (I am an extreme germaphobe)! I am a basket case just listening to your story!
Good for you for putting sleep first! You are a wise mama. Don't forget that you already burn major cals from nursing and having an extra person (a little baby to boot) to care for. We know you're accountable to your workouts and will get them in when the time is right for you.

Carolyn, my kids were too old by the time the contraption to line supermarket carriages came along, otherwise I would have had one! Although I wasn't as germaphobic back then as I am now!

Colleen, great description. I didn't even know all that about cacao nibs. I just know it's a superfood.:D

So I wasn't going crazy. My new browser wouldn't allow me to view our thread any more. I was able to use my handheld fine to see and post on it. So then I checked my old browser and I accessed it with no problems. No more new browser for me.

All this talk of Skinny Cow and so now I ate 1.5. DH wanted a bite of mine, so then I feel like I didn't get a whole one (oink), so I pull one out for him, and he eats less than half. I skipped my cafe mocha.

Missy,!

I'm so tired! Leftovers tonight, thankfully.

Glad you could all relate. It was terrible. A dang horror movie I tell ya. I wish I would have thought of that car thing. I was in such a panic at the moment. Thank goodness I had a liner for the floor but still he kept touching the floor. Scrubbed his hands all good but still. He was immediately given a birth the second we got home. Glad it's over!

Love the sunglasses Missy! Very sexy!

Have a good evening everyone!

Marie, I remember those explosions all too well. I was better prepared the 2nd time around!

Missy, love the glasses too!

Today was UY Cross Train. Yes, that definitely is my favorite UY workout. I also tacked on the core workout, that was tough.

For my hamstrings I have been rolling on a tennis ball. I don't have a foam roller but the ball does wonders.

I am taking oldest DD on a college visit today, then later headed to the mall so she can get a new bathing suit. I really have to start getting stuff ready for our trip!

Have a great day!

Good morning, gals! Aaaahhh, nice and rested from a good night's sleep, and getting up at a decent hour:D!

I think the temps here are going to be more on the wintry feel today, with that fierce wind:confused:.

Should one use a tennis ball for the hamstring anyway? How does it work? Do you just push down and roll along the hamstring?

Mary, which college? I love to hear about DD's visits.
Loving the sound of UY CrossTraining!

Good morning!

Today I did ride!! 15.5 miles. She doesn't have a long enough stretch the end.i always stretch more.

Carolyn, do you?

I'm at swimming lessons with the kids. Nice and sunny out today but chillier than yesterday.

Betty, glad you are nice and rested.

Missy, how was your run today?

Mary, I really like cross train as well.

Good morning!

Just popping in to say hi :) I'm at work but all the patients are in group so I'm taking a quick break. I went from 7 patients yesterday to 3 today. Makes for an easy day although I prefer the running around craziness.

So I have some exciting news. I have an interview for a float pool position on Thursday. I'm super excited so send me some positive vibes on that day. It would be 24 hours a week (same that I work now) and at the same hospital. I would float between the 2 units I work right now (Geriatric Psych and Substance Abuse) and then would float to the rest of the hospital too (Ortho, Oncology, Cardiac, Acute Care for the Elderly, and Med/Surg). After 6 months I would be able to train to ICU, ER and post partum. I really want to work post partum soooooo badly. Since having B I know that is my calling. I need medical experience to work that unit so this transfer would be so great! Really excited and nervous for this interview. I just want it sooo badly! The only negative is it's a day/night rotation so my shifts would be either 7am to 3:30pm or 11pm to 7:30am. Not too crazy about night shift but I figure you got to start somewhere and I'm willing to do anything to get to my goal.

Betty- We are having crazy weather here too. It was snowing yesterday. So done with winter. Bring on summer!

Mary- Oh that tennis ball sounds lovely. It would really get in there nice and deep! Have fun on the college visit :)

Carolyn- Work that cardio today girl. Loving those hamstring DOMS ;)

Colleen- Loving those pics of your arms! Great defintion! You should be proud!

Missy- Hope you're enjoying your Sat :)
